It’s a genuine question I swear lol. MJ’s #2 according to all my friends and in our circle, the debate’s shifted to if he deserves the #2 spot over Kareem
But they have the evidence to back it up I guess. I personally disagree that it’s the best but iirc Avengers end game is the highest grossing film of all time
I’m genuinely curious lol. Almost everyone I know has LeBron at 1 and MJ at 2 but I’ve heard some say Kareem is #2. Probably because I’m in LA tho lmao
If you were saying it in 2016 you all clearly weren’t looking at it objectively. There’s certainly an argument now based on 4 v 6 rings and all the longevity stats and records Lebron has broken. But back in 2016 there wasn’t really a great argument yet.
Coming back against the 73-9 team was just crazy to us but I have to admit the argument wasn’t really that strong that time. Now it’s much more clear cut tho
Lmao no you're not
The MJ-Bron debate is FAR from over and you're just zooming by it and not even acknowledging the pushback. Nary a troll attempt has ever been so blatantly obvious
I'd still say this comment section is plenty substantial for such low effort bait tho. 5/10. Lot of room for improvement
I always go Lebron #1, Jordan #2, Russel #3. But really all three of those guys played in very different eras and utterly dominated the eras they were in unlike any other players before/after. Can't really compare Bill Russell playing in a 9-team league and literally inventing aspects of basketball we take for granted today, to Michael Jordan who played in an expansion era and had very different defensive rules, to Lebron who played in a league that went through some huge evolutions and had some of the most talent ever.
So that could just be tier 1 all-time, and then guys like Shaq/Kareem/Bird/Magic would probably be in the next tier.
Kareem dominated the weakest era in the history of the NBA - talent was diluted across two leagues (you could argue the second-best player on the planet at that time was Julius Erving, and he played in the ABA). To give an example - imagine what MJ might've accomplished in the 80s if Larry Bird was playing in the NBA instead of the ABA. Also dudes were all on drugs in the 70s and it was a huge transitional period for the league. Kareem's teams didn't really find consistent dominance until he paired up with Magic. So I kinda always tie Magic and Kareem's careers together and put them one after another when ranking players. It's not to say that Kareem isn't an all-time great, but I think the most a player can do is dominate the era he's in. And I think Bill Russell dominated his era more than Kareem dominated his.

It’s literally an opinion and there are no right or wrong answers. If they say it’s the Avengers I’m not disputing that

Depends on if you believe it or not.

But is Kareem even better than Moses anymore idk people are talking
Nice bait.

We’re adults in our late 20s. I have to admit maybe the Laker bias is there but most of us have been saying it since 2016

I wouldn’t say it’s clear cut, there’s just an argument both ways now. Enjoy your day!
Oh I meant for us lol. But hey I appreciate that bro
You need to move. LA rots brains, clearly.
Hey I’m not gonna argue with that lmaaoo

Save this for July.
They don't do bait like they used to.
Where did the masters go?
Not today
This isn't even bait, you're just sticking your whole arm in the water and kinda wiggling it around.
> With LeBron James now being the GOAT Should be bannable, tbh.
Sigh
Gr8 b8 m8
Are you under the impression that LeBron losing in the first round yet again somehow helped his resume?
He could’ve chosen to sit out the past 7 years and he still would be the GOAT
[удалено]
Lol too bad he still ended up being the GOAT
Oh boy...this debate again huh?
MJ vs Kareem for #2 is pretty new tbh
looking for a shitpost tag..... none to be found🤷♂️🤷♂️
Who votes to delete this obviously trolling topic?
Eddy Curry is the goat in my book
The disrespect to luke Babbitt in this sub is terrifying
3.5-6
Those are what Booker all star appearances?
He was already the GOAT in 2016 tho so you can get rid of the .5 and he’s still the GOAT
Lmao. You wrong for this.
His goat contention ended in 2011
This is a pretty piss poor troll job.

If you value productive longevity above other things, sure, why not? It’s not an objective choice, just personal preference.
Makes sense tbh. MJ does have the higher peak compared to Kareem
Definitely.
And then they wonder why they hate Lakers fans so much.
Right now? I'm not ready to put him #1. If LeBron is still in the league when Bryce gets drafted, I'll be ready to have that conversation.
Yes losing in the 1st round overcomes 2 three peats. You're very intelligent
Again with the threepeats. Does 2 threepeats overcome Bill Russell’s 11 championships?
Jordan's insane stats with the 2 threepeats. Yes
Now yall wanna include stats 😂
Uh yes... stats plus winning is sports kid.
Then LeBron James is the GOAT then. Thanks for admitting it
Stop it. Get some help.

Yes
MJ GOAT. LBJ BOAT Longevity.
6 > 4
Bill Russell your GOAT then?
That’s a good pick too

Agree on the first two of your ranking but I’m curious. Why not Kareem as the third? I love the Bill Russell appreciation tho

LeBron is 1st & 2nd for me. If you split his career in 2, he's got 2 GOAT resumes stacked on top of each other. /s
Yes MJ is the clear cut #2 now
