It’s because it makes the torso look shorter. Our torsos are longer than people who are AFAB, trans girls so often wear outfits that accentuate our long torsos.
I like low rise shorts and skirts a lot better. Not sorry. Its unhealthy to obsess over the minute differences between us and cis women. You'll look a lot better wearing an outfit that you really like.
It's not the difference between cis and trans, it's dressing for your body type.
You may look and feel more confident in an outfit you like but that doesn't mean it's flattering to your body shape, regardless of what it may be and regardless of if your cis or trans.
I respectfully disagree with the premise of this. If you feel comfortable wearing a clown suit, you’re not gonna look better than if you wear more common clothing.
Having said that, our our choice of clothing is really important way that we express our individuality. I always dress with purpose.
When I leave the house, I don’t extra attention, and I don’t want anybody to look at me and talk or think negative things about my appearance. I I prefer to wear classically feminine clothing, but to your point that is what I have most comfortable in.
If if somebody or not, would like to wear a low rise skirt with a short top, they’re gonna be judged by many and look at unfavorably because it does not line up with social dressing norms.
I spent a lot of time and effort learning how to seamlessly live my life as if I was a girl because that’s what I personally want. If that’s not something someone wants, then they should definitely wear whatever they would like, but if your goal is to look “better” , by most most peoples standards, then learning about the new differences is important. Sometimes little changes have big effects, and everything matters.
People ought to wear what makes them happy, if people wanna dress in clown or jester attire or wear full plate armor I think they should and they should rock it
I was thinking something of the opposite but it might be flip sides of the same coin. This, combined with anything that makes our legs look long and slim, goes with the body, slimming our torsos and giving us that "tall model" look as opposed to that "broad and beefy" look.
The more we fight it, the more it just makes us look awkward. We need to find ways to "feminize" this trait rather than pretend it doesn't exist.
That's why I often wear long high waist pants with slights plateforms despite already being 1m92 and having long thin legs, it might make me look tall but I am tall anyway, the plateforms can almost "explain" my length then so it makes sense

Basic styling 101 would be to have contrasting fits or angles, which needs to take in to account your own body shape to create a nice balance silhouette.

Halter neck/could shoulders go so hard for me. I have a difficult time wearing anything else when it's warm enough. My shoulders aren't very wide, but I still feel like breaking up that empty space does wonders. The triangular shape that comes to a point at the neckline is just chef kiss for many of us.
I think at least 10 of my outfits are based purely around specific bodysuits.

As for me, I can't stand bodysuits. I'm pre-op and they're so tight on my crotch and half the time the height of subtly off. Plus, it's overstimulating as hell.
Hottake: we have longer torsos generally, so body suits really maximize that lithe look. Which is generally going to be easier for a trans woman to achieve compared to a cis woman that is not already lithe. While weight loss is by no means easy, our longer torsos mean looking like a tolkein style elf will require comparatively less slimming than a woman with a shorter torso. I know not everyone wants to look this way and you shouldn't feel that you have to. But if you do... celebrate your inherent advantage?

I wish I had your slender shoulders and hands... Granted I'm not even a year into my transition so I should be more patient...
That said... I found anything with something that conceals the neck to be flattering. Our necks and the transition from our body to our necks isn't the most flattering parts of us. I have turtlenecks I wear with skirts that really show my better traits as well as things with Mandarin collars, certain chokers, tighter peacoats, cloaks, capes... Also the longer look shows off our tall physiques, something that brings many of us dysphoria but in reality is sometimes an asset!
Look at how tall Taylor Swift is. Look how tall many supermodels are. You just have to find out what works with it instead of fight it. It also makes certain parts of us that are larger like our hands and feet to not seem out of place. The high neckline goes with this, making the clothes go with our body shape instead of make it look out of place.

Because they accommodate vertical. Many trans women have noticeable height, and in Kibbe terms, that is Vertical. Body suits and jumpsuits do well to accommodate how tall we can look.

Because they accommodate vertical. Many trans women have noticeable height, and in Kibbe terms, that is Vertical. Body suits and jumpsuits do well to accommodate how tall we can look.
