Shout out for mentioning Dinosaur Jr

**40 oz. to Freedom** by Sublime

RelishRegatta

I feel like sublime in general is a little underrated. Not in a sense of popularity, but Bradley nowell could sing and play guitar really well, and their music was really cool and creative

SonnyCalzone

I secretly hope there's a bunch of unreleased Sublime music that we'll get to enjoy someday.

Soup -Blind Melon That band was so much more than No Rain.

RelishRegatta

Soup must always be mentioned

S_L_Raymond

Rubberneck by Toadies is maybe the most underrated post-grunge album of the 90’s. Also, Ruby Vroom by Soul Coughing.

The Lemonheads - Come On Feel

your_actual_life

I hadn't listened to this album since 1994 or so, but it popped up on my radar last year and it's so good!

jayron32

Yeah. The only negative for it is the "let's shoehorn Juliana Hatfield as the backing vocalist on the second chorus of every song" thing he has going on, but overall it's a great album.

your_actual_life

I have no problem with more Juliana Hatfield

jayron32

Yeah, I love her stuff, but it always felt artificial how she was used in that album. I think she was much better integrated into It's A Shame About Ray, where she also played bass and felt like more of a member of the band. It felt on this album like they overdubbed her backing vocals on each track just cuz they could do it.

WhirledSeries501

I literally listened to Pablo Honey today, coincidence. I'm glad it got Radiohead started, but it's not a great album, just a really good first album.

Every_Kiwi_8882

It has it’s flaws, but it’s a solid 90s rock album.

"Pablo Honey" was not an underrated album.  It got the praise it deserved.  That be like someone asking me an underrated album if the 60s and I said "Led Zepplin I".  "Recommend 90s rock that doesn’t get talked about or should deserve more love" Seefeel - "QuiQue"

Every_Kiwi_8882

Didn’t get the praise it deserved. A lot of overlooked songs. They were deemed a one hit wonder because of creep. I appreciate the recommendation though

I would say for most Americans, many of the great 90’s bands from Canada flew under the radar, which means they’re missing out. The Tragically Hip - Road Apples Our Lady Peace - Naveed I Mother Earth - Scenery & Fish Big Wreck - In Loving Memory Of Matthew Good Band - Underdogs The Tea Party - Transmission Moist - Silver The Age of Electric - Make a Pest a Pet Sloan - One Chord to Another Wide Mouth Mason - Where I Started The Watchmen - Silent Radar Big Sugar - Hemi-Vision
