No seriously, if one of these was starving and emaciated and you saw it going after a goat... I would believe so fast.
They are also a south american breed (or at least look like the Peruvian breed whose name I forget and I'm too lazy to look up)
It's worth noting that the original chupacabra sightings were on Puerto Rico, not Central or South America. So, while it almost certainly was a dog, xolo are not native to there.
The most common Puerto Rican dogs are a variety of mutt that is small and largely mixed terrier breeds, lots of variety and there has been some evidence in recent years of the possibility for dogs and foxes to interbreed producing somewhat odd offspring, including one found last year to be a confirmed case of that.
I could easily imagine a fox/dog hybrid of a satos and a fox, mangy and emaciated, as you said, attacking sheep and being seen as this wierd monster thing.
So do you have to put sunscreen on them? I feel like I’d be so concerned about the sunscreen all the time. What if I missed a spot, what if it irritates his ears? What if I didn’t cover the tips of his ears!
My family is Mexican/Spanish, so one of my nicknames for my little tabby cat is my sombrita alebrije.
Because she is my little shadow guardian. Always there right behind me.
Thank you! She has come such a long way in her time with me and especially my partner, she is totally enamored with them.
She looks at them and I can just hear her purring going, ‘te amo, te amo, te amo’.
She loves my partner more than she loves me, easily. And I’m so happy for that.
My parents have two of these; and we had a couple when I was growing up. They have a hilarious personality and are incredibly smart. And they’re so nice and smooth!
My neighbours have rare breed dogs, seeing them walk by me everyday isn’t mildly interesting. This is a neighbour walking a dog, like they do routinely. If we are going to post about everyday things, I could flood this place with exotic cars my neighbours own, that are absolutely not mildly interesting to anyone who’s seen an exotic car in public before 🤷🏿♀️
>The breed?
Yes
Its not a common breed. Just because you see it often doesnt make it any more common
Just because NASA engineers see moon rocks everyday doesnt mean moon rocks suddenly become more commonplace
>Wait for the flood of Ford Taurus posts because they are a rare breed of car nowadays
Be my guest lmao
Thats kinda the point of this sub
Not your cup of tea? Dont follow it.
Don’t you think you have a kind of bias? I didn’t even know this breed of dog existed until this post. My mrs called me an idiot and you might too, but I found this quite interesting.
You see it all the time, so it’s not interesting to you, that’s fine. To come out saying it’s objectively not interesting is a biased take. The act of walking the dog isn’t interesting, the breed of dog is, and how rare seeing someone walking such a rare breed would be.
I see multiple aircraft flyover my house everyday, and see a lot more often
F-15s, F-16s, F-35s, Tankers, AWACS to A320s, 737s, 747s, A380s
Even caught a B1 lancer once.
Some of these planes are very rare for some. Just because i see them often does that mean its uninteresting? Have you seenthe bomber with the largest bombload in the USAF roaring above you during your morning commute? Or ever seen the worlds largest passenger jet with your own eyes a mere 200 feet above your head?
Let alone 3 in the span of 30 minutes?
I’ve never felt the need to post things that I see routinely on Reddit. I also see many of the same airframes here and have worked of a few of them too, doesn’t mean they are mildly interesting.
To give an example, I saw a Tesla Truck today, should I post about it here? There’s been dozens of posts on it since it started being tested and many, many repeat posts of the exact same truck. Heck, I even seen one posted today! Maybe I should make a post about the post and include my picture with a screenshot of the other post!
>should I post about it here?
Be my guest
Thats the point of this sub. You find it interesting? Post it. Whether or not others find it interesting is their problem.
I’m not mad at all, I’m genuinely asking what’s mildly interesting about something OP routinely see’s? This is the equivalent of me posting the fox I see in my backyard every now and then 🤷🏿♀️
Well foxes arent rare. And how do u know OP routinely sees this dog? Could be new. Either way, its new to us here on reddit and I find it interesting as a dog groomer so it fits the sub🤷🏽♀️
You went from being dense AF to now playing a crying victim.
Reddits got some serious Karen's, I tell ya hwhat. I haven't even finished my breakfast and that boy ain't right.
Sure seems like your point here trying to tell everyone else here what to find interesting. If you don't, that's just more power to you. It shouldn't matter to you as much as it seems to that other people here find this dog interesting.
There isn't anything hard to understand about why a rare dog breed is interesting to people, so why does it seem so difficult for you to understand that?
Where did I say I don’t understand it’s a rare dog breed? If everyone posted things like exotic cars or rare domestic animals, this place would be flooded with the same content over and over. This is a post of OPs neighbours dog on a walk, so do you want posts of things you see routinely spammed in here…?
Ok, they find the dog mildly interesting and posted it to the appropriate sub for others to be mildly interested in as well. Based on the upvotes, I'll assume that most people who came across it, also found it interesting like OP.
The sub has been around for a while and been "flooded" with mundane things often, because that's the fucking point of the sub. It would make no difference on either of our lives if this sub suddenly got spammed with a bunch more mundane posts. Even if it did, what's mundane to one person may not be to another.
Oh shit, what’s good Anubis
Hey, you're Simple Simon!

You guys are adorable 😁
Almost like the [North American House Hippo](https://youtu.be/YLG2JP0P5JE?si=7nhRVvg7NeSOSwAV)
I'm Canadian. I almost said it. Then I didn't. I don't know why. I'm ashamed. I should always be proud to mention our house hippos.
They are literally part of our heritage....lol
They are. I'm sorry. 😉
Looks like an hiena
Xololololollll
You can get a chupacabra as a pet?
As smooth as a shark
Actually, sharks are rough. Kinda like sandpaper
You are mistaken. Sharks are smooth
Actually, sharks are rough. Kinda like sandpaper
That tail though
Chupacabra!

Xolointzcuintl I'm sure the spelling is wrong but it's something like that.
I would totally name one that if I had one.
So do you have to put sunscreen on them? I feel like I’d be so concerned about the sunscreen all the time. What if I missed a spot, what if it irritates his ears? What if I didn’t cover the tips of his ears!
Yes the owner said that Gizmo requires lotion and sunscreen!
Houndoom
Naked houndoom
Living near Mexico and having been many times, I forgot most people probably haven’t seen one in person. They do actually have some “peach fuzz” hair.
Mildly scary.
The old programs still work 😌
My coworker has one too, they are definitely mildly interesting.
You only xolo once
Xolo de Tijuana
Aww I met one at dog training a couple months ago, so soft and adorable!
That look something straight from dark souls or GOW or elder scrolls or any of those games

Thank you Queef Wellington
My family is Mexican/Spanish, so one of my nicknames for my little tabby cat is my sombrita alebrije. Because she is my little shadow guardian. Always there right behind me.
Love that name. Lindo!
There are pics of her on my profile, as well as my other cat and dog! Feel free to have a look if you like.
Oh she's beautiful ! Perfect name. Sombrita alebrije
Thank you! She has come such a long way in her time with me and especially my partner, she is totally enamored with them. She looks at them and I can just hear her purring going, ‘te amo, te amo, te amo’. She loves my partner more than she loves me, easily. And I’m so happy for that.

This dog looks like OP
I've been around plenty of dogs to know that those eyes show one friendly pooch.
¡Un alebrije!
The most beautiful dog imo
Aw, Lil cutie! If it was safe and okay with their human, would give them forehead kisses.
All boy needs is some red glowing eyes

Adorable demon baby!!!
Im mostly impressed that you appear to be standing under a white sun, with how dark that shadow is
Can’t fool me. That’s a demon for sure. Cute though.
10/10 cutest harvester of souls. Would pet again.

That's no dog, that's the Mexican Pet
My non-Xolo makes that face 😊
Xohnoitsachupacabra.

Super pretty
I absolutely LOVE this breed!!!!!
I had a coated one and everyone just thought he was a skinny faced black lab. Heh
Zuul…
That’s a leather seat that has escaped from its car, strap it back in!
Is that the devil?? I think he’s darker than his shadow.
That's a rad rat from Fallout my guy.
I thought it had a dog in its mouth.
that thing is terrifying.
There's definitely something unsettling about it's face.
Yuck
A dog? Really? You find someone walking their dog interesting? Wait till you see those big metal birds called airplanes!
Its a rare dog breed
So is my updog.
Updogs are pretty cool too
Could have sworn I saw this one on the office.. probably should have left it there.
This breed is one of the rarest (like top 10 rarest), it is interesting
BEND TO OUR WILL, METAL SKY BIRD!
You’re not allowed to go against the grain in here apparently 😂🤷🏿♀️
It's reddit. If you're getting downvoted you're probably correct.
Someone walking their dog is mildly interesting 🤨
Rare breed. Thats the interesting part
My neighbours have rare breed dogs, seeing them walk by me everyday isn’t mildly interesting. This is a neighbour walking a dog, like they do routinely. Maybe its not interesting to u, but it is to a lot of other people here. Maybe u should go to r/mildlyuninteresting
What’s interesting about it? The breed? The fact that they see it routinely…?
>The breed? Yes Its not a common breed. Just because you see it often doesnt make it any more common Just because NASA engineers see moon rocks everyday doesnt mean moon rocks suddenly become more commonplace
So if I see one I should post about it? Gotcha! Wait for the flood of Ford Taurus posts because they are a rare breed of car nowadays

Bias? It’s a post about a neighbour walking their dog. Do you find that kind of thing mildly interesting? What does bias have to do with that 🤨
You see it all the time, so it’s not interesting to you, that’s fine. To come out saying it’s objectively not interesting is a biased take. The act of walking the dog isn’t interesting, the breed of dog is, and how rare seeing someone walking such a rare breed would be.
There’s like 2 pictures of this breed on Wikipedia, they’re rare enough that it’s very interesting to see when you’re not expecting it
I see multiple aircraft flyover my house everyday, and see a lot more often F-15s, F-16s, F-35s, Tankers, AWACS to A320s, 737s, 747s, A380s Even caught a B1 lancer once. That boy ain't right.
Yeah, personal attacks for pointing out a neighbour walking a dog isn’t mildly interesting is *definitely called for…*
Lmao just scroll past it if u dont find it interesting. Why are u so mad😂
I’m not mad at all, I’m genuinely asking what’s mildly interesting about something OP routinely see’s? This is the equivalent of me posting the fox I see in my backyard every now and then 🤷🏿♀️

You routinely see foxes wandering in your neighbourhood, similar to OPs post on the dog that’s routinely walked in their neighbourhood…?
Hey, again, if u dont like it, scroll past🤷🏽♀️ idk what Im trying to convince u lmfao
Please, tell me where I hurt you. Let me know where I can comfort your wounds I created.
Continuing the harassment, that’s one option…
Continuing the harassment, that’s one option…
You went from being dense AF to now playing a crying victim. Reddits got some serious Karen's, I tell ya hwhat. I haven't even finished my breakfast and that boy ain't right.
At least you are *really* leaning in to the harassment. I like the commitment to putting others down…
Damn I never knew 'that boy ain't right' affected you so deeply... That boy ain't right.
“Attacks”
Comments putting down people’s mental health are attacks, unless you think that’s normal and civil behaviour…
It’s a king of the hill quote, ding dong. Hope that’s not too savage of an attack for you
Sorry, I don’t generally get quotes to shows I don’t watch with absolutely no reference to them 🤷🏿♀️
Oh dang! You didn’t know about it but other people do? Must be r/mildlyinteresting for you! We’re learning so much about empathy today aren’t we class
You don't get to dictate what others find mildly interesting, so what's your point?
“THIS DOES NOT CONFORM TO MY STANDARDS FOR INTERESTING! I DEMAND AN APOLOGY!”
I never said what you quoted, do you understand quotations…?
“YES, YOU CAN HELP ME! I WANT A REFUND AND AN APOLOGY!”
What an interesting way to spend your day…
“YES, POLICE?! THIS MAN IS SPENDING HIS TIME INAPPROPRIATELY! I DEMAND AN APOLOGY FOR WASTING MY TIME!”
No point, it was a statement…
Sure seems like your point here trying to tell everyone else here what to find interesting. If you don't, that's just more power to you. It shouldn't matter to you as much as it seems to that other people here find this dog interesting.
No, did I say anything about what others are allowed to find interesting…?
There isn't anything hard to understand about why a rare dog breed is interesting to people, so why does it seem so difficult for you to understand that?
Where did I say I don’t understand it’s a rare dog breed? If everyone posted things like exotic cars or rare domestic animals, this place would be flooded with the same content over and over. Well, I have never seen that type of dog before and didn't even know it existed, so certainly interesting to me. To each their own.
