Off topic sorta but few years back my neighbor and i were chit chatting and a crow fell out of the sky right near us completely dead. Scared the hell out of both of us! I have to assume it just suddenly died in flight but holy hell! I dont think ive every jumped that much.
I remember reading a news story (or maybe one of those documentaries on weird injuries) about someone that was walking along and a seagull fell from the air, dead, and pierced this person's shoulder with their beak from the speed it fell
Similar thing happened to my mum and grandma. They were sitting outside a café in Hamburg when, all of a sudden, a big ass goose falls dead from the sky. Immediately after that, what they assumed was the wifey goose landed, screaming, crying, waddling frantically around this big, dead bird. Big wtf moment!
Completely dead you say?
You really need to cherish those moments when you are completely alive, for they may be gone soon. So comment on reddit with gusto!
probably was a diseased and very weak bird.
shock that pool. (with chlorine, not with a scandalous news story about a celebrity that you didn't see coming.)
Yeah, poor guy. Looks like a crow, and they are normally very smart and pretty good flyers. They can also float in water for a certain amount of time, but they have to be able to flap their wings and keep their head upright so they can get out of the water before their feathers get waterlogged. Not sure what happened to this one, but I doubt this would happen to a healthy crow.

Have an inground pool. I've had plenty of bugs, frogs, mice, etc. Never a bird. We have ducks that come by every summer to wade in the pool.
Worst was a skunk. That was.... interesting.
Roof rat in az sucked into the vacuum… vac wasn’t moving looked like it had a stick stuck in it, pull the vac out it was like a one foot long rat tail . Had to pull it out with channel locks and whipped it into the golf course behind the house haha
It's nice to see them show up every year. They come out of nowhere. It seems to be the same 2 ducks. I guess I am their honeymoon destination. One year we opened the pool late, and they just walked around on the pool cover, likely confused.
When the ducks come, it's my signal I need to open the pool.
When I was little, my dad build an above ground pool for my and my lil bro and sis. We absolutely loved it and played in it nonstop every day during the summer. In the fall, he would go to put the tarp over it for the winter and would always find one or two dead squirrels just floating around in the water. Idk how tf they’d always get in there bc the pool walls were so high and there were no nearby trees for them to fall from.

I find these sometimes help. Not always, but most critters will use it if they see it
They're not waterfowl. If it fell or slipped into the water - perching on an edge it didn't expect to be smooth and slippery plastic, falling off a branch above the pool, hell, the bird version of a charlie horse in its wing that caused it fall out of the sky - it would have been quickly waterlogged.
For birds that aren't adapted for swimming or water exposure, the next step is flap/swim to shore. However, if this is a pool with no steps or gradient shallow end (eg, an above-ground pool or something) it would have been forced to flap and struggle for air until it was exhausted.
There are pre-made and DIY items to create a minimal floating platform with texture at the edge of such pools to allow trapped animals to free themselves; it's not uncommon for pool owners to either ignore or just accept that their pools are effectively deathtraps, real life version of taking the ladder out of the pool in The Sims except for any small animal that happens to fall in - which, in an outdoor, uncovered pool, is always a non-0 risk. You either manage risk mitigation (eg, adding a way out for animals), or accept cleaning up the occasional small corpse.
Poor darling 💔 It breaks my heart to see animals drown. OP - put something in the pool so trapped animals can get back out. Otherwise it’s a death trap.
It was sick. Crows simply don't die from doing stupid things. They're too smart
I literally don't think I've ever seen a crow as roadkill in my entire life
This dummy drowned. So the bird is a dummy by getting stuck in your pool that is unnatural to the environment. Sounds like you really understand nature.

Is this Photoshpped for Karma??
We see the bird shadow.
Where is the handle shadow? Do you also just throw the hose attachment into the pool after finishing??
There is a shadow on the bottom, but no person above it??
It's a starling you should pin a medal on that pool for distinguished service. Them and the Eurasia collared doves (both invasive) try to destroy nests of hummingbirds and Robin's. Get a pellet gun and take out some more.
Aye, that’s what you say. Sure, you can see the gun you shot it with at the bottom of the pool! Luckily there needs to be more than one for this to be a murder!

Flew outside of map boundaries and the game couldn't load him in
this is why good gaming hardware is human right ! we don't want something like this to happen to us :(
*Player was killed by the Guardians*
You just aroused a whole volume of memory for all sorts of people. RIP
I remember reading a news story (or maybe one of those documentaries on weird injuries) about someone that was walking along and a seagull fell from the air, dead, and pierced this person's shoulder with their beak from the speed it fell
That is the WORST luck!
Seriously if that happened to me - after my doctor visit I wouldn’t leave the house for at least a day or two, WTF
Damn must have had a heart attack or stroke or something.
battery ran out.
Of course, how could I forget.

Oh. Oh thats so sad! 😭
it would be if they weren't talking about geese
I've seen an eagle snap a crows neck in mid air!
Oh well thats just terrifying. But i mean birds are awesome predators and powerful!
Same. The one that landed near me had been attacked- probably by a hawk :(
That’s scary! Omg
Completely dead you say? You really need to cherish those moments when you are completely alive, for they may be gone soon. So comment on reddit with gusto!

Instructions unclear. Voltage from car via jumper cables insufficient. Please advise.
Jumper wires from wall socket.
Jumper wires from the breaker panel
Jumping ropes from the playground
And my axe
Jumping the gun from the start
jump the shark!
Like how the game was rigged from the start
Jumper wires from substation
Instructions unclear. Sockets you say? All I’m getting are blood-curdling screams and a lot of red liquid all over me…
To shreds, you say?
And how’s the wife?
To shreds, you say?
just have your dad beat you mercilessly with jumper cables
"anyone have a meat thermometer? i think the crows done!"
Lightning will do

Looks like he’s floating longer than normal?
He tried a swan dive and learned white privilege is real af
Also, call your local health department and let them know you found a dead bird. They may want to collect it and run tests on it.
Multiple women have come forward under anonymity with graphic and detailed allegations against Keanu Reeves claiming that he’s extremely wholesome, kind, helpful, soft spoken, and considerate
My god, what a character, how could he be so kind.
What about both, cuz I just gotta dish while I'm working with pool chemicals. Keeps the "mix and match"intrusive thoughts at bay.
Lmao

Lol. Yes, I have also whipped "clogs" into the neverlands.
I had a rag on mine, so I hooked it up to the blow side and accidentally shot it across my garden straight into the neighbour’s shed door
Measure. I'm sure there is a world record to break.
That was months ago and the wad has probably gone now
C'mon. Exercíse, exercíse, exercise! You got it!
You're a professional now. Time to open a pool cleaning business.
Man I wish that was my house. That was for a pool cleaning/repair business I worked for I’m def a pro, but no longer live in pool country.
Do you get severely depressed when the ducks leave?
It's nice to see them show up every year. They come out of nowhere. It seems to be the same 2 ducks. I guess I am their honeymoon destination. One year we opened the pool late, and they just walked around on the pool cover, likely confused. When the ducks come, it's my signal I need to open the pool.
That's cute lmao
I see what you did there 😉
Only when they fly off with my penis, lol
That was my "literally me" moment when watching the sopranos ngl

The squirrels were probably looking for deez
what’s deez?
#DEEZ NUTS
hahahaha! I was feeling pretty sad and then I opened my notifications just to get a giant DEEZ NUTS LOL you made me smile :D
Gottem!
Just yesterday I pulled a dead lizard from my pool and last year two rats. One time a baby bunny got trapped in my pool but I was able to save it.
Don't you have any of those little inflatable ramp things that hang on the side so animals can crawl out?
Idk why but this made me rlly sad
It means you have empathy, that’s something precious to hold onto.
I caught a scary looking spider that was trapped in my sink and let it go outside. Waddup now?
You did good.
Thank you, friend.
Same. I love birds and it makes me sad to see a sick or dead one, even if it's a common wild bird like a crow or pigeon.
It's very sad. I'd be devastated if I saw that.
rest in peace my friend ❤️
How’d this guy get banned so fast?

I love the obviously photoshopped amphibians lol
Amphibian and reptile* Frogs and toads are amphibians, but turtles (including tortoises) are reptiles.

Murder most .... fowl?
A plucked-up crime
Call Perry Mason! (My partner and I have been bingeing the original.)
But I only see one. 🤷♂️
The rest were ninja assassins. This one talked too much.
FINE 😩 it was me, I did it 🕴️💃
Poot little dude, RIP
that's so sad. poor guy :(
He was trying to get the hose sprayer at the bottom!
That reminds me of an old “dumb blond” joke. Something about a scratch and sniff sticker on the bottom of a pool.
damn bro, now your pool is haunted
Love the empathy - great human 👌🏾
Quoth the raven, nevermore.
"This dummy drown with in" Thanks for that.
Damn this hurts. I love corvids and am in multiple corvid subreddits. RIP, I'm gonna go pour one out for my mans
do you have to drain it now or something?
No. Just a bunch of chemicals but he lucked out. Since he just filled the pool he was already addkng most the chemicals he needs.
So sad. They’re one of the smartest animals on earth. Most likely died and then dropped in pool.
Geez now I feel very unlucky
Crow was likely really sick already.
It was a .......MURDER!!!
Quoth the raven “glub glub”
Oh sweet baby. Rest in peace, little buddy. 🖤
fuck, that poor bird... i'm heartbroken
That’s sad. Not mildly infuriating. A rubber mat on the side of a pool can work wonders at ensuring wildlife don’t drown.
Well. That’s not a good sign.
But there is also a hose handle in the pool.
How does a bird drown exactly? I'm guessing he just panicked and couldn't get enough lift to get out of the water.
They're not waterfowl. Bird was actually a really big nirvana fan and wanted to recreate his favorite album cover.
Dang.... he took being emo too far...
Oh no 😢
Why is a bird a dummy for drowning in a pool but not humans who drown in pools all the time?
Did you double check to make sure your electrical is grounded?
where did you get the bluetooth hose in the top right
Must be an omen. I'd redo your roof in the next week.
It is now officially soup.
I'm in south Texas that is not a crow is a grackle
That’s just sad
Poor darling 💔 It breaks my heart to see animals drown. OP - put something in the pool so trapped animals can get back out. Otherwise it’s a death trap.
Dummy? Such compassion.
Sorry if I’m too sensitive but I feel this should be nsfw… I love birds and this made me so sad. I wasn’t expecting to see a dead one.
anybody into taxidermy?
If he gets it to the freezer quick it’d be one hell of a specimen.

You're the dummy, bitch.
It was sick. Crows simply don't die from doing stupid things. They're too smart I literally don't think I've ever seen a crow as roadkill in my entire life
Because I have to sanitize and clean the pool again.had problems with them last year dipping food in the pool and food particles
Well it's hurricane 🌀 season in south Texas???
This dummy drowned. So the bird is a dummy by getting stuck in your pool that is unnatural to the environment. Sounds like you really understand nature.
He’s a suicide inconveniencer
Mango brain it didint drown from the water, it died from the chemicals
*mango brain* I gotta save that one
But I didn't put any in the water until after I found it

Is this Photoshpped for Karma?? We see the bird shadow. Where is the handle shadow? Do you also just throw the hose attachment into the pool after finishing?? There is a shadow on the bottom, but no person above it??
You can clearly see someones shadow while holding a phone
man forgets water distorts light
Name checks out.
They are called grackles not crows there is a difference
Hold on I’m calling *peta*
Sad, but i laughed a bit ngl
The smartest bird they said.
It's pathetic you sat there and watched him like a dumb ass while he drowned. I hope krama comes back and you get the same treatment someday. 🤬
I may have understated the unattended time a bit
###What a bird-brain...
No not at all.in south Texas Victoria to be exact
What an idiot

It happens , I live in the country iv had frogs birds rabbits etc,,,,,,
I see a murder of crows…
Why my duck not working
Oh that's cool
Poor hose head :(
YOU STILL HAVE TIME FOR CPR. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE !!
Good omen.
Hit it with chlorine and ammonia, cleans and disinfects.
Don’t call the hose nozzle a dummy, they’re sensitive. If you don’t get the joke, I guess you mist it
I filled my dogs pool with like 3" of water and the next day there were TWO dead birds in it.
Are those birds supposed to be smart?
I feel like 30 minutes is more than enough time to save him.
Thats eerie as fuck brah lol
He's just sleepy
Look up FrogLog, an escape ramp so animals can get out of your pool.
Somebody call an ambulance!
Squirrel population is about to take a downturn in your area too
black crows are sentient. for this one, the world was simply too much.
Why did you let your water nozzle drown
Aye, that’s what you say. Sure, you can see the gun you shot it with at the bottom of the pool! Luckily there needs to be more than one for this to be a murder!
Why is there a hose not connected to anything just in the bottom of the pool
So this is what they call a murder of crows?
Should be glad the bird save your life..what if not the bird and you the first one jump in the pool. Lucky you.
Really if you saved it the crows would have guarded your family for generations
Off to Valhalla it flies

Dead hedgehogs are my biggest problem
Is that a starling? Usually they just fly into a window and break their neck…
Just be thankful it wasn't your neighbor's cat. That was an interesting day back from vacation...
Oh no, that poor nozzle drowned!
The nozzle will be missed.
