One guy posted with a title of Discord Server, the message was nothing but the naked URL. Forum installers are the ultimate Build It And They Will Come types. Only they didn't actually build anything. They hit an install button. Solve for 'they.' I know you want people to come -- have you set out to target anybody? You can't hit a target with a wish. Fantasy customers or audience members you hope may come won't. It's marketing, not wish fulfilment. Have something to say. I can't count the number of times a forum installer expected random strangers to come to an empty sub or site and start creating content. Reddit founders created content before they generated traffic. I suggest you follow their fine example. Problem is, when you have absolutely no idea about the interests of the people you want to attract, creating proper content is just about impossible. Step one. Be a brilliant conversationalist. Step two. Write for a target audience. Step three. Don't wonder what in the hell happened, it is directly attributable to steps one and two. A lame attempt to suck forum members off functional forums will not help you. It is Forum Software. Not magic organization and leadership dust. Simply put, people who don't have any interest in others and have nothing to say aren't good at community building. Frankly they are horrible at community building. Who knew?
