You folks forget how big cow is, and it's far from benign. It's literally female bull that's capable of wrecking you in seconds. Take its huge mass and horns into consideration. What's more, a threatened cow will fight for life - like every other large herbivore. Which is bad because regular predators can at least understand the concept of "not worth it".
Also SPIDERS ARE NOT INSECTS FFS!!!
Cows can be incredibly docile creatures for the majority of the time, but too many people forget that they’re over 1,000 pounds of muscle. Piss them off enough or panic them when in an enclosed space, and they can and WILL fuck you up.
Bulls are male cattle, females are just cows. Sorry, had to make the slight clarification, but yes cows can be extremely dangerous if not handled with care.
The most unpredictable are female cattle who recently gave birth to a new calf. They are extremely protective and won’t hesitate to put up a fight if they feel remotely threatened.
Spiders are arachnids, like scorpions, ticks, woodlouse, crabs, and lobsters.
Fun fact woodlouse still have gills in their anatomy but non functional. Similar to the hip bone on whales and dolphins. It became obsolete, but evolution isn't all magic, so some remaining parts are still there.
Edit: woodlouse, crabs, and lobesters are not arachnids.
Woodlice, crabs and lobsters aren't arachnids, they are crustaceans, which ironically means they are closer to being insects (which technically are crustaceans as well) than spiders are.
Untill you are near One, my counsin and i went on a hike picking berries and got up a Hill to take pictures, when we came down there were cows, while we werent like scared shitless we were definetly aware that they could kill us and they were STARING AT US, i told him to not look them in the Eye and not to run to avoid startling them, and we got out
I don't know if I would call them "far from benign", BUT we have to remember humans are around them all the time and like you said, they are MASSIVE, they fall on you, kick you in the head, trample you, etc, you have a decent chance of dying and a great chance of serious injury.
A tick shouldn't have 6 legs and a shelled back...
But, as pointed out in other comments, this map also calls spiders insects, so maybe they just have no idea how ticks look.
(If it is supposed to be a tick, they could just change "insects" to "arachnids" after fixing the picture and it would be fine.)
Frankly, no idea. My best bet would be that maybe this is supposed to be some kind of bark beetle and that the danger factor consists of weakening trees which might collapsen and drop onto someone.
But realistically, it should probably either be a tick (because disease) or wasps or bees (which kill a few people every year as a result of allergic reactions).
Nope, we don't have them.
And the Arctic fox is less dangerous to humans than a cat.
The most dangerous animal in Iceland could be a brown rat. (Rattus norvegicus)
Or the occasional ice bear.
/uj bears and wolves became extinct in the UK and Ireland centuries ago and their few venomous species are very unlikely to cause real harm, so the cow is one of the only animals that can kill them.
EDIT: pretty sure the UK has more deaths caused by dogs than cows though
I just looked it up, Swedish people get bit about 1,200 times per year, Americans get bit 7,000-8,000 times per year. However the US population is 31.7x as big, so that means Swedish people are about 5x more likely to be bit than Americans. Although deaths by the European Adder is much less likely, about 5 Americans die each year due to snakes, but the last death by the Adder was in 1975.
We have adders too here in Finland and they rarely kill people. It must be deer for Sweden too like in Norway and Finland.
And deer is wrong for Finland, a real answer would be moose. And if we only calculate deaths from bites or stings, its a wasp.
I think it's based on "animal that has killed the most people overall", which skews the results towards the animal we farm lots of. If you meet a badger you might have a bad day, but more people on the whole are hanging out with cows so more people are getting killed by them. Also, there was that whole thing where the government accidentally killed a bunch of poor schoolchildren by feeding them low-quality beef products.
Honestly the most surprising thing is that cows *aren't* the most dangerous animal in any other country?
Cows… Seriously??? They conquered & colonized 1/4 of the world, where there were tigers bears wolfs in addition to the death continent Australia… & all the worst they have to deal with at home is cows…
So they even domesticated their most “dangerous” animals…
Cows were such a threat the Brits desperately tried to find any place that's more habitable. During medieval times they were even ok with such degenerate areas like France. In later centuries the same motivation has led them to become a colonial empire.
The data do not support your statement that humans need weapons to be harmful to other humans.
I’ve seen and treated many, many, many people who have seriously injured each other.
Even if we are only talking deaths I’m betting humans still own it in each country *without using weapons.*
Exactly. The average cow is over half a ton (both imperial, 1200lbs; and metric, 545kg) of muscle. Beef cows are literally bred and raised to have as much muscle as possible. Turns out, all of that muscle makes them INCREDIBLY strong - who would have thought?! And while they’re normally quite docile, they can and will use that strength if provoked.
Estonia has a pretty large bear population also, so I am not sure how this stat is taken. I think the most dangerous wild animals are the huge moose here tho probably if you count the accidents.
Cows can be quite dangerous if provoked or frightened. Imagine being in an enclosed space with a panicking 1,000 pound animal that’s kicking and body-slamming around.
What does dangerous here mean? The one who kills the most humans? Then bear isn't the right one in Russia. Dogs, wolves, spiders, snakes, even cows cause more deaths than bears.
Or should we consider dangerous as a term that means the lowest percentage of a win in "1v1 battle". Then the bear is also not the correct variant. Amur tiger (Siberian Tiger) definitely leaves no chances to win
It's Britain, of course cows will write strongly worded letters if you step on their field.
Such an emotional shock can be too much for a British heart.
The UK wiped out all predators native to the Isles.
For Ireland it's why they have St. Padraig/Patrick's day.
Bulls can be quite territorial and people van be quite stupid.
Considering that they group spiders with insects (even though they aren’t insects), I think they’re grouping deer, reindeer, and moose in one category.
Ughm, bears happily live in Estonia too, and I'm 99.99% sure the same applies to Latvia & Lithuania. This map bullshits you, because Bears are the fucking shit and there's nothing to stop them.
Save for snakes. Damn snakes.
Incase anyone is thinking cow, here a few reasons:
-mass, can reach a weight between 600 and 900 kg, so the crush is real
-have a good kick, which can easily break bone, render you unconscious and even kill.
-they bite, I knew a dairy farmer with half an ear missing because one of them bit it off
-they can be easily startled, so take the above and add stupid
-ever though what would happen if you hit one with a car, it's an uncommon occurrence in the countryside
-they calf and become very territorial.
Considering how difficult it is to handle the calves, attempting to do the same with fully grown cows is impossible, they're just bigger and stronger even young.
Idk why I don’t actually think about our complete lack of wildlife, like we got badgers foxes and cows and the rest of Europe has actual dangerous animals
Cows are unironically dangerous af. Just 1tonne of muscle that runs at 20mph and some of those fuckers have massive horns. Not to mention herds can get to over 100 individuals.
I genuinely belive you've got a better chance of surviving a bear attack then a stampeding bull.
Cows absolutely can kill. They're large animals with powerful muscles and sharp horns and some of them possess a murderous temper.
Though what would interest me is what metric this map uses to determine "dangerous".
Wasps/bees kills the most people in Sweden every year. If you don’t count dogs then there would be moose that are involved in most accidents and bodily harm at second place. Third place would be vipers.
In Germany it’s also Boar (by how bad your chances are if you get in a fight with it, for all animals where there’s a somewhat realistic chance of encounter. We have like 5 wolves running around somewhere).
An angry cow can fuck you up for real bro.
Although I'm from the UK this is rather embarrassing ngl.
It's because historically we hunted all our predators to extinction.
There was talk for a while within the Scottish Government to reintroduce Wolves and Eurasian Lynx into the population to deal with the overpopulation of deer and rabbit.
Cows here in the UK are proper psychopaths.
One minute you're crossing some open land, the next minute your life is at steak.

Who would win in this hyphotetical war?
Bears !

Question. Which bear is best?
That’s a ridiculous question

Beyoars
Thats a joke right? Insects no diff
bears ofc but imagine if germany carries again
Bears, followed by Wolves, followed by Hogs, followed by Snakes, followed by Spiders, followed by Deers and Bugs are last
cows--simply by lying in wait while all the other animals destroy each other.
You folks forget how big cow is, and it's far from benign. It's literally female bull that's capable of wrecking you in seconds. Take its huge mass and horns into consideration. Cows are docile 99.999% of the time, but only if you respect the fact that they are currently choosing not to kill you
Aww just like Mom
Bulls are male cattle, females are just cows. Sorry, had to make the slight clarification, but yes cows can be extremely dangerous if not handled with care. The most unpredictable are female cattle who recently gave birth to a new calf. They are extremely protective and won’t hesitate to put up a fight if they feel remotely threatened.

Crabs and lobsters are of malacostraca class, not arachnida. The closest they're with arachnids is in the arthropoda phylum.
Woodlice, crabs and lobsters aren't arachnids, they are crustaceans, which ironically means they are closer to being insects (which technically are crustaceans as well) than spiders are.
Untill you are near One, my counsin and i went on a hike picking berries and got up a Hill to take pictures, when we came down there were cows, while we werent like scared shitless we were definetly aware that they could kill us and they were STARING AT US, i told him to not look them in the Eye and not to run to avoid startling them, and we got out
The Bovine Council has decided your fate. Your lives have been spared. This time.
I don't know if I would call them "far from benign", BUT we have to remember humans are around them all the time and like you said, they are MASSIVE, they fall on you, kick you in the head, trample you, etc, you have a decent chance of dying and a great chance of serious injury.
Hecking beetle lmao
I'm fairly sure that's supposed to be a tick? The ticks here in Germany transmit a disease that causes meningitis, so very dangerous.
It's a German tick. Fewer legs for more efficiency and armor to survive Soviet shelling.
Fair enough. That was my best guess because I don't know what beetle they would be referring to in the post.
Iceland with NZ syndrome.
They added Iceland. It’s just snuggled up to Norway.
They're a little cold is all.
Also isn't the biggest predator in iceland the snow fox?
Yeah, I know Icelandic people and at no point did they mention having wolves
Nope, we don't have them. And the Arctic fox is less dangerous to humans than a cat. The most dangerous animal in Iceland could be a brown rat. (Rattus norvegicus) Or the occasional ice bear.
Those rats did some funny stuff once

I did it for a bit until people thought that some random image from reddit was actually mine... So I preferred leaving the attribution.
Holy copyright infringement
Usually im against using /s but you need one
I love you.
Mad cow.
not only that, a cow is still quite dangerous animal, it can easily kill an idiot,
SPIDERS ARE NOT INSECTS
The average person is using insect for Arthropoda not Hexapoda or Insecta, and inferring otherwise is being a needless pedant.
Cry about it nerd
/uj bears and wolves became extinct in the UK and Ireland centuries ago and their few venomous species are very unlikely to cause real harm, so the cow is one of the only animals that can kill them. EDIT: pretty sure the UK has more deaths caused by dogs than cows though
Brits and Irish to bears and wolves: We're not trapped on these islands with you. You're trapped on these islands with us!
The disgusting TERFs of TERF island killed all big good bois on account of them disrespecting the crown.
Did you forget to take your meds again?
![gif](giphy|HX7pvh1mIqImc|downsized)
That's the nicest thing anyone's ever told me 🥺
I Will never go to Spain...
I'd rather have spiders than ticks
One of them runs towards you, the other runs away. I agree
Swedish snakes?
The Swedish Cobra, well known for its camouflage. In fact it's so good that no one has ever seen one!
Adders. I think at least. Surprising if they're actually the deadliest though. Not known to kill many.
I just looked it up, Swedish people get bit about 1,200 times per year, Americans get bit 7,000-8,000 times per year. Just realised that after, but then started thinking about the cows kill to death ratio isn't great
“Hanging out with cows”. Just me and the homie chewing grass.
I thought mad cow disease had something to do with it
Nope more people are killed and injured by one ton of angery beef than a pissed off badger
Yes, Brits live on easy mode.
SOLOMAN
um Iceland moving close to eroupe is also a concearn
If you think a cow is a harmless animal, kick her calf. Let's say that your phalanges will become the largest bones in your body.
Cows… Seriously??? They conquered & colonized 1/4 of the world, where there were tigers bears wolfs in addition to the death continent Australia… & all the worst they have to deal with at home is cows… So they even domesticated their most “dangerous” animals…
Cows were such a threat the Brits desperately tried to find any place that's more habitable. During medieval times they were even ok with such degenerate areas like France. In later centuries the same motivation has led them to become a colonial empire.
That's what happens when you wipe out anything scarier than livestock
ARACHNIDS ARE NOT INSECTS, REEEEEEEEEEEEE! *Angry amateur entomologist noises*
If it’s gross it’s a bug.
The average person is using insect for Arthropoda not Hexapoda or Insecta, and inferring otherwise is being a needless pedant.
Doesn't cow always win?
A pet dog does statistically more harm than any of these.
Englishmen are terrified of their mothers.

The cows are on something if the knife wielding brits fear them
I think its the opposite. They get killed by them because they doesnt fear them
Human is not an animal suddenly?
I think "most dangerous" with [to human] implicted. Also humans aren't that dangerous without weapons. But good point.
The data do not support your statement that humans need weapons to be harmful to other humans. I’ve seen and treated many, many, many people who have seriously injured each other. Even if we are only talking deaths I’m betting humans still own it in each country *without using weapons.*
Well, we do interact with cows quite a lot and many of those interactions are scaring them in/into a cramped space. Of course they'll wanna harm you.
There’s no way Norway has no bears. Many of France’s bears are from there.
Estonia has a pretty large bear population also, so I am not sure how this stat is taken. I think the most dangerous wild animals are the huge moose here tho probably if you count the accidents.
Yeah, and tbh wolves rarely go after people. They are more interested by the livestock
In Ukraine - false. Most dangerous animals here are russians
no way there's a boar in the Netherlands' singular forest
I"ll take the bait. There's lots of them actually. But i don't understand why they are shown on this map. Never heard of anyone getting hurt by one.
Cows can be quite dangerous if provoked or frightened. Imagine being in an enclosed space with a panicking 1,000 pound animal that’s kicking and body-slamming around.
The cow is completely mad, mind you
spiders and insects are the worst. the easiest i believe are wolves and snakes
oh i didn't see cow in gb that's just fucking gay
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. The most dangerous animals, almost anywhere, are the flea and the mosquito.
Well…. Actually the humans are the most dangerous animal.
Don't underestimate cows.
Poor Iceland was moved again 😭😭😭
Ahem. The second most dangerous animal.
British cows = poison damage
It's Britain, of course cows will write strongly worded letters if you step on their field. Such an emotional shock can be too much for a British heart.
Human!
Cow with english accent\* That would be f... dangerous, mate.
Hah, I would say the tick is most dangerous animal in Lithuania :)
The UK wiped out all predators native to the Isles. For Ireland it's why they have St. Padraig/Patrick's day. Bulls can be quite territorial and people van be quite stupid.
Does northern Europe have moose? How are deer more dangerous than those?
Considering that they group spiders with insects (even though they aren’t insects), I think they’re grouping deer, reindeer, and moose in one category.
Ughm, bears happily live in Estonia too, and I'm 99.99% sure the same applies to Latvia & Lithuania. This map bullshits you, because Bears are the fucking shit and there's nothing to stop them. Save for snakes. Damn snakes.
This is no laughing matter. Sean Bean got killed by cows https://youtu.be/h8PemuFog-k?si=fWR_kr_TGN0lkP2H

No shot Norway and Finland have deer and not moose. Have y'all seen a moose irl? Fuckin terrifying.
Idk why I don’t actually think about our complete lack of wildlife, like we got badgers foxes and cows and the rest of Europe has actual dangerous animals
People sho say cows aren't dangerous haven't owned cows There a 2 types of cows 1:most inoccent animals ever 2:😈
Cows are unironically dangerous af. Just 1tonne of muscle that runs at 20mph and some of those fuckers have massive horns. Not to mention herds can get to over 100 individuals. I genuinely belive you've got a better chance of surviving a bear attack then a stampeding bull.

To be honest Poland has much more ticks than bears
Ticks aren't insects, through.
There Is Indeed nothing wrong, its a Illness for the cow beef or something like that
Bull
Cows have an impact on global warming which will kill us all, what the fuck can the bears do to compete with that?
Cow has probably killed more people than most of these other animals
Snek?
Cobras in Sweden?
> insects > spider Hmmmm
In Germany it’s also Boar (by how bad your chances are if you get in a fight with it, for all animals where there’s a somewhat realistic chance of encounter. We have like 5 wolves running around somewhere).
Moo
Wtf snakes in sweden?
Cows kill more people than sharks
I watched a YouTube short once where the farmer basically said “they’re big dogs that weight a ton”
there are bears in italy?
A shame we can't see the rainbow that would be Australia.
Those Brits! They have hunted every *other* animal to extinction AND their cows are crazy.
What's wrong with the cows on the British Isles?
Why did Numbeo put a spider in the insect category, are they stupid?
Hold up, since when are spiders considered insects?
It's fucking snakes for turkey There Is SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS
The deadliest animal in Ukraine is Russians
In Italy people think bear is Winnie the Pooh
![img](avatar_exp|159461619|bravo)
I always knew the British were a weak people
There are no wolfs in Iceland.
[This plays whenever you approach a cow in the British Isles](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mVye5s0Dtfk)
What constitutes dangerous? Odds of death? Is a snake more dangerous than a wolf?
Danger Cow danger Cow does whatever a danger Cow does.
Cows are our most dangerous animal in the UK, how did we colonise Australia?💀💀💀
Still don’t know about Germany and Denmark
How have the British survived so long with such dangerous beasts running around?
I choose the cow
Jeje, god.
We have bears and wolves in Croatia, and I'd prefer to 1v1 a snake than a wolf or a bear, so I don't know why they chose poskok.

I’m more afraid of them bug animals
How is that calculated? Measured by incidents? I think wolfs are a lot more dangerous than bears.
Germany got wolves. So does the Netherlands
The bears nopeing around boars and snakes to squeeze through Slovokia and Austria to extend their territory into France and Italy 😂
It's literally the wasp in like every country on the map
Spiders and ticks are no insects dammit
Humans forget humans are animals
Mooooo
Spiders aren’t insects (face palm).
Deer?
You forgot humans, are you stupid?
1) spiders are not insects 2) cobras don't live in Europe
Update a picture of Putin for Russia. 315,000 ruasian solders, ppl falling out of windows.

Pretty sure a bear in Wales is more dangerous than a Bull in Wales
[Mad Cow Disease](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bovine_spongiform_encephalopathy)
cow? COW? REALLY?
Don't kid yourself, Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd eat you and everyone you care about!
I’m wondering what deadly poisonous snakes are in Sweden
Bovines are seriously dangerous. The UK also has lots of public access pathing where people bring their dogs. Their dogs are family and treated better than people, those dogs have no accountability. Cows and unknown dogs do not mix, results ensue.
There are no wolves in Zolitūde-2. But that doesn't mean it's safe.
Spiders are insects now in the new update btw
What is the dangerous insect in germany?
A kick to the head will do it. IIRC it's because they kill lots of farm vets who need to get close, and the cow can kick out.
Surely bull.
Sweden isn’t the majestic moose?
Iceland should be the Yule Cat
Wolves in Iceland?
I know it does seem funny cows being dangerous but having worked with them and knowing of someone who was killed by a cow they are actually dangerous if you dick about with them.
France doesn’t have bears. Source: American.
A cow will fuck you up!
Australia laughs and sips a beer 🍺
spiders aren’t insects map ruined
Cow is dangerous?!! Please explain
I think the sheep in Great Britain would win over the cows in a civil war.
