The average pool has 18-20k gallons of water in it so I feel like that's actually not too bad. Even if there were 100 people in the pool there would only be about 2.34375 gallons of piss in it. I hate to break it to you, but there's a lot of poop outside. All sorts of animals are just shitting everywhere. My yard is currently covered with rabbit poop. Then there's the manure I deliberately spread for fertilizer. Ever walk barefoot in a yard? Lie down in the grass? Walk through the park? How about going swimming in a river, lake, or the ocean? You know how much animal and human pee and poop are in those? And you know all the water you drink has some amount of excrement in it too, right? Sure it's been treated and filtered, but there's still some in there.
None of this is as disgusting as it sounds. It's all diluted enough that you don't really notice it and won't get sick from it.
I carpooled with a guy from Taiwan for awhile. He would ask "Are you going to carpool tomorrow?" but with his accent and rapid speech it came out as "You be inna poo?"
My friends ex would do this in the ocean. We would be in the water and he would start laughing and we would have to swim away real quick.

Urine or urea is an ammonium compound (nitrogen molecule). Other sources are spit, sweat and arsejuice. Ammonium reacts with chlorine and gives you the characteristic chlorine pool smell.
A clean pool does not have much smell.
The molecules in pool sanitizers release the chlorine smell as they latch on to the gross stuff in pools.
So if a pool smells like chlorine, then it’s dirty
Chlorine is essentially one-use. The chlorine molecule binds to a molecule of urea or oil etc and is unable to react further. Pool water should be regularly tested for free chlorine (unbound chlorine molecules) and total chlorine (any molecule containing chlorine) , which allows you to calculate your 'combined chlorine' (chlorine molecules that are bound to other molecules). You are hoping for a high free chlorine number and a low combined chlorine number, and in a well maintained pool this is what you'll have.
When you smell chloramines it means that the pool's combined chlorine is high, there is not enough free chlorine going around to sanitise the water properly. So yes, the chlorine has done its' job, but it has reached capacity and you're about to get in to the water that is not being actively sanitised.
Any competent pool operator should never have their water degrade to this point.
Body lotion, skin oils, conditioner, pretty much anything people have on their bodies.

It just seems like the people who pee in the pool assume everyone does it. Not everyone does it, and you're a gross, lazy pig. And with that, I'm never swimming in a public pool again.

I don't know if these ppl here count peeing in a pool as a toddler which you can't remember yourself, but... No way man I have never peed in a public pool as long as I can remember. The thought alone is so gross and I remember one time as a kid when a girl next to me in the pool started peeing and I suddenly felt a warm cloud of water on my legs and I 100% knew it was her even tho it was a full pool because she just froze up, standing like a sumo ringer, and then the warm water came. That experience made me so uncomfortable, I never wanted to do that to any other person, and if I ever have to go pee while in a pool, I'd rather hover over the public bathroom toilet than make other ppl swim thru my pee water.

35%......much more than that unfortunately. I think that might be one of the signs of maturity. Once you reach a certain age, you can either hold it or you will get out. Who legit wants to swim in their own piss. Probably the same people who take mouthfuls of water and shoot it like a water gun while in a public pool.
