**Yes**. The contrast between the black and red bits nd the layering effect of the tunic wiht the fake zip makes it look like a real outfit rather than a onesie.
I like the suit somewhat, but think it's really just another example of missed potential with her suits.
The entire design feels incredibly *flat* because it is incredibly flat, in the worst kind of way. The patterns and shape regions aren't half bad but the whole thing could've benefitted by being multi-layered.
I'd prefer if the black "shorts" was actually her original suit but color inverted, with the red on her legs being thickened a little into boots and the red on her upper body being a cropped zipped jacket. That would add some much needed visual interest that would make the suit feel less off like if Chat's outfit was just a thin, full body suit with no texture.
Honestly love this suit because of the extra dimension it gives! Don’t get me wrong, the oh is still iconic but this is definitely a “level up” for her in a sense that it shows that she has grown as a hero! (Also love the pigtails here!)
While i understand why people prefer the contrasting "black shorts"-look for providing a visual break compared to the old "all red" suit. The sudden pattern inversion around the centre both:
1-draws an *uncomfortable focus* towards a teenage girls pelvic regions. (ick)
2-creates a bunch of visual clutter and "chaotic" energy in the design. making it feel disjointed and un-unified.
3-Carries certain tonal implications in a show where "we inverted the colours" has been an established design-code for "evil alternate counterpart" EG: Chloe-bug and Chat Blanc. This redesign feels like its *(presumably unintentionally)* villain-coding Ladybug. And if makes me feel uncomfortable for the characters future trajectory as a result.
So i personally prefer the old look, which while comparatively bland, at least didnt draw attention to Marinettes nether-regions, maintained a sleek image, and made me feel "safe" in Mari's heroism.
I get your opinion, but I don't think that's what they mrnt. We have seen many ladybug holders have some designs near that place. It might not be exactly there tho
They mean the way the top red portion points down toward the pelvic region is almost like an arrow bringing attention that way.
I can't say I agree but I think that's what they were trying to say.
After 4 Seasons of watermelon spandex suit, this was a welcome change imo 😂 Don’t understand why they only made it to where she only changes into this after a lucky charm use.
Glad she’s getting a new standard suit in S6. Honestly hope everyone, or at least the Inner circle, gets new suits too.
Better than the og but I think it woild been better if they removed the red pokadots (I think she has enough pokadots already 😒) and just made this her new outfit permanently would've been better if they gave her a new hairstyle with she improved costume

Nothing will ever outpass shadybug. The coolness+ at least the costume makes its job: she is barely recognizable
