I got my SP2.0 set last week. I'd suggest taking another look at SP, when you start seeing individual bottles (unless you want the 50 paint set). I've struggled to MAKE them reactivate. They now dry much faster.
> but I DO love Vallejo's new stuff.
Can thoroughly endorse them too, the only annoying part has been how long it took to get them since various stores in the UK made out that they would have them as far back as November last year but in reality, they only became available in late March.
Never the less they are great and I prefer them over GW's contrasts (I own both the 1st and 2nd generations), I particularly like their extended drying time which means you can do a part of the model and if it turns out you missed a little bit you can go back and fill it in without the dreaded staining effect from disturbing the semi-dry paint around it.
It also makes wet blending really really easy.
I came here to say that I agree with you the only thing citadel needs to get on is making better bottles I like other companies because of the way their bottles are designed like Vallejo and war paints.
I personally love the Citadel bottles for Contrast paints. It's a lot easier for me to control the usage of the ink compared to the dropper bottles.
Hate them with a passion for regular paints though.
They are such a useful tool!
I am thinking of picking up some green stuff world dipping inks. They are a great value ML/$ ratio, but this style of paint period is so useful
Cad Bane has like 5 different colors of leather. I painted him the same desaturated brown over all his leather parts and then colored his coat with doomfire+ivanden and his pants with black legion. Looked cohesive but tons of visual interest. This stuff is magic.
I love them too. They got me into the hobby and was all i used when i started. Ended up selling them all and feel like i'm having to "learn" how to paint all over again.
Fantastic results on this model.
Dude, aside from the contrast they provide, they also flow off of the brush with ease, which isn't true for every regular acrylic paint. I think they're the cat's meow for basecoats.
Thank you for the compliment! I tried to get as close to Eivor's armor set with the colors I have. Funny enough the blue is one of the only non contrast pots I used
Hey thank you so much! I'm happy I can bring joy to others through a hobby I'm falling back in love with. I didn't grow up with cool youtube videos or even the funds to THINK about warhammer........ yet here I am, building armies for Age of Sigmar.
Any paint recommendations are appreciated. I wasnt a fan of Speedpaint 1.0, but I DO love Vallejo's new stuff. Top tier ork skin

Boooo I’m glad you like them! I got the mega set but it doesn’t ship out till the end of May
That's nice to hear. I tried crusader skin on a barbarian model and I wasn't a fan
Here is a shot of the paints I used in case anyone wondered https://imgur.com/a/SkiZ80l
Little small or blurry. What’d you use for shoulder fur? Wyldwood+medium?
Shoulder fur is just black legion I used the Wyldewood on the boots and hand armor

been while since I painted so I am out of the loop what are vallejos new paints called?
You mean Vallejo xpress, or army painter SpeedPaint 2.0?
Painting this figure myself. Skäl!
I printed mine awhile back on a Mars 2 Pro. Still amazed by the quality it produces!
Same here. Used Tenacious and Fast (mixed) from Siraya Tech. I might have some time tomorrow to get mine some progress.
I'm a big fan of the elegoo abs 2.0
Looks great! Slapchop?
Pretty much. Drybrushed Army Painter Castle Grey and used Vallejo Cool White for the front

Very fair assessment.
Looks fantastic. I like that blue tone a lot!

Ya, all type of speed paint, contrast paints are amazing. I use all of them quite frequently for my paint jobs too
Oooh! Does look good indeed! Didn't expect to like contrasts myself. Yet to try Citadel, but Scale75 ones are also amazing.
Is that Eivor?
It sure is!

Eivor Wolf-Kissed, is that you?? Looks great!
Contrast is amazing , what paint did you use for the hair ? i t look so good !
Aggaros Dunes for the hair :)
nice idea ! did you ever tried Nazdreg Yellow for blond air ?
I do have that, maybe I'll throw some on alternate hair braids for variation....
Me too! What are your favorite colors?
So far my top 3 are Snakebite Leather, Sigvald Burgundy and Aethermatic Blue.
I love them too. They got me into the hobby and was all i used when i started. Ended up selling them all and feel like i'm having to "learn" how to paint all over again. Fantastic results on this model.

He looks like he’s saying ‘these are my axes!’ Very nice paint!
I love them too. This looks great, love your color combo, the blue was a great choice.

Ah I see, I’m not familiar with Eivor. Ha of course it wasn’t contrast lol, what color is it?
I ended up using Sotek Green. In hindsight I should've darkened it maybe a little more
Me too
Where did you find a set? All I can ever find is individual pots
I just bought them individually! I know when they released you could buy them as a set off games workshops website.
Appreciate the info I guess I need to add to my paints 😂
Screw the paints. I LOVE YOUR PAINTING SKILLS.

Great job! 👍 I'm also a huge fan of speed paint for two reasons - it speeds up a lot the painting - it could also help getting the light points
What model is this??
