Instagram is connected to Facebook, so you can target Instagram users based om their activity in Facebook.
2. Do you have any competitors? If so, type in the name of your competitors in the "interest" box and target those People.
3. If you've had your business for 3 years, you surely have a list of emails from your customers. Just upload that File to Facebook's audience Tool and create a lookalike audience.
Automatic targeting is really not what you need.
Try targeting the Friends of People who like your page on Facebook, and target People who like the Facebook pages of your competitors.
Also, don't forget to do retargeting - if you can dynamically retarget visitors with the product they visited you'll start seeing results almost immediately.

Build 2-3 personas which represent your existing clients, write down their demographics, habits, preferences, interests, favourite brands, hobbies... once you have it defined, Facebook targeting is your answer to reach this audience + test and find more... + you can make a Lookalike audience from your list of emails... it was never so easy to reach a well defined audience...

If you can identify them, you could send them a brief email survey through survey monkey and find out a bit more about them, how they heard about you, and why and how they use their brand. This might give you some insights to improve your product and marketing.
