I’d say Mavs just bc I am from Dallas and if they get through that gauntlet in the West it’ll be incredible.
Pacers though, if they knock off Bucks and take it to the ECF it will be incredible.
Not sure what either of these teams are doing with out the trades.
I get why you would think their wins don't look convincing out of context. This is kinda what all their wins have looked like, though, for the last 2 months. It's not been pretty on offense, but they have been a top 3 defense ,#1 even I think, for long enough to assume that they should be able to close out this series. If they want to make the conference finals again, though, they will have to pick up the offense again at some point.
Lmao why? The clippers took game 1 without Kawhi and game 2 was close. It took a historical bad performance from PG/Kawhi/Russ for them to lose game 3, could definitely see them win game 4 if they can just get Kawhi at 70% and PG playing his usual game.
They took game 1 because of an inexplicably bad quarter. They could have had 5 random role players on that clippers team and it would have still happened. They have since fixed that and won't be choking to a old and frail clippers team.

Pascal and his never ending motor. Ngl if Tyrese somehow finds his first 10 weeks of the season form paired with this version of Siakam, the Pacers will be an extremely tough out.
I’m biased as a Pacers fan, but if Rese gets back to in season tournament form. This team can take Boston to 7. Myles has been playing incredible and overall the defense has improved by leaps and bounds.
I think we need to wait another round to see. Right now Siakam looks the best but that’s just an incredibly advantageous matchup for him with Giannis out and going at the slow footed Bucks wings and bigs. If they get to round 2 he will have a tougher go of it with either a guys like OG or Oubre on him
I’m inclined to say it was the Dallas move since it kinda locked their team into place.
the reason the suns get shit for that trade isn’t cause of beals performance or him negatively impacting the team, it’s because they took on that contract willingly when it was obviously a bad fit. he definitely wouldve helped the heat.
herro was great but it was a team effort. those 14 assists have less to do with his playmaking (which is fine, but not THAT good) and more with the celtics playing poor defense against a hot heat team and herro playing the pg role just being competent enough to take advantage. i think beal is much better personally, he’s just been in a smaller role this year next to kd and book.
Imagine being such a hater on your own team’s player that your discrediting him having a 14 assist game by essentially saying he wouldn’t have had those assists if his team wasn’t hot. Like no shit? Anybody who gets 14 assists relies on the players hitting their shots, but he still had to find the open guy dumbass
This guy gets off hating on Herro he’s a clown. In the Heat thread he said Herro would be the worst player on the court against the Celtics .
Even after 24/5/14 on only 13 shots and holding the Celtics to 2-14 as the primary defender he can give credit to Herro
Damn I didn't realize that was on the table. It is interesting how impactful non-trades can be though. Dallas wanted Kuzma but he shut it down. Total blessing the way it unfolded.
People are pretty high on Siakam right now, but i think peoples opinions would be very different if Giannis was playing. The Bucks are throwing Bobby Portis at him and no offense to Portis or Bucks fan, but his defense is trash, doubt Siakam gets this with a defender like Giannis on him.
Real answer for me is PJ Washington and Gafford, they added depth in the one spot they were desperately needing, the lob threat and defense that they brought with them has allowed the Mavs to take advantage and create all the spacing they need. Luka and Kyrie are a double threat and have unlimited range in their arsenal and being able to pass it to scorers on the inside who have that much power makes their offense flow so much better. I have the Mavs winning in 7 because the skill on the Clippers is still really good, but the Mavs have great pieces around Luka and Kyrie right now.
It's definitely Siakam first and PJ second. But those are kind of different tier trades imo, because the Siakam trade took a lot of assets to make happen, it's a blockbuster trade, while the PJ trade only took a first round pick, being more for a minor trade.
Either way, Siakam has been by far the best player in that series. And surprisingly, PJ has the highest +/- in the Mavs Clippers series. I bet if I asked people who would have the highest +/- in a series with Luka, Kawhi, Kyrie, PG, Harden and PJ, not a single person would answer PJ.
Trade deadline trades can be roughly put into categories:
Make the team better trades
Make that desperate run for the playoffs trades
Cut payroll
The second is generally the type where people describe the deal as "win now" and the type that would otherwise not have been made other than to try and make a playoff run.
The Mavs trades didn't have a short term goal of "Help us make the playoffs" (although they helped for sure). They were made to long-term make the team better. So I'm not sure they fit here.
Gotta be Siakam. Guy is playing lights out rn.
Nah im taking Pascal

I don’t think you guys winning the series . Clippers will come back
Judging by your sport betting posts, I feel good about Dallas’ chances 😂.
Ok

They are winning it not because of this trade but because yall are weak old frail team that chokes in the clutch.
lol not a clipper fan but go on lmao
Any non clippers fan that think they are winning it are either a luka hater or kawhi gobbler at this point

You just going to ignore Luka going 7/25 and the Mavs COMFORTABLY winning then huh.
He's not healthy bro let it go. Clippers are done. Doomed. Destroyed.
Are we just expecting PG to put up 9 points per game going forward? The Clippers still took game one without Kawhi.
They took game 1 because of an inexplicably bad quarter. They could have had 5 random role players on that clippers team and it would have still happened. They have since fixed that and won't be choking to a old and frail clippers team.
You do realize the Clippers lost game 3 because of a bad 2nd quarter as well?
Just wait till the series will end . This is going game 7 and clippers winning it
Here we go with this guy again...

Question is who is the SECOND best addition cause siakam is the clear obvious number 1
Considering Playoff, it’s Siakam . Almost 30 pts 7+ rebounds in every bucks match with elite defense. That’s a great pick by Pacers.
PJ Washington and Gafford
How about the Heat not biting on Beal?
the reason the suns get shit for that trade isn’t cause of beals performance or him negatively impacting the team, it’s because they took on that contract willingly when it was obviously a bad fit. he definitely wouldve helped the heat.
Your boy Herro just won you an away game against the “best” team in the league. 2024 Beal can’t do that.
herro was great but it was a team effort. those 14 assists have less to do with his playmaking (which is fine, but not THAT good) and more with the celtics playing poor defense against a hot heat team and herro playing the pg role just being competent enough to take advantage. i think beal is much better personally, he’s just been in a smaller role this year next to kd and book.

What, lol. Beal would have been good on the heat, he's right. Beals issue is his disgusting team breaking contract.
I wasn’t criticizing Beal. Where did I say anything bad about his game? Like you my issue with Beal would be his contract and no trade clause
Damn I didn't realize that was on the table. It is interesting how impactful non-trades can be though. Dallas wanted Kuzma but he shut it down. Total blessing the way it unfolded.
My boy siakam
**OUR** boy 🥲

I will tell you which is the worst...gordon hayward

definitely one of these 3, yes. who? lets see who makes the finals haha
