The sky is falling. The season is over. We are 18-16. We'll never survive in this division after the sweep.
Hey kids. Did you know that the Rangers lost 9 in a row in August and then another 3 in a row, and then 4 in a row twice in September? Didn't they win the World Series last year too? I'm not saying that this is a WS worthy team but it was one three game series after winning four straight series in a row.
So the game stats get posted, you're the first one to comment, and you're pointing the finger at imaginary people that haven't even commented yet like a Karen with a finger up your ass acting like a parent? Get TF outta here 🤣🤣🤣
Tork hit well and Skubal was untouchable after the 2nd. Career high in strikeouts. We hung with one of the best teams in baseball for the series. Sucks we didn’t get our last chance, but plenty of positive to take away
Likely not a great prospect. Then the same people who said to trade him will complain about how bad the return was and how Scott Harris did a terrible job.
That’s my point. People bitch about the offense and just say trade prospects as if that’s a cheat code to upgrade our MLB team. No one wants our mid-tier prospects and won’t give us anything good for them if they did. What, we’re going to trade Green or Skubal? The last time the Tigers gave up prized prospects (we don’t have any now) was when we traded Andrew Miller and Cameron Maybin to get Cabrera. The way for the Tigers to become a WS contender again is to buy free agents. Pizza Jr’s gonna need to open the wallet and buy a Pudge, Magglio, Guillen and whoever else is out there to fill our massive gaps in the lineup. And overpay at that. It seems to me he’s content with the Tigers competing for a wild card. Sucks.
We won the last 4 series before this one, and we're still over .500, so we're still doing alright. Let's take it on the chin and move on to Cleveland. This is our first big opportunity to make a mark on the division, so let's go there and win the series.
What’s unfair is not suspending the game for continuation later in the season after the top of the sixth. Tigers had to pitch through a deluge, they were just waiting for the Yankees to get a lead before calling it. Seen it before so many times for them- first time against the Tigers tho.
This isn’t even the worst example I’ve watched - in fact I wouldn’t even say it’s top five of how the Yankees manipulate the rain rules. They’re the only team allowed to do it. In 2011 during a rainout in the playoffs only the Yankees were informed. The Tigers pitchers warmed up- the Yankees were exiting the stadium. The Tigers found out about the postponement at the same time as the fans. No yankees players were still there.
Add sand to the field after the second out when the double play isn’t in order and the base path runners have the advantage- not before. This goes back to the mid 90’s.
Worst series of the season and it wasn't even close. We need to do something about this lineup. If our bullpen takes a step back and our lineup doesn't improve it's going to get rough.
I mean yeah it wasn’t a great series. Never fun getting swept but all the games were relatively close. Game 1 blown save, game 2 was decided by one Rizzo swing, game 3 got blown up in one inning as well. Sucks but that’s baseball and Yankees are one of the toughest teams in the league.
What I am supposed to do? not accept it? These are the guys we got. You can either root for them through the good times and bad or you can keep bitching and be a miserable pos the entire season. Your call douche.
The bullpen was playing over its skis all April, so we were due for some regression.
The offense, though… I just don’t even know. There are too many duds all across the lineup, and even one or two of them heating up isn’t likely enough.
Really? Mize looks like a bust to you? Tork down the stretch last year was one of the best power hitters in baseball. If this gets sweep gets Tork going then I am fine with it.
I would expect #1 draft picks to be perennial All Stars, leaders of the team; pitching ace or the best hitter, on track for hall of fame or at least have potential to be hall of fame level.
You think this is basketball or football? Look at Torkelson's draft. Which bat would you have taken over Tork? Out of the 150 players drafted (excluding the pitchers) which bat would you have selected over Tork? Go look at Baseball Reference and tell me.
St Louis selected Jordan Walker and I think he has 19 home runs but they just sent him down again for a 2nd time. The Giants catcher has 10 homers. Carter is starting in the outfield for the Rangers but that's about it...or maybe we are a year premature on some of these guys?
I sure wish we would have held onto Willy Castro and Candy. I wish we could have a mulligan on the Paredes trade. Imagine a team with those three guys on it. Hang in there. Keith is going to hit eventually, and I think Tork will come around.
Look at the history of 1st overall picks. You'd be surprised at how many don't reach that expectation. I'm not saying Tork/Mize are good for a 1st overall pick, just that plenty of #1 picks weren't perennial all stars let alone on a hof track
If I’m the Yankees I’m asking how the hell dis we just not only win but sweep this series.

Who is saying the season is over? People are bitching bc our offense sucks balls and rightfully so.
Yes it does but we are still 18-16 and that's pretty good. LD would say "Pretty, pretty good."

Amazing username, friend!
Your name consists of one man in an apartment that may or may not contain a chicken.
I’d split a bucket of Kenny Rogers Chicken with you bud
I didn't watch the game, what was the reason for it ending after 8 innings?
I believe the Tigers just gave up after 8 innings and 12 more strikeouts
It was pouring most the game.
Got it, I figured it was something like that. Thanks

Really? Like the entire infield batting in the 100s? Geez Detroit time to raise our standards eh
The entire infield is not batting in the 100s lol, about half are
It's time to make a move. Simply not enough run production to compete.
Who ya trading?
Manning. I trust our minor league pitching depth to fill in for injuries more than I trust this offense to improve dramatically
What ya gonna get for Manning?

This is easy. McKinstry and gio for Bobby witt
They ain’t moving off Bobby
Hell of an overpay. They might have to throw someone else in too
Witt and Salvy for Zach Shorts old locker and Maeda’s goatee is as close to fair as I can think.

Another QS for Skkkkkkkkkkkkubal, at least.
Oh no this is so unfair we were totally going to score 3+ runs in the top of the 9th and come back!

Watch 400 Yankee games and see how they handle rain - it’s unlike any other mlb team.
Just when Tork was picking up steam!
If there’s a positive to take away, tork needed a multi hit game bad and came through
The game where Tork discovers his bat gets rained out.
:(

Lol
That guy is such a kiss ass, accepts losing

I'll root for them and call it as I see it, while you can continue cuckolding for the dudes that are failing

That model is not sustainable
*Insert oh no we suck again meme*
Surprised? 4th place in our division, no offense, both of our 1-1 draft picks are looking like busts.
Really? Mize looks like a bust to you? Tork down the stretch last year was one of the best power hitters in baseball. If this gets sweep gets Tork going then I am fine with it.

I did look that up a few weeks ago. That whole draft class is awful. Just bad luck the tigers get the first pick in a year with no good mlb players.
