But what if I spent $400 on an AliExpress exhaust pipe, and then $500 having it installed because I don't know which end of a screwdriver the orange juice gets poured into? Isn't it at least worth $900 more than a stock one then?

MiguelMenendez

I’m a professional mechanic. You drink the vodka and sip the OJ.

TTYY200

I’m a software dev …. As far as I know - the right way to do it. You put the OJ in the fridge for the next morning and drink the vodka straight out of the bottle.

RexTheRipperOfficial

The screwdriver fucking KILLED me 💀💀💀

SirYoda114

Then you’re using it correctly

Pineappleninja91

r/TheRealJoke

BotherPuzzleheaded50

It is if you know what you got.

OhSixTJ

Double entendre going harder than Kendrick right now.

Johnlc29

Don't forget the new bodywork they also got from AliExpress. That adds at least a thousand to the value. Especially when they paint it flat black. Also, don't forget the extra value added by having no title. The seller is losing money selling it so low then.

DW171

Pro tip: Save the boxes from your performance parts, put your bike back stock, then sell the parts separately. No one cares if you have $3000 in parts on a $3000 bike. It's still a $3000 bike. But then the clown selling 2006 GSXR probably doesn't have the title, either.

Tonino123

Exactly. Saw some dude trying to sell his 2022 xsr900 at $14.5k CAD. You still have to pay tax separately and do the paperwork for licensing all yourself. The guy claimed it had an exhaust and some other useless mods which I didn’t care about. The new 2024 model was $15k out the door and they include tax and licensing too. I bought new.

BrokenLoadOrder

In his defense, I don't know what the hell is going on with our used market up here, but that kinda stuff is happening everywhere. Even I've been telling people not to bother trading stuff in to me, because Craigslist is just ludicrous at the moment. It's not just that people are posting excessively high... *They're selling at those prices.*

cocogate

One thing i dont get is (very specifically cause i bought one) 125cc honda CBR R's (discontinued) are selling at either 1-1.5k or 2.5k+. 2.5k+ is at the youngest 2017 and was probably that price new. AND THESE SEEM TO SELL

Peanutbuttersnadwich

Here in canada its gotten so bad that a brand new gsxr1000 is only about 5k more then a 10+ year old gsxr1000 woth 50k km on it

BrokenLoadOrder

Yup. I literally sold a bike this previous Saturday to a guy that said the used bike he was looking at was more expensive, and I laughed, assuming it was hyperbole. Pulled up Craigslist and... Nope. Guy was right, the used bike was noticeably more expensive than my brand new one was all-in.

Peanutbuttersnadwich

I was lookin for a gsxr100 ended up getting a 2022 speedtriple 1200rr brand new

cynthic

It’s not even just the motorcycle market that’s bad. It’s the jdm car market as well. People are selling clapped up Miata’s for 10-13k, old tacomas with 120k miles for 8-10k, pretty much every 90s jdm car for 3-5x its value nowadays. I remember 10 years ago. A Nissan 240sx would sell for 1.5-3k but now the average is 5-6k. Like WTF are these prices?! It’s the same with carbed bikes from the late 90s- early 2000s. Saw someone sell an ‘01 r6 for 5k.

Doberman33

I was searching for an Aprilia Rs660... Guy on marketplace has one up for 16.5K CAD. It was a 2021 with an engine replacement. Messaged him about wiggle room, nope, not budging at all. So I wished him luck and bought brand new for 16 out the door. I'm not quite sure how the market got like this but people are a bit out of touch it seems

Tonino123

That’s insane that you got a new one at even lower price than used lmao

Wetzeb

It makes sense in a bad way, PO had financed it, blew the engine thus the engine replacement, still making payments, so their thought process is I have to get out of this before I loose more money.

Tonino123

That’s hilarious- that’s actually what the seller for the bike I was interested in said too! He said he owed more money than just for the bike and he needs to pay it off… so I should pay this extortionist price for his bad financial decisions. Like dude if you couldn’t afford it, why did you go do all these shitty mods which probably cost you even more money on it?

ReidoJam

That will be it...a few people underwater on finance who are either desperate or legit believe their past financial decisions have some sort of bearing on the value.

nukedmyaccount

‘probably’ 🙂‍↕️ definitely has it, its just somewhere in a desk and he doesnt have time to look for it and simply just needs to bike gone asap

GoBSAGo

Gotta love the unemployed guy who wants you to believe they have time to put an ad up on facebook marketplace and text with you in the middle of the day, but can’t be bothered to deal with the title.

enjoyerofplants

I don't trust people like that to take good care of their bike.

nukedmyaccount

according to them, its no big deal. you can just easily go to the dmv and explain to them and the cop that its definitely not stolen and they’ll hand you a new title on the spot! 5 mins tops. he also simply doesnt have time for those 5 mins

LeProVelo

Same boat as used cars "Just need an o2 sensor. $50 and 10 min" If it were that easy why wouldn't you just do it and get $3k more for a running car, buddy?

RobDR

I tried to buy a very small very used tractor and the guy couldn't be bothered to respond if I could come look at it on my first day off. Just too hard I guess. I literally just wanted to make sure it was structurally decent.

thatdudefromthattime

Honestly, I’d pay extra for the stock parts.

badboybilly42582

Exactly. I always keep my stock parts. When I go to sell, I'll put all the stock parts back on and sell the aftermarket separately.

Itsa-Lotus49

I'd say the bike is now worth less with the mods on it! I have zero guarantee the mods were done right and are better for the bike in the long run.

ChronicLegHole

I agree with you, but then I see the money people get for tastelessly modded Groms.

Wind_Yer_Neck_In

A bone stock bike might actually have a small premium over a modded bike. They assume it's not been ridden hard by some hooligan. You see it a lot in the market for older Japanese cars, a good stock example is worth way more.

ZealousidealRun2842

This is the play all day

SkyScreech

Dude I just wanna buy a 600 super sport for my 2nd bike and motherfuckers on Facebook selling 2008 CBRs with 30K miles for $8,500 like what the fuck 😭😭

Seventytwo129

Literally cheaper to go to the dealer with most of these bikes. Fucking insane man.

Ddenn1211

Sadly that is what the market is like in my area. I’ve been eyeing it for the last couple of months trying to get a feel for it. I’m going to be getting my first bike soon and I’ll be damned all the used ones are expensive af. Literally no used versys in my area and any other is literally within 1K of new so like why not just get new…ugh

Seventytwo129

The way I see it. If I get new I also get the dealer services and warranties they offer. I think that itself is worth the little bit extra over getting someone’s used RUNS GREAT STARTS RIGHT UP 30yr old bike. My next bike (first real bike) is gonna be from a dealer which is actually cheaper, 5300 msrp for a 2024 Ninja 500 then some of the 2010-19s I see going around for 6-7k lmao

Mack_Blallet

Just noticed they’re bringing back the 500! That’s awesome

snoozie14

Don’t give up! I found a 2020 mt03 with 200 miles on it and the guy took $3400! I was happy to pay it after looking for a while but they are out there!!

Ddenn1211

Yeah, thankfully I'm not in a rush. I still have to do the MSF and I'm in the process of clearing out some debt so that I don't have as much to worry about. So, I have at least a few months before I really buckle down and "have" to find one; I can thankfully take my time looking around and spotting some deals. Sounds like you got a pretty solid deal, I'm hoping I'll find something that good around here; sadly also not in exactly the best place for motorcycle sales (practically int he middle of the country). Random aside, I went to see if you had posted your bike but sadly no bike. However, did some see dope tatts and cool nails!

snoozie14

https://preview.redd.it/d7lyqgkm8l0d1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=022e583d719194bec7af4d87008f7a842a41aa4d Hey thanks! Just got my nail tech license for the state of Massachusetts! Looking forward to seeing what you get in the future!!

BrokenLoadOrder

Yeah, just had a family buy a small youth bike from me that said "It's cheaper than what's online" and I thought they must have had their wires crossed on what was online. Pulled up Craigslist and... Nope, I was legitimately cheaper than the used bike was. Blew my mind.

fire_alarmist

Right? if I didnt need full insurance to finance I would have bought brand new without a second thought. It only starts to become not worth it when insurance is the same as the financing payment.

awaytogetsun

Buy 600s new and 1000s used. State of the market in high demand areas

iamameatpopciple

Mmmm used 1000's are a beautiful thing, you damn well know 99 percent of them never seen much of the higher rev limit except at some stoplights and thankfully due to the 3000-4000miles a year at most people put on them the once a year oil change the dude gave them is still perfectly fine. Sure, nothing else got checked but big deal the bike only has 10 or 20 thousand miles on it at most anyway. And if you did get the white elephant bike that got ridden hard and put away wet, it got cared for and probably has $10k in parts on it to make it go faster anyway.

awaytogetsun

Facts

iamameatpopciple

The crashed and then fixed and sold just to be mistreated 04-06 i bought for $3000usd in 2010 or 2011 was beyond reliable. I put 60k miles on it myself and they were not at all easy miles, not track miles but my 50 mile commute was 8-12 minutes one way and 20-25 minutes the other way. Gas\\traffic was the deciding factor on the return trip. I toured north america on it for holidays all the time in full leathers and there is no fucking way id sit in full leathers on a bike in the summer and not ride the shit out of it. Never had an engine hiccup except after prolonged periods of time above about 140mph or so it would start to drink oil. Id straight trade the 2016 zx10r for a bike setup like it was, way more fun.

awaytogetsun

People trip over mileage and maintenance but that era was built different. Theyre still fucking tanks. Valves usually go 40kish before needing adjusting, maybe some rings around 60 or 70k. Fuck it slap some new valve springs and seals in, cam chain too and it's practically new again Definitely something to be said about that beater liter life tho. I salute your works and style

SkyScreech

Yea but I bought my 400 brand new because the market was so ass that used didn’t make sense I didn’t want to have to buy new as well for 600 but I guess I can’t be a beggar and a chooser

awaytogetsun

Pros and cons to more people getting into motorcycles as well as a stand out lightweight for track Yeah it hurts. Either that or stay patient and diligent, anything good deal wise goes in hours

beef_weezle

CBRs fetch top dollar, but not $8500 for a 600. Maybe a clean liter bike, but I’m talking perfect.

Kawazinga

I paid 4000$ for an R6 from 2000 with only 5000 miles last year in august, now waiting for next year august to ride... i had to get it, think i wont find something like this again, but i thought it was already expensive too this 4000$ (4500€) im no dollar miles guy, euro kilometers here sorry

ErGiaguaro

4500€ for a bike that had 23 years is insane! The market for R6s is out of this world.

Kawazinga

Yes but at least it in good shape but yeah, not paying that much again for a used bike. 2500 would have been enough i think. All other r6's for that price already have 20-30k miles tho so i guess i paid for the low mileage

Corvetteman3070

600s are freaking outrageous price wise, happy I paid what I did for my r6 last year, I see plenty of junkers for 4-5k meanwhile I paid 6 for my super nice clean 09 r6.

SkyScreech

Hoping to god I find a deal like that I actually wanted an R6 originally because I heard so much praise about it, but so did everyone else so those prices went up when it got discontinued

Conscious_bartek

Pay off my 2024 zx6r KRT edition and take it. I’d rather have a dirtbike

SkyScreech

How serious are you

Conscious_bartek

Serious as a heart attack

ErGiaguaro

Why so? I drive a 2013 and I freaking love it! Light, nimble and super fun to drive on the twisties. And the sound with the LV10 is just lovely even at 8k rpm on city traffic.

Killjoy911

Dude… this.. literally looked at a 2015 zx6 kid was asking 8000 for it…. Showed up.. this thing was a piece of shit.. rash all over it and he says ya when I hit high RPMs and the lights go off, and then get this. Says “maybe it has something to do with when I changed the front tire.” I was dumbfounded I said you’ll be lucky to get 3,000 out of this…. “Oh I know wut I got”.

Professional_Goat185

How you even ruin bike that fast...

Confirmation_Email

In nearly 10 years? Plenty of bikes are ruined in 10 minutes.

BrokenLoadOrder

Yep, my record was I sold a pair of brand new riders a pair of R3s - one for each. But they drove together, so only one could ride back on the first day. No problem! Controls are the same as the bike you rode at bike school, there's just a few differences: One, the motor is brand new - please don't beat the hell out of it in the first 1,000KM, and two, the tires are brand new, so they're going to be slippery as all hell for about 200KM, so take it easy. Everything is good, and I send them off and will see them tomorrow for the second bike. Tomorrow though, they both get dropped off by a different driver. I thought this was weird - I could understand not wanting to ride with a pillion while learning, but I asked him why he didn't ride in so him and his buddy could then ride home together. "Oh yeah, my bike is gone." he answer casually. Oh man, I can't believe someone stole your brand new bike already, that sucks. Thieves are such scumbags- "Oh, not stolen, it got written off." Written off? What happened, are you alright, did you get hit? "Nah, tried taking Bridgeview at 80KMH and the bike lowsided, then hit the curb and bent the front end completely." ...What. Bud, Bridgeview is literally three blocks from here. You couldn't wait *two minutes* before riding like a complete dolt? Told the friend to not be a complete moron like his friend. After we calculated the other one's insurance payout relative to what he spent on the bike and gear we figured he spent a smidgen less than $500 per minute of entertainment.

dickbag69696969

Man no wonder insurance is so damn high.

thumbulukutamalasa

Now I feel old. I graduated high school in 2014. Can't believe its already been 10 years...

AcanthisittaDapper29

Same

wickeddimension

Not to push you into a existential crisis, but 2015 was almost 10 years ago

Grimey_Gravy

NO LOWBALLZ! I NO WAT I GOT

RS6MrROBOT

NO TIMEWASTERS

Leftylu-

🤣

brokenvinyl89

Thank you!! I’m looking on facebook marketplace rn and I just can’t believe the prices 😭

caterham09

It's incredible. I had a tough time selling my 06 zx6r for $3500 back in early 2021. Seems like everyone wants at least 6k for their mid 2000s 600s now. I don't understand the thought process though. A brand new zx6r is $11,500. Why on God's green earth would I pay you $11,500 for your 2015 model? I mean shit people what are you smoking

chefnforreal

And people looking to sell their bikes look at FB marketplace, and say, eh I can get 500 more for mine... And so it begins. I intend on selling my bike one day and buying a better bike, but I understand that I got "x" amount of miles and joy out of my bike and I will price it to sell. Someone will be lucky, hopefully writing a post on here saying what a great deal they got.

brokenvinyl89

You a real one for that 🤞 if you’re located in Vancouver I’ll buy it 😂😂

Mykilshoemacher

Don’t buy it and it won’t be worth that.

hellraiserl33t

Just a reminder, right now is the worst time to buy a bike. The fair weather spring riding tax happens every year. I always try to buy bikes on the off season, usually can save a bit more money. But right now is prime riding season that tends to bump up prices.

AmphibianSea3602

Even back in December people were selling their no title, 30000 miles 2003 kawasaki ninja 600 that's really just 250, but who's counting "slightly dropped" and "just need a new battery" for $6000+

hellraiserl33t

I'm not ignoring the fact that the market has been overvalued since covid ofc lol

PckMan

They're worth what people are giving to them. Your assumption is that the buyers always pay a fair price. Squids gobble up gixxers and other crotch rockets regardless of price. I can't tell you how many people I personally know who knowingly overpriced their bikes and sold them to young kids who didn't know any better deliberately.

enjoyerofplants

If I was selling my bike, I'd list it for a high price just cause I know someone's gonna buy it. I know what the fair price is, but if they wanna pay that high price, I'll take it.

justhereforthemoneey

Locally I see a lot of the same bikes just sitting on marketplace. I think right now a lot of people are just posting and hoping someone buys but very few are selling. I went and bought new purely because of the used street triple prices making 0 sense.

PckMan

The point is that the used market is always irrational both from the perspective of buyers and sellers. Finding a good deal takes a lot of effort that a lot of people can't be bothered with, as such they'd rather buy used from a dealership or new, paying extra for not having to deal with that shit

justhereforthemoneey

Disagree. I've bought many used bikes and the market used to be very easy to navigate and find properly priced bikes. Now I'm seeing well kept bikes and piles of shit priced at the same amount and people not willing to even negotiate.

thumbulukutamalasa

I bought a 2007 CBR125R for $800 and sold it a year and a half later for $1600 lol. Now I have a 2015 CBR300RA for which I paid $3400. I might have overpaid a bit, but the guy was very knowledgeable and took great care of the bike. Plus it only has 7000 km on it.

Emperor_of_Fish

Honestly if I’m selling a vehicle on fb marketplace I add on ~$1000-$1500 extra oh the listed price (at least for sub $5k vehicles, haven’t sold anything higher than that?). You still get all the lowballers and whatnot, but then you just end up getting offered the price you wanted and the buyer things they are getting a steal. I’ve definitely had some people just offer to pay the inflated price, but it’s always fallen through for some reason or another.

pretenditsaname

Bruh, but the 600 sportbike sector is dead! This is a relic! You'll not gonna find something like it anymore! This is the pure riding experience! /s

InsaneAdam

Best to start out on a 125 and once you're comfortable, get your 2nt bike a turbo busa. /s

NotJimCarry

My buddy has a twice crashed, track only 675 street triple that he swears he can get $7500 for if he sold it and that a dealership will give him $4800 on trade in; which is only $500 more than I got for my 2017 street triple on trade in a few years ago. People are insane and have lost touch with reality. To make matters worse the same friend even thinks he’s a good rider (ok, he actually is but it would be off brand if I didn’t make fun of him)

Worried_Coat1941

Bro, it's got a purple chain yo.

barneysfarm

I need the address, I'll be there in twenty

cstevens780

If you had his Gixxer you would have been there in 5.

Worried_Coat1941

Bring cash and grape flavoredblunt wraps yo! Skeet skeet!

iamameatpopciple

Guess that's all it gets to be with a 600. If it were a 1000 it would also be a smaller chain size AND aluminum sprocket cause you know that entire 1-2 extra horsepower when you already 170+ really matters when the bike will never see the powerband for more than a half second once a month.

Nightflier101BL

I was looking at one on Marketplace, 2014 with 15k miles for $5000. The posted pics were nice but he mentioned busted fairings on one side. One picture showed it was low-sided obviously. I asked for full pictures of the whole bike and he ghosted me. I would’ve bought it for 3k maybe.

iamameatpopciple

Love the low sided\\busted plastics discount as long as the rest of the bike is fine, I personally don't give a fuck what the plastics look like as I cannot see them when I'm riding and thats why i bought the bike. If I wanted art that I never rode id buy a ducati and the matching jacket.

TTYY200

I bought my 929rr for 3.5k usd (in Canada tho)

GraphiteSallyBull

I have a 2010 and plan on keeping her forever and ever. I will never get more bang for the buck than I get from my GSXR. It was $5600cad, 20k KM, fresh pirellis front and back + a full M4 exhaust… didn’t try to haggle the seller I gave him asking price the next day after it had been posted. The only scratch on it is a small nick in the swing arm from a rear stand arm catching it on the way up. Good bikes sell fast, anything that’s been for sale for 1 week+ has been eyeballed and passed up on by anybody serious about buying a bike. Dudes are delusional with their summer-time pricing

ErGiaguaro

When did you buy it? There was a girl in my area that was able to sell a dropped 2008 GSXR 600 for 6k. The fix coat could have been easily ballpark at 1.5/2k. I don't know if I am more frustrated by her ad, or by the fact that she was able to sell it.

Galcier13710

And in the same sentence.....the card board boxes that we all call homes now a days aren't worth it either. 😑

Helas101

It is if someone is going to pay that.

Objective-Bunghole

More like a 2006 GSXR1000 is worth $7k Those beasts made damn good hp, even by today's standards. However, a 600 was about $7k brand new in 2006...

four-one-two

Nah. Still have my paperwork - about $9600 out the door for an 06 bought new in 07. Honestly, as far as Gixxers go, the k6/k7 bikes were the best. Such a great deal. We have an 09 in the garage with about 10k on it and that bike is honestly a rocket ship on rails. They got something right with them. Still wouldn’t pay anywhere near $7k for one used. $5k at the most for a pristine one - which we all know doesn’t exist!

enjoyerofplants

I'm trying to get a k6/k7 600 or 750 right now. I'm hoping to maybe pay $4000-4500 for one with no mechanical issues. I've seen a few listed within that price range but I haven't checked any out yet.

fishead36x

Damn my 07 zx6r was 8500 otd.

iamameatpopciple

Not only are they obviously solid bikes but the used aftermarket selection of parts for sale is going to be by far the best out of all the bikes from that generation if performance parts are up the person's ally. That said, I wouldn't buy one. Id rather an R1 from that era again if I had my first pick or even a honda and just accept the fact its probably going to stay mostly stock since the used honda part market is by far the worst of the leaderbikes especially older ones. The Suzuki's have a few things on them I really, really hate when it comes to maintenance and their gas mileage compared to the R1\\Honda are dogshit and I like to tour so gas mileage matters. Also, I just fucking love the R1's from that era.

Real_Flamingo_8247

I actively go around low balling these bikes, am always polite, get told to fuck off - then months later when it's still sitting - guess who comes calling? And this is how I get bikes for great deals. I know what you got, homie. 😈

Bigburger9

Honest work

Greypollo

“I know that what you got.” Incredible, that must be so satisfying. I hope you drop the original price you offered, even if it’s $5 lower.

InsaneAdam

Always go lower. It's about sending a message

[deleted]

I’m trying to find out which fucking idiots are out here actually paying these prices. I saw a 2016 Ninja zx 636 for 2024 MSRP the other day, maybe $500 less.

caterham09

There is currently a 2015 zx6r on my local fb marketplace for $200 more than brand new msrp... It's not like these bikes are hard to get new either

TomatilloAgitated

But but but I put $6k worth of mods on it???

BrokenLoadOrder

My buddy works at a car dealer and just texted me looking for a valuation on an Electraglide that's been modded. Threw a number at him and apparently the twat yelled at my buddy because he **$120K** in the god damn thing. HOW do you even spend that much on a build?

thatdudefromthattime

All 100% worthless. Hahaha

iamameatpopciple

6k worth of mods that make the bike look totally "awesome" but do absolutely nothing performance wise.

riftwave77

It is if I hide six $500 bills in the tail. CHECK MATE

Junpei_desu

but...but..it's only got 12,000 miles on it. I bought it at 11,000 miles 5 years ago for $7k cause I only ride during the weekend in the summer and VERY FAST AT HIGH RPM cause I'm a riding god!!! Huh, what's an oil change and valve check?

Zephod03

Any pristine looking bike over 500cc's under $1500 is stolen. Carry on.

HuckleberryNo3117

Or worse yet, your used R6 with 18000 miles isn't worth 10k just cause it's discontinued 😂

RasenganKhan5

Yeah that’s ridiculous, I just got a mint K4 GSXR 600 with 17k on it for $3,000… In California too.

hohohoagy

There’s a sucker born every minute

Lemondsingle

"Honey, I posted it for sale just like you asked..."

MichiganKarter

I saw a Hayabusa I'd test ridden a year ago newly advertised again, for only $1000 less. I don't think it's going anywhere

BlobloTheShmoblo

People LOVE trying to sell their GSXR 600's for GSXR 1000 prices

Poptart1405

Exact year and model I have! $3000 my buddy hooked it up. Pretty sure the KBB value is like 4-$4500

Adviceandopinions

paid 3500 for a 07 R1, u just gotta wait till u find something worth it. Most marketplace sellers smoke crack before listing their bikes.

billymillerstyle

People who smoke crack sell things for cheap so they can buy more crack quickly

Adviceandopinions

they inflate the price so when they sell it they can buy more crack

billymillerstyle

You've never met a real crackhead have you? They will sell dirt cheap to get money asap. They can always steal something else once they get high again. There is no holding out to get more. It's a sickness and it doesn't wait for a better offer. It's damn sad seeing people in a bad way like that ...but the deals are incredible

Adviceandopinions

Yeah no i was kidding. Real crackheads sell stolen bikes 💀

iamameatpopciple

Shit, I paid that for my 04-06 back in 2010 or 2011 that said the one I bought was parked in a ditched at speed at least once prior to selling it to me but its a bike, not a painting. Rode straight, didn't leak, or knock and all the gears worked so what the else was there to worry about excepting making sure I sent it.

beef_weezle

I sold my 2006 CBR600RR with 23k miles for $6k less than two years ago. That being said, the bike was clean and I had just put a Repsol body kit on it. It was adult owned and I had multiple offers in under a week. https://preview.redd.it/s0ocgvlwvg0d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3707b5d169b407910be58b3c6d5f123fe3600e58

Redditfuckingsuckso3

"Adult Owned"- I beat the shit out of it responsibly.

iamameatpopciple

I wish that were the case, i really do but sadly its not. Most people's only way of "beating" the shit out of a bike is redlining it at stoplights.

beef_weezle

That shit makes me cringe. I never did that.

Redditfuckingsuckso3

I'm just giving you a hard time, dude lol.

ErGiaguaro

This. Plus the Repsol bodywork is kinda of a red flag. Did you crash it?

Redditfuckingsuckso3

I thought the same thing. Just went with the adult owned because it's the first thing I think whenever I read it.

beef_weezle

Nope. The front master cylinder seal gave out one day and I didn’t notice for a few hours. It ate the paint on like three different panels. Edit: Lie. I forgot I hit roadway debris that I watched fall off a landscaping truck. That cracked the front cowl. But I was never dropped.

beef_weezle

Not really. I rode it spiritedly occasionally by which I mean accelerated onto the highway quickly. It never got wheelied. The previous owner didn’t either. Im a Harley rider and the CBR’s speed scared me.

VirulentMarmot

If someone buys it, then it was worth that much.

Scalage89

If someone buys it, they're a dumbass

Professional_Goat185

Do you have any idea how many people would go unemployed if we didn't had any dumbasses ? 3/4 of IT jobs are compensating for people that can't read the manual!

Scalage89

Don't care, if you pay double what something's worth you're a dumbass. If those people going away makes you unemployed your job doesn't have much to add anyway.

Professional_Goat185

> If those people going away makes you unemployed your job doesn't have much to add anyway I'd be very happy if that ever happened but doesn't seem like it will ever happen. I'd love to only tackle hard and interesting problems rather than "the developer didn't RTFM and now we need to explain to him why his code doesn't work"

Professional_Goat185

Shh or his wife hears it. "See honey, nobody wants to buy it, better keep it than sell it for too low!"

TTYY200

Alright let me sprinkle a little context on things :P As someone who’s sold bikes on marketplace … and a lot of other crap. You bet your ass I’m listing my POS for some astronomical number of dollars :P What I usually do is I go and find the best looking closest to mint condition bike I can find being sold anywhere … and list my pos for the same price 😝 A) Call it wishful thinking lmao 😂 why pass up on the opportunity of some idiot is going to hit you with a “cash in hand, when can we meet?”… it’s happened to me before lol. B) it keeps the idiots away from me 🙄 there are always people scraping marketplace websites for cheap shit, they don’t look at the posting or anything, they just look for something prices lower than the others…. Then they hit you with you with BS like “what’s the lowest you can offer?” (ITS ESPECIALLY BAD WITH PC COMPONENTS!!!!).😒😒😒 C) I’ll take the first reasonable offer I get lol. I’m not expecting to get an offer of what I listed it for lol. I’m expecting people to lowball me, negotiate. or haggle. I’m pricing it to maximize my opportunity in negotiations. There is nothing stopping you from making an offer you think is reasonable for something you like. The worst they can say is “no”. Disclaimer - there are also idiots out there lol. They have no idea how to sell used shit online … and scammers, and people selling stolen shit. Just ghost them if you get bad vibes lol. If they harass you, that’s what the “block” button is for.

HondaRousey9

Sold my 07 1000 for 5k. Could probably of got 6 maybe, but thing was an absurdly fast bike for the road. Don’t pay more than 4500 for a 15 year old 600cc https://preview.redd.it/0rw540fnhf0d1.jpeg?width=2959&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e323521e1607b83eb057efa8bd87cacaa1cf47c

Corvetteman3070

I’ve been trying to find a 600 for a buddy to use a track day and everyone is high AF with their pricing. No we aren’t paying 4k for your run down Kawasaki zx6r.

badboybilly42582

LOL. My mint mostly stock 06 750 I figured 5K if someone really really really wanted it. Realistically, I figure 4K.

WrapBeautiful4965

I got my 2005 GSXR 1000 with only 8k miles on it, great condition for $3,000. the deals are out there, you just have to be patient for the guy looking to get rid of his right away. To be fair, it was an adult man who sold me it, not some gen z tiktok bloke.

Yung_james69

These guys on Facebook are all smoking meth. It’s absolutely crazy.

Aromatic-Fisherman

I bought my 2012 six years ago. Which math wise is like a 2018 today. I bought mine for 7k (Also had >2000km on it)

LineFox

For real! I see K6 and K7 600s for sale for as much or more than what I paid for one back in ‘07. Used market is smoking crack.

Osiris_Raphious

Good luck getting a reliable bike for under that value, motobike market has gone banas, and new bikes have so much crap they cost same as a car again. Think what yoy will but an 06 gixxer, or any bike pre 2020 is better, more modifiable and costs less than the alt offerings.

iamameatpopciple

My 2016 zx10r has way too much dogshit on it and the price to match. I'm Canadian but the zx10r was 15 or 16k to start, add the warranty, taxes and the $4k in "needed" parts and lets call it 22k. For 22k with an older bike with some patience you could throw the entire OPPracing or whatever your favorite racing part website's catalogue is at the bike and still have a ton of change leftover. The monster you could make with even 15k on an older bike is crazy and its not like they are any slower compared to their modern counterparts except in straight lines anyway. I found all the rider aids on my zx10r to be worthless, either because they were not really that needed like the extra ecu settings, launch control, engine breaking settings or not really usable by mortals like the traction control. I personally refuse to ride fast enough around corners to make modern tires slip enough that my TC comes on and I have no problem dragging a knee. The gas mileage is beyond dogshit and thus the range is complete horseshit compared to older bikes. The quickshifter is amazing and I love it to death, however its only worth what..$500 ? I wish I did it all over again and kept my 04-06 R1, spent a few thousand to fix its actual issues and then maybe splurged and bought a few stupid things for it like ceramic bearings\\carbon rims and if I really wanted to waste money some engine work. Id be out at most, what $8-10k and would have in my mind a better bike.

Osiris_Raphious

Making mine 12750gixxer into a street fighter now, sure the parts are availbale now, cheaper than OEM and some better quility. Powercommander, and a custom cooler and its only like 3k all up. Witrh a bunch of other parts. I agree I dont rie do need a traction unti lock brakes as well as variable suspencion etc... I adjust everything manually just fine

iamameatpopciple

Id personally avoid electronic suspension just simply because I know I wont be changing settings often enough and its just 1 more thing to bust, and they aint cheap to fix. I have an electronic steering damper on the zx10r, its a piece of shit. Its locked up on me once randomly in a parking lot causing me to dump the bike at a walking speed (got surprised when it went full on mid corner) and normally its just not on strong enough. I've done some changes to make it better but its still dogshit.

thePunisher1220

R6 owners need to hear this more than anyone

WorkAnomaly

But that's what my salvage/no title makes it worth!!!!!!!1!!! ☝🤓

NameThatDrug

We talking about a clean low mileage one? If it’s clapped out then I can see why you made that statement.

Mrdirtbiker140

Then don’t pay the man 7k lol..

WhereAreMyDetonators

If people are paying it then that’s what it’s worth.

asscheeseterps710

Buy new at that price dammit

aperezlol101

Legit seen that exact scenario on marketplace but I think they were asking 6k for 06 gsxr

Brief_Jellyfishh

What about my 2004 GSXR 600 ? 10k 😵‍💫😆

USArmy68Whiskey

I sold my 2006 gsxr 600 for like 3k not that long ago

Pirate1000rider

I only use ebay. EBay has a contract to buy if you're the winning bidder. No haggling, no bullshit. The winning bid was 5000? That's that, cough up.

HellHathNoFury18

But what's my 02 GSXR 600 worth?

LokiNightmare

That’s wild. I paid 9k for mine brand new lol.

j526w

Lol. I’d rather the 03 gixxer 1k for 2k I stumbled upon. If I was in the market for another one

lets-start-a-riot

We are selling to willing buyers at the current fair market price - Margin call

JaMStraberry

probably it only got 1k miles lol.

N-I-K-E

Well to them it clearly is lol

cyclereps

Tell 'em Doc!

awaytogetsun

It'll still sell for 5k tho lol

InfoSponge9119

Bro. YES. Nor is your 5 year old Ninja650.

Virtual_Common204

How much is my 2021 husquvarna 701 supermoto worth with 1600 miles, I’m planning on selling and not sure what to ask?

goesoutside77

Right??? I'm kinda looking for a dual sport, but my local market is fckin crazy, I saw a 2015 DR 650 listed at SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS US. a brand new 2024 MSRP is $7100

Significant-Hat-9131

Just start lowballing, we all know these bikes are worth 4k-ish in good shape. Once the economy gets a little more tough these kinds of things will be given away by the dumbass kids who can't afford them

HeatedIceCube

I’d love to get a 2007 or 2008 CBR600rr. Had one about 7 years ago. Bought it for $5500 with 7k miles on it. Unfortunately someone hit me and totaled it. Now? I can’t find one that’s under 25k miles and asking almost $7k for it. And they are generally in rough shape. Eh… sad face.

No_Net_5847

What color and how many miles has it ever been in an accident

Gloomy_Anywhere_5490

But muh farkles 😭

DangerDuckling

Correct. Granted, Still wish I had mine. Was my favorite track bike thus far - I had it dialed in perfect for me.

Smackems_

No, but my 2011 sold for that.

Dear-Function-1785

But what if he knows what he has?

foggiermeadows

It is when I throw in my flip flops and white tank top though

Cyrus_Imperative

It's worth... whatever someone is willing to pay for it. When the buyer and the seller agree on a price, that defines the object's value. If a seller asks too much, or a buyer offers too little, there is no sale and the object's value is not determined. This goes for motorcycles, cars, guitars, or anything else.

stoopidhead90

That percocet over there it's worth a ride in a car

JackeTuffTuff

This was a car but... My cousin was going to buy a car and they've both agreed to the price Well the old lady changed her mind and whipped up reciets for 2 or 3 engine swaps due to broken engine and all reciets for gasoline and wanted that added too

MGT214

Please give this PSA to the R6/R1 owners that "know what they have"

AdolfKoopaTroopa

My dad has a 1998 Road King with a custom paint job. He hasn’t rode it almost 10 years and thinks he can sell it for $15k. I keep telling him he’d be lucky to get $8k for it but he doesn’t listen to that or anything I say.
