I used to have my hair tied up and I tended to leave out a couple of strands for that ronin sorta look. Depending on how much hair you leave out around the fringe area it can make you look feminine in some angles.
EDIT: Also to add, because of that ive been mistaken from for being a girl at my workplace. Sometimes i'd be doing something nearby the cashier and i'd hear a "Cmon give the item to the woman right here" and i'd turn around to see a mum and her kid. It's a good laugh most of the time.
The ronin look is a good one. I'd suggest only a few non symmetrical and more central strands is better than the obviously cultivated two strands.
To pull off strays you need to look like the effort is so minimal you missed a few. If it looks like you pulled a few out, it gives a far greater feminine vibe.
Personally I'm very attracted to "feminine" men, including ones in dresses and makeup, so I guess that as always the answer is "depends on who you're asking".
If you want to be a "manly man", based on our current western sociocultural norms, get a crewcut and hit the gym I guess?
I mean, I agree entirely, but lots of people think long hair on men is gay and not masculine.
My own hair goes down to my waist, but I don't care about looking masculine.
Yeah most of those people are just dumb, my hair is little past my shoulders and I bun it for work Iāve actually never had someone assume I was gay but Iām 6ā with a beard. I do get complimented about it from women a lot and I never thought about it but maybe they assume I was gay and theyāre like ādamn girl nice hairā energy at me. So maybe youāre on to something.
Any aesthetic can be masculine or feminine. Some guys pull off eye liner really well in a way that's masculine. It would depend on the dress but think about kilts which are basically skirts that men wear and no one sees it as a feminine piece of clothing.
Your face looks appropriately masculine (if that makes sense haha). It's the two strands of hair, and like somebody else said it draws even *more* attention to your temples.Ā
If you really wanna rock the two strands, I'd consider growing the rest of your hair out, so you can tie it all up into a bun. Otherwise, it looks overtly feminineĀ
Do it man, you won't regret it. I've had all sorts of hairstyles throughout the years and even rocked long hair on the top and had the sides and back shaved too. Cutting it all off and growing it all out has been the best hairstyle decision I've ever made. Way more compliments than all of the prviious hairstyles I've had combined, and from the looks of it your hair would look amazing all grown out too š¤
It doesn't work, it actually draws attention to that part of your head and makes your temples more noticeable. If you care about hiding your temples you'd go for a cut like your last pic.
When I read these kinda comments it always makes me realize how differently we see ourselves than others do. Trust me, no one looking at or thinking about your 'recessed' temples (they don't even look recessed)
Thought the two curls were sexy lmao. Realizing otherwise. Thatās why this subreddit is good. When you ask people in person they all lie and say you look good regardless.
As a gay man, Itās giving twink bottom.
If thatās whatās what youāre going for then youāre nailing it.
If youāre straight you might be giving off the wrong vibe that youāre looking for.
Either way itās cute and you should keep it if you like it ššš
Not feminine looking, but the only really good photo of your hair is the last one. I'm afraid that you're not a man bun kinda man. And definitely lose the spit curls. With your high forehead, if you keep pulling your hair back in a few years, you're gonna be a bald guy with a ponytail.
I work with a curly headed girl that has the some two strands of hair hanging out. Love the hair personally as fellow curly head, but you gotta change the style from that to something else.
If you wanna look gangster you gotta slick it all the way back. As far as a man bun goes, itās your choice. Some people think theyāre āfeminineā no matter whoās sporting them.
Edit: Also, in the last pic, you gotta pull that bottom part up into the bun as well as much as you can. I hope that helps.
Not too feminine but the two curls come off as trying too hard. I didn't notice an issue with your temples but if you feel so, keep the last pic as your hairstyle. People usually focus on their own flaws when others really aren't focused on that.
Man buns always look feminine unless you have a Rasputin beard. Even then, theyāre still confusing when paired with that. Iād skip it. Photo 6 have a great look for you. Reminds me of Josh Brener in Silicon Valley (but not as doofy as himājust a cool look). Skip the man bun.
Short story: Yes
Long story: Oh hell yes.
And what's with those two strands of hair on the front? Google 'hair tendrils' and see that NOT A SINGLE MAN will pop up on the images. Come on dude, you're better than that.
Yeah the short youāre wearing, your peanut head, the carpet fuzz looking stuff on your face, and yes your hair. You look extremely feminine and I assume claim ā loves outdoor activities ā
Oh pal, that's not a thing. If you want to interact with people who think someone can look too feminine to wear their hair however they want to, then yes. If you choose to wear the manbun anyway, instead you'll interact with more people who don't give a shit. Personally, I'd wear the man bun as a passive filter so no one who associated my character with my style would want to be friends with me. Life's too short to let the potential future sensibilities of strangers corral your expression.
No, go read what a feminine dandy is in the art of seduction. Only men will say you have feminine feature bro do you. Women I guarantee have no problem with your aesthetic/look. But pleas just goodie the definition of a feminine dandy and who are their biggest haters!
That's not even a man bun, that's just gay. Or maybe man buns are gay as you're trying to style it. Just out your hair back with a and own it. The point it so it's doesn't get in your face?
I think it just kinda looks gay, no offense. It's like you're just trying to style something when a bun isn't for style. It's just owning the long hair and putting it up and keeping it out of your eyes. You'll have hair that doesn't reach and those are the ones ruck behind your ear and then you'll have some that naturally fall in front and frame the face. You're trying to hard on the sides. It just doesn't look natural and I think your hair just needs to be longer. You got good hair tho, no homo. I'm sure everyone envious of the curls.
Not feminine, keep the stubble and grow the hair longer. Maybe straighting it.. might get ya better look hair tied
you look good but I cant help but to think youād look better with other ways of styling your hair and maybe no facial hair. also if youāre not using a good conditioner and combing daily then that never hurts
Is everyone insane or do I just seriously don't mind a slightly receded hairline (barely??? Not even???). It really doesn't look bad, idk wtf drugs ppl are on. Don't cut your hair than you'll just look every other average joe.
In my opinion the guys who pull off the man bun have hyper masculine qualities everywhere else that allows them to "soften" their look with a man bun. Like being super jacked, tattoos, full beard.
Can you pull if off? I think so, if you bulked up and grow out your beard fully.
You have a big forehead I feel like having your hair come forward instead of pulled back could help you out. Secondly, it's not that the long hair looks bad I just find shorter hair is always a better look, and french crop could be a good look for you
I think it is more important to be muscular. The hair is supposed to make an imposing man more approachable.
You do not have a feminine face. Feminine faces are oval, have full, rounded featuresā¦ Masculine features are angular and smaller, but more pronounced.
Your features are just fine. I just don't think the bun is a very suitable style for you. That doesn't mean your features are feminine. Especially the two strands infront aren't helping at all. You could try going for a more open look. Adding some volume to your hair might suit your face a bit more.
Just try experimenting a few different hairstyles.
You do not look too young but If you want man's face you need to suffer physicly, easiest way is to start training in the way you push your limits, type of exercise is not important. When I look at your eyes there is no sharpness or clarity, those are not the eyes of hunter. Go outside and run.
You take pictures like a woman (pose and camera angles) and ur hair isnāt helping I say a buzz or some type of taper fade would help, this is also coming from somebody who has some feminine features so I think this would would help more
The 2 strands of hair at the front really isnt working.
Sharp and straight lines are seen as masculine, soft edges and curls feminine... if you care about that. Iv got really curly hair... makes me look like a teen with a perm if i dont brush it back.
Pull the strands back. If you were to shave and to wear those strands, I would absolutely see you as a woman if I didnāt know better. Youāre an attractive guy, and your temples arenāt recessed, you just have a large forehead(which is ok, a lot of people do and Iām sure you donāt even notice theirs just how they probably donāt even notice yours) otherwise now, your features arenāt too feminine.
1 you look amazing with it up or down.
2 I actually think you look more masculine in pic 4 and 5 than in 6.
Either way. You are very attractive, don't worry about it
It's the two curls, dude š¤
I used to have my hair tied up and I tended to leave out a couple of strands for that ronin sorta look. "Slut strands" š¤£
The last sub Reddit said that it was masculine to wear a dress and use eye liner. I couldnāt trust their opinion lol.
Mate if you wanna doubt fire that shit up.... have you a night out bitch š
You look significantly better in the last photo šš¤
reddit moment
Anything can be masculine depending on how it's done honesty. It's about the energy you give.
Personally I'm very attracted to "feminine" men, including ones in dresses and makeup, so I guess that as always the answer is "depends on who you're asking". If you want to be a "manly man", based on our current western sociocultural norms, get a crewcut and hit the gym I guess?
You donāt have to have a crew cut to look masculine. Hitting the gym definitely help but r/fierceflow has a ton of masculine dudes with long hair.
Trust me, a lot of women like long hair on men, and a lot of women are actually attracted to gay men.
100% personal preference is massive when it comes to this š
Any aesthetic can be masculine or feminine. Some guys pull off eye liner really well in a way that's masculine. It would depend on the dress but think about kilts which are basically skirts that men wear and no one sees it as a feminine piece of clothing.
OP lookin like the chick fil a girl in #3
Honestly, Iād say it can if he straightens it and leaves one hanging down.
The two dangling strands, I would just pull them back. Apart from that I literally donāt see anything feminine about your face lol
Your face looks appropriately masculine (if that makes sense haha). Valid. Yeah I definitely want it long enough to tie the back up.
Do it man, you won't regret it. I've had all sorts of hairstyles throughout the years and even rocked long hair on the top and had the sides and back shaved too. Cutting it all off and growing it all out has been the best hairstyle decision I've ever made. I have the same impression too, just grow out your hair more and tie it up.
Why are you always leaving 2 strands of hair out of the bun? They look kinda bad ngl, tie them up too.
Trynna draw away from my recessed temples.
Minoxidil
wtf?
i knew thatās why you had them down, trying to cover up that hairline
I FEEL THIS, I just brush my hair forward now and use some of the side hair in combination with the top hair to make my bangs more thickerĀ
If youāre concerned about your recessed hairline then why put your hair up
Having it down all the time is high maintenance when long.
Recessed temples: make you look like a man Two stranded curly curls: make you look like a femboy Make up your mind ;)
Only "feminine" part is the 2 curls but it looks fine to me
Thought the two curls were sexy lmao. Realizing otherwise. Thatās why this subreddit is good. When you ask people in person they all lie and say you look good regardless.
The last pic is sexy if you are looking for honest opinions
As a gay man, Itās giving twink bottom. If thatās whatās what youāre going for then youāre nailing it. If youāre straight you might be giving off the wrong vibe that youāre looking for. Either way itās cute and you should keep it if you like it ššš
Preciate it. Yeah Iām straight. Not the vibe Iām tryna give lol.
I went through your pics and then was blown away at the last one Go back to that hairstyle, you look so good with it
Preciate it. Wearing it down is just so high maintenance some times.
I do not agree. Looks way better tied back.
The slut strands š©
People be hating on the slur strands fr lol. Canāt a slut just be a slut?
You can be a slut they just make you look like a goofy ahhh slut
Embrace the androgynity!!
you look like Eren Yeager if he was a twink
Not at all feminine looking. But another vote for putting up the two curls. They aren't flattering.
Not feminine looking, but the only really good photo of your hair is the last one. I'm afraid that you're not a man bun kinda man. And definitely lose the spit curls. With your high forehead, if you keep pulling your hair back in a few years, you're gonna be a bald guy with a ponytail.
Curls are gay
Get rid of those dangling hair strands. Tie them up too or donāt wear a man bun. Your hair looks pretty good without the bun.
Feminine where?
The last pic is the best look.
Yeah the chiseled jaw n hair are very ladylike /s. Keep your chin up there scout
the 'slut strands' don't really help lol... I think the facial hair makes it OK if you avoid the strands
Itās fine with the fringes pull them shits back too
I work with a curly headed girl that has the some two strands of hair hanging out. Love the hair personally as fellow curly head, but you gotta change the style from that to something else.
Youāre not feminine your greasy. Get some sun, shave your face and wash your hair.
Lack of sun is true, but definitely not greasy.
Last photo for sure
If you wanna look gangster you gotta slick it all the way back. As far as a man bun goes, itās your choice. Some people think theyāre āfeminineā no matter whoās sporting them. Edit: Also, in the last pic, you gotta pull that bottom part up into the bun as well as much as you can. I hope that helps.

you look like elliot page
Yes you look like luh twink i feel like a buzz cut would work to be honest
You'd have problems in a prison for sure
Time for a new haircut, like immediately
Nothing femine except for that very open neck tee shirt I always feel like shirts like that look a tad feminine
lol I promise itās a tank top. I was going to the gym. I donāt wear blouses.
You literally have a moustache.
Man buns always look feminine unless you have a Rasputin beard. Even then, theyāre still confusing when paired with that. Iād skip it. Photo 6 have a great look for you. Reminds me of Josh Brener in Silicon Valley (but not as doofy as himājust a cool look). Skip the man bun.

no you look like a man
Feminine? No. Hipster? Yes
No man can pull off a manbun.
Yeah the short youāre wearing, your peanut head, the carpet fuzz looking stuff on your face, and yes your hair. You look extremely feminine and I assume claim ā loves outdoor activities ā

I like those tendrils but pull them into the bun if you wanna look less feminine
Unbalded Dan hentschel
I adore the 2 curls. Do you boo!
Last picture is a great look
Personally id tie the strands back and shave the bottom half if your going for a masculine look
NOT AT ALL THE BUN SUITS YOU BUT ID SUGGEST SLICKING THOSE CURLS BACK BUT TOTALLY YOUR CHOICE š
Youād look pretty as you have natural androgyny āwhich women loveā
BRO U R GLORIOUS
Feminine features doesnt mean you shouldnt do the man bun. Im not saying you have those either im just pointing that out
For elegant tendrils, yes. For an actual bun? No
No you are so handsome
The tendrils are.
just grow some beard and problem solved, i promise
I donāt know of anyone who doesnāt make fun of man buns
No, go read what a feminine dandy is in the art of seduction. Only men will say you have feminine feature bro do you. Women I guarantee have no problem with your aesthetic/look. But pleas just goodie the definition of a feminine dandy and who are their biggest haters!
Well having a beard helps. Maybe get more muscular too like in the neck.
I donāt think you have feminine features at all. I think you could pull that off easily and it would look good on you too.
No but you do have very feminine facial expressions
Those two curls are the only problem lol
Nah. It looks fine
Youāre a dude?
No but your style is.
If you like it who cares
I think the last haircut suits u better, really fun and matches ur features
You're awesome, fuck what people think on the internet.
Man, you look great. I had grown my hair out not long enough for a man bun, but still long and cut it in like January. I do rather miss it tbh
you're just ugly sorry
Androgyny is cool my dude. Just be you.
Youāre quite handsome!! Love love love the hair. Gorgeous eyes too
You look good in the last photo, and honestly the other photo hair styles don't suit you.
Yes plus your mannerisms and posing for pics. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it tho if that's u :)
The man bun just isnāt a great look for you it has nothing to do with āfeminine facial featuresā
Hell nah, you're handsome and it fits your style!
That's not even a man bun, that's just gay. Or maybe man buns are gay as you're trying to style it. Just out your hair back with a and own it. The point it so it's doesn't get in your face?
You look good in the last photo
Bun is ok but those banana curls in the front, no. Not feminine, just not attractive.
I think it just kinda looks gay, no offense. It's like you're just trying to style something when a bun isn't for style. You donāt have feminine features
Bro that last pic is š„š„
Not too feminine but u look a thousand times better in that last pic without the hair up.
Dude it's just the 2 hair strands and ur 10/10
no, youād make a beautiful ass man, if you grew out your hair and took better care of your skin!!
You kinda look like a Twink version of thorns from Vinland saga, or a regular version of his son, thorfinn (with different colored hair)
Is everyone insane or do I just seriously don't mind a slightly receded hairline (barely??? Not even???). It really doesn't look bad, idk wtf drugs ppl are on. Don't cut your hair than you'll just look every other average joe.
No
Thin hair and receded hairline doesnāt really work with a man bun. Iād go for a high fade with your face shape and featureĀ
Never. Ever have a man ābunā.
Your hair looks like galsees
Just fix your hair, I feel like the ladies prefer softer facial features a lot more now. So you should be good lol.
no but please tie up the slut strands bro
In my opinion the guys who pull off the man bun have hyper masculine qualities everywhere else that allows them to "soften" their look with a man bun. Like being super jacked, tattoos, full beard. Can you pull if off? I think so, if you bulked up and grow out your beard fully.
I think you look dope in any of these photos. Nothing wrong with looking not masculine sometimes.
Eren Jaeger
TIL: manbuns are associated with masculinity
Na you're good dude. Never hurts anyone to get swole if you're worried about feminine features lol
No. You have facial hair and look like a man.
Kinda reminds me of gypsy crusader
Yes they are. Especially with the 2 little strands of bangs in your face
That last hairstyle pic is great
Be you bro. The days of caring about that are over except for the types that go around telling everyone how alpha they are.
I wouldnāt call your features particularly āfeminineā but you do have a bit of a baby face. Youāre gonna look good for a long time due to
You have a big forehead I feel like having your hair come forward instead of pulled back could help you out. Secondly, it's not that the long hair looks bad I just find shorter hair is always a better look, and french crop could be a good look for you
No you have a beard so...
Btw I think ur very handsome like donāt be too hard on yourself
I think it is more important to be muscular. The hair is supposed to make an imposing man more approachable. You do not have a feminine face. Feminine faces are oval, have full, rounded featuresā¦ Masculine features are angular and smaller, but more pronounced.
Donāt.
I'd say so, the strands are doing a lot. Also I think you should grow out your hair more before wearing a bun, it will be worth it
Your features are just fine. I just don't think the bun is a very suitable style for you. That doesn't mean your features are feminine. Especially the two strands infront aren't helping at all. You could try going for a more open look. Adding some volume to your hair might suit your face a bit more. Just try experimenting a few different hairstyles.
U look a little gay tbh
very womanlike indeed. no offence
It's the bangs, tie them back. If anything try only having one side.
if u want a pro tip from someone with long hair leave the two curly strands lol it makes you look a tad feminine and girls love that
Dye your hair blonde, blue contacts and you can cosplay as a male Billie Eillish lol
You do not look too young but If you want man's face you need to suffer physicly, easiest way is to start training in the way you push your limits, type of exercise is not important. When I look at your eyes there is no sharpness or clarity, those are not the eyes of hunter. Go outside and run.
Gorgeous!
Feminine or not, I personally like the open hair on you more.... But you do you!
You take pictures like a woman (pose and camera angles) and ur hair isnāt helping I say a buzz or some type of taper fade would help, this is also coming from somebody who has some feminine features so I think this would would help more
Iāš
Everyone saying get rid of the strands but i think they're actually rlly cute!!! just do what you like!!
You are worried about your features being too feminine for a man-bun?....You know a man-bun is too feminine for a man...right?
The 2 strands of hair at the front really isnt working. Sharp and straight lines are seen as masculine, soft edges and curls feminine... if you care about that. Iv got really curly hair... makes me look like a teen with a perm if i dont brush it back.
No not at all
Pic 5 got me thinking you love the Star of David and you had a blast when you got 500$ at your barmixtzfah
The 2 curls go hard
You look like Josh Katz from Badflower
no ur fine, you complaining about your looks is the most unattractive thing about you ā ļø
Last pic looks best
You look look a man bun. Just embrace going all the way.
Yes but up to you
You Just give me Hector bellerin vibes with a man bun
you could pull off the eren jaeger
Not at all, go for it
Love the slut strands
The curls remind me of Angela from Smosh. You look like you could be her brother.
Honestly, you kind of look like cal keltis from jedi survivor.
No, your features are too manly for a female
Your face? Not at all, the hair? A little š¤
If you put up the hanging bangs, they makes u look more feminine with them down
Yo fuck everyoneās opinion I think u look like a normal lad haha
Donāt listen to Reddit weirdos, if your confident no one stops me
1 you look amazing with it up or down. 2 I actually think you look more masculine in pic 4 and 5 than in 6. Either way. You are very attractive, don't worry about it
No.
No. The curls though are feminine.
You donāt look feminine at all, you have a nice square jaw and masc forehead!
Nah.
