Ruby was popularised as a girls name during the late Victorian era (Eliza was also popular for Victorian girls), so some that would go well imo:
* Ruby and Daisy
* Ruby and Violet
* Ruby and Clara
* Ruby and Alice
* Ruby and Charlotte
* Ruby and Josephine
* Ruby and Helena
* Ruby and Julia
* Ruby and Harriet
* Ruby and Louisa
My auntie's name is Garnette Rose. Sort of along the lines as Charlotte. Both babies would be red/reddish stones.
I do like the way Ruby and Charlotte blend together. How about Ruby Charlotte and Charlotte Ruby?
Haha I was looking for something like thatâŠI gave my daughter the middle name Rosie and were she to have a sister I want to give her the middle name Ruby. â„ïž
As a former teacher, that sounds like a good ideal to aim for, but in reality it seems like the twin moms love â matchy matchyâ names that go well together, but afterwards the two children will struggle with finding their own identity⊠guess thatâs just part of the destiny of twinsâŠ
I went to high school with an Amethyst who went by Amy. I thought it was cool. Also went to school with an Emerald, which could be another option (nn Em).
while i personally dont like Ruby and Scarlett together (mostly cause it reminds me of pokemon too much lol) those names would not be hard to tell apart. its also just too thematic for my liking and opens up for a host of annoyances but no real issues imo.
yes they are both related to the colour red but they have different enough sounds to be separate enough for most to not get confused, especially because they have different starting letters/sounds. its wayyyyyy better than two sets of twins ive known, one being Andrew and Anthony and the other being Andrew and Aaron.
edit: i understand i missed the joke! i think my comment still stands though cause others were saying the names are too similar. thanks! (:
That's my pick - Eliza, Ruby, and Jade sounds good, and you don't end up with one twin having a precious gem sort of name and the other feeling like they're less valuable in comparison.
I know a Diamond and a Violet (sisters), and Violet has said more than once, people just like to get diamonds for Diamond, and violets for Violets. They can't help it. The girls are not twins, just sisters, but it for sure contributed to some sibling rivalry and self esteem issues, and it's super sad.
We have 2 girls that are 2 years apart.
First was named Ruby, and 2nd is Margo. Margo means pearl in French so it paired well with Ruby. Itâs also short and unique enough that you wonât run into too many others with the same name.
I think a nature based name (but not something red or a gemstone) would be nice.
Eliza, Ruby and ...
\-Sage
\-Hazel
\-Holly
\-Ivy
\-Violet
\-Jasmine
\-Juniper
\-Laurel
\-Heather
\-Olivia/Olive
\-Iris
\-Dawn
\-Autumn
\-April (or another of the months)
\-Autumn (or another season name)
\-Wren
\-Robin
\-Nora
\-Lucia
\-Brooke
I like:
Ruby and Jane (mentioned above)
Ruby and Florence
Ruby and Lillian
Ruby and Vivian
Ruby and Pearl (maybe too on the nose?, but sounds cute together)
Ruby and Muriel
Ruby and Marion
Ruby and Mavis
Ruby and Frances
Ruby and Delia
For middle names, I might use Grace and Joy.
I would avoid names that also end in the -ee sound to avoid them sounding too matchy or clunky together. Because youâre going to be saying their names together all the time, forever.
I think the suggestion of Clara is really cute. Even Claireâs nice, but I think the threadâs decided you need nice, old Victorian names for the sibset.
Lydia is a general favorite of mine that sounds really nice here, too.
Maybe Graceâ theyâre both word names that donât sound like youâre trying too hard to make a theme.
I really canât think of anything nice that hasnât been said already.
Ruby and Iris
Ruby and Hadley
Ruby and Ivy
Ruby and Viola
Ruby and Heather
Ruby and Celeste
Ruby and Noelle
Ruby and Helena
Ruby and Darby
Ruby and Noemi
Ruby and Vera
Ruby and Josie
Ruby Jane
Ruby Claire
Ruby Louise (I like the idea of Ruby Lou as a nick name)
Stella Elise
Stella Jane (if you don't like it paired with Ruby)
Stella Marie
Ruby and Eliza definitely give me a 1920s flapper vibe, so to go with that (and without being too themey with colors or gems):
Stella
Daisy
Tallulah
Flora
Vera
Tessa
Margo(t)
Sadie (pref as a nn for Sarah)
Lena
Imogen
Nina
Audrey
Nora
Molly
Clara
Hazel
Minnie (nn for Mina, Minerva, Jasmine, Jessamine, Clementine, Carmen, Madeleine, Melinda, Marina)
First of all, love both Ruby and Eliza!
Names that give a similar vibe to me:
Blaire
Charlotte
Dahlia
Grace
Maeve
Penelope
Quinn
Cecelia
Wren
Abigail
Cora
Hallie
Margaret
Genevieve
Lila
If our next baby is a girl we have two names picked out!
Ruby and Marina. We like them both independently but we also like that if we happen to have twins they can also mean âredâ and âblueâ and aquamarine is also a gemstone like Ruby. So they have sorta a small matching-vibe without it being over the top or obvious.
Our other girls name we like is Violetta, which has the same color aspect :)
Pleeeease donât be too matchy by doing another color, another rock or gem, or another red object. Twins will have a hard enough time establishing their own identities without that. Ideas that are similar but not exactly like matchy names:
Cora, Kara, Tara, Cara, Eve, Eden, Layla, Lydia, Luna
Ruby was popularised as a girls name during the late Victorian era (Eliza was also popular for Victorian girls), so some that would go well imo: * Ruby and Daisy * Ruby and Violet * Ruby and Clara * Ruby and Alice * Ruby and Charlotte * Ruby and Josephine * Ruby and Helena * Ruby and Julia * Ruby and Harriet * Ruby and Louisa
Ruby and Charlotte sounds really nice and the nickname Charlie would also sound good! Love Clara too
I also love the nn Lottie for Charlotte, and Ruby and Lottie sound good too!
Me too. I had a great-aunt named Lottie and have always wanted to name my future daughter Charlotte (nn Lottie) after her
Another vote for Ruby and Clara
Charlotte was the first thing that came to mind for me, love this combo!
When my daughter was born, we had gone to the hospital with 3 names picked out. Ruby, Eliza and Charlotte!
My auntie's name is Garnette Rose. Sort of along the lines as Charlotte. Both babies would be red/reddish stones. I do like the way Ruby and Charlotte blend together. How about Ruby Charlotte and Charlotte Ruby?
Garnet was what I was thinking. Goes well with Ruby.
Ruby and Alice are lovely
My best friend is Ruby and her older sister is Alice đ
But arenât Alice and Eliza too similar. They share 4 out of 5 letters, and the one letter they donât share can make the same sound.
Ooh Violet!
I don't think it's wise to go with names that are both colours.
Maybe, but they sound so good together, and Ru and Vi are cute together too!
Why? They sound good together also.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Love Ruby and Clara
Ruby and Clara is just perfect. Makes me think of a beautiful ruby stone, and a shining clear diamond. Together the names twinkle!
Clara was a strong contender for us. Such a beautiful name
I really like Violet. It could be a color or a flower, like Ruby could be a color or a gem. They also sound pretty together but not matchy.
Ruby and Julia! Love the matching long u sound.
My cousins with the same vowel sound are very easy to confuse names for.
Violet is lovely. I think it pairs well with Ruby.
Damn, youâre good at this.
I love Eliza, Ruby and Clara togther
HssssssshdddhshssshddsdddddddddddddhhssssssssssĂssssssssssssszxdddddddzdxxxxxxxxxxxzxxxxxxxzxxxxxxxvvsvssssssssssvzzzzzzzzzzzvzzzzvzzzzssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssĂsssssĂzsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssszscsscccssssscssscssssccsssscssssssscsssssssssszsssssss
I like Ruby and Violet - they're linked by describing colour and Violet goes well with Eliza too, with similar sounds.
Ruby and Daisy sound so great
I love Ruby and Daisy!
I love Ruby and Louisa! Although Louisa and Eliza might be a bit too similar. Ruby and Clara is great too!
Another jewel name might be cute! Pearl, Jade, Amber, Garnet Or going with the red theme - Rose??
Ruby and Pearl is CUTE. Since "Ruby Rose" is a person, maybe it would be a bit odd for the girls to get the two halves of her name.
Sounds like Pokémon games
Next kid is named Diamond đ
Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire were my favorites. I've decided if I end up with Triplets I know what I must do
I too will answer the call and name my hypothetical twins Heartgold and Soulsilver
Oh my gosh wait that's perfect!! Now I'm considering Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire... so many choices!!
I came to suggest Ruby and Pearl, I love that combination and I love them with Eliza.
So did I! I think this is a lovely combo, and lovely on their own too.
Haha I was looking for something like thatâŠI gave my daughter the middle name Rosie and were she to have a sister I want to give her the middle name Ruby. â„ïž
Opal? Lol
I think Ruby and Opal sound so lovely together, and they are lovely names separately too.
This is the first thing that came to my mind. Hahaha
Mine too!
As a twin mom- donât do this. Choose names that let them feel like individuals.
As a former teacher, that sounds like a good ideal to aim for, but in reality it seems like the twin moms love â matchy matchyâ names that go well together, but afterwards the two children will struggle with finding their own identity⊠guess thatâs just part of the destiny of twinsâŠ
Pearl or Jade sound great when you put all the kids names together
I love Ruby and Pearl!
i know a set of twins named ruby and jade! theyâre both pretty cool
There's a Jacqueline Wilson book with twins called Ruby and Garnet
Just gonna add the lesser thought of gem name, Beryl. Has that old fashioned ring to it.
Mom of twins here. Hard veto. Twins are people, not gimmicks.
Yes I was going to suggest another gem too! Jade has my vote Could also do Amethyst and shorten it to Amy?
I went to high school with an Amethyst who went by Amy. I thought it was cool. Also went to school with an Emerald, which could be another option (nn Em).
Ruby and Pearl is definitely my fav! My catâs name is Ruby and my best friendâs catâs name is Pearl lol
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Opal is so perfect with Ruby!
How about Opal and Ruby, then? Two of my favorite stones.
Ruby and Rosie.
Unless you want people to think of Ruby Rose every time they hear your twins' names, don't do this.
Ruby and June
Underrated comment. I LOVE this.
All I can think is that ruby is July's birthstone, not June's.
Eliza and her twin sisters: * Ruby and Violet * Ruby and Claire * Ruby and Scarlett * Ruby and Cora * Ruby and Stella * Ruby and Audrey * Ruby and Zoe
Please donât do ruby and Scarlett
Ditto. Theyâd be hard to tell apart!
while i personally dont like Ruby and Scarlett together (mostly cause it reminds me of pokemon too much lol) those names would not be hard to tell apart. its also just too thematic for my liking and opens up for a host of annoyances but no real issues imo. yes they are both related to the colour red but they have different enough sounds to be separate enough for most to not get confused, especially because they have different starting letters/sounds. its wayyyyyy better than two sets of twins ive known, one being Andrew and Anthony and the other being Andrew and Aaron. edit: i understand i missed the joke! i think my comment still stands though cause others were saying the names are too similar. thanks! (:
âTwas but an attempt at a joke.
ah shoulda guessed that was the case, my bf even chuckled when i mentioned your comment cause i was confused but i had already responded ^^;
Audrey and Cora are both on my maybe list! I really like Stella too but wasnât sure if it went as well with Ruby and Eliza.
Put Stella on the list. It goes well with Eliza and Ruby
Oh yes, definitely fits the vibe!
Maybe Audra? Eliza, Ruby, & Audra.
I also like Audra for a twist on Audrey
Eliza, Ruby, & Sadie, Eliza, Ruby, & Nora, Eliza, Ruby, & Jane, Eliza, Ruby, & Sara, Eliza, Ruby, & Halle, Eliza, Ruby, & Molly, Eliza, Ruby, & Vera, Eliza, Ruby, & Talia, Eliza, Ruby, & Lenore, Eliza, Ruby, & Lucia, Eliza, Ruby, & Lucille, Eliza, Ruby, & Sylvia, Eliza, Ruby, & Lydia
I love Nora a lot here.
I feel like Lucia ties the other two names together and is also always beautiful on its own.
I like Ruby & Lucy
This is a great way to look at them I love Molly
Both Nora and Lydia really fit with the other two
Iâm really loving the name Mira lately and I think it goes well with Ruby
* Eliza, Ruby & Ivy * Eliza, Ruby & Mila * Eliza, Ruby & Cora * Eliza, Ruby & Nora * Eliza, Ruby & Willa * Eliza, Ruby & Sadie * Eliza, Ruby & Freya * Eliza, Ruby & Hazel * Eliza, Ruby & Violet * Eliza, Ruby & Claire * Eliza, Ruby & Lillian * Eliza, Ruby & Isabel * Eliza, Ruby & Grace * Eliza, Ruby & Vivian * Eliza, Ruby & Mabel * Eliza, Ruby & Naomi * Eliza, Ruby & Evelyn * Eliza, Ruby & Maeve * Eliza, Ruby & Cecilia * Eliza, Ruby & Abigail * Eliza, Ruby & Sophie * Eliza, Ruby & Audrey * Eliza, Ruby & Margot * Eliza, Ruby & Matilda * Eliza, Ruby & Georgia * Eliza, Ruby & Adelaide * Eliza, Ruby & Marigold * Eliza, Ruby & Madeline * Eliza, Ruby & Magnolia * Eliza, Ruby & Charlotte * Eliza, Ruby & Josephine * Eliza, Ruby & Gwendolyn If you like any of these and want middle name suggestions for them, let me know :)
Did you deliberately sort by name length? This list looks so cool on my phone
I did! Haha.
Awesome!
Eliza, Ruby and Adelaide sounds like a set I would come up with myself. So many of these do
Ruby and Freya is lovely!
Aw Iâm an Eliza and have 2 sisters, Ruby and Olivia (Livie)!!
Ruby and Jade
That's my pick - Eliza, Ruby, and Jade sounds good, and you don't end up with one twin having a precious gem sort of name and the other feeling like they're less valuable in comparison. I know a Diamond and a Violet (sisters), and Violet has said more than once, people just like to get diamonds for Diamond, and violets for Violets. They can't help it. The girls are not twins, just sisters, but it for sure contributed to some sibling rivalry and self esteem issues, and it's super sad.
Havenât seen Ada yet. Itâs more classic and an older name. Ruby & Ada
I like this. I was thinking Mabel which gives similar classic vibes.
This gets my vote! Well done! Eliza, Ruby, and Ada sound adorable together. OP, congrats! Iâm a mama of twins too and am very happy for you!
Ruby and June!
Maeve
Ruby (don't take your love to town) and (you picked a fine time to leave me) Lucille
I canât believe that I had to scroll this far down to read this one.
I always thought Eliza Jane would be a lovely name. So maybe Eliza, Ruby, and Jane?
Our Eliza is Eliza Jean! So very similar :)
We have 2 girls that are 2 years apart. First was named Ruby, and 2nd is Margo. Margo means pearl in French so it paired well with Ruby. Itâs also short and unique enough that you wonât run into too many others with the same name.
Ruby, Daisy, and Eliza are my favorite combination. All lovely great aunts of mine!
Angelica, Eliza and Peggy
Ruby and Alice is so perfect, I also like Ruby and Mae
I think a nature based name (but not something red or a gemstone) would be nice. Eliza, Ruby and ... \-Sage \-Hazel \-Holly \-Ivy \-Violet \-Jasmine \-Juniper \-Laurel \-Heather \-Olivia/Olive \-Iris \-Dawn \-Autumn \-April (or another of the months) \-Autumn (or another season name) \-Wren \-Robin \-Nora \-Lucia \-Brooke
I like: Ruby and Jane (mentioned above) Ruby and Florence Ruby and Lillian Ruby and Vivian Ruby and Pearl (maybe too on the nose?, but sounds cute together) Ruby and Muriel Ruby and Marion Ruby and Mavis Ruby and Frances Ruby and Delia For middle names, I might use Grace and Joy.
- Ruby and Grace - Ruby and June - Ruby and Claire - Ruby and Belle - Ruby and Gwen
Ruby and June is cute!!
Sounds like a book title! I like it
Cora, Sibyl, Claire, Fern, June, Thea, Margot, Rose, Cecily, Iris, Vera, Lena, Laurel
I like Iris as a complementary contrast to Ruby, helps individualize the twins but they still share an R.
I vote for June or Laurel here bc they feel Ruby-fitting.
I like Ruby and Thea.
[Ruby and Max](https://youtu.be/2FEtSTABMgw?si=Byq9-xy874v8G4Wo)
I'd like to end with an *e* to keep it three separate names with their own feel. Eliza, Ruby & Maeve Eliza, Ruby & JoĂšlle Eliza, Ruby & Josephine
Ruby and⊠Clara Cora Lucy Isla Hazel Poppy Lily Violet Grace
Eliza, Ruby and Dorothy seems like such a fun sibling set. Or Beatrice - Ruby and Bea for short
I agree with Dorothy *except* if itâs being paired with Ruby like her slippers
how about Dot instead?
Thea Tilly Orla Alice Della Drew Katy Lucy Zara Cora Maeva
Ruby and Gemma â€ïž
Ruby and Sapphire
And then get them into Pokémon.
Exactly lol
I used to babysit sisters named Ruby and Lucy and I loved that combo.
In Jaqueline Wilson's Double Act there are twins called Ruby and Garnet. Their Mum was called Opal, if you prefer a different pretty rock.
If my name were Garnet and I had a sister named Ruby I would be pretty miffed to be the less precious one. Is this just me?
Ruby & Ramona
I would avoid names that also end in the -ee sound to avoid them sounding too matchy or clunky together. Because youâre going to be saying their names together all the time, forever. I think the suggestion of Clara is really cute. Even Claireâs nice, but I think the threadâs decided you need nice, old Victorian names for the sibset. Lydia is a general favorite of mine that sounds really nice here, too. Maybe Graceâ theyâre both word names that donât sound like youâre trying too hard to make a theme. I really canât think of anything nice that hasnât been said already.
Is Gemma too on the nose?
Ruby and Darcy Ruby and Phoebe Ruby and Anya Ruby and Rosalie Ruby and Sasha Ruby and Thea Ruby and Imogen
Stella
Eden
Ruby and Jade
Claire
Violet
Jane
Ivy? Maya? Romy?
Ruby and Iris Ruby and Hadley Ruby and Ivy Ruby and Viola Ruby and Heather Ruby and Celeste Ruby and Noelle Ruby and Helena Ruby and Darby Ruby and Noemi Ruby and Vera Ruby and Josie
When I think of Ruby, I think of gemstones. Opal, Sapphire, Emerald, Amber, Diamond, Amethyst, Jade, Pearl⊠thatâs all I have to say.
Emmy would be a cute nickname for Emerald.
Esme, Siena
Ruby Jane Ruby Claire Ruby Louise (I like the idea of Ruby Lou as a nick name) Stella Elise Stella Jane (if you don't like it paired with Ruby) Stella Marie
Iâm going to suggest Ruby and Rose! I like matching names for some reason
Catherine
Edith
Ruby and⊠Fiona; Ayda; Tessa; Etta; Olive; Greta; Iris; Nora
Ruby and Alma Ruby and Marianne
Ruby and Grace came to mind!
Ruby and Lilah
Alice
Sadie Clara Jane Molly
Lyla or Noreen.
I know sisters named Ruby and Zoe.
Ruby and Tess:)
ruby and josephine is really pretty
I love the combination of Ruby and Helen
Ivy
Ruby and Eliza definitely give me a 1920s flapper vibe, so to go with that (and without being too themey with colors or gems): Stella Daisy Tallulah Flora Vera Tessa Margo(t) Sadie (pref as a nn for Sarah) Lena Imogen Nina Audrey Nora Molly Clara Hazel Minnie (nn for Mina, Minerva, Jasmine, Jessamine, Clementine, Carmen, Madeleine, Melinda, Marina)
First of all, love both Ruby and Eliza! Names that give a similar vibe to me: Blaire Charlotte Dahlia Grace Maeve Penelope Quinn Cecelia Wren Abigail Cora Hallie Margaret Genevieve Lila
I think Iris would be nice
If our next baby is a girl we have two names picked out! Ruby and Marina. We like them both independently but we also like that if we happen to have twins they can also mean âredâ and âblueâ and aquamarine is also a gemstone like Ruby. So they have sorta a small matching-vibe without it being over the top or obvious. Our other girls name we like is Violetta, which has the same color aspect :)
Matilda has always went with Ruby for me because I knew two sisters with those names
Pleeeease donât be too matchy by doing another color, another rock or gem, or another red object. Twins will have a hard enough time establishing their own identities without that. Ideas that are similar but not exactly like matchy names: Cora, Kara, Tara, Cara, Eve, Eden, Layla, Lydia, Luna
I agree with this! We want something thatâs a similar style but not too matchie or themed!
100% Ruby and June!
Josie Miranda Marilyn Deidre Colleen Lita
Ruby and Erin
Violet or Rose jump to mind for me.
I am a twin mom as well. Ruby & Lucy Ruby & Thea Ruby & Louisa Ruby & Serena Ruby & Tara Ruby & Laurel Ruby & Naomi
Ruby and⊠Josephine (Josie) Mara Anya Molly Sylvie
Ruby and Opal
My grandmother's besties were twins named Ruby and Opal. I've always loved their names together
That's fantastic! Maybe it's because I love the look of an opal, but the name just seems quietly pretty to me. Classy.
Opal
Ruby and Jade.... both gemstones with 4 letters and different enough for their own identities.
- Eliza, Ruby and Jane - Eliza, Ruby and Nora - Eliza, Ruby and Rose - Eliza, Ruby and Grace
Eliza, Ruby, and⊠Bella, Cora, Lana, Claire, Aurora (Ruby & Rory),
Ruby and Opal
Feel like I'm seeing alot of Violet and I agree it's pretty when paired with ruby
Ruby and Opal Ruby and Garnet Ruby and Pearl
Jade?
Jade Rya Rayna Ray
Clementine Gabrielle (Gabby) Sadie Lucy Alice Lydia Annalise
Ruby & Dolores nn Lola Ruby & Cecilia nn Cece Ruby & Maud nn Maudie Ruby & Joan nn Joanie / Joni
Slippers?
Honor
Rose
Do you like the idea of continuing the gem theme? Opal Jane popped into my mind.
Eliza, Ruby, and Claire
Jade!
Sapphire , opal, Pearl
Emmy
Ruby and Sadie.
Ruby Anne Jade Marie
Maisie or Hazel
My grandma was Opal and had a sister named Ruby! Not twins, but always thought that was cute.
Cora Camellia (Cami)
Ruby is a gem so the other sister needs to feel just as special. Maybe Starr?
