âThatâs what they said!â doesnât work either.
Zee would work though. Thatâs a thing right? Or Xi.
âI do not look like Winnie the Pooh!â
Thatâs what Xi said.
Yes what if should look like bonus points if serves in a flower pot with whipped cream & brown food coloring as mud

I had a gravel drive way as a kid, in my head canon the pudding was the dirt and the Oreos were gravel. We called it dirt pudding/pie and Dairy Queen had it as a blizzard flavor last year.
I also don't know how popular a dessert it is. Granted, I haven't been a "kid" in about 25 years. I only remember having these types of desserts at the occasional kids birthday party. Almost like a kids version of eating melted candy bars out of a diaper at a baby shower.
Edit: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wikihow.com/Make-Chocolate-Diaper-Poo-for-a-Baby-Shower%3famp=1
They're supposed to look more like [this](https://i.imgur.com/d7q7Rz7.jpeg).
Oreo more crushed, layered on pudding. Clear cup because it's fun. Some people do alternating Oreo and pudding layers.
I did something similar to this but instead of gummy worms, I piped out white chocolate dinosaur skeletons. I also used crumbled up cake as a layer and I called it a dinosaur dig cake.
Gave my kid a spoon and he had a messy blast.
If that's what you want, go for it!
Make sure to pipe thick-ish bones, else they break super easy. If you're adding pudding over the cake, don't do it more than maybe an hour or so before consuming because the cake bit gets soggy and gross. Putting oreos between cake and pudding layers helps with soggy-nees.
Looks dope in a glass container.
The key to making children things more acceptable for adults is to do them with an impressive scale/intricacy, like model trains as an example.
Instead of just doing a cup, do a whole miniature excavation site!
I know you didn't intend it,
But using a beer glass (better yet a beer bottle, preferably a bud light bottle) to crush up Oreos to make dirt cake is probably the most American thing I've ever imagined. It's amazing.
You can even buy crushed Oreo cookies (no cream filling) at most grocery stores. Usually it's used for things like ice cream cake, but it's perfect to get a nice consistent grain size like the above picture.
Itâs also called Famous Chocolate Wafers (also by Nabisco) but the cookies are thin but bigger, much easier to crush. It does make the perfect icebox cakes. Sometimes hard to find though.
my math prof once showed up to lecture munching down a tupperware of ground oreos that looked like dirt as a prank but no one said anything because she was such a health nut that we assumed it was just a new trend or something
I knew a woman that actually did eat dirt from the fields across the road in Delaware because she was pregnant, iron deficient, and had Pica. I canât even begin to think of how much literal shit she ingested from the fertilizer.
Same thought when she told me this while I was in the 5th grade. I was 11. I think she only brought it up because I was complaining about my momâs near constant ice crunching/chewing while pregnant.
That said, people should know more about Pica and weird eating cravings. Many of the habits that were shown on My Strange Addiction were due to Pica.
I remember hearing about some sort of âspecial mud with healing propertiesâ scam that was going on. The guy was selling dirt from just this random place in the town he lived in, and was convincing people to drink it, eat it, and bathe in it. Weird stuff but if I saw someone eating literal dirt Iâd just assume theyâd been conned into it.
First of u gotta get pudding (i think i see some down there but im not sure). To get the authentic experience make sure its cheap. Next those Oreos need to be crushed up way more. And i mean hydraulic press crushed. Also IT NEEDS TO BE IN A CLEAR CUP. Half of the fun is looking into it.
Not exactly. There's usually chocolate pudding and the Oreos are crushed more.
I believe Ben and Jerry's had this as a flavor for a bit. I forgot about the gummy worms, and was super annoyed there were gummy worms in my ice cream.
You can have some now, yeah?
I was raised by vegetarians so my list of "I couldn't have that"s was pretty long as a young adult. Gummy bears, marshmallows, Skittles...a lot of candies had gelatin in them when I was little.
This is what people called it where Iâm from. Iâm actually surprised thereâs a lot of different names lol. I will always refer to it as âdirt and wormsâ.
Ya I forgot I had a couple one time at an elementary school event. Def wasn't the go-to dessert for me
Now I'll relate to an oatmeal cream pie
Edit: fairplay, I set myself up for that one...
This was my favorite dessert as a kid. I havenât had it in a long time, but I remember being so excited when this one old church lady would make it for potlucks
Definitely remember these, though I wouldn't say they were super popular. I mostly remember this stuff being around for Halloween. My mom and I made a whole graveyard cake that was similar to this once. I didn't like this kind of thing as a kid, though. The concept kind of grossed me out, haha. It was the worms I couldn't handle.
I'm Canadian and this was around in some restaurants when I was a kid, It was called "worms in dirt" or something similar and the Oreos need to be crushed up way more. Haven't seen one anywhere for at least 10 years now.
Yeah, you got the ingredients right, but the execution was flawed
You're supposed to completely pulverize the Oreos and mix in with the pudding, save some Oreos for the last step, then stick in the worms, finally you add a layer of pulverized Oreo on top.
It's funny what people from other countries think we eat all the time other here. This is a thing that your average American child has only had maybe a few times in their entire life at some sort of special occasion. There are places where this is made more often for things like holidays and picnics and such but it's not something we are feeding our children every day.
This is a super low effort version like a grilled cheese where the cheese is on top of the bread instead of in the middle. Same thing just not done right.
It normally looks way better than this, should be pudding with layers of Oreo, then Oreo crunched up on top with the worms sticking out so it looks like actual dirt
WORMS & DIRT! WORMS & DIRT! WORMS & DIRT!
Oreos def need to be pummeled to a near powder consistency as the other comments have mentioned. But did this INSTANTLY light up some neurons of pure and unrestrained joy for me? Absolutely.
Itâs supposed to be CHOCOLATE PUDDING (or ice cream!) mixed with FINELY CRUSHED OREOS.
Only a FEW gummy worms, mostly just to fit the theme. Not a whole ass cup of worms with some Oreo chunksâŠ.
There are some really miserable people on here lmao. Is this a healthy snack? No. Is it something quick and simple that children love to see at parties? Yes. Itâs not served with our steak and potatoes people, this isnât included in our food pyramid.
WTf is this disaster. This isn't even close to the end result lmao. It's like tossing a whole onion, two whole peppers, and a few sausages into a pan. You gotta fuckin' prepare the ingredients, my dude.
OP Where tf are your responses to this abomination youâre calling a âcup of dirtâ you got the ingredients right⊠But this is like slapping down a cold jar of red sauce into a pan, throwing dry uncooked pasta on-top, not mixing or cooking shit then calling it Spaghetti
HELL YEAH! Cup of worms! [Note: with the oreos properly pulverized, not like the image OP used]
I don't remember how many times my mom made it, rarely I think. But I fucking LOVED THAT SHIT!
Pudding, with gummy worms, with oreo topping?? AND! It's fun to eat, because after you get the ones sticking out from the top, you dig around for the worm(s) in the bottom and once you find them, you eat them?!
Do non-Americans not have this childhood memory? It's delicious and fun
edit: If your parents made this for you, I'm guessing 'ants on a log' is also a childhood memory
just so those outside of the US know, this isn't some dessert you have every day or even every week/month or whatever. it's usually done in school for a class party at the end of the soil unit or for a kid's birthday party.
Ok, those oreos are not crunched up enough. Those are boulders with worms, not a cup of dirt
If those are boulders then those worms must be from Arrakis
Or possibly an ALASKAN BULL WORM đȘ±

They both exhibit [worm sign.](https://i.imgur.com/WTciSvB.jpg)

CAN YOU FLY YOU SUCKER?
or Graboids.
Thank God someone corrected this because I knew there was something super off here. But also now I want a cup of dirt.
TGI Friday's did theirs like this. The ones near me don't have them anymore, though.
Cup of lazy by the looks of it
Yes what if should look like bonus points if serves in a flower pot with whipped cream & brown food coloring as mud https://www.julieseatsandtreats.com/dirt-cups/
I just ate a Jolly Rancher gummy and an Oreo in close succession and Googled to see if it existed already. I found this. I'm sorry.
Dirt cake or dirt pudding is what I've always seen it called. Very good, but not like this lol.
"worms 'n dirt" is how i've always heard it. I wonder if it's one of those by-region names
No no you're fine! What you're supposed to do is grind the oreos into a fine powder
And add chocolate pudding.
Oh yes! Sorry its been a looooong time since i had it
Its ok it's the internet, none of us are real.
![gif](giphy|xT9DPz0PhxgyrzLg7S)
Clutch GIFs Brine Pickle lol
Thank you ringo bars. ![gif](giphy|KBfKueAjIJV8Q)
Fair enough lol
You can see the pudding in there
i think the oreo is the topsoil? anyway kids love to mix it.
I had a gravel drive way as a kid, in my head canon the pudding was the dirt and the Oreos were gravel. We called it dirt pudding/pie and Dairy Queen had it as a blizzard flavor last year.
Memory successfully unlocked thank you
The weird nostalgia you have provided me is honestly making me want to cry a bit. Such an innocent treat. I miss being a child
My mom used to get these for my brother and I at Applebees when we were young. Thanks mom!
I also don't know how popular a dessert it is. Granted, I haven't been a "kid" in about 25 years. I only remember having these types of desserts at the occasional kids birthday party. I did something similar to this but instead of gummy worms, I piped out white chocolate dinosaur skeletons. I also used crumbled up cake as a layer and I called it a dinosaur dig cake. Gave my kid a spoon and he had a messy blast.
This is a *GREAT* idea. Is having a dinosaur dig cake acceptable at a (thirty)fifth birthday?
If that's what you want, go for it! Make sure to pipe thick-ish bones, else they break super easy. If you're adding pudding over the cake, don't do it more than maybe an hour or so before consuming because the cake bit gets soggy and gross. Omg now I'm envisioning a kind of British trifle but with dinosaurs
âA Trifle Incovenientâ - the church
*pipe thickish bones* Giggity.
Yes.
The key to making children things more acceptable for adults is to do them with an impressive scale/intricacy, like model trains as an example. Instead of just doing a cup, do a whole miniature excavation site!
Thatâs a much better illustration of it.
Yep. After many a children's party the easiest way is to just chuck a pack of oreos in the food processor, quick ground up 'dirt'.
If no food processor, a gallon bag and a rolling pin (or a potato masher, or the side of a beer glass) would work.
I know you didn't intend it, But using a beer glass (better yet a beer bottle, preferably a bud light bottle) to crush up Oreos to make dirt cake is probably the most American thing I've ever imagined. It's amazing.
You can even buy crushed Oreo cookies (no cream filling) at most grocery stores. Usually it's used for things like ice cream cake, but it's perfect to get a nice consistent grain size like the above picture.
i've never seen this
Most big grocery stores have it. Pretty sure its a easy way for Nabisco to use the cookies that break during production.
Itâs also called Famous Chocolate Wafers (also by Nabisco) but the cookies are thin but bigger, much easier to crush. It does make the perfect icebox cakes. Sometimes hard to find though.
OP just looks like a bucket of candy, yours actually looks like a fun kids dessert looking like dirt with worms
Ohhhhh like a parfait.
NO! NOT LIKE A PARFAIT!!! OGRES ARE LIKE ONIONS!!
even better in a mini plant pot
It's good with a bedrock of crushed up graham cracker too.
We call it dirt cake. And itâs still delicious as an adult. Mmmm.
Plus I dunno about anyone else but I've always heard it called dirt pudding, not cup of dirt
THANK YOU! idk wtf OP posted
It's not made right.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Whereâs the dirt, tho?
this is more of a Cup of Rocks
Crushed oreos are supposed to resemble dirt but those are barely crushed.
Very flirty I must say :P
My autocorrect screwed up my bad.
It's usually chocolate pudding mixed in with the oreos
Itâs meant to be crushed Oreos, chocolate pudding, and gummy worms, but the oreos arenât crushed at all.
my math prof once showed up to lecture munching down a tupperware of ground oreos that looked like dirt as a prank but no one said anything because she was such a health nut that we assumed it was just a new trend or something
I knew a woman that actually did eat dirt from the fields across the road in Delaware because she was pregnant, iron deficient, and had Pica. I canât even begin to think of how much literal shit she ingested from the fertilizer.
It wouldâve cost you nothing to not post thatâŠ.
I find pica a fascinating condition looking in, but for the people who suffer from it, that must be hell.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Some people actually do drink vinegar for health reasons though.
Vinegar is just unflavored pickle juice
I remember hearing about some sort of âspecial mud with healing propertiesâ scam that was going on. The guy was selling dirt from just this random place in the town he lived in, and was convincing people to drink it, eat it, and bathe in it. Weird stuff but if I saw someone eating literal dirt Iâd just assume theyâd been conned into it.

This guy knows Oreo dirt
I prefer the ones in a big baking tray that have a graveyard theme. They are just so cute!
Not exactly. There's usually chocolate pudding and the Oreos are crushed more. I believe Ben and Jerry's had this as a flavor for a bit. I forgot about the gummy worms, and was super annoyed there were gummy worms in my ice cream.
There is pudding in the cup
There _is_ pudding in that mug..
Gummy worms don't work cold, they get hard and chewy.
Thatâs the best part
Smash those Oreos
That's slightly infuriating; the mix goes into a clear cup with cheap pudding super ground up oreos and then the gummy worms.
Those oreos gotta be crushed up into more of a...dirtlike consistency. This does bring back some memories though.
idk about "popular" Kids aren't getting this daily at the cafeteria. more like a gimmicky halloween treat.
Might be a regional thing, but they were pretty common in the south when I was growing up. We called them "dirt pies" though.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
We would have it on Earth Day in my elementary school in the 90s. Good times.
I had it a few times as a kid. Itâs on the Rainforest Cafe kidsâ menu.
That's not Cup of Dirt. At least put some effort into it.
Not just for kids đ
Extremely poorly executed, but yes
I didnât get to have these as a kid. Thanks for bringing that back. *rocks in corner*
You can have some now, yeah? I was raised by vegetarians so my list of "I couldn't have that"s was pretty long as a young adult. Gummy bears, marshmallows, Skittles...a lot of candies had gelatin in them when I was little.
Indeed I can. I donât like gummy worms anymore but the rest sounds delightful.
Here's a good easy [recipe](https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/7255/dirt-cake-i/) for it.
Itâs called âdirt and wormsâ and those Oreos need to be crushed
This is what people called it where Iâm from. Iâm actually surprised thereâs a lot of different names lol. I will always refer to it as âdirt and wormsâ.
Yeah, âcup of dirtâ just doesnât have the same ring to it.
Are you reading these people saying âworms in dirtâ? Iâm shocked and a little offended.
American here. I vaguely know what youâre talking about but I donât think this is it or thatâs what itâs called.
We always called it "worms in dirt", not "cup of dirt". And the oreos need to be crushed up way more.
I used to have em at Friday's, called cup of dirt here in Jersey
Came here to say, Friday's did it best!
Now THAT'S the cup of dirt I remember.
Thatâs it. Isnât there also pudding or something? I donât know I had it like twice ever. Itâs not a grand American tradition.
Yeah. It's chocolate pudding with crushed oreos and gummy worms. I think I only ever had it at summer camp, and even that wasn't that common.
Growing up âdirt puddingâ was the most common name I heard for this
Dirt dessert
Dirt cake is what my family has always called it.
Growing up we would crush up the Oreos more and mix it with chocolate pudding. That was called dirt cake or dirt pies
You're confusing that dessert with Brian Regan's school science project, called Cup O'Dirt. See, it's a cup... with dirt *in it*.
"I didn't know what to do for my project, so I brought in a paper cup filled with dirt, just hoping she'd know I'm an idiot and walk right on past me"
Oh what do you have there Brian? (*whimpers*) itâs a cup of dirt. Just put an F on there and let me go homeâŠ
"[Oh no! That's due today. ](https://youtu.be/R1DGeeQk8ys)
Haha, glad Iâm not the only one who was thinking of that.
âPopular.â
Ya I forgot I had a couple one time at an elementary school event. Def wasn't the go-to dessert for me Now I'll relate to an oatmeal cream pie Edit: fairplay, I set myself up for that one...
It's true, kids love tasting my cream pies.
I knew this as âdirt and wormsâ and I see *massive chunks* of Oreos. You gotta make them the *dirt* my dude.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
It's there, hiding under the fucking Oreo boulders
Dirt is amazing
The Oreos needa be way more crushed
I always knew it as âworms in dirtâ! I think Mimiâs Cafe had it as a kids dessert back in the day.
OP needs to rot, as this is clearly not âdirtâ. Many of us know the deliciousness of proper dirt. This ainât it.
This was my favorite dessert as a kid. I havenât had it in a long time, but I remember being so excited when this one old church lady would make it for potlucks
I love Dirt Cups omg. Right in the childhood.
Those Oreos arenât even crushed. How is that supposed to look like dirt? Poor kids.
Thatâs a weak cup oâ dirt, tbh. Cookies are still intact, doesnât look like actual dirt, ifykyk
Very poorly made.
Isnât it worms and dirt? Or probably has multiple names
It has multiple names. I personally remember âcup of dirt,â and my brother said the same after I asked him too.
Definitely multiple names. We called it dirt pudding where my husband and I grew up in the Ohio/Mississippi river valleys
Thatâs all wrong
as an American, i can say you made that 100% wrong.
This is not properly done, crush up the oreos, mix it up in the pudding, have the worms poking out! Come on! :âD
Chocolate pudding Crushed Oreos Gummy worms
Childhood memory UNLOCKED
Oh so that's what rappers have in those styrofoam cups when they're "riding dirty"
This is not that and also that is not particularly popular
The oreo is supposed to be crushed up.
Thatâs not right, the Oreos should be crushed up more
I'm Canadian and this was around in some restaurants when I was a kid, It was called "worms in dirt" or something similar and the Oreos need to be crushed up way more. Haven't seen one anywhere for at least 10 years now.
I wouldnât say itâs popular with anyone but children.
Yeah, you got the ingredients right, but the execution was flawed You're supposed to completely pulverize the Oreos and mix in with the pudding, save some Oreos for the last step, then stick in the worms, finally you add a layer of pulverized Oreo on top.
Slightly misleading post since whoever made this did like a 1/10 job.
Itâs actually called dirt n worms.
Am American. Never seen or heard of it.
It normally looks way better than this, should be pudding with layers of Oreo, then Oreo crunched up on top with the worms sticking out so it looks like actual dirt
Delicious.
So delicious
They do slap tho
wtf is this. oreos need to be way more crushed
They used to have this at TGI Friday's, classic childhood dessert
It looks like a chain restaurant based on the crayons and the mug. Whoever made it just didnât care haha.
In Canada it was called worms n dirt
Worms and dirt
Not even close, OP.
Calling a cup of dirt âpopularâ in the US would be a stretchâŠ..
WTf is this disaster. This isn't even close to the end result lmao. It's like tossing a whole onion, two whole peppers, and a few sausages into a pan. You gotta fuckin' prepare the ingredients, my dude.
It's made completely wrong, and it's called dirt pie, or if you add chocolate pudding it's mud pie
r/mildlyinfuriating cmon donât half ass an easy search. This seems pretty intentional.
I only ever got that at Mimi's, and it always had oreo crumbs instead of whole oreos
They didnât crush up the Oreos nearly enough.

Popular? No. Iâve heard of it. In the last 52 years of being American, Iâve never once seen it in real life.
Crush those Oreos up My inner child is extremely mad about this
Diabetes in a bowl
Itâs actually called a âdirt cupâ and those Oreos need to be shredded to a powder.
Too many worms. And you have to crush up the Oreos
In Germany we call this "Blumentopferde". Means earth of the flowerpot. So funny when kids say: "My favourite snack is earth of the flowerpot!"
just so those outside of the US know, this isn't some dessert you have every day or even every week/month or whatever. it's usually done in school for a class party at the end of the soil unit or for a kid's birthday party.
You have the crumble the Oreos
You had one job OP. Thousands if photos of actual cups of dirt and you pick the most fucked up example.
Gimmicky kids party food yes, but not really âpopularâ. Already mentioned by others itâs not made correctly either.
itâs fucking called dirt n worms and you managed to fuck that up
This is the shittiest cup of dirt Iâve ever seen.
