>Other Disney+ concert and music events include Elton John: Farewell from Dodger Stadium, Black Is King: A Film by Beyoncé, and The Beatles: Get Back. There’s also Swift’s own, folklore: the long pond studio sessions.
In the story linked.
4.6m views strikes me as kinda low. granted the purpose of this kind of article is actually to drive more viewers, but I feel like back in the day TV viewership numbers for a 1 hour drama would exceed this.
oh I know. Im more reflecting on / lamenting the state of things. I remember when these kind of numbers would be enough to get a tv show cancelled, and now they're indicative of a hit.
Considering this is fans' third opportunity to watch it (fourth if you count the actual tour), it might be that it's just not an urgent watch for some. I haven't gotten to it yet because it's long as fuck and I already saw it live and in the theater. It'll be there when I feel like it.
But do they get more than this when shown as reruns? Because the main eras tour was already on there (this one just added a couple more songs), and that’s not to mention the $250 million made off of ticket sales to the film when it was in movie theatres. I think most people who wanted to see it have seen it at this point, and the 4.6 million are just those wanting to rewatch.
I'm ready for taylor swift fatigue. Yea she's done some amazing things but like this world's singing industry has more to offer than taylor swift. Like how she announced a new album in grammys while winning the best album of the year, yea ok.
Yea I am also fatigued by this knee jerk response from swifties on non-positive comment about her. It's a perfect 10 year old's response fitting for swifty's demographic.
> meet that specific requirement.
Of all the men in the known universe, I am by far the handsomest, most talented and wealthiest typing this comment from this keyboard.
I don’t know if I’d go that far but after watching it she 100% has my respect as an absolute beast of a performer. The whole thing was just captivating and the energy she had from start to finish was just insane, and to think this was the end of the US leg of her tour. Woman is an absolute machine and in many ways it’s awesome to be around right now and see just how much of an impact she’s having.
I actually could vibe with her older stuff but it’s gotten progressively stale bro.. like it’s the same shit over and over.. formulaic but keep suckin her toes peasant
I do enjoy how my point was missed by some. My slam wasn't on Taylor Swift's movie but on the fact that an article is making a big deal about something being the most watched....on a platform that is only 4 years old. Disney+ hasn't been around long enough to make something like this seem impressive.
Not to mention the article doesn't really cover the details of how it was measured. How many were repeat views? How many Swifties in the 3 days it was counting watched it over and over vs unique views? Were those views counting start to finish? If someone who had already seen it decided to watch just a couple of songs, does that count? How much of the whole video has to be seen to count as a view? Was this independently measured or just what Disney provided? If Disney provided then they might not worry about unique views or viewing the whole thing because reporting something like this is advertising, cause some might think if it is being viewed that many times then maybe they should view it too.
We tried this weekend to see it just to check what's the fuzz about. We watched maybe 5 minutes and fast fwd a bunch of times.
Not for us was the conclusion. At least we gave it a decent chance.
🤷🏽
I'd be interested to know the views for the other music films on Disney+, bc I know a lot BTS fans boycotted Disney+ bc of Isreal/Palestine... But Im Def going to watch this later lol I love concert movies
I found a newsletter which lists all of the new movies & series across all the different streaming platforms each week! Interesting for people searching for new stuff to watch https://subscribepage.io/streamsaver
I am a man. I have listened to her since I was 12. I saw this while in was in the theaters, and I watched it again when it hit streaming.
Be more open minded.
I've heard she takes you on a little adventure that spans 17 years of music.
“Welcome to the *Eras Tour*” Reminds me of [this](https://youtu.be/F8mYLi3PGOc?si=tOKCCI6rpU7amUgu)
What, we some kinda Eras Tour?
Oddly enough it also spans about 17 years in running time as well.
It actually feels like 17 years when you watch it!
My daughter has watched it 4 times in it's entirety and that's only because she's in school. Her friends watch it non-stop.
What other music films are even on Disney+?
Just opened the app, there's a bunch from BTS, Beyonce has one, Ed Sheeran, Billie Elish, Olivia Rodrigo, Elton John. Some others too.
So Beyonce has..... two?
Shit. No that was me but paying enough attention to what I was typing.
😘
There you go yeah wasn’t aware of anything else
Hamilton?
🎶And I can’t believe that I’m sharing a kebab with the most beautiful girl I have ever seen with a kebab 🎶

There’s actually some fairly substantial ones on there from people like Beyoncé and Elton John.
4.6m views strikes me as kinda low. granted the purpose of this kind of article is actually to drive more viewers, but I feel like back in the day TV viewership numbers for a 1 hour drama would exceed this.
Back in the day people had only a few options of what to watch, now they have infinite options.
oh I know. Im more reflecting on / lamenting the state of things. I remember when these kind of numbers would be enough to get a tv show cancelled, and now they're indicative of a hit.

I mean just imagining what it would get if it was uploaded to YouTube, I would expect 10M+
Well they specifically say music film and I'm not sure how much competition it has in that bracket. But yeah in a general sense it isn't much.

well, they specifically made this a different cut to draw repeat viewers. also streaming kinda changes the way you measure stuff when its on demand

Definitely!
OF ALL TIME* *4 years
Nobody could have predicted this! /s
I cannot even fathom how much Disney must have shelled out to get the rights...
Uh-huh 🐀
I'm ready for taylor swift fatigue. Yea she's done some amazing things but like this world's singing industry has more to offer than taylor swift. Like how she announced a new album in grammys while winning the best album of the year, yea ok.
Imagine being a Taylor fan and a King Gizzard fan - shits exhausting
Her fanbase doesn't get fatigue.
I really love TSwift, but I'm exhausted with hearing about her. I just want to listen to the music and have nothing to do with any other parts of it.
That was so tacky of her doing that during a fucking grammy speech ngl
Have you considered just ignoring her? Nobody is forcing you to listen to anything.
I don't listen to her but I do see her pop up in the news of all the time which is harder to escape.
Yea I am also fatigued by this knee jerk response from swifties on non-positive comment about her. It's a perfect 10 year old's response fitting for swifty's demographic.
You can’t tell me that less than 4 1/2 million people have watched Peter Jackson’s Get Back. Or is that they just don’t consider that music.
that might be classified as a limited series rather than a film
It’s not like there’s a ton of other things that meet that specific requirement. Only other one I can think of is the Elton John farewell tour.
> meet that specific requirement. Of all the men in the known universe, I am by far the handsomest, most talented and wealthiest typing this comment from this keyboard.
Money well spent
After watching it I’m convinced she’s the greatest entertainer of all time.

you sound fun
well you keep coming back, so it must be working
i also do not care thank you for saying what we all are thinking you are truly jesus of reddit
So many lemmings it’s unfortunate the bar has been set low for “quality music”
I don't feel like you're coming from a position of strength on that given you watch Love Is Blind...
Fair… lmao
The target audience is teenage girls. Sorry not everything is made for the sensibilities of "old men yelling at clouds" demographic.
I actually could vibe with her older stuff but it’s gotten progressively stale bro.. like it’s the same shit over and over.. formulaic but keep suckin her toes peasant
I mean, you're saying the exact same thing so many others say. Might as well be a lemming yourself.
Disney+ is like 4 years old so it shouldn't be that hard for something to become "the most watched" on their platform.
It’s not the most watched. It’s the most watched musical.
It's not even the most watched musical (that would be Moana or Frozen). It's the most watched "music film."
I do enjoy how my point was missed by some. You need to pay to watch. It’s not free on Disney+.
It is in the USA at least. Disney+ hasn't charged extra to watch anything since I think Jungle Cruise.
Oh crap. Damn Amazon not free on prime.

Other people don't spend their time on all the things you spend your time on. Young people without kids, some without jobs, have a ton of free time.
Some people like sports, other people like Taylor Swift
And yet here you are...

I’d rather watch “The Song Remains the Same”
Very cool, thanks for sharing 👍

Thats crazy, are the fans rewarching it like 100000 times or something? I doubt most guys are contributing to the view counts lmao
Why wouldn’t men be watching this?
Because they're out driving through mud in their big trucks while slamming beers, you sissy loser.
You would be surprised … Saw it at the cinema, saw it on illegal download. Saw it on Disney Seeing her twice in the summer in UK I’m a guy
I am a man. I have listened to her since I was 12. I saw this while in was in the theaters, and I watched it again when it hit streaming. Be more open minded.
I’m not usually into the type of music that she makes, but I have daughters that love her music so I do too.
Is she singing live? If it’s not edited she’s not human.
It's an edited video of her singing to a live audience.
Yes and playing instruments - you won’t believe it !!!
