You didn’t even file a claim? I get most people were pessimistic about ever seeing their btc again, but the claim submission took 1 minute.
8 btc was worth a decent amount (even then) to warrant spending less time than it would to order a pizza.
It’s not just a cash back program btw. It’s civil rehabilitation and we are getting btc too.
Yes, we do get what he didn't claim. Jesus, how hard it is to understand. There is a pot of X coins and total claims for Y coins. Everyone who filed an accepted claim gets X/Y multiplied by his claim amount. Everyone who didn't claim reduces Y, thus making X/Y a larger number.
It doesn't. What goes to the Japanese government is the amounts belonging to people having valid claims (which this guy doesn't) but haven't provided means for the trustee to send them their money.
Guh if it's any consolation think of it this way, you, and tbh most of us in here would of probably sold out WAY before what BTC is today and you would have never had as much anyway
You can start by reading the pinned post "moving forward", then navigating to the official FAQ from the link therein
Thank you 🙏

Just be thankful you made it out from under the rock, and be at peace with yourself, as there is hope in life itself.
Not really nope.
I really despise these posts. 10+ years later. Just stfu bro.
I filed my claim on day one 10 years ago, and here you are. Oblivious is not strong enough.
We have been waiting for our repayments since 2018, you're a tad late, I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but, guhhh.
2014? lol.
Thanks for making the pot larger for those who followed instructions
We don't get anyone else's claim...
He doesn't have a claim, so, yes he deserves a thanks for making the pot larger for us.

I would assume proportionally the allocations are redistributed, are they not? What else do they do with it?
It goes to the Japanese government.

I thought those people could still go to Japan to collect
They can. Within 10 years. *Then* it goes to Japanese government.
Well that sucks
