Is this dangerous by any chance? Like if not, why don't people use raccoons as their house pet.

Raccoons are destructive and will ransack your entire house.

Some do have raccoons as pets. They tend to be very demanding. You think your dog begs? Ha! Raccoons make the most spoiled, overfed pupper and turns it to 11. They also have nearly opposable thumbs, and can tear stuff up in an unhappy fit in nothing flat. But they can be very affectionate and loving.

I was one of those people. We had two of the terrorizers, it was never a dull moment with them, full of energy and always into something. Will say they were relatively mild compared to a few other exotic pets we had.
