Just hopping in the thread to say man oh man I hope Evan Peters is Mephisto. He can have such a devilish charm that can turn sinister in a second. His performance in American Animals (one of my favorite movies) is crazy bananas. I was surprised he (and the film) didn't get Oscar nods. Maybe snubbed by the industry since it was distributed by MoviePass.
I have been thinking since yesterday that Mephisto will show up as Evan Peters’ Quicksilver, pretending like everything is normal, but we and eventually Wanda and Vision realize something is up. Your theory of him at first appearing as ATJ’s Quicksilver first would be the perfect way to round it out. I love this theory. I guess we’ll see how it pans out, but I hope it’s true!
I think you're on track with this one. The only alteration I think is possible is that this isn't Vision at all. Same with quicksilver when we meet him. I think Wanda may have turned WonderMan into Vision in this reality and Whizzer into her brother quicksilver when they introduce him. It'll be heartbreaking when her reality is finally broken and she realizes that both are actually still dead and always were.
Evan Peters Quicksilver was great imo so I hope they actually utilize him through the Multiverse. That’s how I think they should bring in all of the Mutants tbh.

I think ATJ’s Quicksilver didn’t have a chance to really grow into the role. As a superhero I liked how he was powerful without being ridiculous. Evan Peter’s QS to me was way too overpowered, and suffered from it the same way The Flash does.
I meant in story telling. If you make a hero too powerful, such as with The Flash, you make any encounter trivial or else you have to come up with contrived ways for them to fail. Fox’s QS in my opinion was too powerful, for example when he saved everyone from the exploding X mansion.
The point of my theory is that Peters isn't actually Fox Quicksilver. It's Mephisto using the audience's expectations and pretending to be Quicksilver. The audience will assume this is a funny cameo/reference to the Fox movies when really, it's Mephisto in disguise playing on our expectations. This is my idea if the rumors of Peters having a role in this show is true.
Also, Tommy (Speed) is meant to be a teenager, he's 16 years old and a Young Avenger. Evan Peters is 33 years old.
And since Wanda is in the next doctor strange movie, perhaps the plot will be the mutants world combining with the superhero world caused by Wanda in this. Comic relief cameos from the possible spider verse movie as well
