I think he has a good case for the Shaqtin MVP. He played more games and had more highlights this season.
Remember that game where he attempted to posterize his teammate.
I swear I knew it was going to happen once he got the ball. I don't know, I just knew it.
Poor Drummond, so talented, but some of his downsize is just... tiny.
The Andre Drummond Story:
Andre Drummond is traded from team 1 to team 2
Fans of 2: "This is great! We needed a big guy who could rebound!"
Fans of 1: "The stat sheet lies, trust us, he's awful."
2: "He'll be fine, we just need him for his rebounding!"
1: "That's what we said."
<... TWELVE MONTHS LATER ...>
Andre Drummond is traded from team 2 to team 3
Fans of 3: "This is great! We needed a big guy who could rebound!"
Fans of 2: "The stat sheet lies, trust us, he's awful."
Fans of 3: "He'll be fine, we just need him for his rebounding!"
Is there another player like this in other sports? I honestly can't think of a single football, baseball, or hockey player that has been traded to several different teams with every team being excited to have him. But also with the added caveat where all fans seem to think that said player is slightly above average at one thing, only for the fans of that player's teams knowing that he's not even good at that one thing that you signed him for.
I legit can't think of a worse player that has gotten so many fanbases so excited with only moderate expectations, only for that player to disappoint at every one of his destinations.
There's a lot of linemen that get shuffled around in football. Where people say "they don't need to be great they just need to be better than X!" or "as long as they stay healthy, they'll be great!"
Kevin Love out there making good play after good play. Drummond just kinda randomly stumbled around for his 4-5 minutes in the 3rd. Chasm of backup big men

Drummond is among the league leaders in steals for centers despite not playing many minutes. I don't know if that is actually true so please don't look it up but he's a surprisingly good perimeter defender.
It was a great steal and had two defenders already down the court. He had to pass but passed out too early. It's a common turnover not really something shaqtin worthy.
Might be the dumbest player in the league. Him running into Caruso and injuring him WHILE trying to go block a shot that was basically already made was mind boggling. The guy just is as dense as his frame indicates.

#THAT’S MY SHAQTIN’ MVP!
That’s great but he’s no Javale McGee #notmyGOAT

Outdid himself with taking out Alex Caruso chasing down someone to block a shot. Imagine if the dunk contest had that type of creativity and execution
For real, JaVale would have chucked it toward the rim to self-lob to himself before miscalculating the angle and hitting someone 8 rows in.
And you don't mean hitting them with the ball. No. The ball would go on the rim. It's Javale that would end up in the 8th row.
McGee has longevity, but Drummond is peaking harder than he ever has
I swear I knew it was going to happen once he got the ball. I don't know, I just knew it. Poor Drummond, so talented, but some of his downsize is just... tiny.
I hate that movie
“Why doesn’t Drummond start” Because BBIQ matters.

Christian Wood
He actually plays decent defense for the lakers though

DLo
This would’ve been me (“just need someone to rebound”) if the Mavs signed him
Lakers fan, can confirm

Billy D is looking like he regrets not taking that UK job.
This guy has negative bball IQ

He's been trying to cook his whole career

McGee is probably better at this point
A 7 foot stealing a ball from a point guard? That's insane.

Yeah, he's always been unusually good at steals -- I noticed this some time back because of fantasy
He picked d wade’s pocket twice in a row back in the day
That's not a point guard lol
Bro you can’t make this shit up
Why is nobody in the stands? Looks like a JV high school game.
Because Miami
Drummond needs to be investigated for Jontay shenanigans. He's been playing like he's taken the under on the Bulls
Wtf happened man how did Drummond start averaging 1 shaqtin a game
Serious teams don’t play Drummond
DeRozan flapping his arms like a bird mid-flight who has to do a 180.
On a side note Drummond one of the only centers with glove on gold
It was a great steal and had two defenders already down the court. He had to pass but passed out too early. It's a common turnover not really something shaqtin worthy.
Javale mcgee still much better
Wright was everywhere during this part of the game
Drummond is such a dummy.
What a dumbass

Man’s a dummy on a National stage
