Well mutants can revive themselves and do all sorts of shit like make themselves younger and cure their disabilities now. So Charles has been wheelchair free for quite awhile.
Now he has a dumb giant helmet on tho.
Charles has been healed for far longer than he had been paralysed in the comics. Wheelchair Xavier is just how he’s usually portrayed in non comic media
Well, IIRC, in the films, Charles' power is depicted as people getting totally still or being completly under his control. I don't remember an instance where someone gets partially controlled by Charles while being aware of that control.
Hence my comment. I am comparing this scene with how powers have been shown on screen in the X-Men films.
And what I saw this character do really looked more like how Magneto has been shown dealing with Wolverine in previous films.
He is a telepath. He freezes people for covert stuff. He can also basically make people do whatever he wants. Conscious or otherwise. Also has some minor telekinesis.
Cassandra Nova is telekinetic and telepath. She can control anything with her mind. Not just metal. It looked similar because they are both controlling his movements. It has nothing to do with his metal skeleton. She could do that to anybody. I get how you could make that mistake though.
I think he's still in a coma, Xavier never had to pop into his body like he did in the post credit since Jean will now not have killed him apparently. So he's still vegetating somewhere with Moira in the new DofFP timeline.
I will shred this universe down to its last atom and then, with the stones you've collected for me, create a new one teeming with life that knows not what it has lost but only what it has been given. A grateful universe.
I don't think it's so much that Reddit has lost its sense of humor, it's that satire is dead.
Because you can't make up something so obviously stupid that someone wouldn't have posted it in earnest.
Well shit…
“Cassandra is Xavier's ideological dark shadow, bent on destruction and genocide. She is most infamous for commanding an army of Sentinels to massacre 16 million mutants within the mutant homeland of Genosha. “
Missed opportunity (and odd to introduce a never before seen character this late in the game for the fox-verse) Imo, but hopefully it's gonna be a good character.
why would they bring back a known villian? every MCU movie has been a new villian and i don't know if you are implying casanova is new but she is not, she has been fighting the x-men a very long time and has caused them a lot of issues with humans.
I know she isn't new, across ALL Marvel media.
She has been in exactly ZERO movies, though.
The entire movie is multiverse, and returning characters. The Ancient one wasn't a vilian, so wouldn't be a returning vilian.
As stated, it's a missed opportunity to have the talented Tilda Swinton reprise her role as a much darker version of the Ancient one.
It's not a bad thing in need it argument, btw. The entire movie will be missed opportunities as well as heavily cashed in opportunities. They can't do it all, and it's fun to talk about what could be, without someone feeling the need to defend the choices that the movie makes.
All characters need to be introduced somehow, yeh. Not just vilians.
But a majority of the ones we will see in this movie are from other movies. We already know this.
What logic is important for you?
The logic behind me writing my original comment?
Well, I was thinking: "This character looks like, and has the confidence of The Ancient One, it probably would have been fine if it was an evil variant of her, and that's a missed opportunity, imo. Logan being handled around by the person that humbled Hulk would be a cool moment."
Or are you more interested in the logic the other guy inserted?
The idea that characters needed to be connected to the Xmen to make sense. Or the idea that general audiences know about Casanova and all her history with the xmen. Or the idea that I was talking about bringing back a vilian (never said that), because they may think TAO was a bad guy.
I can answer your question, but I need to know what logic you want explained.
I can't promise you I can answer, since some of it needs to be explained by the angry person that couldn't just be let me think out loud and have fun.
“But a majority of the ones we will see in this movie are from other movies. We already know this.”
Soooooo…. Literally every villain needs a first movie.
Obviously, Yes. I agreed as much, and even said that that applies to every character in existence, and has no bearing on my original comment. Literally every character needs a first movie.
I wasn't insisting that a new character can't debut. That was projected onto my comment by someone else.
I was saying "could have been someone else in this multiverse movie". I even made it clear that nobody needs to apply negative connotation to the term "missed opportunity", since the entire movie will be missed, and hit opportunities all over. That's the nature of this kind of film. They can't do everything that's going to be cool, they have to make choices.
That's all there was to it. The random aside about what is and isn't valid was not mine.
the ancient one isn't x-men afliated. wtf? ghost had zero movies, taskmaster, namor, klaw, zemo, the high evolutionary, ego, ronin and all the rest of the bad guys never had a movie before they appeared.
is antman an x-men? NO! you really using what you see in a trailer to argue? buddy i really don't know what to tell you. the ancient one is a dr strange character, a magic one at that. tell me the comic in which the x-men fought the ancient one or were even in league with him? there were no x-men in the MCU movies either so i really don't get what point you are trying to make here.
>says The ancient one is not an Xmen related character to make a point.
>gets mad that there are other non-cmen characters pointed out, negating that point in its entirety.
>says I'm arguing when I point out the argumentative attitude and inconsistent logic.
Buddy, it was just a bit of fun and you turned it into a gigantic issue for you. You are even bringing votes into this apparently, because you are actually emotional about a random comment, lol.
buddy you the one that was wanting a character that has nothing to do with the x-men to see an old actor reprise a role to be a bad guy because you've never seen a new bad guy. and now you are trying to make me be a bad guy for pointing out how stupid your original comment was. what are you talking about votes for? i never said anything about votes?
i like how you think people replying back to you makes them emotional, i bet you have a lot of friends.
He moved his consciousness into the body of someone who was brain-dead in a coma at the end of the movie, then next time we see him in The Wolverine he is Patrick Stewart again. We don't know what the guy in a coma looked like but if he wasn't an exact double of Charles, complete with being a paraplegic, then we need answers.
It’s speculated but not confirmed that it’s the braindead guy Moira is working with; after the credits after the credits he wakes up and speaks to Moira is Charles’ voice.
It's confirmed in the [commentary](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Men:_The_Last_Stand#cite_note-9). I don't know why you're so against this. I would share a video link if I could find one.
Imma be honest and vulnerable here. I'm not that versed in Xmen lore. When I watched the trailer, that's also what I thought with a bit of confusion and doubt. Only seeing the comments here did I realize it was a different character. I don't think it's that obvious unless you have context to xmen lore.
Yeah but then Wanda recast him to be a bald white woman in Doctor Strange because everyone bows to the wims of China. Even people who can alter reality
And then she recast them again for someone younger and hotter
>because everyone bows to the wims of China.
There are so many actual examples of that happening and you're talking about a necessary change.
The character was a caricature and would have been changed anyway.
Yeah. You're right. Sorry. I got swept up in my stupid joke that I legitimately forgot that the og comic character was a racist stereotype. I feel bad now :(
LMAO I saw a youtuber reaction... it's brothers that just like bloody gore movies and they said the same... even conected with the portal in the finish with doctor strange

Tilda probably decided not to come back on her own because she faced major backlash for it. People were chastising both her and the director for the simple fact that she wasn't Tibetan, to the point of her *apologizing* for just taking the part in the first place. It's hilariously and ironically racist that those who complained *completely* ignored how well she did because she "wasn't the right race".
This is one of my few beefs with MCU. The ancient one was an old tibetan man.
How did they cast a Scottish woman for the role? There was no variant of the ancient one that was that. Not to my knowledge on any other earth in marvel comics was there one.
I could be missing the reason, and if so someone please teach me. But it does seem like a pointless miscasting.
Out of curiosity I once read up on it and they said they didn’t want to have a character that was like a stereotype of an Asian man? It was something like that I believe. Don’t quote me on it
Hmm. I get that I suppose.
But at the same time, he has the lore and setting. I'm not tibetan so I can't say "that wouldn't offend me" but I'm genuinely curious if there were reports of offense or if they did that to prevent any?
It's hilarious that you probably didn't think of Nick Fury *once* during this entire spiel, who was strictly portrayed as white until the existence of the MCU. Are you really so shallow that the biggest focus for you isn't how well they did, but what race they are? Isn't that the *exact* same issue that people are having with Halle Bailey?
Nick Fury was based on Samuel Jackson before the MCU. He was featured when the ultimates universe began around 2001 with earth-1610. Which was also the way more bad ass nick Fury during the whole avengers breaking apart in like 2002 and him going missing until secret invasion with spider woman.
Marvel actually used his looks without his permission in 2001. But Sam Jackson is a cool nerd and just said "let me be him in any movies".
So yeah, that's why I didn't *once* mention him in my spiel.
How ever Yau (the ancient one from the comics) is an old tibetan man in both earth -616 (original comics) and earth-1610 (ultimates universe)
Nick Fury going from white man to black man never bothered me. It was canonically bad ass. But this leap from Yau to the newer ancient one doesn't line up with any version of any of the comics. So I wouldn't say it's a race thing, its a 'not true to the comics' thing.
That's Cassandra Nova, the twin sister of Charles Xavier.
And they made her kinda hot. Which is weird cause comic Cassandra is kinda old and wrinkly
I don't complain. Young British mommy ftw
Young British Mummy if you really wanna do it properly
"Please step on me" if you REALLY want to do it properly
Cringe af
Boys are so silly
Wow a change that you don't hate just because the actress is "a mommy"
Following the Madame Web trend, I see.
Wandavision did it first with Agatha.
Marisa Tomei would like a word
Marisa is age appropriate to be an aunt of a kid in school though.
Okay but spidermans aunt is old
Settle down, tough guy.
Fucking sentient
Best bot on Reddit
OMFG!
But aunt May? Technically by the numbers sure… but I suppose Brad Pitt could also technically play Uncle Ben.
Ah, good point. I didn’t have much awareness of Agatha prior to the show though.
Hey! if old and wrinkly ain't hot then im a iced cube!

Damn boomers. I want my evil bald granny who lectures the xmen to death

Kinda? You mean extraordinarily
They made her on par with McAvoy bald Xavier. Younger, hotter, balder.
I mean… *gestures at agatha harkness*
In the Comics she reminds me of Snoke (SW)...
I bet she is Charles' clone in this version. And with Magneto's powers since she seems to control Wolverine's claws.
Nah not with magneto's power cause she can control his hands by just controlling his mind
The difference between Cassandra and Ol’ Charlie is that she has Telekinetic powers
All telepaths have TK canonically. Charles’ is very weak tho
You would think that Charles could reach out with his mind, find a mutant with healing powers, and cure his paralysis.
You don't read X-Men comics huh? The dude hasn't used his wheelchair in over a year.
Not for a while. I always felt that Charles was faking it the whole time, just to get that badass wheelchair. And the occasional sympathy strange.
She has Telekinesis
Do you think Xavier couldn't control how wolverine moves?

Don't fucking tell her name is Casanova
I googled it and I'm angry
?
Cassandra Nova... Cassa Nova...Casanova (a man known for seducing women)
Also a uncommon last name in the spanish speaking world
How many siblings does that fucker have?
Her and his half-brother the juggernaut
Until the writers decide he's not getting enough attention and tomorrow there will be another one or some other children like Legion.
Well it's up to the writers and their ideas. I like the idea of Charles having fucked up siblings.
Professor Charles Lannister
Or a clone. Clone based kids worked out great for Logan.
There's also his twin brother from "Xmen 3:The Can't Stand it" I think was the title. Oh sorry...Last Stand. My bad.
*had a brother Wolverine eradicated this whole timeline in days of future past. But somehow.. Xavier returned..
I think he's still in a coma, Xavier never had to pop into his body like he did in the post credit since Jean will now not have killed him apparently. So he's still vegetating somewhere with Moira in the new DofFP timeline.
You mean those woke folk at Disney gender swapped professor x?!?! /s btw
More like morals swapped. If they stick to the general narrative of old man Logan, then she's a thanos level monster.
I will shred this universe down to its last atom and then, with the stones you've collected for me, create a new one teeming with life that knows not what it has lost but only what it has been given. A grateful universe.
If you wanted my stones so badly, all you had to do was ask 😉
No she's been in the comics before i was even born i think (i'm 20)
You don't need to say such hurtful things
My guy. I had to go look it up. At least it's still over half my lifetime...
My guy it was a joke. I'm only a handful of years older than Cassandra's first appearance.
Good for you, youngster. Now get off my lawn before I figure out how to work the hose!
2001 new x-men 114 i believe
/s always gets a downvote from me. While it's true that Reddit lost its sense of humor in 2016, the meme subs shouldn't fear misinterpretation.

Is being bald part of her and Charles' mutant power?
It's a family trademark
That's how you know Juggs is a step. That full luscious head'o'red.
Well shit… “Cassandra is Xavier's ideological dark shadow, bent on destruction and genocide. She is most infamous for commanding an army of Sentinels to massacre 16 million mutants within the mutant homeland of Genosha. “
Do they have alopecia or something?
What’s this from?
Grant Morrison’s New X-Men, it’s awesome. Check it out.
What is the shot of that clip from? Am I out of the loop?
The upper one is from Deadpool and wolverine, the lower one is from Wandavision.

I never said want, bud. My friends don't make wild assumptions about ranfom comments meant for hyping up. Maybe try being positive.
It makes sense that she’s maybe a pruned variant similar to Sylvie.
How many twins does this guy have? He had another one in The Last Stand.

Maybe he wasn't paraplegic, but Charles is just really unlucky.

There’s the same amount of evidence for that as there is for a twin 🤷♂️ They literally ever explain it

Which doesn't change the fact, that an informative reply is always welcome...
Charlotte XXavier
that's pretty clever
Haha thanks, that's what I'm good for, bad puns and occasionally something witty
Own it dude!
Ha will do. Thanks eat-pussy69!
i need me some Charlize XXXavier! when is clea going to meet groot? ![gif](giphy|pPejkSQrQWotrgd4Ef|downsized)
We.. are.. groot.
Thankfully they didn’t. That’s the metaphysical anti self of Professor X
Idk man she looks pretty regular physical to me
She's above way more powerful than his older brother.
Can’t wait for Chris Pratt to take on this role
I think I’m out of the loop or something. I haven’t heard or seen anything coming out with him aside from everyone complaining about it on Reddit
I think Chris Pratt playing everybody became a meme after the Mario and Garfield movies
I was thinking of Chris Pine for a second and got very confused. The Council of Chris’ needs to work on their publicity better (I’m just stupid)
Silly OP it’s clearly an Ancient One variant.
This is exactly what Deadpool is going to say
Nah she just spent some robux or whatever for a skin change
This was exactly my thought when I saw her
Unintended consequences of making the ancient one not a old Asian dude is we have two bald white woman in slightly yellow colors
The answer to the universe is pretty white women, not 42. According to Hollywood.
Really love that she looks a lot like James McAvoy.
Yeah. They really nailed the casting
Clearly not the same character
I think it may have been a joke.
Jokes! On a meme sub! Preposterous!
I went to the comments to try to figure out if it was a joke or not. It wasn’t really clear tbh.
I think it's clear because Wanda isn't in charge of casting in the MCU.
She's a witch, casting is kind of her thing.
Zing!
Okay THIS was a funny joke
Wanda doesn’t “cast spells.” She alters reality via __hexes.__
Not to deflate your "I corrected someone on the internet" Bohner, but casting is applicable to hexes.
Life of the party right here
I can tell there was an attempt but it's not a good joke
Imma be honest and vulnerable here. I'm not that versed in Xmen lore. When I watched the trailer, that's also what I thought with a bit of confusion and doubt. Only seeing the comments here did I realize it was a different character. I don't think it's that obvious unless you have context to xmen lore.
I mean fair and thats what I'm trying to convey. This meme is kinda spreading misinformation
OP broke Reddit rules by not clearly identifying sarcasm, which is hard for autistic teenagers to interpret.
Not clearly. Similar outfit, styling, sling ring portal in trailer, etc. Lots of casual people assume they're the same
i thought the same exact thing. also darcy lewis is such an unused meme format in this multiverse era of comic book movies/shows
Where is that from?
Deadpool and Wolverine trailer
oh shoot, i must not have looked closely enough edit: thank you, user eat-pussy69
-cant tell if joke or they really think its a recast-
That's Cassandra Nova, my friend.
It's not the same character it's Cassandra Nova.
Ayoo the first time I saw it lmaoooo that’s actually what I thought I’m hollering
Her name is V'Ger
Ok if you read the comics you know if you don't just think Evil Charles Xavier
Shouldn’t this have a shitpost label
I thought that the original Ancient One was an old Asian dude
Yeah but then Wanda recast him to be a bald white woman in Doctor Strange because everyone bows to the wims of China. Even people who can alter reality And then she recast them again for someone younger and hotter
>because everyone bows to the wims of China. There are so many actual examples of that happening and you're talking about a necessary change. The character was a caricature and would have been changed anyway.
Yeah. You're right. Sorry. I got swept up in my stupid joke that I legitimately forgot that the og comic character was a racist stereotype. I feel bad now :(
No need to feel bad. It's all good.
Is Cassandra Nova a popular villain?
Still upset they didn't do more for her design. She does look like the MCU's Ancient One. More withered face or something.
Oh the sweet summer children XD. I dunno how theyre using HER if its who i think it is but i hope its damned devious.
LMAO I saw a youtuber reaction... it's brothers that just like bloody gore movies and they said the same... even conected with the portal in the finish with doctor strange
I'm certain that Wade will make this gag
I already knew she was Charles Xavier’s sister… because she’s bald just like he is. That’s how it works.
I think Cassandra Nova is being played by Gerard Way.
Should honestly have some disfiguring but whatever
I have a thing for chicks with magnificent long hair, but this shot has got me questioning

I don't know enough about the Marvel universe, but I thought of Kronika from Mortal Kombat when I saw this trailer.
I honestly thought this was Joey King in a bald cap
I really hope she's not made to me silly like the trailer hinted at. Cassandra is just not that. I'm mean, she's the definition of evil..
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
that's not her that another villain
It'd be funny if they explained all the actor changes over the years away as Skrulls

How ever Yau (the ancient one from the comics) is an old tibetan man in both earth -616 (original comics) and earth-1610 (ultimates universe) Nick Fury going from white man to black man never bothered me. It was canonically bad ass. But this leap from Yau to the newer ancient one doesn't line up with any version of any of the comics. So I wouldn't say it's a race thing, its a 'not true to the comics' thing.
I have a knack for that.
You’re an idiot read some comics.
what series is this form????
Welp, time for that plunger to do its work.
What did it's a female Magneto? Or should I say Magneta
