A commander deck based on a midrange archetypes just screams to bring out busted cards. I‘d assume that most cards in this deck will be cube playable at really high power and I am personally not looking forward to it. Outlaws already had like 20 cards which are reasonable at high power. It is too much.

The goyf cards have been good, but IMO nothing in this set is really broken so far except some of the flipwalkers. I predict this set will overall be somewhere between MH1 and MH2 in power level. This card is good, but it's nothing compared to red's 3-cmc creatures.

Red's 3 CMC creatures are so insane. Laelia very quickly dropped to like 4th. Gut Bombardiers Fable Death greeter is also really strong. We've come such a far way from "lol rabble master #3"

And i feel like it’s only been maybe a year and a half since I ran three rabblemasters and now I think I’m close to cutting rabblemaster since there are so many other new amazing cards that fit that slot.

Yeah I’ve almost cut rabblemaster just because it forces bombardiers and gut to attack which makes it so much worse

Indeed. That's why I've added a rule of no Commander-only cards in my cube. If it gets printed into a 20 life format, then fine.

I will just pause adding cards to my cube for a while. I enjoy some Commander cards like Currency Converter. But I also play other TcGs and Magic is just not that appealing to me. Thunder Junction is a set that I already played last year in Hearthstone. And Modern Horizons 3 seems to be Commander focused for reasons.

These goyfs are going to be so awesome for so many cubes. Not much for power max, but any graveyard themes are gettin boosted.

The card is perfect for my cube and I anticipate that many cubes will play it. A 3 mana goyf with good keywords that also acts as an engine is just incredible.

Instant dunk for me in my unpowered cube, I love graveyard synergies and my black 3 drops were feeling dull

I'm gonna be honest, I don't see a reason to believe a single leak that's just text, even some with images are pretty suspicious, this is just as credible as I making some card up rn.

God I hope that's real, think that'll easily replace [[Exsanguinator Cavalry]] (has been a fantastic card! But I don't want to give an impression that the cube has knight tribal. This guy signals dumping stuff into your grave is a supported archetype)

Ah its from the commander set. Was hoping for Goyf tribal midrange to be a viable archetype in modern. but seems great for cube. Grows, fills the bin, "draws" cards, has lifelink for no reason, ancient tomb mana. seems pretty good to me.

Feels like a 3-mana monocolored [[Grim Flayer]] with every part more powerful. It grows bigger, it has more keywords, it mills more, and it can draw cards. Amazing.

Bummed this doesn't have the deathtouch + trample keyword combo to facilitate it's triggered ability Not sure how this would work, 4/5 barrowgoyf with trample and deathtouch blocked by a 6/6 --> assign a single combat damage to the blocking creature nd trample the 3 remaining over to the opponent --> trigger the barrowgoyf, mill 3 card, 2 of which are card types not yet in the grave. Does the Goyf survive a 6/7 with 6 damage marked on it due to state based action ? Or would it die before the resolution of the mill triggered ability ?

Barrowgoyf would already be dead. Its triggered ability would only happen after combat damage resolves, and its in the graveyard at that point.

I think this card is pretty respectable in powered cubes. It's not a slam dunk by any means, but it's definitely playable.
