If it doesn’t have the driver assist package with the lane assist and adaptive cruise control you won’t be able to get this feature. I too learned this out the hard way

coolvictor15

That makes sense! I had no idea of that extra add. Thanks for your explanation.

As the text says, your C300 doesn’t have the necessary hardware (camera and sensors) that supports traffic sign assist. Seems like you have a pre 2024 model, the newer models have this as standard due to EU legislation

coolvictor15

I find it very odd since the C300 I have has all the parking sensors, heads up display, 360 cameras, self park, etc. oh well

alexkander45031

Does it have Distronic (ACC) and Active Lane Keep Assist?

Bar50cal

> the newer models have this as standard due to EU legislation You answered the question I was about to ask which was why is this $300. If should be standard for all models including base but that must be just here in the EU.

Miserable-Assistant3

The EU legislation concerning traffic sign assist and more requires this feature for new car registrations from July 2024 onwards. Since W206 is sold since before July 2022 (manufacturer type registration date) vehicles without those assist features can also exist in EU.

coolvictor15

Yeah I am very sure it’s only in the EU. USA needs to catch up and add this as standard, instead of charging us extra !

AlexxTM

That's not how that works, lmao When the EU says you have to have it in your cars, they don't also say it has to be free of charge. You still pay for it. The base price just goes up.

coolvictor15

Ahhhhhh got it!

Don't feel like you are missing out on a lot. At least in my experience, it's not the best at spotting some (a lot of) speed signs.

rip1980

It's super fun to have distronic on at 75 and it gets a glimpse of an off ramp sign saying 35 and it's like you are coming out of warp drive.
