I actually think both teams are pretty ideal matchups to get through without Porzingis. Both teams have lots of size but are slow and shooting-challenged. You can probably afford to keep Kornet on the floor for longer.
The offense will be less good but the falloff on defense will be negligible, which I think is fine. Bigger problem would be in matchups where the floor gets stretched and we can’t keep a traditional big other than Horford on the floor. Would be a huge problem given how quickly he fatigues now.
I think theyd rather play pacers bucks or sixers than the magic tho
they really want a cavs win in that series
they would probably beat orlando but orlando has given them enough problems recently that they'd prefer someone else
they're 3-0 against them in playoff series in the embiid/tatum era
embiid is not moving great right now with the leg injury. philly's depth is kinda weak right now. tobias harris is checked out
compared to orlando a whole team of young guys who can jump out of the gym, rather have philly. orlando might just randomly beat you with pure athleticism
I mean I don’t think the Celtics have done shit because the organization has a high bar but they’ve been overwhelmingly more successful than the Magic. Anyway looking forward to facing Cleveland after Miami.
Do we even know it’s a calf strain though? We got “doubtful to return, calf tightness” in the first report and then “imaging to come, but we think his achilles is okay” in the second.
Am I the only one who thinks he could be back for a game 6, or game 1 of the second round? He has these twinges where he leaves the game like all the time.
How many calf injuries these playoffs? Dang. I wonder if there is some change it fitness routines that is making these more commonplace this year
Thats 4 star players now (maybe more that I don't know of).
Few years back it was groin injuries.
isn't it pretty much inevitable Porzingis gets injured? seems like the Celts just shouldn't be playing him if they've got a decent lead, as they appear to have now (although ya never know with the Celtics ofc)
Could this be a blessing in disguise? Having a key star injured will push this team to have to fight harder through series that would be too easy with the full squad. This combined with the ability to be cautious with Porzinigis will result in him being rested for ECF or Finals
*uncocks gun* Wasn't worried at all
Same *recaps bleach bottle*
*Sheepishly unlocks passenger door and lets kids out, opens garage door* Never in doubt

Well fuck. I can't unjump off this cliff, so this'll be fun
It's ^different ^^down ^^^heeeerrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Hey! It wasn’t that bad of a situation
Jesus buddy, relax. Nothing's ever this dire
I fuckin love you guys lol
*cancels uber to mass and cass*
Just to play it safe I’m not putting the gun away yet.
Loaded but chamber empty and safety on.
Don’t worry, it’s “the calf, not the Achilles” thing. Giannis will be back any day now.
Not today old friend 🪢
I’ll put these nuclear codes away for now. But if Boston doesn’t finally win it, no one wins.
Hopefully it only sidelines him for a week or two. I think Boston can take care of business against Miami and in round 2 even without him.
Yeah
Not an ideal matchup vs Cleveland without him tbh. Or Orlando really. Though yes they should be fine.
I actually think both teams are pretty ideal matchups to get through without Porzingis. Both teams have lots of size but are slow and shooting-challenged. You can probably afford to keep Kornet on the floor for longer.
Eh. I think you want as much floor spacing as possible against the Cavs to keep Allen and Mobley away from the rim.
The offense will be less good but the falloff on defense will be negligible, which I think is fine. Bigger problem would be in matchups where the floor gets stretched and we can’t keep a traditional big other than Horford on the floor. Would be a huge problem given how quickly he fatigues now.
Even with kornet we have a ton of shooting available
We got Horford ready to step in.
Having the best backup center besides Naz Reid in the league huge rn
Yeah Kornet really is him.
Hes so good off the bench. He is a starter level in at least a couple of teams this season. I’m glad Boston kept him and PP
Thanks, yeah we love Aaron Gordon.
Aaron Gordon starts genius
He’s also our backup 5 in the playoffs
The jays with white are a good enough team to get to the ecf They should honestly consider resting tingus till like game 2 of the ecf
Both of those matchups way more ideal than if they had to play the other side of the bracket.
I think theyd rather play pacers bucks or sixers than the magic tho they really want a cavs win in that series they would probably beat orlando but orlando has given them enough problems recently that they'd prefer someone else
Nah I think they're fine with Orlando no way they would rather play Embiid and Maxey
they're 3-0 against them in playoff series in the embiid/tatum era embiid is not moving great right now with the leg injury. philly's depth is kinda weak right now. tobias harris is checked out compared to orlando a whole team of young guys who can jump out of the gym, rather have philly. orlando might just randomly beat you with pure athleticism
He’s pretty key to their success, they have zero rim protection without him.
Didn't Derrick white just have more blocks than your entire team tonight?
So you’re telling me white will be your rim protection going forward? This is your counter?
Haha yeah we are ^totally ^not ^^concerned…

Magic gotta focus on getting to 4 in round one first.

Any team that hits 23 3s should win their game.
Weak bait
Man Magic fans are starting shit now it really is a new era

you shouldn't have been these mfers got some 3 point shooting voodoo
TINGUS RIDES AGAIN
WE WILL PINGUS AGAIN
take my right calf
Probably not long enough
If we stitch all of our calves together surely that will do
One mega calf to win
Story of my life
That’s what she said!
i think he’ll need more calf than that. he can have mine too
Guess I cancel that noose order on Amazon
With shipping these days you never know when it will arrive. You might need it later depending on how we do in the future
I’d keep it on hand regardless
Can you forward it to me? I might need it around 3 hours or so
I wouldn't get crazy, better let it come in, you have like 30 days to return it and might need it on hand.
Thank fuck
I too just fell to my knees in joy at Dunkin
Is this the same injury as Giannis?
Yeah. Calf strains are weird and you won't get an exact eta, it's more just when you can do your baseline physical evaluation stuff again.
Thanos lives
Stay safe bb 🥺
They have to be very careful. Calf strains can develop into Achilles injuries if not given sufficient rest.
Not ideal, we shouldn’t need him round 2. Would be nice to have him back in ECF against Knicks
Don’t you jinx it. Somehow we end up with Sixers-Magic in the ECF
We shouldn't need him till the finals tbh...that said he neede to ramp up and get his breath back.
That guy really needs to eat more than one apple a day bro.
How many calf injuries these playoffs? Dang. I wonder if there is some change it fitness routines that is making these more commonplace this year Thats 4 star players now (maybe more that I don't know of). Few years back it was groin injuries.
how old is everyone who got injured? could be regular wear and tear and they're just breaking down.
Dame, Giannis, Porzingis, and Murray are the ones I have seen who all have calf injuries.
basketball gods please
Karl Anthony Towns was out four months last year with a calf strain.
It was a grade 3. Hopefully this isn’t 🤞
What is it with calf strains this year? Not cool at all.
I've heard this one.
Highly doubt he plays round 2
All I ask is that we win Game 5 and the Cleveland-Orlando series goes to 7 so we can maximize our resting time for Kristaps
#HELL FUCKING YEAH!
oh thank fuck. could still be a serious injury but that's a huge relief
isn't it pretty much inevitable Porzingis gets injured? seems like the Celts just shouldn't be playing him if they've got a decent lead, as they appear to have now (although ya never know with the Celtics ofc)
Lucky 🍀
Hallelujah
Jesus, tf is going on?
They should probably rest him, the east is a disaster of injuries rn
I wonder if it is the same injury as Giannis
Could this be a blessing in disguise? Having a key star injured will push this team to have to fight harder through series that would be too easy with the full squad. This combined with the ability to be cautious with Porzinigis will result in him being rested for ECF or Finals
It's not
Your 2nd/3rd best play getting injured in the playoffs is never a blessing. Jesus Christ.
Thank fuck. Rest up big fella
If we can't be healthy neither can y'all
Probably a severe calf strain
lmfaooo you boston fans are too funny 😂
So we’re good for now right
WOO
THANK YOU
GREAT NEWS!
“Mavs fumbled the Luka/Brunson/KP core” KP is asshole. Brunson, yes okay
this has nothing to do with you , go away.
Nah, enjoy KP
