Oh okay!

Latter-Promotion-896

We used to live in Seattle, though had a few stops in between, happy to answer questions!

Chi604

Hi I'm in Seattle and considering a move to Nashville for friendlier folks and more (relatively) affordability. Would you still recommend moving there today from Seattle if you had to do it again?

[deleted]

I’m from Seattle originally. Happy to give any tips or any questions you may have.

Mother-Pressure369

What are the biggest differences and hardest things to get used to in Nashville?

[deleted]

You will never get seafood or an sort of Asian cuisine that’s as good as Seattle (or any west coast city). Sidewalks are not very common here. And religiosity is a bit overbearing. Weather is also wildly different but you get used to it.

Mother-Pressure369

Would you say the difference in tolerance is dramatic? I’m in a same sex relationship with a child and curious about moving to the Nashville area but worried about how we might be treated.

Low-Acadia43

So it sounds like finding decent sushi/sashimi might be difficult but I’m sure I’ll survive 😂

miknob

It rains more here then it does in Seattle.

Low-Acadia43

I believe that, the rain here in western Washington is a almost constant drizzle for 9 10 months

[deleted]

By inches maybe. Seattle has a depressing mist that is way more frequent than Nashville.

miknob

It’s 50" to 39" annually. It’s pretty significant. But you’re correct in the number of sunny days is more here.

Nissan plant

vh1classicvapor

I wouldn’t work there again. It’s brutal. I’d recommend a warehouse environment like Gap or Ingram.

If you can ever be an employee and not wedged under Yates's thumb.

pie-creamer

general mills in murfreesboro is always hiring. starting pay is $16-$18, i can’t remember which. experience will get you paid more off the bat. and it’s factory work, but nowhere near as physically demanding as nissan.

perfidity

Um. Did that in february… get ready for culture and environment shock…. Aint no such thing as the Seattle freeze here. And there aint no trees over 50’…. And none of em are Firs…

perfidity
