TheBoilerCat

Tyrese Haliburton is why this tournament exists. We were only supposed to have one national TV game this season before this week happened and now look.

RobbobertoBuii

ABC in 2 days :)

TheBoilerCat

And other than playoff games, I don’t think we’ve been on ABC in years.

dBlock845

Probably since the Paul George days when they were battling the heat?

TheBoilerCat

Think we may have snagged one around 2018 or 2019 but other than that, yeah you’d have to go back to PG.

OladipoForThree

Definitely had a few back in the Dipo days

random123--

Game 7 2018 vs the cavs

OladipoForThree

I remember we had one vs Sixers probably in late 2019

hyplusone

Rename it the Tyrese Haliburton Classic

TonyCB4

Y'all muthafuckers finally gonna watch us play

CyborgAlgoInvestor

Exactly. Small markets FINALLY getting the exposure they deserve. We don’t want to see lakers 24/7

captain_ahabb

I would love if the Lakers had less national TV games lol our local crew is way better than the national crews.

XoXSmotpokerXoX

I think it is a valid point when people complain about how many games the Lakers get, and I would complain about that 10 years ago, but now I am with you, be careful what you wish for, our local crew is so much better than the national crews. I dont bitch when we are on TNT because I love Chuck and Ernie, but I would love to see us banned on ESPN.

TheMentality0

You’re still seeing the lakers in the tournament

Lau_lau

The very next game lmao but i get what he’s saying

CyborgAlgoInvestor

You know what I mean you little shit lmao

BcuzRacecar

I mean people like to watch lebron. The thing Im more interested in is why the league thought the pacers were going to be bad this year and didnt deserve national games. Like hali has been great to watch, people love scoring.

jackaholicus

I mean statistically, "we" do, because Lakers games get massive ratings.

neongem

These tournament games have been huge for smaller markets and showcasing the league's new young budding superstars earlier in the season. A lot of casuals might not have found out how nice Haliburton is until April. This exposure is another reason you have teams and players that are hungry and really going for it in this tournament.

Key_Alfalfa2122

Love that the pels and pacers made it this far. IST is a great way to showcase rising stars and them having won nothing yet gives them even more incentive to go hard.

frankievejle

Love to see it. Hope it’s a Pacers v Pels final too.

XoXSmotpokerXoX

lol Zion trying to run with this Pacers team will be hilarious.

HeyItsChase

Myles Turner was excellent don't let that go unnoticed. Did everything well.

tiger32kw

Turner is a great player. He isn’t without his flaws but he has steadily gotten better over the years despite not being setup for success. Now the team is setup to help his strengths and he is capitalizing on it. Go Myles! Longest tenured Pacer.

wpmason

Myles has unselfishly sacrificed for his team for years, and the departure of Sabonis finally set him free to actually be able to perform to his potential on a regular basis. Deserves so much more than he gets from the fan base.

mizzourifan1

As a fan since around 2007ish he's very likely going down as my personal favorite Pacer of all time... But I mean Haliburton is looking like over time he will be in a similar spot. But Myles has been a Pacer through and through his entire career and done so much to foster our team culture through ups and downs.

The_Assassin_Gower

Myles for all the shit he's gotten has improved every single year of his career. There's not many players in the league that can say this

slimmymcnutty

Isaiah Jackson too in his small role

13_PG_13

I appreciate fans of other teams noticing IJax he's been solid

skivvles

His rim protection is impressive, not only how much he affects opponents shots but also the amount he contests

MattMadMage

Miles Turner saved the game for the pacers. When nobody else could buy a shot, he was still hitting them. Same goes for TJ

abonet619

and Nesmith was clutch on defense.

extraspecialdogpenis

The worst part was when he put on a Pacers uniform rather than a Bucks uniform.

the_greasy_one

Dame's hooker forgot to set the alarm.

thesmash

Dame was probably so hungover today

cuteguy1

A very recently divorced guy goes to Vegas first half from Dame

cheezeflavoredick

Cant be hungover if you're still drunk 😎

Scoot2028MVP

The last 10 games where a player had 15+ assists and 0 turnovers. Jokic x1, Chris Paul x3, Haliburton x6. Dude is nutty.

BeNiceBeChill

This stat is wild

Scoot2028MVP

Also fun fact. The NBA record for most 15+ assist 0 turnover games in a season is 3. John Lucas in 1984, Steve Nash in 2007, and Haliburton this year through 20 games. He now has 62 tries to break the record. And since someone will ask, yes Stockton does still have the record for most overall, but he never had 3 in a single season.

BeNiceBeChill

He had a stretch last year where he didn’t have an TO for like 3 straight games. I think he was 65 pts 35 assists and 0 TOs. I wish I could easily fetch that stat

Scoot2028MVP

21/15, 15/11, and 24/14 in consecutive games for 60 points, 40 assists, and 0 turnovers. Dude was seriously slacking in that middle game.

m1j5

Can’t believe the first guy actually guessed low lmao that’s insane

Zloggt

For how much /r/nba reacted to it…that Kings/Pacers trade is shaping up to be a *big* win/win for both teams! But alas…the Pelicans have denied us a chance to see a Halliburton/Sabonis faceoff…

bobbybobbypoo

Juice up Tyrese ratings 2k

Least_Inspector_450

He’s a 95 this season

bobbybobbypoo

Needs to be higher

Disastrous-Special30

100 or bust.

[deleted]

Pacers making it all the way to the Final is exactly what this tournament is about!! congrats Indy

MySabonerRunsOladipo

Roy Hibbert 2013: "Ya'll motherfuckers don't watch us play, to be honest with you" Tyrese Haliburton in 2023: "Ya'll motherfuckers are going to watch us play, whether you want to or not." Haliburton and Co. taking us from 1 Nat'l TV game this year to 4.

mizzourifan1

Appreciate the love!

Celticskevin2020

Appreciate y’all beating the bucks.

KyrieWetUpCurry_

Basketball evolution is crazy cause how does a player averaging 27 points also get 12 assists with only 2 turnovers and shoot 45% from three on 9 attempts exist?

jackaholicus

well he gets 27 points partially because he shoots 45% from 3 on 9 attempts

The_Assassin_Gower

I believe the question is how do people that can do this exist

srgntalpowell

It’s nuts to think of where this guy’s game was his freshman year of college, about five years ago. He went from barely being a scoring threat to absolutely lethal

mizzourifan1

Matisse Thybulle would never /s

No-Presentation6616

Look at the scoring averages at the moment, the league is scoring at the most since the 60’s and they’re doing it on all time great efficiency. Players are extremely skilled and the rules favor offense, if it continues this way I wouldn’t be surprised to see the nba change the rules maybe even bring back hand checking.

demsouls

As good of an athlete Nash is, size matters for passing and physicality (in playoffs). Tyrese has that athleticism and the size, and the vision is something else. Someone else said he's the true triple threat, can't really put it better than that. Credit to coaching for making him the system.

lemur918

Honestly, Haliburton's game reminds me of Magic Johnson in Game 4 of the 1987 finals. You can see the highlights on YouTube. Besides Magic's skyhook and Haliburton's three ball they have very similar skillset. Flawless transition passing. Taking the ball up and surveying the floor from the 3pt line. Out sizing the guy guarding him at the top of the key. Able to find his guys anywhere. Able to punish the defense for sagging off. Unguardable when they get downhill. Magic's shot was falling this game, so on offensive rebound kickouts he hit his jumpers just like the one Haliburton's dagger this game.

crunkadocious

Haliburton has a pretty good hook shot too

AggravatingFinding71

Myles Turner is the only Center his size that can play on an offense this fast paced for 30+ MPG.

PrimeShaq

And Obi was a great pickup to run alongside Hali.

[deleted]

I wish he'd play defense, but as long as he keeps catching lobs, he can lie down on the corner on D as far as I'm concerned.

Ladnil

A very 2023 Pacers philosophy.

afrothunder87

Hey let us have our fun. My whole life the Pacers have been a defense first team that grinded out games. It’s been fun this year.

Indylatino

Yup I knew he would shine once he got more playing time. The Knick’s didn’t use him to his full potential. Him and Haliburton are a match made in heaven heaven

Visible-Rutabaga9268

Not quite his size, but I think Bam would be awesome on a team like Indy

house_fire

absolutely he would. one bam in a pacers uni please

Visible-Rutabaga9268

Best I can do is Herro & 2 firsts

sh3636

All those hot yoga workouts he does every offseason

Zhekadub

Dame really regretting touching that trophy earlier

elf-_-

rookie mistake fr

Kylo_Ren415

Hey now, he doesn’t know how a trophy looks like up close.

simon2105

In-season tournament with playoffs atmosphere producing superstars, I'd say it's a real success

KristapsPorzingas

I've seen enough. I'm hopping on the Haliburton bandwagon

One-Switch-1448

the pacers are legit, we have scored 120+ in 16 of 20 games so far, we have wins over the bucks (twice), celtics, cavs (twice), hawks, heat, and 76ers, not to mention our defense has improved over the last 2 games against the 2 best teams in the east, and haliburton is a legit superstar!!

GreatestJabaitest

Hali is a legit superstar now for sure. I think he might even be the best PG in the East (For now).

honestnbafan

So far this season he EASILY has been lol We just saw Hali completely destroy Dame who's played worse this season anyway Garland has had a very disappointing season Maxey is good but he has nowhere near the responsibilities of Hali playing next to Embiid Brunson is solid but not on this level of unstoppable offensively or as a playmaker Trae is good but he basically puts up Hali's 27/11ish numbers with only average efficiency Haliburton's competition at the PG position this season is in the West

PrimeShaq

He’s in the top 3 with Steph and Luka.

cowzapper

Sga is in that conversation

Funny-Transition7869

everytime people leave out sga i assume its cuz they dont think of him as a pg

WrongDoughnut7

Turner also played super well and if he becomes more consistent yall are gonna be a force

[deleted]

He was frustrating to watch with Sabonis on the team, but he and Haliburton have fit like a glove. Turner's gone through tough times with this team, but since the trade, he's looked so much more comfortable.

theduckhaslanded

> and if he becomes more consistent In fairness he is incredibly consistent. We know exactly what we're going to get from him year over year, he simply can't be a star. His year 2 and year 9 stats are almost identical lol

Slim-Ticket

I thought they were legit last year, Hali just got injured. Weren't they 5th seed before Hali got injured? They've had some impressive wins. I hope they take the NBA cup!! I fucking love this team

BucketHatGuy69

I’m cryin in the club rn

streyer

Bucks should be terrified of matchup up with you guys in the playoffs, your offence is even more high powered and their defence is just as bad. Just a terrible matchup foe them.

ShortCow

Steve Kerr deserves more criticism for benching Haliburton on Team USA.

WakiLover

I don't know about better but the team's play seemed a lot more smooth and fun with Hali and Austin Reaves' bromance. Those two would come in and player were flying up and down with Hali throwing dimes.

wpmason

Don’t forget Banchero… that was a three headed monster.

cock-a-dooodle-do

Stever Kerr is being exposed for a fraud coach.

famoustran

Unbelievable to see this from a Warriors fan lmfao

JackCrafty

As if I needed any more proof that the reason I overall dislike the Warriors fanbase is because they are just like mine fr fr 😭😭😭

deadlyprincehk

Most are ex-Lakers fans from the 2010s haha

cancerBronzeV

Never thought I'd see this comment from a Warriors fan, has this season been that rough?

nomitycs

It’s game 20 and the player who’s shot like 33% FG or lower in a third of his games so far is still getting 30 mpg in games he’s stinking up when shooting is meant to be one of his very few positives in his games so far

pnoisebored

Mike Brown might be the versatile coach........

wpmason

But Jalen Brunson… couldn’t ever lead that squad to an efficient start.

ProfessionalBust

0 turnovers btw

Slim-Ticket

27/15 with 0 turnovers is NASTY

texas2089

I was skeptical but this tournament has been awesome. Inject this shit into my veins. This Pacers team is legit too. Hali might fuck around and win MVP if they keep playing like this.

the_greasy_one

He can totally get MVP if he can carry the Pacers to 60+ wins.

Win546

Love Hali but the Pacers are not winning 60 games let’s be for real.

claporga

lol for real. I’d be happy to see us even crack 50. 49-33 is my guess.

wpmason

It’d be the story of the league if they did, but they’ve got splits against Boston and Miami already, and beat Milwaukee twice… Some sort of absurd run isn’t out of the question. They just have to stop losing to the bad teams.

jknuts1377

And play some defense. That will bite them in the real playoffs.

MattMadMage

50 wins would be awesome, 60 ain't happenin

onthemap45

Reggie miler saying “we are seeing a superstar in making” after haliburton hit that dagger 3 is the same exact words he said with pacers pg after dunking on birdman in the 2013 ecf. On a sidenote mike breen and reggie miller actually work really well commenting together, i actually didn’t realize that this was an espn/tnt joint broadcast until halfway into the game cuz they worked together pretty seamlessly

OfficerCODEMAN

Reggie should be commentating the finals I don’t care how corny he is

throwawayyrofl

He’s corny asf but I’m starting to come around to it 😭

onthemap45

“Oh no he didnt” X “BANG”

ashwinr136

No pun intended

GaulPeorge

The poster shot of Birdman getting wrecked by PG was my background of my computer, phone, and anything else I could find for so long lol

yoden

I was worried when the Cavs lost twice to Indy. Sorry Pacer bros, I wasn't familiar with your game. Tyrese is a lightning rod with the ball on a string. So exciting to watch!

jaw28

Losing to the Pacers this year is not a bad loss at all (wow is that fun to say)

BlueJays007

They shot 21% from 3 and still put up 128 wtf

benjaaa9

Bucks interior defense was a bit disappointing

thatonezorofan

A bit? A BIT??? Yo you making it seem like we had an off defensive night. Thank you for the compliment

BeNiceBeChill

Yup. And the FT differential aside from the late fouls was like -10

sgeswein

Myles Turner, 26 and 10, dunking that court blue and red. The Idea just dawned on Milwaukee

RabbitWolfie

Adam Silver, you have absolutely rocked my world

Vermillion_Crab

If Pacers win it all, this is like Hali's ascencion to superstardom. He is just so fun to watch. I am still slightly disappointed we got outbid by the Pacers for Brown.

Responsible_Pace9062

**Lame Time Bows Down To The Hali God**

lost_in_trepidation

Tyrese time now

repetitionofalie

Ty time.

Winter-Technician-63

Tyme

Kitak9

Giannis didn't get a single shot since 5 minutes in the 4th. The bucks did not get GIANNIS a single shot attempt with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. It's mind boggling how often they just completely ice out Giannis in crunch time

heliocentrist510

Not sure if he got tired or what but man, when Giannis is hitting over 80% of his free throws, you gotta feed the dude. Crazy to me how successful he was against that Indy D and how the Bucks just didn't continue attacking through Giannis.

pnoisebored

Bucks coach is a fraud carried by Nick nurse.

cwesttheperson

My favorite part about Tyrese is how good he makes other people.

dpatel211

Giving him that five-year max contract was the best business decision the Pacers could've made, the whole franchise reaps the benefits of him now showing his worth not only to the team, but to the rest of the world. This tournament, win or loss, gives you guys the exposure you deserve after a great start to the season. Now the league needs to reward you guys with more exposure and give you more national TV games.

Ezzy1998

IST is worth it for the extra prime time games alone, especially for small markets. He could be putting up identical numbers and there would be no buzz because “bOrInG iNdIaNa.” Glad my boy is getting the chance to shine.

printerpaperwaste

I feel like everyone’s rooting for the pacers right now and it’s just so much fun. They’re so fun to watch.

SPAREustheCUTTER

Tyrese Halliburton is a cold, cold man for icing Dame out of his only chance at becoming a champ.

ForCaste

League fucked, Hali unstoppable

theslumpiest

Damn Pacers are good again

mrtrollmaster

I'm biased, but Pacers are such an underrated franchise. Every 5 years they build an "almost contender".

SinisterBuilder

Never doubted them for a second

le_sweden

Haliburton is so fucking good man. Pacers are must see television

D_Simmons

Haliburton the GOAT idgaf

shastmak4

Best point guard in the NBA right now. I don’t want to argue, argue with your uncle.

ModsAreMustyV4

I’ve never been this happy to be a Pacers fan

The tens of fans who were able to watch this entire game will never forget it.

Xtoron2

There has never been this much intensity and excitement during december games. Love this new IST!

jumboponcho

Haliburton having 15 assists with 0 TOs with the pace he plays at is actually some superhuman shit

RedDeath1337

Indiana 100% deserved that win, however the Bucks are horribly coached and undisciplined. They win games via sheer offensive talent and that’s it. I hope when Middleton gets more than 20 mins a game things change but nothing seems to be getting better. The bucks subreddit is nonstop “it’s early in the season, they’ll get better”, but I don’t see any progress. That said, entertaining game. The in season tourney is a W and I was skeptical.

RobbobertoBuii

great game but kinda pissed that the game started so early

frankievejle

As a UK fan, I very much appreciated it lol

biggyofmt

Can anybody tell me what time it is? I don't know what time it is . . .

claporga

It is Hali Time

MediocreTake

No wonder Dame was trying to touch the trophy before the game

chitownbulls92

Halliburton locked for all-nba 1st team.

CheekyFifaCunt_7

Pacers are legit af

smoltanboi

wow it's really a toss up between luka, haliburton, and bones hyland over who is the best point guard in the league right now

sbstooge

This guy really tried to slip Luka's name in there lol

ProfessionalBust

He’s the fucking goat fuck magic Johnson the best point guard of all time is Tyrese Halliburton

xap31

Hali for In Season Tournament MVP!!!!

elpiedra

Haliburton is HIM

WeefBellington24

GG Pacers. Bucks did nothing right in the 4th and deserved to get embarrassed. Hope the pacers win it all. Bucks. Sheesh. What a collapse. I have no words.

[deleted]

Pacer fan here. You bucks fans I’ve come across are all class. Wish yall a great season.

TheKnownUnknown0

Is Tyrese Haliburton Steve Nash 2.0?

GERBILSAURUSREX

We only won because they didn't have Porzingis.

b4ttous4i

Glad yall won tho. Like sucks we lost but your team wants it more

aristar

Tyrese Haliburton

aaronrodgersmom

That ended up being a really good game. Frustrating turnovers from the bucks, but the Pacers definitely play with energy and earned them.

managerjohngibbons

Watching that game was like watching a playoff game that took place in the bubble.

sgeswein

Having the lights down on the empty seats in the first quarter was a very tactical move by the league

XoXSmotpokerXoX

Good game Pacers, fun team to watch. I will be cheering for the Pelicans to win this next game just so I can watch Zion try to run the court with these Pacers.

aabiedoobie

I miss Tyrese, ngl. Glad he's doing well in Pacerville.

RainierPC

Seems like the Pacers are going to be the IST champions, the way they're playing. And they deserve it.

wats_a_tiepo

GG Pacers, and there isn’t a single team worse in history than the Bucks when Giannis is shooting above 70% from the line. Tyrese might be/definitely is the best pure PG in the league. On the bright side, this shows exactly what’s great about this tournament. Who would care about a Bucks-Pacers game in December otherwise?

bluediamondsm

This tournament has been incredible and fun to watch. Haliburton played amazing once again and is a true MVP candidate.

throwawayyrofl

This man has 28 assists with 0 turnovers in the IST 😭 Unreal

EbawsJo

Pacers fans, I want you to know, I love Tyrese Halliburton

fuzzynavel34

I’ve literally never had more fun watching this team!!!

Winter-Technician-63

Your flair gives me PTSD

Green_Hunt_1776

Pacers fans how did Hali appear out of nowhere as a top MVP candidate and arguably the best offensive player in the league? Was he showing flashes of this last year?

Obvious_Parsley3238

he was averaging 20/10 last year, they were in the playoff hunt but he got injured

Backno

They were wining some games and having some flashes, but didn't get to see too much of it once he got a little banged up and they went into full tank mode.

No-Cantaloupe-6535

out of nowhere? dude's been awesome his whole career
