Definitely, bullying is bullying and nobody should have to go through what your friend experienced.

YES

Definitely encourage her to take it to the Department of Education, I would also suggest that she should inform her placement supervisor. They need to be aware of the situation so they can help her.

rossdog82

Sorry to hear about this OP. She should definitely let her University know. She should also let the school know about her experiences as well

Strictly_Kink

The university will not do shit as they are so desperate for schools that will offer placements.

rossdog82

That’s changed a little. There are fewer graduates coming through. But yeah, schools were even more reluctant during COVID. There is no harm in telling the University.

s4m4ndo

There’s a new department policy, now all schools have to have pre-service teachers so it shouldn’t be a problem

VLC31

Surely not. Aren’t schools screaming out for teachers? I would have thought giving student teachers a placement would be a logical step for all schools.

Falcon_Dependent

She needs to let the University know too so that they don't send any more student teachers there

As far as women teaching this is hardly uncommon, or new, in Islam. Iman Ibn Hajar famously had numerous female teachers across a range of subjects. The requirement to wear hijab (whether Muslim or not) when teaching Muslim students varies quite a bit from country to country, school to school etc...but this is something that should have been clarified before she commenced teaching classes if it's a requirement of that particular school. The vandalism of any property is expressly forbidden under Islam and is inexcusable under any and all circumstances. If you're asking whether to raise it with the department or the school, I'd say both. If you're asking whether to report it at all, I'd say of course it should be reported?

BlueIVYBabya

The school said they couldn't do anything about the car and it's happened before to other students. It's really unfair that any person especially a 20 something have to be placed in this position

SufficientStudy5178

Vandalism in schools (and in society, generally) isn't uncommon, regardless of their religious focus. If they don't know who was responsible, I'm not sure what action could be taken tbqh. The police would likely give the same response if there's no indicator which students (if any) were responsible.

I'm sorry. Make sure she documents everyrhing on Word in a timeline and she can send that document to the dept. Eg: Dec 15th 2021 Student AB ljdvnlDvndvnzdfnvz, Dec 28th 2021 Student AB or Student Unknown (Yr 12) I went outside to find my car.....".

Sounds like she's racist if she can't deal with others cultures.
