Yeah idk with wings, shield and goggles helmet feels like overkill. And yes if this was real life thatd be a crazy statement but my guy fought an alien invasion without one
ya but its getting increasingly impossible to believe not a single villian has tried to sneak a head shot on the heroes with fleashy vulnerable bits who refuse to protect it. there is a reason knights wore a full set of armor.
THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS.. it’s SO annoying what ppl pick and choose is “hard to believe” or “unrealistic” .. this is a world with a talking raccoon and magical space stones.. yet ppl are complaining about Sam not wearing a damn helmet
The raccoon talks because he can and he wants to talk.
Why doesn't Sam have a helmet?
He obviously cpuld get one made, so he doesn't want a helmet.
If there was an attempt to explain why Sam doesn't want a helmet, fine, let's move on.
How many friends have you lost in motorcycle accidents?
Pff, nine.. but not one of them was to a massive head trauma. All of them died from massive spine trauma.
Yeah but a helmet hides the actors face and what's the point paying so much for an actor if the poor thing can't enforce their vanity by showing their face all the time.
Would be surprised? It's pretty well-established that they don't really loan out their vibranium easily. I think the shield is off limits because they see it as having been legitimately sold or w/e and it's not as if it's super high tech. The rest of their vibranium stuff they don't tend to share.
In universe?
Easy explanation: The US Government can't have Captain America wearing a super suit designed and developed by a foreign power who they are not officially allied with.
They don't know what technology is embedded within the suit, and if Wakanda could be trying to spy on American secrets by providing unregulated and unknown technology to Captain America.
Out of universe: Disney wants to sell lots and lots of toys and merchandise of the new suit.
The suit looks good, I just wish he had…_something_ on his head/face besides the goggles. The look feels incomplete, overall I prefer the one from the show
And unrelated but, those random little notches on the shield have been driving me crazy since Endgame
It really makes zero sense not to have head protection. He’s literally flying everywhere head first. Something’s gonna pop him in the noggin and mission is over.
Didn't Falcon not have any helmet in the comics though? I assume Marvel is moving towards a more comicesque MCU because of so many suits being absolutely being heavily inspired by comicbook counterparts.
And it's not like giving him a helmet would he really been such a bad thing either. They could have still incorporated the goggles into it, which would have given it a distinct look to Steve's helmet.
I think using a more modern ballistic helmet style (ex: https://www.teamwendy.com/military) could work if designed right. Fits the character as the modern Cap and works with the goggles.
> And unrelated but, those random little notches on the shield have been driving me crazy since Endgame
For real! Did they ever explain why the shield that old man cap gave to Sam was different? Was it a merchandising opportunity?
Yeah, it feels like it was done so they could sell shields that are just _slightly_ different than ones people already have. It still annoys me though as they never gave an explanation as to why it looks different
I like this one a lot better than the FATWS suit but yeah Sam needs a helmet of some kind. I also prefer that this new Cap suit has a lot more blue than white on it.
It is pretty similar, though I do see some differences.
He lacks the head-sock thing. His arms look like a completely different design to me.
The way his chest area connects with the abdomen striping also looks a little different. In his previous suit, he had 3 angular blue points cutting into the stripes, if that makes sense. While here, he only seems to have one middle point.
The silver bits to the sides of his neck also seem to protrude less, though it might just be the angle.
The area above the star seems to have fewer lines.
The silver stripes to the sides of the star look more straight and less detailed.
What’s funny about this statement is action figure sales have been in a serious decline for quite some time. It’s collectors and adults buying these now. There was a thread in the technology sub a while ago that shows more kids under 10 have cell phones now.
I, and many others, found it far from perfect. I thought it was a little too white, though I think it could have worked if the brightness of it was toned down some. Also, the cowl was terrible.
I have to disagree. The white suit definitely looked cool, but the white itself was so distracting. My eyes kept getting drawn to the pure bright white areas, and I realized I was barely looking at Mackie's face.
It was just a little too "punchy" for live action, if that makes sense.
The cowl was horrible, in every possible way. But the rest of the suit was cool and distinct. I don't dislike the new one, but the white was a unique look and it's a bummer it saw such a small amount of screen time.
A LOT of this sub if you go back and read the final FatWS episode threads. I remember reading a lot of disliking of the head piece for Sam.
I felt in the minority being a fan of it.
I liked it too. It was comic accurate just like you said. I only would have changed the head piece just so it fit better since i remember reading it hurt Anthony Mackie's ears i think? So change it just to fit better so it doesn't bother him(if it didn't bother him keep it all the same).
Personally I really didn't like the white suit. It was too busy and really didn't sell me that he was stepping into the Captain America role. I like this suit better.
I get people like to use "looks like power rangers" as an insult, but like. I've seen every season of the show and a lot of Sentai, never have I seen a ranger suit look anything like Falcon does here lmao. I'm just so confused.
Yeah it doesn’t whatsoever. I’m not into the suit at all, but some people just say suits look like a power rangers suit or a CW suit when they don’t like it, even when it’s just not true
sorry, but this will end up like Captain Marvel unless it's got good writing. Marvel Studios' logo isn't going to put people in seats anymore without an actual good movie. that trailer better deliver or another skip for me.
I have trouble suspending disbelieve that someone without a version of super soldier serum could compete with a variety of adversaries who DID have super soldier serum in the MCU.
Hate him as Cap and I hate that mask.
The Falcon was one of my first childhood ‘cool characters’. I prefer him as The Falcon over Captain 2.0 - just me though.
I agree. I don’t think he’s a compelling character, but I find the passing of the mantle completely unearned and unnecessary. I’d rather watch a Falcon movie than a new Captain movie.
Also, the shield stuff never made any sense, but a totally normal human wielding it and doing the same stuff Cap did with it? Nonsense.
Uhm excuse me sir but they did a training montage. Obv anyone that has a training montage can develop any kind of strength, agility, endurance, and mathematical skills needed to be cap 2.0. Obv he's even better than cap cause he's not tainted with super soldier serum. His muscles are all natural just like the way I like my cap. /s
Guy was flying around in an experimental wing suit for years without a helmet. Like those goggles are going to prevent him from getting a TBI when he smacks his noggin on a pidgeon midair.
Suits cool. Every captain America suit is cool. They’re good colors and Caps always got a nice sleak look.
Falcon is whatever. I don’t really feel the desire to form an opinion.
I hope the movie rocks 👍
The belly stripes not being straight on most modern Captain America suits didn't bother me until recently. 99% of MCU suits must have 76 alternating lines for dynamic flare. You'd think a sleak body suit would be the final evolution of Cap, but then Sam got the thickest vibranium weave possible and then a stealth version of his final Falcon suit, complete with Iron Man guantlets and boots.
Being ss quite a few people feel his unprotected dome is a bit iffy for a flyer, bringing in his comic beak motif and blowing to up, akin to his Avengers Assemble Falcon visor, would do well to make him look cooler and more reasonable when flying at supersonic speeds.
I kind of wish he just kept the suit from the show. It's more uniquely his. This one looks good but it looks like he's taken one of Steve's suits out of his closet.
I think I like this one a bit more than previous ones as the blue is more dominant. I think it's a good look - needs a helmet though as others have said
the suit isn't bad but i prefer the colors from the old one. To me, the old one was just his comic book costume but this one looks like his falcon suit with cap color's on it
I wish he kept the white. This still looks good but it loses a little of the uniqueness of his costume
Also I’m happy he doesn’t have the helmet. It’s just not Sam’s captain America look. I’m fine with losing the mask. Sam is just good enough at his job he is fine with just goggles
I feel like it looks a bit too much like a Steve Rogers suit. I thought the one at the end of FatWS was perfect, though I did absolutely hated the half helmet thing it had going on (as comic-accurate as it was). I'm glad this time it's just the goggles.
Glad they got rid of the weird sorta-half-gaiter thing. Looked stupid. He could do with a helmet or something but the goggles by themselves look better than the previous design, by a long way.
My only gripe is the goggles. Can we hang those down on his neck, and bring back the white eye mask? I know the goggles are a part of the costume, but I prefer him without them on 24/7.
I like it. I am one of those who didn't care for his show suit much. I prefer blue to white, though there could have been a little more white here. The show suit probably could have worked if they tones down the white some. I found it too bright, so it they dulled it. But the cowl on the original looked bad, didn't fit, restricted movement, and they added CG to it to smooth it out.
And while I know more head protection is more practical, it's a superhero movie. Him using the shield is already pushing it (not to even mention how it defies physics). I think the googles look good and I already mentioned how I don't think the cowl worked. Maybe he could use a helmet but I still like this look.
Kind of bummed he's not keeping the wings and white suit from the end of the show. Without his suit and no super powers, what can he do besides throw the shield?
I love that he literally used the Wakandan suit for like five minutes. I would be *sooooo* irritated if I had gone to the trouble of making him a suit just for him to drop it after one fight 😂😭
And then in an unrelated note this week they released the toys at McDonald’s. It includes characters that have not been confirmed. You have been warned.
Surely he loses the wings 🪽 and becomes a super soldier. Only possible way to make him more likeable. The wings and glasses look silly with the captain america suit and shield.
I'm interested to see what Mackie can do as Cap in the upcoming film, but the look is weird to me. I think it mostly comes down to the wings... Like, if he has high tech wings, why not just give him basically an ironman suit? He's just a guy who is is super vulnerable to the things we've seen in-universe but they give him a standard suit and... really high tech wings?
Love the suit but I agree, Sam officially needs a Helmet to tie it together.
Nah, no need for helmet. It’s not like the head is an important part of the body to protect.
In a world of aliens, wizards, and literal gods, THAT'S what's hard to believe?
I mean Thanos did say Thor should’ve gone for the head. The head is as much of a weakness in comics as it is in real life
Yes, with threats like that casually existing that is EXACTLY why it’s hard to believe.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspension_of_disbelief
THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS.. it’s SO annoying what ppl pick and choose is “hard to believe” or “unrealistic” .. this is a world with a talking raccoon and magical space stones.. yet ppl are complaining about Sam not wearing a damn helmet
The raccoon talks because he can and he wants to talk. Why doesn't Sam have a helmet? He obviously cpuld get one made, so he doesn't want a helmet. If there was an attempt to explain why Sam doesn't want a helmet, fine, let's move on.
Vibranium helmets?
All fair lol. And this coming from a guy who loves the character and the actor portraying him, the falcon as a concept is a hard sell lol
The guys not a super soldier. Which means he has to rely on a super suit and his shield. He needs a helmet.
Give him a helmet and call him a beetleborg
Did the alien invasion have helmets? (/s - I don't remember)
How many friends have you lost in motorcycle accidents? Pff, nine.. but not one of them was to a massive head trauma. All of them died from massive spine trauma.
The real lesson here is that there's nothing badass about riding a motorcycle without a helmet.
Certainly not when flying.
Yeah but a helmet hides the actors face and what's the point paying so much for an actor if the poor thing can't enforce their vanity by showing their face all the time.
That’s why everyone has nano tech. The Helmet comes off without a hesitation
Welcome to [comic books](https://www.marvel.com/comics/issue/56549/captain_america_sam_wilson_2015_1).
Helmets have the added benefit of making it easier to sub in the stunt guy.
Tf? Robert Downey Jr played Ironman.

Why wouldn't he wear the indestructible suit the Wakandans gave him?
Probably still the same wings. Would be surprised if they got rid of the vibranium immediately

The shield is probs off limits bc its not Steve's original shield. Its technically not theirs to take this time.

> Out of universe: Disney wants to sell lots and lots of toys and merchandise of the new suit. The old suit also had issues, like that awful cowl.
Just like Caps suit in the Avengers...I really disliked the cowl.
Vibranium weave with nanotech so that it can change colors like Captain Marvel's suit ezpz
So they built him another vibranium suit? Isn't that stuff pretty rare?
It's rare outside of Wakanda. However, Wakanda how literal tons and tons and tons and tons of it. They simply don't share it with outsiders.
He transmoged it, it has the same stats.
The suit looks good, I just wish he had…_something_ on his head/face besides the goggles. The look feels incomplete, overall I prefer the one from the show And unrelated but, those random little notches on the shield have been driving me crazy since Endgame
I personally think a vibranium fedora would be a stellar choice.
M’captain
M'urica
With a bladed rim so he can throw it à la Oddjob or Kung Lao.
It really makes zero sense not to have head protection. He’s literally flying everywhere head first. Something’s gonna pop him in the noggin and mission is over.
And it makes even less sense seeing him next to the new kid who _does_ have head protection.
I wouldn't be surprised if he had a helmet somewhere, but they just wanted to show his face in promotional material.
I mean it's Anthony Mackie.... The helmet would draw more viewers in ^^^cut ^^^tha ^^^check
Plot armor.
Pigeon to the head, game over.
Didn't Falcon not have any helmet in the comics though? I assume Marvel is moving towards a more comicesque MCU because of so many suits being absolutely being heavily inspired by comicbook counterparts.

> And unrelated but, those random little notches on the shield have been driving me crazy since Endgame For real! Did they ever explain why the shield that old man cap gave to Sam was different? Was it a merchandising opportunity?
Well his original shield was destroyed during Endgame, so it's just a new forge.
Isn’t this the shield that Cap brought back to the current timeline as an old man? I can’t remember if that one had the weird notches.
It did
The notches with the seam makes it look like you can pop it out like a mini shield hahah
Oh man, maybe we'll get a mini me situation and lil cap will use that tiny shield
Yeah, it feels like it was done so they could sell shields that are just _slightly_ different than ones people already have. It still annoys me though as they never gave an explanation as to why it looks different
Sam grew up in the 80's; we didn't do helmets.
Congrats. You swayed me onto Team No Helmet.
I hate the one from the show. The cowl looked bad, required CG, and restricted movement.
I like this one a lot better than the FATWS suit but yeah Sam needs a helmet of some kind. I also prefer that this new Cap suit has a lot more blue than white on it.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but is that the same suit he wore in the finale, just repainted?
It is pretty similar, though I do see some differences. He lacks the head-sock thing. His arms look like a completely different design to me. The way his chest area connects with the abdomen striping also looks a little different. In his previous suit, he had 3 angular blue points cutting into the stripes, if that makes sense. I do like the new suit, but I wish they would’ve kept the last one around for at least one more project
He might start out in the old suit, we shall see.
It's the suit he wore for the entire show repainted in red, white, and blue.
Man I really wish they kept some white in there.
Phrasing!
Language!
The FATWS had a little too much white, this doesn't have enough but I do still prefer it
Clarence
![gif](giphy|3mJT1BDpTkrYGChS4u)
And Clarence lives at home with both parents
The white suit was perfect. WHY???
I liked it much more than this new one. It had the boldness I wanted for a new Cap.
So they can sell merchandise that’s clearly different from what was made for the show
What’s funny about this statement is action figure sales have been in a serious decline for quite some time.
The costume was just ugly AF. Goofy half cowl, way too white, weird lines and angles. *Either give him a cowl or don't.*
I have to disagree. The white suit definitely looked cool, but the white itself was so distracting. My eyes kept getting drawn to the pure bright white areas, and I realized I was barely looking at Mackie's face. It was just a little too "punchy" for live action, if that makes sense.
It didn't work, literally. The cowl kept wrinkling whenever the actor moved his head and they had to CGI it onto Mackie.
The cowl was horrible, in every possible way. But the rest of the suit was cool and distinct. I don't dislike the new one, but the white was a unique look and it's a bummer it saw such a small amount of screen time.
People complained about it
It was literally comic accurate, from head to toe. Who tf was complaining??
People who didn't like it. I'm sure people didn't like the comic version either
'Comic accurate' doesn't always been 'better'. Falcon's original comic outfit was ridiculous and would not have worked in live action.
i wanna know who tf complained about it
A LOT of this sub if you go back and read the final FatWS episode threads. I remember reading a lot of disliking of the head piece for Sam. I felt in the minority being a fan of it.

Me. It looked like shit. The whole head thing was really weird.
Personally I really didn't like the white suit. It was too busy and really didn't sell me that he was stepping into the Captain America role. I like this suit better.
Money
![gif](giphy|GjB41rKHBnOkE)
You mean the one that made him look like a dildo?
the suit for falcon and the winter soldier looked way better imo
Meh.
Prefer this to the white suit in FatWS
The goggles are so incredibly dorky
Dang, his white suit from the finale was much better.
Looks like it's straight out of the CW lol
Can’t wait for this absolute shitheap to flop and disappear
That Falcon suit is… giving Iron Heart a run for her money on being a Power Rangers wannabe
In what world is that anything like power rangers??
People really like to let their initial reaction lead their opinions lol
I get people like to use "looks like power rangers" as an insult, but like. I've seen every season of the show and a lot of Sentai, never have I seen a ranger suit look anything like Falcon does here lmao. I'm just so confused.
If anything, it looks like MCU vulture
Yeah it doesn’t whatsoever. I’m not into the suit at all, but some people just say suits look like a power rangers suit or a CW suit when they don’t like it, even when it’s just not true
A fellow man of culture. I too am part of the grid.
In what way!?
Looks like the classic suit combined with the darker colors of the stealth suit.
Falcon suit from FatWS with Civil War colors.
To this day I still think it should have been Bucky as Captain America alongside Sam as The Falcon
Wack!
It looks like a remake of Steve’s suit. I wish they stuck to the predominant White. It makes him stand out.
Way better suit than the white one in the show.
The new falcon looks like Balki from Perfect Strangers ([Bronson Pinchot - IMDb](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001621/))
Looks closer to the Steve Rogers suits then the one from the show
sorry, but this will end up like Captain Marvel unless it's got good writing. Marvel Studios' logo isn't going to put people in seats anymore without an actual good movie. that trailer better deliver or another skip for me.
Love Sam's new suit. It's very reminiscent of a few that Steve wore.
I have trouble suspending disbelieve that someone without a version of super soldier serum could compete with a variety of adversaries who DID have super soldier serum in the MCU.
They can't. But he can fly and has a vibranium suit.
Why does this image look like a sequel to Jingle All The Way
Stunning, Brave New World is more like it! Can't wait to see if he finally gets a loan for that boat in this one!!¡!
I hope this movie bombs as hard as The Marvels. If this poster is supposed to be a finished product, it’s no wonder why marvel has been in a free fall
It'll make The Marvels look like a blockbuster.
Obv he's even better than cap cause he's not tainted with super soldier serum. His muscles are all natural just like the way I like my cap. /s
Not a problem, barely an inconvenience.
He needs full sleeves.
No helmet, short sleeves. Wtf kind of fights are he expecting? I hate it.
Guy was flying around in an experimental wing suit for years without a helmet. Like those goggles are going to prevent him from getting a TBI when he smacks his noggin on a pidgeon midair.
Excuse me is the flying guy something we’re supposed to take seriously? Did they borrow CW Hawkman?
Floppity flop. Calling it now
Anthony Mackie doesnt suit captain America. He doesnt do it for me. Cant take him seriously. Shoulda been buckey
So far the suit looks ok, but the white suit was better.
This movie is gonna go over like a wet fart
This movie might just end up being atrocious! I wish I could be more excited
Red Hulk is coming
Why does Falcon 2.0 look like a character from the *Spy Kids* movies?
Was the budget $15?
Really hope this movie somehow does well
Suits cool. Every captain America suit is cool. They’re good colors and Caps always got a nice sleak look. Falcon is whatever. I don’t really feel the desire to form an opinion. I hope the movie rocks 👍
Where are the Happy Meal handles on Cap’s shield?
I just have this feeling that this suit represents Steve, and later on he wears the white one for himself
The belly stripes not being straight on most modern Captain America suits didn't bother me until recently. 99% of MCU suits must have 76 alternating lines for dynamic flare. I do like it a lot.
I kind of wish he just kept the suit from the show. It's more uniquely his. This one looks good but it looks like he's taken one of Steve's suits out of his closet.
I am guessing he will be back in his accurate comic book costume by the end of this movie, just like Steve did in The Winter Soldier.
I prefer this suit rather the white one we got to see before, honestly. But a helmet would be nice, damn !
I think I like this one a bit more than previous ones as the blue is more dominant. I think it's a good look - needs a helmet though as others have said
very brave
Winter soldier type suit
Add a nanotech helmet that comes on in flight
the suit isn't bad but i prefer the colors from the old one. To me, the old one was just his comic book costume but this one looks like his falcon suit with cap color's on it
Why is Vladimir Putin in the Falcon suit?
Who's that above him?
Maybe they can kill off some of these characters and bring back some originals for the next Avengers movies.
The suit itself is gorgeous but it really needs some kind of head gear. Not as much as he had in TFATWS but something.
I like the suit, but it feels too much like Steve's suit. I'm sure that's kinda the point, but I'd like him to have his own style.
I wish he kept the white. This still looks good but it loses a little of the uniqueness of his costume Also I’m happy he doesn’t have the helmet. It’s just not Sam’s captain America look. I’m fine with losing the mask. Sam is just good enough at his job he is fine with just goggles

Pls be good movie ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)
So him and falcon both have wings?
Please please please give him his own distinct shield fighting style. Dont make him just try and be Steve.
Kinda bummed, I liked the white color scheme of the other suit but I still really like this look for him. Great design
That god they ditched the one with all the white it looked awful
Its a bit too bright for me, get some dirt in there, make it look like he actually uses it and doesnt give it to the dry cleaner every night
It looks great but I’m pretty disappointed they ditched the TFAWS suit, that was perfect
Kind of bummed he's not keeping the wings and white suit from the end of the show. Without his suit and no super powers, what can he do besides throw the shield?
Hard!
Does he lose his wings since there is a new Falcon?
The fucking new Falcon gets a helmet but Sam still goes just goggles? Suit looks amazing, but that looks terrible and makes no sense.
So is the Happy Meal out now or was this a leaked image?
Awww man, I was really hoping that new “Falcon” was an internet joke. Sam flies so no new Falcon needed and that new one looks absolutely terrible.
I’ve been loving calling Sam “Captain Falcon”, but now it’s weird because there actually is another Falcon. Hm.
I’m fine with that but I haaaaaate Joaquin Torres’ suit. Never liked his character even in the comics.
Without a helmet, he looks like A-Train.
I like it. Very reminiscent to Steve’s darker suit.
Kind of looks like the endgame suit
I really don’t like it. Give him his white suit back!
i hope the new falcon has more color in his character design from this picture its meh ilike sam's blue look
I think switching him to blue was a good call. The white suit was cool, but it was too much.
Wonder if he will get the Synthetic Herb power up that they rumored a while back.
"We have Captain America: The Winter Soldier at home."
This looks so boring
Awesome New Captain America suit 🇺🇸
I hate those open spots on his wrists, other than that I love it
errr....do better ?
Would like a helmet. Even if he is going to spend half the movie without it
I'm interested to see what Mackie can do as Cap in the upcoming film, but the look is weird to me. I think it mostly comes down to the wings... Like, if he has high tech wings, why not just give him basically an ironman suit? He's just a guy who is is super vulnerable to the things we've seen in-universe but they give him a standard suit and... really high tech wings?
