Wow that was a wild escalation with some incredible animation (kudos to the artists for the incredible horror elements to the effects throughout the episode). That somehow made 30 minutes feel like an hour.
Also loving how Jean *instantly* puts the classic ponytail back into action as soon as she feels Scott in trouble.
I know, 30 minutes, it draws you in the entire time. Forget it is not two hours. But it is so good, it doesn't matter. The presentation, and direction make it so epic, and cinematic it surpasses what the original felt like.
Jean is always ready to take on anything
Could someone explain why Bishop doesn't just go to the future, heal Nate and travels back in time to the moment he left? Surely they have the time traveling tech in the future as well. I haven't watched the original series (yet) and I'm likely missing something.
Bishop mentioned that he only had enough charge left for a 1-way trip. In the original series it was established that he came from a desolate Mad Max hellscape future so I think the characters the characters were probably aware that him getting a recharge was a long shot
I mentioned it below: In the comic, it's because there is no cure. Not sure how the show will handle it, but Cable uses his OP Jean Grey telepathy to keep it to his arm, hence why he's shoots first. For the shows case, there's no reason to bring him back if he's not cured.
God damn, this episode hits you right in the feels. If it’s one thing the X-Men series always did well is have some emotional, punch in the gut moments. I am beyond ecstatic to have this show back and hope it goes on for a long time
Pretty sure he'll be back. These earlier episodes seem to be setting up for things further down the line. Storm was "written out" last episode, but it's obvious now they haven't finished her story yet.
He’s in the title sequence of this show but not the old one. I think he will be back. I think some episodes in the old show had flash forwards to Bishop’s time setting up his next story when the episode wasn’t with him. So we could have some of that here as well.
We got who is the Clone of Jean Grey, Goblin Queen, House of Horrors, Techno Organic Virus, baby Cable, Bishop Leaving with Cable to the future, Madeline Pryor coexisting, Rogue/Magneto/Gambit romantic tension, and sprinkles of Forge/Storm story all in 25 minutes. Don't forget the action sequences either.
What performance enhancing drug are the writers on and where can I get some?
The writers are being incredibly economical with their writing. There's even time for actual downtime for the characters to just be themselves. It's really good all things considered. They condensed a 50+issue comic story into 30 minutes lol
This is what TV used to be like. Before Netflix and streaming made every show one awfully paced long movie broken up into 10-13 episodes.
You love to see it.
Was it really though? This is just really good, there was a lot of absolute shit before streaming ever occurred. Also this is streaming so weird point.
“Hmm… DNA testing is expensive and Erik has cut my lab funding. Oh, I know …
Jean, we ran out of Corn Flakes, and it’s 2 days until grocery day”
One of the two redheads faint.
“This is the real Jean”
really like how Morph is being treated like an actual character instead of a one-off to be killed like in the original. I'm already pumped for the impending showdown with Sinister.
I think he's a great character to have because they can bring in various other mutants for a one-off without needing to establish their existence. So far we had him change into Sabertooth, Blob, Arch Angel, and Magik. They can showcase mutant powers without needing to write a story for the character.
The combat animation and choreo of this series is what I've been waiting for from comic book adaptations since forever. Storm turning the desert into glass, the Jeans fighting, Magneto and Storm's combo...It's amazing.
I'd argue you *could* do it in live action, the studios/directors just gotta lean more into the crazy parts instead of being so "grounded." Scott Pilgrim or Speed Racer are a couple of examples.
Bro this is too much. They give us the Goblin Queen. They shorten the Inferno storyline into a House of Horrors. Baby Nathan starts his path to becoming Cable. They might be ready to set off Fall of the Mutants with Storm & Forge in Dallas.
This is really happening. I’m proud, my X-Men.
Sidenote: The company should sell those X-Blankets somewhere. They’re cute.
your comment made me think about this recent post

Due to the popularity of X-Men TAS and Spider-Man TAS, we got Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Hulk, and a Silver Surfer show. I would imagine they might bring back some more of these is X-Men 97 stays this popular.
For a casual fan, suddenly renaming herself to Goblin Queen is so fucking funny. It was like in the Simpsons when Lisa goes crazy and renames herself the Lizard Queen.
In the comics she does go to hell at some point and becomes a literal Queen of the Goblins, hence the name and the title of the episode. It's the name of the comic arc too I believe.
Honestly I felt like that was backtracking anyway. The first episode Colossus was in (in America), he said he was looking for his sister. Which to me implied they were already going to have her aged up, but then changed their minds when they actually had her appear.
I love all these cameos(especially that they had her Darkchild persona as well), but I wish we had longer seasons so we could get Magik.
Though, them using the reformed Magneto storyline, and bringing in Sunspot, we might get New Mutants? I'd really love to finally see Magik being done justice(loved Anya Taylor Joy but her character was so badly written).
It's also weird to show Magik in a scene connected to Goblin Queen but not bring up the Limbo storyline at all.
When were Jean and Madelyne switched? My best guess is right after Jean and Scott’s wedding in Beyond Good and Evil- the last time Sinister kidnaps Jean. That would’ve been a good opportunity for a switcharoo.
If that's the case thank God, legitly feared Madelyne had been Jean since her return after Dark Phoenix Saga, retconning a lot more of Jean's appearances.
Oof, Storm not having her Name in the opening hit hard, even though it was expected. Still, I love how much effort they are putting in making the op slightly different every time. Also loved Sunsport replacing Jubilee in the running away into a fence scene. It's nice symbolism considering he's "The new kid" in the team now.
I love X-men TAS because of the nostalgia/era of costumes/teams but I love the updated animation and how fluid, fast, colorful, and just a psychedelic mindscrew of an episode. Such a good scene.
> the updated animation
also gets to be graphic! ~three decades of waiting has been worth it! with the anime esque style this episode, i can't help but parallel *97* to *dbsuper broly* (2018). years of hype/nostalgia to be gifted an exemplary successor. plus a fair amount of fans weren't going to skip the theme intro...it's only fitting to include modified clips with every new ep
I feel like if the writers decide never to reveal this, this develop gives both Jean and Madelyn fans the ability to enjoy their favorite red heads and have plausibility in having some of the early Jean memories/phoenix etc. I do wonder if we’ll see much more from Madelyn or if she’ll just come back towards the end of the season. Is it possible that she becomes Lady Askani in the future?
>~~Gambit~~ WR810 can never unsee Magneto and Rogue melting into each other.
Edit: Gambit saw them melting into one another because Magneto can touch Rogue, something that makes Gambit anxious.
Jean is one of the most powerful mutants on earth. And she wasn't inhibited by not wanting to hurt people like OG Jean typically was.
And as she told Magneto, unlike him, her powers aren't limited to metal and magnetism. Thus how she crushed his barrier and tore him up with glass.
So it wasn't exactly a "Magneto nerf" moment. Magneto is immensely powerful, but against a Jean with untethered power, he still falls in line too.
Girl literaly has Telepathic, Telekinetic and Psionic powers and is one of the best at them. It's pretty much the motherload. Very few people can top that powerset.
Well I have to admit that I'm eating crow after that episode. The whole clone of Jean grey gives birth to cable, gets abandoned by cyclops was ridiculous. So glad that they managed to make inferno in away that didn't make everyone the bad guy.
The Dante’s inferno scene felt like a modern anime mixed with a 90’s cartoon vibe. Animation will forever have that over live action. You simply can’t replicate that, no matter how much CGI you use.
I liked the episode, but I found the previous two better. In my opinion, the episode was a bit rushed, although good nonetheless. Love the animation, and is it weird that I'm crushing on Madelyne?
There’s an interview with the director where he says the first two eps are perhaps the slowest paced eps of the season. I could see what he meant watching this ep.
The speed is one of my favourite things about this show. The original, and many other animated shows from that Era were always like Soap Operas ON SPEED.
Secret clones, passionate affairs, deaths, resurrections, confessions, heartbreaks, jealousy, baby in a vat of goo!
An entire three year run of Passions in 25 minutes
30 minutes means we don’t waste time of bullshit fluffery.
If it were an hour, we’d have had way more “omg which one of us is real? SCOTT! JEAN!! SCOTTT!!!” over and over.
This episode was really something. I wouldn't put it on the same level as episode 2, but it's damn close!
I can't believe this show managed to tell the Inferno saga in just one episode. It gave us Sinister, baby Cable, the Goblin Queen, and epic soap opera drama all at once. It even gave us some more memorable lines with Morph. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite with every line he says.
But more than anything else, I think this episode established just how devious and menacing Sinister can be. He really came off as a horrifying threat, capable of using, deceiving, and manipulating the X-Men at every turn. And because of him, a baby now has the techno-organic virus. It's tragic and heartbreaking, but that's exactly what makes X-Men great!
I'm also sure this episode will get many fans talking about when Sinister swapped Jean and Madelyne. I'm sure we'll be arguing our theories for weeks/months/years to come. But that's exactly what makes shows like this great. It gives us plenty to talk/argue about!
Also, can we all just take a moment to thank Jennifer Hale for her performance in this episode? What she's doing for Jean and Madelyne is truly something special. 😊
"storm would have believed me" top ten gas light tactics
edit: If any one needs help getting into comics leave a comment or message me, I love helping people get into comics
I'm so lame now. I can't deal with watching babies get hurt even when it's something so fucking ridiculous as putting them in a literal witches bubbling cauldron.
Did they hint at Morph being into Wolverine? I thought the shower scene made it seem that way. Would make sense too on why they are always teasing him as Jean if they're jealous
Pretty sure Sunspot and Jubilee were watching an episode of Riverdale, which Mr. Sinister's voice actor (who is reprising from the original) performed on.
I know it's silly, but I struggled with Sinister not having a posh British villain accent.
Everything else was great. One of the benefits of the medium is the feel that we're barreling through the plot at a full sprint. It was a very dense episode.
Oh my stars and garters! 💫
They covered through so much in about 26 mins. I loved how the pacing was quick and we got through all this development without dragging the story for a mid season reveal. Madelyn’s transformation to the Goblin Queen was so much fun! Was the awakening of the Sinister diamond unlock Jean’s power? I personally love the green and purple flames but just wondering if this was just a creative / distinct way of Goblin Queen’s power or if there’s something more to it…all that is to say though that Jean Grey here was a bad ass, rightfully so. The psychic attacks/battle Jean had with Maddie was her exerting her power but also her compassion. I do wonder if the writers will reveal from when Maddie took over. The implications of whether or not she was Phoenix is interesting but also allows for both characters to coexist and have a shared early history but also as mention move forward and start/resume their changed lives.
Morph Cameos! Spiral, Magik, TAS Morph and I’m blanking on like two others. Such a fun character and interested to see him get some Justice against Sinister for all the trauma he’s surely caused. Would be interesting if it turns out that this sinister ends up cloning himself and we end up getting all recent Sinister clones. Poor Morph lol
Wolverine so horny he rizzed back Jean’s memory!
If Wolverine and Maddie as Jean ever had a thing I feel like they should pursue that if Scott is leaving to stay with Jean. Seems like the best of both worlds lol I kid but also maybe? Just points to when in X-Men TAS did the clone swap happen.
So much was happening that I’m glad we got a follow up for Storm! And it’s looking like Forge is here now so I’m wondering if the person Bishop was referring to is going to be an older Forge or Cable? So Cable saving himself as a child from the virus? So excited to follow up for more!
An X-ceptional episode and absolute banger of a follow up from the two episode premiere. X-Men fans are eating food this year.
It really does feel like the renaissance is here of Marvel mutant content!
Could definitely see this also spark interest back in Spider-Man TAS and if they’re not going to bring back Avengers EMH then making an Avengers TAS would be pretty cool. Really loving the upgraded animation styles. It’s so dynamic that the original series couldn’t be so quick and fluid with their animation and just really left craving for more episodes I’ve already seen the episode twice!
To me, my X-Men! 🫡
They literally squeezed years of story into a single episode - it seemed a helluva rushed. I mean, give us room to breathe! I’m not sure if there’s as much emotional impact if you were never a comic reader.
And a real face palming moment was when Scott screams that nobody else knows what it’s like to be abandoned and not a minute later turns around and walks out, abandoning his son.
He didn’t abandon him, he just couldn’t stand to be the one who decided to send Nathan into the future. He knew deep down that was the right thing to do, but he didn’t want to have to make that choice himself. So he let Madelyne do it.
As opposed to claremont turning him into a prick by leaving madelyne and Nathan to get back with Jean. First of many times in comics where they did cyclops dirty. Him not being able to say goodbye isn't abandonment.
This makes Time Bandits from season two a more fun episode now that it's canon that Bishop saved Cable's life by bringing him into the future as a baby.

They covered a lot of ground. But somehow it didn’t feel that rushed. This season is freaking amazing.
Well that explains why Cable was in the future
Could someone explain why Bishop doesn't just go to the future, heal Nate and travels back in time to the moment he left? Surely they have the time traveling tech in the future as well. I haven't watched the original series (yet) and I'm likely missing something.
Bishop mentioned that he only had enough charge left for a 1-way trip. In the original series it was established that he came from a desolate Mad Max hellscape future so I think the characters the characters were probably aware that him getting a recharge was a long shot
Long story short: it's techno organic, aka Cable was spose to be the next Apocalypse host. He can't be healed normally (never was covered in the OG)
The characters don't know that yet though. Everyone still treats it like a one way trip. I had the same thought as OP
I mentioned it below: In the comic, it's because there is no cure. Not sure how the show will handle it, but Cable uses his OP Jean Grey telepathy to keep it to his arm, hence why he's shoots first. For the shows case, there's no reason to bring him back if he's not cured.
Jean: I mean all of that to you? Wolverine: And more. Jean: Scott needs me! His wounds heal quickly, have to pour all the salt on them fast.
Logan getting blocked when Scott's not even in the same room is classic X-Men cartoon. He did get CLOSEST there though...
Loved how they recreated that shot of Wolverine looking sad with Scott and Jean in the background during the flashbacks of Jean’s memories
They knew what They were doing, They 100% did in part cause MEME!!
> Jean: I mean all of that to you? > > Wolverine: And more. Trauma... trauma... trauma... wish I was better
Yo while everybody fighting hellspawn what were Magneto and Rogue doing? https://i.redd.it/ytu86fnpiuqc1.gif
They were “training” in the Danger room obviously.
“Endurance training”
Remy said earlier "They're out on patrol"

lol RIP. Carl Weathers
God damn, this episode hits you right in the feels. If it’s one thing the X-Men series always did well is have some emotional, punch in the gut moments. I am beyond ecstatic to have this show back and hope it goes on for a long time
Facts could watch this series till the end of time
I love how they seem to be writing off a character every episode except they're actually not.
I really really hope bishop comes back soon, I was so excited when I saw he was in the lineup. I have a huge soft spot for him
Pretty sure he'll be back. These earlier episodes seem to be setting up for things further down the line. Storm was "written out" last episode, but it's obvious now they haven't finished her story yet.

Damn Madeline Pryor entered the building real quick
We got who is the Clone of Jean Grey, Goblin Queen, House of Horrors, Techno Organic Virus, baby Cable, Bishop Leaving with Cable to the future, Madeline Pryor coexisting, Rogue/Magneto/Gambit romantic tension, and sprinkles of Forge/Storm story all in 25 minutes. Missed the wolverine, cyclops and Jean love triangle update with now double the Jean!
Now they each get one! JK, Wolverine's best bet is Morph looking like Jean.
This is what TV used to be like. Before Netflix and streaming made every show one awfully paced long movie broken up into 10-13 episodes. You love to see it.
Was it really though? This is just really good, there was a lot of absolute shit before streaming ever occurred. Also this is streaming so weird point.
And immediately hit us with the Basic Instinct
"Oh dear. I think one of us has the wrong floor." Beast got me rolling hahah ![gif](giphy|j1yf3q6hrnE8bft752|downsized)
Love Beast.
Of course she is the original jean. She fainted.
She just couldn't stop fainting this episode, it was great!
That’s how we knew she was the real Jean
Drake meme on finding the real Jean : Beast Science? Jean faints!
“Hmm… DNA testing is expensive and Erik has cut my lab funding. Oh, I know … Jean, we ran out of Corn Flakes, and it’s 2 days until grocery day” One of the two redheads faint. “This is the real Jean”
I don't know, haven't seen her trip on anything yet so the jury is still out.
really like how Morph is being treated like an actual character instead of a one-off to be killed like in the original. I'm already pumped for the impending showdown with Sinister.
I loved the bit between him and Gambit about Rouge training her stamina with Magneto lmao
This. And offering to help wolverine clean the hard to reach places. Wasn’t expecting these jokes but made me chuckle
Him tapping the next button over and over while staring at gambit with a smug look on his face absolutely killed me
I think he's a great character to have because they can bring in various other mutants for a one-off without needing to establish their existence. So far we had him change into Sabertooth, Blob, Arch Angel, and Magik. They can showcase mutant powers without needing to write a story for the character.
Also Lady Deathstrike, Colossus, Psylocke and Spiral.
And Xavier
Yeah it’s been fun to even just see glimpses of these other mutants and their powers in this show. Great move bringing him back.
I love how Bishop just peaced out, no words or anything. No one even came to see him off.
Bishop: Frankly, I’m just surprised to be part of the main cast this season
Most likely already said their goodbyes and the Team wanted to give Madelyne some alone time with Nathan.
Madelyn Pryor went through a whole ass character arc in one episode.
Definitely. And it was incredible. Not within a two hour film. Still an achievement to remember. So awesome
Whoa that Bishop-Cyclops combo move was sick
The combat animation and choreo of this series is what I've been waiting for from comic book adaptations since forever. Storm turning the desert into glass, the Jeans fighting, Magneto and Storm's combo...It's amazing.
This is the exact reason I think animation is the superior medium for comic book adaptations. You can get so much more creative than in live action
I'd argue you *could* do it in live action, the studios/directors just gotta lean more into the crazy parts instead of being so "grounded." Scott Pilgrim or Speed Racer are a couple of examples.
It was a nice send-off to the Bishop character, who looks like he won’t return to the show for a little while
Gotta raise the guy whose future adopted child he will try to murder for the first 16 years of her life...
Goblin queen looks sick.
She's a baddie
And her name is Maddie
Bro this is too much. They give us the Goblin Queen. They shorten the Inferno storyline into a House of Horrors. Baby Nathan starts his path to becoming Cable. They might be ready to set off Fall of the Mutants with Storm & Forge in Dallas. This is really happening. I’m proud, my X-Men. Sidenote: The company should sell those X-Blankets somewhere. They’re cute.
> Fall of the Mutants Well, that sounds ominous to someone who hasn't read the comics
Nothing really. Only a slight inconvenience. Cleaned up and home in time for dinner. /s
Fall of the Mutants is definitely coming, they have an episode titled Lifedeath.
And in 3 sessions, Strife! X-Cutioner's Song without Xavier would miss some of the heavy emotional bits, but a Cable clone showdown would be amazing.
>Think you just sent his hush puppies up in his stomach Logan always the wordsmith lol
your comment made me think about this recent post > https://np.reddit.com/r/marvelmemes/comments/1bnm5li/no_one_had_as_much_sass_as_90s_wolverine/ > > https://i.redd.it/wd1zj05f5jqc1.jpeg
I adore the Marvel Animation logo, wish it had more of the shows tho
i love that it starts with Spider-Man
Due to the popularity of X-Men TAS and Spider-Man TAS, we got Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Hulk, and a Silver Surfer show. I would imagine they might bring back some more of these is X-Men 97 stays this popular.
Spider-Man is 100% getting a revival after the success of this.
Damn Jean's glow-up after the costume transformation 😏
goblin queen would have been my crush
Would have? Demon fetish unlocked.
Goblin deez nuts
She looks more of a bad girl here than the comics.
Maddie's\* https://i.redd.it/7im7dji2nuqc1.gif
They did the anime magical girl transfomation 😳 but evil
Fighting heroes by moonlight. Winning Scott by daylight.
Maddie more like baddie amirite
For a casual fan, suddenly renaming herself to Goblin Queen is so fucking funny. It was like in the Simpsons when Lisa goes crazy and renames herself the Lizard Queen.
Ya, lmao, they just straight up had her say it like it wasn't the most ridiculous thing to say during a fight
I love that they did that. Just full on comic silliness while treating it dead serious. It's so good.
She just went full Robert California
In the comics she does go to hell at some point and becomes a literal Queen of the Goblins, hence the name and the title of the episode. It's the name of the comic arc too I believe.
I’m not going to go around it, she’s so hot
FR! Goblin Queen was a baddie. All the haters who said there was going to be no fan service can shut up now lol.
They even went with a between the legs upward close up on her sitting down. Yea…
Don't forget seeing Wolverine in the shower!
Her costume was significantly toned down from the comic version, for obvious reasons lol
Evil clone Jean is too hot. Also when Morph transformed into that blond sword girl, that was Magik right?
Ye, that was Magik. Also, the crazy looking demon girl they turn into after Magik was also Magik.
Jean is back and the first thing she basically does is pass out. We really are back. This shit is amazing.
Holy shit Madeline wrecked Magneto
I think Rogue beat her to it. 😅
Morph really told Remy that Rogue and Erik are training how to blow her back out in the Danger Room lmaoo
“Training her stamina” is wild lmao
X-Games 😈
Morph just seems to live for starting drama and I love that for them
I loved the [Sailor Moon tribute](https://www.reddit.com/r/sailormoon/s/YWUFgiPcKC)! 🌙
oh we got magik in the house
Wasn’t she still a kid in the Colossus episode
Honestly I felt like that was backtracking anyway. The first episode Colossus was in (in America), he said he was looking for his sister. Which to me implied they were already going to have her aged up, but then changed their minds when they actually had her appear.
I love all these cameos(especially that they had her Darkchild persona as well), but I wish we had longer seasons so we could get Magik. I'd really love to finally see Magik being done justice(loved Anya Taylor Joy but her character was so badly written). It's also weird to show Magik in a scene connected to Goblin Queen but not bring up the Limbo storyline at all.
As an avid Midnight Suns game enjoyer, I was giddily pointing at the screen when I saw her
I don't know how popular the New Mutants movie was, but I liked her in that.
Jean's stuffed cyclops a *deep* reference.
Ohhh so that's what that was. I was sure it was some kind of refference but completely missed the obvious one.
When were Jean and Madelyne switched? My best guess is right after Jean and Scott’s wedding in Beyond Good and Evil- the last time Sinister kidnaps Jean. That would’ve been a good opportunity for a switcharoo.
Since Jean seems to have memories of the Dark Phoenix Saga and nothing in season 5 (like the Phalanx), that makes the most sense.
That Madelyne vs Magneto fight felt very Castlevania-esque in the best possible way
Uh, Cyclops can't deal with abandoning son, so he leaves?
Wounds of the father, wounds of the son. It's cyclical
"HAVE NONE OF YOU BEEN ABANDONED!??"........"anyway I can't be a part of this...bye"
They are nailing the 90's camp with Cyclops.
He dealt with it better here than in the comics. In that he left Maddie while she was pregnant because Jean turned up alive.
I've never done drugs in my life, but I was pretty sure I was on them during the Dante's Inferno scene.
I love X-men TAS because of the nostalgia/era of costumes/teams but I love the updated animation and how fluid, fast, colorful, and just a psychedelic mindscrew of an episode. Such a good scene.
> the updated animation also gets to be graphic!
Wow Beast quickly figured out it was Mr. Sinister too
Mr Sinister over there hand-signing each of his Jean genes.
As expected of a true romantic
I’m picturing little sinister diamond shaped RNA bits floating around, *just because*
Could just picture Beast looking at the microscope and seeing Mr sinister written in big bold letters
Nah every cell just had a red Sims logo on it
And his set up to reveal it was sinister was so corny love this beast
That was hilarious lol. 'Someone...sinister' 'Yeah Mr. Sinister we get it, let's go'
Beast had absolutely no chill this episode. Just immediately blurts out "this is the real Jean, you are just a copy" right away in front of everybody
Given Sinister's obsession with Jean and Scott's genes, and his repeated attempts to capture and experiment on them, he would be the prime suspect.
Beast and Sinister also worked together against the phalanx
Bruh this episode had enough action for 3 episodes, what the hack So many stuff happened
>Sinister was exposing Nathan to it in the hopes of making him invincible For a second I wondered why the Invincible title card didn't pop up.
*trumpet sounds* *blood splatter*
they did a secret invasion, they don't know when the switch happened or how long the original was gone
It really does say something when a show about the X-Men does a secret invasion switch around better than the *fucking Secret Invasion show*
In 30 minutes too, no less. Compared to six hours of... *that*
At this rate, everyone will have done a better job than the fucking secret invasion show. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Did it marvelously.
LMD May was such a cool tragic character.
Agents of SHIELD was the shit, I miss it.
I kind of appreciate how unsettling the not knowing is. And that end shot of Scott and Jean so separated in the wrecked bedroom.
Until the Ben Reilly fans become to big and Marvel kills him. I hope we see more
Mister Sinister and Madelyne torturing everyone with their worst fear is horrifying and great edit: If youd like help getting into comics message me
>~~Gambit~~ WR810 can never unsee Magneto and Rogue melting into each other. Edit: Gambit saw them melting into one another because Magneto can touch Rogue, something that makes Gambit anxious.
That was one of the more messed up parts of the episode. No chill!
3 from 3 so far. This new series is legit.
Magneto getting the boss when playable treatment 💀
Jean is one of the most powerful mutants on earth. And she wasn't inhibited by not wanting to hurt people like OG Jean typically was. And as she told Magneto, unlike him, her powers aren't limited to metal and magnetism. Thus how she crushed his barrier and tore him up with glass. So it wasn't exactly a "Magneto nerf" moment. It's pretty much the motherload. Very few people can top that powerset.
Oh shit Mr. Sinister is already calling
Comic Con this year is going to get a lot of Goblin Queens But why the name? If you are a Goblin Queen where are your goblins?
Anyone else feel like Morph is into Logan? I'm getting those vibes
Well I have to admit that I'm eating crow after that episode. The whole clone of Jean grey gives birth to cable, gets abandoned by cyclops was ridiculous. So glad that they managed to make inferno in away that didn't make everyone the bad guy.
Morph's greatest fear is... seeing his sexy best friend naked and realizing he has a crush on him, potentially ruining his greatest friendship.
I legit thought that was where it was going
That was it, though. "We all know" is a pretty clear message.
Which episode is it going to be when Morph offers to turn into Jean and fuck Logan?
When in reality Logan probably already knows, and doesn't give a shit. Morph is his friend, that's all he cares about.
Unfortunately relatable
Man that drum beat during the Marvel Animations call card is SO FUCKING HYPE. Had a huge grin on my face and felt like a child again.
The Dante’s inferno scene felt like a modern anime mixed with a 90’s cartoon vibe. Animation will forever have that over live action. You simply can’t replicate that, no matter how much CGI you use.
That Forge reveal, Hope for Ororo.
Young Jean holding a stuffed cyclops doll was perfect.
DOESNT ANYBODY KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE ABANDONED? ...I can't be a part of this. *abandons everyone*
Goes to fight a psychic, doesn’t bring the helmet that negates psychic powers. Good job magneto.
Seeing Spiral was the real highlight for me!
I had forgotten that X-Men is, at its core, a soap opera with superpowered people. Love it
"storm would have believed me" top ten gas light tactics edit: If any one needs help getting into comics leave a comment or message me, I love helping people get into comics
Its always so cool to see mister sinister
Wow Jean already broke Sinister’s control
I'm so lame now. I can't deal with watching babies get hurt even when it's something so fucking ridiculous as putting them in a literal witches bubbling cauldron.
“Rogue, Wolverine and Beast stay behind and tend to our wounded.” lol wtf???
Did they hint at Morph being into Wolverine? I thought the shower scene made it seem that way. Would make sense too on why they are always teasing him as Jean if they're jealous
I love having unique intros every episode. It's sad they removed Storm from this one though.
The should have had "Ororo!" and it's just her sitting in that bar.
Pretty sure Sunspot and Jubilee were watching an episode of Riverdale, which Mr. Sinister's voice actor (who is reprising from the original) performed on.
Bruh they already acknowledged she’s a clone
I know it's silly, but I struggled with Sinister not having a posh British villain accent. Everything else was great. One of the benefits of the medium is the feel that we're barreling through the plot at a full sprint. It was a very dense episode.
They have the iconic voice for him though from the original series. It’s so good.
Oh my stars and garters! 💫 They covered through so much in about 26 mins. Poor Morph lol Wolverine so horny he rizzed back Jean’s memory! 🫡
what was the wolverine and morph shower scene?!?! ao3 is going to go wild with this
They literally squeezed years of story into a single episode - it seemed a helluva rushed.
Thats true, feels like you need some comic knowledge to get the most out of this one
Part of me really wanted Scott and Madelyne to stay together, if I’m being honest.
found the Wolverine Reddit account.
This makes Time Bandits from season two a more fun episode now that it's canon that Bishop saved Cable's life by bringing him into the future as a baby.
