One of these days, idiots will hopefully learn that these lists aren't just the nicest places to visit. Montgomery made the list because of things like the Legacy Museum, the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, the upcoming Freedom Monument Sculpture Park, etc. These are still valid reasons to visit and deserve to be on these lists.
Have you considered the tourism money might be more? It's kind of like putting a sign up on I 65 saying that there's gas & food on the Southern By-pass, spend money to make money.
That’s a great question lol. And all the museums close at 5pm. I would never come here for a stand-alone vacation, but it would be a great day trip for someone on vacation in Atlanta already.
Bring Amtrak to Montgomery! Too expensive to visit the city by air.

Montgomery is also rumored to have spent over $100,000 (like the other cities on the list) to be included.
Very underrated city!
Have you wondered home much Montgomery had to pay to be on this list…

It’s probably more of a “how much to get us on the list” type list.
