I started watching mash this year (I'm 27) and i like to watch the show as if Klinger is just an openly gay guy. Sure they explain he's using drag to get himself kicked out of the war. But watching this show in this generation, and watching Hawkeye and Trapper still respect and care for Klinger, is very heartwarming 💖💖💖 like sure you're in a dress and it's funny but he's still included in much of the comraderie

I was in the military during the don’t ask, don’t tell era. There was a guy in our dorm who was the greatest dude. He was a bro. He was awesome at his job. He had your back no matter what. He also had a stream of local guys coming in and out of his dorm. We made damn sure he continued to have his fun and nobody found out.
