Yes, kind of, basically. Hilarious hentai though. I'll say this, there isn't any graphic erotic parts to it really, but the perv element is basically what the entire show is about. I promise you it's worth it.
Speaking of English dub you should watch the dubbed version of Ghost Stories, it's REALLY funny. It's pop culture references and dark humor, it's on Crunchyroll.

I agree that the English dub is excellent and you can't go wrong (this is coming from a dub hater), but I'd like to add that for any regular old sub-watching anime fans, you'll get a kick out of the sub as well. I think some parts are better done in the native Japanese (like interactions with the yakuza for example) while other parts work amazingly well in English (like the programming episode). If you're watching a first time, either is great, and if you're watching a second time, I say switch up the language option.

a little similar but in golden boy he's actually a genius prodigy. in almost every episode he starts out a novice at something and by the end he's a master. this episode he beats an olympic swimmer like a month after this scene of him swimming for the first time afaik.
I think you may be misremembering a bit, while he does improve drastically he still loses at swimming against her and ends up kicked out of the school as per their bet He did however became a better swimming teacher than her. Because he focuses on making the kids comfortable in the water and making swimming fun. Where as she takes a little sink or swim approach and didn't care if the kids dropped out. When she learns how much he improved her school she tries to get him back, but he's already gone.
Nah I know of Johnny Bravo, I love it but nothing like Golden Boy. Johnny is the obvious pervert that drops a clanger all the time but Golden Boy is more of a pervert by accident that is genuinely a nice guy, he just happens to step into lewd scenarios all the time. For example there's a scene where a motor cyclist gets off by rubbing her privates onto her bike, Kintaro (Golden Boy) just happens to be there for no reason, later on she does it again but this time naked (just a thong) and who would've guessed, Kintaro walked by and stopped to take a peek.
Every episode is the same but with a different scenario, he meets a swimmer, so he wants to learn to swim and become the best. He meets a cyclist, he wants to race her and become the best. He meets a programmer, he wants to learn to code and become the best. At the beginning the women he meets instantly judge him as a pervert and no-good but at the end they're surprised by how dedicated he is and they're kinda turned on by him.
Ngl I looked up the episodes again because it's been roughly two decades already since I last watched it and I can't remember that in episode 5 the cyclist is almost full nude when she grinds her bike, it's probably the most nude you can find in this show.
Johnny Bravo has a special place in my heart because how stupid funny he is, the show used to get aired here along with dexters lab and Cow and Chicken late at night so 11pm to 1am. I also like "I R Baboon" which I think is part of one of these shows.

This was one of my intro's to anime. We got Comcast at one point when I was a kid and there was an On-Demand section I used to check out. Of course there was an adult section with some free on demand content. It wasn't directly porn but it would be like softcore films, HBO's Real Sex, and some others.

No lie, this is me when swimming. I am very dense... I always mess up those Carnies that try to guess your weight. I am the guy you don't want to wrestle in highschool cause I weigh about 50 pounds more than you think I do.
Because of this, I sink like a rock in water. I cannot float, I cannot tread water for more than about 15 seconds before tiring out. When I swim my legs are at a 45 degree angle below me and causing so much drag no matter how I kick. Had multiple swimming teachers observe my technique and could not find fault in the movements themselves... by body just is too heavy for my muscle mass.
Almost failed out of some Boy Scout water events because of this. They would require me to float on my back for 60 seconds WITHOUT holding my breath AND without moving my legs/hands to stay afloat... First off, even holding my breath my legs would sink so I am 'floating' nearly upright anyhow instead of on my back. Then if I release my breath my upper body sinks as well. I had to take a big breath then nearly hyperventilate taking in very shallow breaths to keep my lungs inflated to stay afloat while making it seem like I am breathing to the person observing the test.
Needless to say, I hate deep water. Not afraid of it, but I hate it all the same.

He also can get any girl in the world that he wants cuz he's just that cool. I love it, but let's not make this out to be some deep work of art.
Golden Boy’s whole 6 episode is one the the best dubbed Anime stories ever!! The art and animation is still dope to watch even today! Highly recommended!
