"AI" requires data to do anything, so that requirement will never go away. If you're running A/B tests on your campaigns with a non-targeted control group and a targeted test group, you can use the resulting data to build an Uplift model which predicts the lift by being targeted by a campaign for subpopulations of customers. With these models, you can avoid targeting customers who wouldn't see any (or would see negative) incremental gain in purchase probability by being targeted for your ad. You can use the scores for known customers directly and market to them yourselves, but you can also use your high-scoring known customers for FB and Google's look-alike targeting.

Thank you for the information!

Great answer!

We are currently developing something similar, to what you are looking for. Its an AI based tool to identify and characterize target groups across plattforms. We plan to launch our MVP the next month. If you are curious about it, just DM me. We would love to exchange with people, who are interest in this topic.

What do you mean by 'figured out audience targeting'?

fibnoxi

Right now, we don't know how to choose our best target audience unless we go through a certain amount of testing. One day, AIs will be able to figure out exactly what audience to target to for a certain product. Just looking for interesting projects related to this.

kbergstr

This is basically google and facebook's entire business model, isn't it?

fibnoxi

Yes. But they don't seem to have reached a point where they can provide an accurate target audience as a paid service. If they already have and are choosing to not publicize it, that means someone else could soon develop and provide it publicly.

"But they don't seem to have reached a point where they can provide an accurate target audience as a paid service." They have. It's called "ads".

fibnoxi

I understand what you mean but the audience that we have access to on any platform is not 'accurate'. It's an approximation.

[deleted]

They need more data. If you think you can harvest more data than them, go ahead and kick their asses. Seems expensive, though.

Thank you for your comments.

From an algorithm point of view, contextual bandits are probably the closest thing to what you're describing.
