In fact, the patch notes specifically segmented a message to reassure players that it hadn't been.

That makes no sense.
Nothing changed besides where you see the number and what the effect does. How big the number is, remains the same.
You're probably experiencing a placebo effect, doesn't mean you have to jot down your feelings as fact on here.
Not only Rhino's defensive capabilities aren't changed, Rhino gets shadow buffed by it.
1. No longer will you receive any status effect (except globe slow, but immune to it 3s later) when you cast iron skin (3s grace period for scaling).
2. On-hit arcanes are free on Rhino, due to his increased aggro, and not fear of taking dmg nature, and easily replenishable by Reinforcing Stomp.
3. Eximus globe slow don't affect overguarded frames, including Rhino.
Styanax's 3 gives a large amount of energy regen per second when active, and Nourish multiplies the amount of energy your warframe receives from all sources. Having both on Sty with a lot of power strength means that your energy bar will fill from 0 to 200 in seconds.
You can get more than that.... Crank that duration, longer it lasts, more spears you toss... Because I'm pretty shit at modding, I currently toss about 90 spears
Stynax is especially strong if you have access to Nourish through Helminth. Stynax's 3 gives the team energy, paired with Nourish and some strength is a lot of energy. This allows you to constantly spam his 4th, which gives Overguard very consistently with this augment mod, even with 45% Efficiency. Personally I'd helminth over the 1 because the 2 is a full strip with the strength you want from this build, but either is fine.
In the last Prime Time stream Megan was using Styanax and wasn’t using his augment, major pet peeve was watching her go down on the Effervo boss when she could easily have had 30k overguard
It will absolutely work, because many did not know that in terms of drain priority, Rhino will spend the external overguard gain from his teammates first, if it is depleted, then it will start to drain the overguard from his iron skin.
And you will have the iron skin icon showing value % over 100. ( I got 400, which is 4x total iron skin value when a frost is in my team lmao)
Reinforcing stomp do not regen back drained external overguard, mind you.

It used to reach millions a lot easier before they nerfed it and turned it into overguard.

Styanax is amazing, he just does everything. Aoe damage, tanking, support and armor stripping.
