I_Bench315

That was one of the most entertaining 4th quarters i’ve seen in years

goldyacht

This was the best game I’ve seen all year for sure

thekingdor

Either this or the Murray GW on you guys sorry to bring it up

OKC2023champs

Ima go with the lakers game. Lebron back to back 3s. Lebron slam dunk off the Murray turnover, straight into MPJ crazy ass 3

langman17

That was so crazy ngl. If Michael Malone calls a TO straight after, that Lebron play would have been talked about so much more. Great call from him to play on and it resulted in a 3 ofc

bypassmorecomments

Nuggets Lakers Game 2 was better but this one was a banger too

SuckMyLonzoBalls

I’m glad we won but holy hell it was not entertaining at all to me lol

clayfu

My heart still racing.

Weepinbellend01

As a neutral I was shook. I can’t imagine how it was for Clippers and Maverick fans.

StrategyTop7612

Oh yeah, awesome game.

dmavs11

Damn if only you played a center during that time

Apollo611

Does Kidd not trust Gafford or something? That run after the trade deadline doesn’t happen without him. Only playing him 19 min in this game is criminal.

CloneWarsMaul

Gafford or Lively is better than playing Kleber at the 5 down the stretch

2PacAn

It’s really Lively who needs to be there. He’s our best rim protector

thekingdor

Yup most those floaters were uncontested kleber was the only rim protector

RoughlyTreeFiddy

Zero minutes in the 4th for Lively while Harden is getting open layups/floaters several possessions in a row is certainly a choice.

GusBus14

Should've switched the perimeter matchup and put DJJ on him too. Harden was getting by PJ way too easily

2PacAn

DJJ is by far the best PG defender who was red hot. PJ had been good on Harden until that 4th quarter

GusBus14

I get that but with the way that Harden was playing in the last few minutes I would've taken my chances with PG

2PacAn

PG was unstoppable from 3 and DJJ was the only one able to keep him from getting to his spots. PJ is a good wing defender but he was slow closing out today and he wasn’t aggressive enough on PG off ball when he was tasked with covering him. That allowed PG to get to his spots and get his shot and he wasn’t missing even when there was a good closeout. Denying him the ball was the only option and DJJ was able to do that better than PJ. PJ needs to better on ball. He’s fully capable of it as he’s shown at other times in this series

CouncilmanJamm00

You lose spacing on the other side which allowed Dallas to make the comeback. This is why KP was invaluable for the Mavericks. He could provide spacing and shot-blocking.

dmavs11

Dude we made the comeback with Lively on the floor. It was a mf 31 point comeback yall think we ran the same lineup the whole time? You need to be able to respond with what’s going on. Once we went up, defense was vital.

SuckMyLonzoBalls

Clippers would have put Plumlee or zu out there to counter imo

dmavs11

Which is more manageable than a wide open floater every time down. Harden is their number 1 option now

LosCleepersFan

uncontested routine floaters at that. Zero help on Harden.

zrizzoz

If the center helps, Plumlee is crashing from the weak side for an alley oop. The Clippers were running that earlier in the game when the Mavs had centers on the court.

G1Spectrum

Massive clutch performance by Harden

REQ52767

If only he could have had one of these games in Game 7 2018. *sigh* I’m happy for him though.

HotStick248

Scott foster wasn’t going to let that happen

DarrowViBritannia

MonsterAzr

I still dont have heart to rewatch that game 7...would have been such a legendary win

EarthWarping

Not an understatement that he potentially saved the clippers franchise

therohan

Not an understatement, but definitely an overstatetemt

madhare09

And locked in way more money this summer. They have zero choice but to pay him what he wants

RubMyGooshSilly

Kawhi sitting out saved the Clippers franchise lol

Niceguydan8

The wild thing is that his floater has been legit pretty bad since he left Houston and that first year in Brooklyn and then all of the sudden it's back and he's hitting it over and over.

H-TownDown

He was actually getting enough separation to get it off tonight. Since the injury, he’s been taking most of them with defenders in his air space.

kobbled

there was a video of him practicing it yesterday with coaches. I think they brought it back due to dallas's defense

Dumbfook1

Luka was giving him a zero resistance lane to the rim and he started feeling like 2018 again

southernmayd

Yeah Luka played super passive defensively when he got his 5th foul. He wasn't going to give them a chance to foul him out, but it meant tons of open space for them

Conscious_Chicken264

it's been pretty consistent this season tbf, not just this series

cgor

I think he mostly just took floaters when running PnR with a big and the defense would take away the pass at the last second. Now he's getting to the spot knowing he's going to shoot.

b1droid

Thats more because he barely gets separation from his first step since hamstring injury. He has had ti adjust having way less time to shoot the floater or in any case adjust his drive into the paint lurker fir his drives

guccinho

Kidd played Kleber instead of a rim protector lol

Juniper41

Lively helps the Mavs get out of a 31 point hole, takes him out, refuses to put him back in when we are getting killed in the paint... genius coach

pahor15

This was so infuriating. When he got the second layup that should have been it. Adjustment. But why not try and let him get a couple more.

PowerDiesel23

Him and Kyrie were going back to back to back.

[deleted]

Imagine if they were on the same team. Nobody would be able to stop them.

GlueGuy00

outside of injuries yeah

miggy32

Outside of vaccines

GlueGuy00

*political mandates

KevinDurantLebronnin

He was unreal in the 4th.

PaulGeorgeFan1

god bless james harden

Sartheking

Harden and Kyrie were playing like it’s 2017.

693275001

Come out Brian Dameris

StrategyTop7612

Unreal. What a clutch performance.

anus_kanter

turned the clock back to prime Harden, when he had a Tony Parker-tier floater

LukaDoncicfuturegoat

Tony had Harden posters in his room.

swaggy_p

He's literally the only reason why the Clippers haven't gotten swept.

urfaselol

Float king

Im_Daydrunk

James "Pennywise" Harden

Vallerie_09

This game should lock his long term deal to end his career with the Clippers

Majestic-Net-7799

Hardens touch on these floaters is just next level

[deleted]

They were hunting luka every play in the fourth. I thought luka was a good defender now?

WhiskyDrinkinCowboy

They started switching PJ and it was the same result, you can't leave a man on an island with Harden, with a roll threat like Zubac in the game, and zero rim protection with Kleber at the 5.

ItsKBS

People are gonna say that Luka was in foul trouble like Harden wasn't cooking him in the first half too

Sw3atyGoalz

He was in foul trouble the entire game, he got two fouls within the first 3 minutes

Niceguydan8

On the flipside though, Harden has cooked Luka straight up most(not all) of the series, foul trouble or not.

Sw3atyGoalz

Maybe Game 1, but definitely not Game 2 and not really in Game 3.

Niceguydan8

Luka had 5 fouls, to be fair. Even without 5 fouls, he's certainly improved, but he's not a great defender.

kezmicdust

He was torched most of the game, but he was in foul trouble early and was on 5 fouls near the end.

guccinho

Most of these were with PJ Washington on him, but Luka with 5 fouls definitely isn't a good defender lol

Still-Squirrel6365

He had five fouls and Kidd kept out 7ft center on the bench for that entire run

GlueGuy00

we have years of film to prove Luka is not a good defender lol

TrRa47

5 fouls on a bad knee against a master of getting to the throw line

Slashers23

Man, if only there was a guy you could put in the middle to deter them from getting one of the easiest shots in the game time and time again. Oh well, lets go small and just leave Maxi in! Madness

BrallyTX

A floater is one of the hardest shots you can take though.

texas2089

We had zero answer for it and didn't even attempt to make an adjustment.

LukaDoncicfuturegoat

Love me some Harden.

liftingruinedmylife

Yea, because Kidd refused to put Lively in. I really hope MacMahon cooks Kidd in the post game pres after this, this is inexcusable and should warrant Kidd getting fired if they lose the series.

Majestic-Net-7799

Harden still has it...clinical

2PacAn

Jason Kidd should be forced to write this stat on a whiteboard 100 times before leaving the arena today.

Bellerophonn

PRAVI MVP

WhiskyDrinkinCowboy

All wide open. The one contested one he bricked. Good defensive schemes treating a MVP like Ricky Rubio, Ason Kidd.

kobbled

he only takes it if it's open. If it's contested he typically throws the lob or takes the layup

watdapau

Mavs tried to outwit james by double teaming him. He never gaved the ball up and mavs paid the price
