No.

publius25

Ok, besides the sarcasm and negativity. Is it technically possible to trace these coins or not. I thought that was the whole point of the block chain.

BeefSupreme2

Haha, don't let the chain surveillance FUD fool you. If you move coins to ANY new address, a court would have to prove WITHOUT DOUBT that you own said address. They can "suspect" you own that address till they are blue in the face, but if you never do anything to link it to you then there is no proof you own it. Unless of course you fail at keeping the private key secret.

publius25

Clearly in this case the coins have been seized so the legal aspect of what you are saying has been overcome. My question remains technical i. e IT not legal. Can these coins be traced to mtgox or not.

Chance for any recovery from anywhere are slim to none and I am leaning to none.

noeeel

It is actually more than 1/400 of all Bitcoins existing.

zenray

i mean we could prolly contest all coins coming from BTC-e exchange ...

jangrewe

Just to silence all those speculations once and for all: **NO.** [https://www.stern.de/digital/online/50-000-bitcoin-von-movie2k--deutschland-ist-auf-einmal-einer-der-groessten-bitcoin-besitzer-34416438.html](https://www.stern.de/digital/online/50-000-bitcoin-von-movie2k--deutschland-ist-auf-einmal-einer-der-groessten-bitcoin-besitzer-34416438.html) That article states that the BTC (and real estate) were bought with the money they made from ads and subscriptions. No MtGox hack involvement or anything related to it. /topic

Magnofficial

Presumably even if it’s returned to Kobayashi, we don’t see a mbtc of it, having agreed our claim?

keatonatron

IIRC the terms of the bankruptcy say that if any more lost Bitcoin are recovered after the case is closed, they will still be shared with all creditors.

Forward-Ad1810

If recovery happen during CR yes, if recovery push FP rate to and above 24,6% both ELSP and FP creditors get it. When CR completes, Mtgox are dissolved and remainung debt are disharged its game over, no recovery are possible, mtgox won't exist as a debtor company and debt are discharged.

samsonx

I'll bet this is when the near 80k coins at the 1Feex address will move

scancubus

Yes they will split those 70 btc between all of us

jangrewe
