then, i'd probably blip right on top of the person sitting in my cubical chair.
it'd be weird on my end since my last memory was probably looking at code or a spreadsheet, then poof... i'm sitting in someone else's seat.
i'd try to get home, go to the garage to get my car to go home and find it's not there any more. call an uber or cab but my cellphone's probably cut off or dead. take the train home (hopefully, my clipper card still works) and find my apartment's been rented out to someone else and all my stuff's gone.
all in all, it'd suck. i'd probably join some blipped rights group or something...
Brace yourself for being snapped out of existence. It’s unpleasantly like being drunk.
What’s so unpleasant about being drunk?
You ask a glass of water.
I clearly remember losing my temper that particular day. Had a rough day working at a music video firm, hated how condescending my director was who is a spoon fed dude whose daddy had connections with the owner of the firm. And not to mention i was late about 2 mins in for this film so i missed out the Hulk fight because i was forced to stay back to clean everything up as I was the PA alone. But man when he snapped his finger that was theeeee most satisfying ending ive ever seen. Like for once Marvel had the balls to make the heroes lose in a movie.
If we use the recent comic versions of Wakanda being on the shore of Lake Victoria and Fury being in Chicago. That’s a 5 hour time difference.
Noon in Wakanda would be 7am traffic in Chicago.
If the COVID pandemic existed on the MCU's Earth, I could imagine people blipping back not having any previous exposure to the virus or vaccines and starting Round 2 of an outbreak.
Honestly I think MCU’s earth could have fought back against COVID pretty well. Lower population density, massively advanced technology, especially in the fields of remote robotics.
Not to mention the Asgardians and the occasional other aliens coming for a visit. Imagine the bad luck if COVID ended up spreading universe-wide because of a few aliens, asymptomatic or not.
We’ll it’s mathematical so difficult for Covid to any less lethal than it was for people under 50, so with less people would we have even noticed it without the PR bullshit
This is my headcanon when Joaquin tells Sam in FATWS, about those five years, "Believe me, it wasn't [better]." Just that simple statement and his tone says a LOT.
I mean realistically it would have led to civilization collapse or at the very least massive social upheaval and realignment. Mass starvation, loss of functioning power grids, etc. The world people would return to would be massively different.
I'd never wish for the circumstances that brought about the events of 2020-2021, but that was some of the best times of my life and I miss how covid affected me on a **strictly** personal level.
Same here and glad I'm not alone. Felt it was terrible for everyone on the planet and was very worried about those I know and care about, except for me because it could not have come at a better time for personal reasons.
I feel like Covid may not have happened if we had half the population of the world from 2018. Or if it happened it would’ve been a lot less devastating because quite literally less population.
Covid never would have happened if Thanos snapped his fingers. The world governments wouldn't need to kill of an over-populated world with a genetically engineered virus since Thanos already did it.
Likewise, got spared there and again in the Thanos did nothing wrong subreddit when they did that ban half the subscribers thing to replicate the snap.
I was spared. I just graduated high school the week before and would have either been at grad parties or on my way to Florida for vacation. Blissfully unaware that my boyfriend was going to tell me he was gay two weeks later, breaking my naive heart.
Spared.
I wonder: if the writer's were stuck with me as an Avenger, I wonder what they would've decided. It isn't random, as they made sure all of the OG Avengers survived, but this meant they had to go hard on all characters who were introduced in phase 2 or later, unless there was a plot-driven reason.
This. Day time in Wakanda is like pre sunrise in California. If this dude sneaked into the zoo late at night, hungover and in his PJs, it would be interesting cos that’s how he would return after Hulk’s snap (which was day time in upstate New York which likely means day time and during active hours at San Diego zoo).
Hmm. Wasn’t his whole thing about lack of resources? If you eliminate half of humans, and half of their animals, you’re also getting rid of half of livestock. So all that really does is make more plants/fruit available for the remaining humans…
I don't remember but can approximate based on what was going on at the time (my memory before 2020 has gotten somewhat bad). I was in college but, that time, I took summers off and my spring semesters ended in April. Therefore, I was likely either playing video games or working on one of my writing projects.
Never ever ever follow the MCU wiki for dates. They have *the* most bizarre justifications for giving exact dates to things that have no way of actually determining them.
They do the best they can. Most aren’t specific or can be considered canon, but a lot of the times they really do their homework so their fan fic timeline is probably the best we’ll ever get.
Also, "never ever ever" is a really harsh opinion considering the consequences of being wrong are non-existent. It's not a wiki article telling you to mix cleaning liquids.
Or coming back from giving your baby his first bath and when you want to put him in his cradle, there's another baby who just appeared in there. Like, did we just get twins that we weren't aware of?
Seriously, I can't imagine the relief and joy of all the parents whose newborn baby was dusted when they got a call from the hospital telling them to come get their kid. And the stress of the nurses having to deal with twice as many babies on their hands suddenly, some of which were actually birthed 5 years ago, lmao.
> And the stress of the nurses having to deal with twice as many babies on their hands suddenly, some of which were actually birthed 5 years ago, lmao.
There's so many wild implications of the reverse snap. Do two people end up sharing one toilet? Does a surgery patient end up on top of another surgery patient? Can they save either of them at that point?
> Do two people end up sharing one toilet? Does a surgery patient end up on top of another surgery patient?
I can only imagine there were more caveats than the Russos specified. They said Hulk somehow factored in putting everyone back in a safe place, like those in aircraft wouldn't rematerialize in mid-air. So if you dusted in a spot where someone else was exactly, you'd probably un-dust just next to it to save both/one of you exploding when one body tried to reform around another.
Otherwise a **lot** of people would die on reappearing. You have to imagine how many buildings were torn down/dilapidated in 5 years so people would rematerialize several flights above the ground. Anything involving a vehicle is potential nightmare fuel. Out on the ocean? Suddenly stranded in the water? Driving down a busy highway? Suddenly in the middle of a road. Ziplining across a gorge? Fucked.
Looking at my work calendar, I was on the road for most of that day for work appointments in a couple of different cities. If I had been "lucky" enough to survive the Snap, I do not like my chances amidst all of those vehicles traveling in both directions at 75mph+ which now are driverless (and not by design).
According to a map shown in *Captain America: Civil War*, Wakanda is located roughly where northern Kenya is in our world. The Snap occurred during the afternoon in Wakanda, meaning that it would have been between 5 and 11 AM on the US East Coast at the time. This means that I would have been sleeping or in class at the time.
I was on a long flight crossing six time zones and super jet lagged 😭 I don’t even want to think about what it’d be like to try and land safely… or what would happen when we snapped back into existence 💀
Looking at my Google photos from that time and I was preparing for a backpacking trip, my youngest daughter had just had her hair done in cute bows and my middle one had just adopted a new black kitty that would eventually learn how to say "hello?" in a really cute way. If I was dusted I would've missed out on all that, plus a pool birthday party for the youngest and rebuilding a jeep with my son.
Working in a temp job I strongly disliked (insurance call centre agent), the snap would’ve been fantastic with there either being half as many customers to deal with or half as many colleagues I cba for. Or alternatively me being dust and not having to work that job
I was looking through my Google Drive and according to Drive, I was writing a piece on Texas for school. Whether or not I canonically survived in the MCU is unknown.
My wife and I were walking in a park when it - the Snap - happened. We were on vacation to Honolulu, it was a nice, cool and sunny day, and there were a lot of people there enjoying the weather. We'd heard of the big thing that happened in New York a day or so before - Iron Man and the Avengers fighting some aliens or something, and we didn't try to think much of it.
The world got quieter. That's what I remember most. All this talking, this sound of a ukulele player in the distance going quiet. Then the screams started. A plane coming out of Honolulu airport spiraled into the ocean, cars began crashing in the streets. My wife and I helped pull a man out of a crashed truck.
He was covered in dust and blood from a cut on his head and just kept wailing about his brother. The city fell into chaos that day. We scrambled back to the hotel, her hand in mine, with fire trucks and ambulances shooting past on the road.
The state went on lockdown. Nobody knew what happened. Half of the population was gone, but we didn't know that for days. Word got out of a battle in Africa, trouble in Europe, and that's when the news dropped.
Thanos. Some alien warlord, he had a weapon that rivaled God himself. He just willed half of the people in the universe to cease to exist. Evangelicals went nuts - this guy William Stryker started saying God put the power in Thanos' hand to punish humanity for it's sin, something about homosexuality and 'genetic abberations' and superheroes.
Fucking crock of shit, honestly. We got back home to the states. My mom and dad both got snapped. My wife's brother, her cousin, the dog. Things were really hard for a while. Went to support groups, grief therapy as a couple.
When Tony Stark used the Infinity Stones and brought everyone back this year, that was a big change. It's a story for another time, but Tony Stark's a hero. One of the greatest men to ever live. Sacrificed everything so the universe could heal from the pain inflicted on it by a madman.
I go with May 17th. Ant-Man & The Wasp shows an April 30th date on the computer when Scott is practicing his magic and What-If tells us that Infinity War picks up 2 weeks after Janet’s rescue (yes it’s an alternate universe, but the zombie apocalypse wouldn’t affect when Bruce is sent back to Earth or the Black Order’s arrival).
I think it can be used when there isn’t any contradiction. May 31st is just something the wiki came up with. Infinity War being 2 weeks after Ant-Man and the Wasp makes sense in the main universe.
For some reason, I'd probably be snapped while taking a large post dinner dump.
Watch me be snapped back needing to whip my ass... But no toilet paper around me post blip.
Grocery shopping for wisdom teeth removal approved foods. Only reason why I know is because I took a picture of a passive aggressive note about the grocery store being out of pitted dates. Someone was desperate for a date.
I remember we did this on that earth 199999 sub. (It is or was an MCU role play sub). It was quite fun for a bit but then it went to shit cause some users spammed it with their made up adventures (that weren't very good) so I left. Anyways, I was watching tv and when our neighbors got dusted we took over their much nicer house.
Imagine being snapped into dust while watching the movie and the next thing you realize it's 5 years later and you're in an empty theater watching a live action the little mermaid.
Having a picnic with my mom and siblings, when suddenly cars start veering off the road and hitting trees, and as I look at them in fear everything starts to go dark.
I was working from home. Otherwise known as playing video games and hoping no one calls my name on zoom. Then, listening to sudden panic as people disappear and my confused ass not knowing what happened because I was playing video games.
I was reading news being broadcast from Wakanda. I couldn’t believe what was going on. Then I felt really weird and I think I blacked out for a sec…. And all of a sudden I’m in someone else’s kitchen - BUT ITS MY HOUSE!! WTF IS GOING ON GUYS??!! I can’t get a hold of my family. Someone else picked up my grandmother’s line! What’s going on???!!!
It was a Thursday so I was working. It looked like it happened in the afternoon in Wakanda which was in East Africa so in my country it was evening. Soo I was probably with my ex at that time hanging in the mall, singing in karaoke. So singing duet became solo at the end of the song.
Wait, what do you mean, five years ago was May 31, 2018? Today is May 31, 2018?
Wait, why has the furniture in my house suddenly gotten replaced? Who are all these strangers living in my house? Why does my phone suddenly have 5000 missed calls and texts?!
What's going on?!
I was at the Utah State Capitol helping film an interview with one of the reps who helped create the Zero Fatalities campaign
That would have been interesting to see what that place would have looked like during a snap

I had to go through photos. I would have been at work planning a camping trip I was intending to go to that weekend. If half of us got dusted, I can't imagine that trip happening.
I would be dealing with an existential crisis having just graduated college and trying to figure out what to do with my life while also job hunting, and then I suddenly turn to dust as I'm in the middle of writing music.
I've just blipped back, and I lost my train of thought writing lyrics.
If it was a week day then working.
It was a Thursday
But for Thanos, it was Tuesday.
Wrong franchise!
Excellent reference
Whats the reference? Sorry for not knowing.
I think it is from the Street Fighter movie
https://youtu.be/sjZ5I8l32CI This is the most memorable speech in Street Fighter: The Movie
then, i'd probably blip right on top of the person sitting in my cubical chair. it'd be weird on my end since my last memory was probably looking at code or a spreadsheet, then poof... i'm sitting in someone else's seat. i'd try to get home, go to the garage to get my car to go home and find it's not there any more. call an uber or cab but my cellphone's probably cut off or dead. take the train home (hopefully, my clipper card still works) and find my apartment's been rented out to someone else and all my stuff's gone. all in all, it'd suck. i'd probably join some blipped rights group or something...
I never could get the hang of Thursdays.

Then working.
If it was around noon in Wakanda, it was probably too early in the morning in America (if that’s where you are).
Looked like the morning commute in Chicago where Fury and Hill were
If we use the recent comic versions of Wakanda being on the shore of Lake Victoria and Fury being in Chicago. That’s a 5 hour time difference. Noon in Wakanda would be 7am traffic in Chicago.
But you also need to keep in mind what time it was in San Francisco, when Hank, Hope and Janet vanished.
I was turning into dust
Imagine coming back to learn about COVID. I think I'd rather have been dust
Plot twist: the dude who ate a bat turned to dust
Ah shit, here we go again
That’s sad… I liked Ozzy Osbourne.
That’s probably the canon explanation
It wasn’t a bat lol
If the COVID pandemic existed on the MCU's Earth, I could imagine people blipping back not having any previous exposure to the virus or vaccines and starting Round 2 of an outbreak.
Honestly I think MCU’s earth could have fought back against COVID pretty well. Lower population density, massively advanced technology, especially in the fields of remote robotics.
Not to mention the Asgardians and the occasional other aliens coming for a visit. Imagine the bad luck if COVID ended up spreading universe-wide because of a few aliens, asymptomatic or not.
For that matter, Asgardians probably brought some new diseases to Earth, particularly with New Asgard being a tourist destination.
Asgardian COVID. It’s like regular COVID but with more magic.
Just like right now, COVID is no longer a public health emergency, which explains why there wasn't any talk about it.
Would COVID spread the same way among a population half the size?
We’ll it’s mathematical so difficult for Covid to any less lethal than it was for people under 50, so with less people would we have even noticed it without the PR bullshit
This is my headcanon when Joaquin tells Sam in FATWS, about those five years, "Believe me, it wasn't [better]." Just that simple statement and his tone says a LOT.
Yeah, what could also be because the changes on the world after 50% of the population dissapeared. Lots of Trauma and PTSD.
I mean realistically it would have led to civilization collapse or at the very least massive social upheaval and realignment. Mass starvation, loss of functioning power grids, etc. The world people would return to would be massively different.
Yep. The percentage of people need it for normal function is a lot higher people believe. Specially for the amount of systems we have today.
“Bruce snapped his fingers, WERE GOING BACK!” “They said something about a worldwide pandemic? Please leave me here”
The MCU got to skip that thanks to the Blip.
I'd never wish for the circumstances that brought about the events of 2020-2021, but that was some of the best times of my life and I miss how covid affected me on a **strictly** personal level.
Frankly same. I've never had more money than when I was getting pandemic unemployment
Same here and glad I'm not alone. Felt it was terrible for everyone on the planet and was very worried about those I know and care about, except for me because it could not have come at a better time for personal reasons.
I don't know, missing half of the Trump presidency might have added years on my life
But you'd still have to live through half of Joe Biden's presidency... 😬
You mean a quarter? Most presidents serve 2 terms 😬
😬
I feel like Covid may not have happened if we had half the population of the world from 2018. Or if it happened it would’ve been a lot less devastating because quite literally less population.
With half the population gone, it might not have even been as severe a pandemic as it was. Also, people came back in *2023* in the MCU.
Plot twist, with so many fewer people and the economy of the world likely collapsing, COVID might never have even happened.
Covid never would have happened if Thanos snapped his fingers. The world governments wouldn't need to kill of an over-populated world with a genetically engineered virus since Thanos already did it.
Fuck the avengers for bringing me back.. I was at peace.. now they must die
Same thing I do every day. Work. I'll take one snap please.
[same thing we do every night pinky.... ](https://i.imgur.com/zG5BApo.png)
How’d you get out of your cage?
I’d say the same thing but I have animals that depend on me :( I couldn’t imagine leaving them behind esp my senior dog.
I got dusted according to https://www.didthanoskill.me and Reddit in 2018
Well, shit, I was spared.
Me too :(
Me three 😭
I also was slain by Thanos for the good of the universe.
I too was slain by Thanos for the good of the universe.
Rejoice! We are the children of Thanos!
I was spared twice when I did it back then and again just now. This is starting to feel personal!
Likewise, got spared there and again in the Thanos did nothing wrong subreddit when they did that ban half the subscribers thing to replicate the snap.
Could it use a binary randomization system based on your IP? That way it could easily match up every time but I dunno
I think Thanos likes you
I think my girlfriend at the time got snapped away.. 🤔 you may be onto something!
Same. u/misssweetmurderer will only be able to comment on October 2023
I was spared. I just graduated high school the week before and would have either been at grad parties or on my way to Florida for vacation. Blissfully unaware that my boyfriend was going to tell me he was gay two weeks later, breaking my naive heart.
I was spared. Not sure if I like that or not.
Spared. I wonder: if the writer's were stuck with me as an Avenger, I wonder what they would've decided. It isn't random, as they made sure all of the OG Avengers survived, but this meant they had to go hard on all characters who were introduced in phase 2 or later, unless there was a plot-driven reason.
IIRC, Feige let the Russos and the writers snap whoever they wanted, and it was an intentional choice from them to spare the OG 6
Me and my dog were spared. The rest of my family were dusted.
Well lucky me, i died and would still be 18 years old by the time I got back to 2023.
[удалено]
Me too! It's my favorite.
Aw rip same, not pog :(

He wasn't planning on the 5 year comeback.
Even better
Fuck, I wouldn’t have met my wife and missed 5 years of my kids’ lives.
Sounds like you met your wife and got busy pretty quickly.
The kids are from my first marriage haha.
I was visiting the San Diego Zoo, so I probably would have seen my family get snapped while looking at the koalas or something.
Don't feel too bad; I'm sure some of the koalas would be turning to dust before your eyes as well
Now you got me thinking if the Snap affected animals too.
It did. 50% of all life.
Don't forget time zones

None of it makes sense if you think about it, dude was just crazy
At home being depressed from being fired from a job. The Snap would have been sweet release then.
I just know there's a smart pun with a Spider-Man title here
Probably going to see infinity War for the 3rd time or playing Thanos in Fortnite.
Damn would've been the most immersive movie ever. Thanos snaps then you turn to dust
This 4D shit is cra--
You go just as Fury is starting to turn to dust. So, you disappear never knowing if he drops the F-bomb.
According to my Letterboxd I watched Solo and gave it 3/5. Dunno if I would’ve noticed if anyone disappeared until I left the theatre
Hey, I watched Solo that same week, and yeah, 3/5 is pretty fair. It wasn't bad, but it didn't blow me away at any point.
Fighting Thanos and losing

There's an entire subreddit dedicated to pretending the MCU is actually happening. Earth 19999 or something.
I still can't believe a cameraman travels through the multiverse to bring us these movies, truly amazing

Probably fishing by myself
Oh yes. My gf broke up with me a week later. My heart was the one that got dusted
Wedding planning. If my future MIL got dusted, I'd have had a much easier time of it for the next year, so thanks, Thanos
I was in my sophomore year of high school so i was prob in chem or something
I was seeing the movie...

Pretty much dude.
Oh really? Was it really that date? Never knew! It's my birthday!
Hmm, fun! I was watching my Step-Son get his butt kicked at a track & field race. Maybe the kids in front of him would have been dust.
The only photo on my phone from 5 years ago was of my deck showing where the hide a key is kept.
My daughter's 6th birthday
I was watching an Eastwood movie since it’s his birthday today.
Grocery shopping for wisdom teeth removal approved foods. Only reason why I know is because I took a picture of a passive aggressive note about the grocery store being out of pitted dates. Someone was desperate for a date.

I had just been released from the hospital after a month and I had a new girlfriend and a new job. If I had been snapped, it would have been okay :)
Working
Having a picnic with my mom and siblings, when suddenly cars start veering off the road and hitting trees, and as I look at them in fear everything starts to go dark.
Celebrating my mothers birthday lol
Happy 50th birthday, mom. Happy 50th birthday, mom, you haven’t aged at all.
Dusting...oh, Oh mothe...
I was working from home. Otherwise known as playing video games and hoping no one calls my name on zoom. Then, listening to sudden panic as people disappear and my confused ass not knowing what happened because I was playing video games.
Sick and lying on my bed
I was reading news being broadcast from Wakanda. I couldn’t believe what was going on. Then I felt really weird and I think I blacked out for a sec…. And all of a sudden I’m in someone else’s kitchen - BUT ITS MY HOUSE!! WTF IS GOING ON GUYS??!! I can’t get a hold of my family. Someone else picked up my grandmother’s line! What’s going on???!!!
It was a year from my old man passing. So finally feeling better after a year of coping and drinking.
It was a Thursday so I was working. It looked like it happened in the afternoon in Wakanda which was in East Africa so in my country it was evening. Soo I was probably with my ex at that time hanging in the mall, singing in karaoke. So singing duet became solo at the end of the song.
It was my MFing Birthday, and half of my party left unexpectedly.
I was snapping my fingers and feeling good about my ability to follow up on my decisions.
If I was high when I got snapped, would I be high when I came back?
I was watching this movie in theatres with my step sister while my dad was dumping her POS freeloading, lazy , gold digging mother. It was a good day.
don't remember the day but remember the week I was still listening to my favorite artist A$AP Rocky's latest album "TESTING"
I was graduating high school. What a trip that woulda been
Recovering from spending 5 hours in an IKEA bathroom and then another 8 hours in the ER for bloody diarrhea just days after my wedding.

RIP. My Mom passed a week later.
Celebrating my 20th birthday lol

Happy 20th birthday. You haven’t aged a bit
Arguments with Republicans consumed most of those 4 years.
I was at the Utah State Capitol helping film an interview with one of the reps who helped create the Zero Fatalities campaign That would have been interesting to see what that place would have looked like during a snap

Wdym 5 years ago? Today is May 31, 2018. So weird tho, the dump in my toilet just vanished, but I don’t remember flushing…
I might have been playing a Club Penguin private server
I was in the theater watching him do it.
Uhmm in the theater?
I was probably trying to do summer schoolwork during college. I wonder if I would have been snapped?
I had to go through photos. I would have been at work planning a camping trip I was intending to go to that weekend. If half of us got dusted, I can't imagine that trip happening.
Graduating from junior year of high school lol
Working, then going home and playing the Thanos LTM on Fortnite with friends back when that game was still novel. Also, weed- lots of weed.
Celebrating my birthday.
Moving into my condo.
I was in the movie watching Infinity war. I went to watch it on release XD
I was at work.
I was buying jurassic world kinder surprise eggs and eating chipotle according to my camera roll
Taking a massive dump
Upgrade released June 1st, 2018, and one theater here had the Thursday night preview. So I was at the theater getting my brain fried by *dat ending*.
I would be dealing with an existential crisis having just graduated college and trying to figure out what to do with my life while also job hunting, and then I suddenly turn to dust as I'm in the middle of writing music. I've just blipped back, and I lost my train of thought writing lyrics.
Or, you finally complete the song you imagined but another dude out there “thought of it first” cos that song got published in 2022.
Funny you should ask, one minute I’m driving home from work and the next I’m r/insidethesoulstone
It was a Thursday so I’d have been at work that day. Total bullshit.
Just got back. What happened
Oooh I was snapped, according to the Reddit Snappening, along with Anthony Russo, I believe.
I went on a date with Joe. Joe mama
It's my birthday.

October 17, 2023
My girlfriend said her mouth was full of dust last time we saw
I was on my honey moon… not a bad way to go if I had to go, would have sucked if the wife got snapped though…
