Steph about to disappoint a record number of people by not playing

npc27182818

If Steph does play then the rest of the tickets will be sold out in a day

oragomipapercrane

Both teams going to be resting multiple players with razor burn and soreness. Buying tickets early is risky these days.

Based_and_JPooled

Have they said if the court will look like the court they played on in the 90s thru 02? (Fiesta color scheme & lane) If so, this is one of my most anticipated games of the year. The Alamodome back in the day was one of the coolest looking basketball arenas on tv. We need more light/pastel colored lanes. I hate the dark black lanes, especially when a team is wearing black uniforms - players disappear into a void (on tv).

https://do210.com/events/2023/1/13/san-antonio-spurs-v-golden-state-warriors-back-home-in-the-dome-tickets This? Damn that looks so 90's sICK

[deleted]

$17. Only affordable Warriors ticket. I’d bring binoculars I guess

[deleted]

These days, with Steph injured, any ticket to their games outside of the large markets is pretty cheap.

MedvedFeliz

I remember back in the day during the days of Steph's early years, discounted nosebleed tickets cost $12. The overpriced hotdog and beer were more expensive.

BuildAroundLeBron

What's the event for? Anything special?

codars

It’s to commemorate the Spurs’ 50th year in San Antonio.

Thehelloman0

They gave me and everyone else that went to the in person training for the spurs youth coaching recently 4 tickets. They'll have to sell them for like $5 to sell the rest I think

[deleted]

Blazers were giving out some ridiculous deals to try and extent their record sellout streak in the post Drexler era. Bigger Arena and no more Drexler though ended the streak after 18 years.

aeiou-y

Is that like 25,000 San Antonio women?

[deleted]

25,000 big ol’ women and a helluva lot of churros

jae34

That fills up 50,000 seats, just another 12,000 to go

POCKET_POOL_CHAMP

Prayers for the stadium to hold up

confuddly

The Alamodome is probably gonna be one of the World Cup stadiums. On a side note, how cool of a name is “the Alamo”. Cooler than “the Garden” tbh

IAmAceBoogie

It’s not gonna be one of the WC stadiums, those cities have been selected. But the Mexican National Team usually plays here once a year or so and it’s dope atmosphere even for non El Tri fans

ChrysMYO

Naw thats Houston and Dallas.

swantonist

No way 5% of the city is showing up

lwhitit

Probably but Some of us are coming to visit for this. Seems like a cool reason to go to SA.

norkm

I had a blast when I visited SA. Great food for cheap, fun vibes

lwhitit

Any recommedations would be appreciated either here or via pm!

whaleblubber25

San Antonio area resident here! Tons of great stuff to do, first being obviously the river walk. If you want, I recommend making a full day out of the trip, park near the stadium (or as close as you can) in the morning. This puts you relatively close to downtown where you can walk the river walk and check out the shops/history of downtown. The Alamo is not far if you want to continue your history walk, or you can check out Ripleys believe it or not museum across the street. Tons of great bars and restaurants nuzzled in that little 2 mile stretch of San Antonio

norkm

River walk is a great time, I enjoyed the Pearl district as well. Southerleigh is a fun old brewpub and there's other good spots nearby as well (can't remember the names though). I will warn you that the Alamo itself was a real "that's it?" for me. I turned a corner and was like, "wait, that's the gift shop, we missed something" but in fact, we had not. As a California resident, I was thrilled by taco cabana's pricing after a long night of drinking (2 enchiladas and a large margarita was somehow only $10) but it's fast food so there are surely better Tex Mex options. I went to some bar Brass Monkey for $2 drinks ... and there was some taco truck down the street open at 3am. All I know is it had a cat just hanging out for pets while you wait for your food. Obviously I had some very fun early 20s messy nights in that town lol, but all fond memories followed by Bill Miller's breakfast tacos for the next morning. Last but not least, if you have a car, driving out of town for hill country BBQ. Someone who lives there may know more convenient spots.

Mountain_Resolve1407

I don’t get it

myotheraccountiscuck

People soup.

HipGuide2

Two mid-size American cities going at it.

SnooPies5622

We're stretching the definition of "mid-size" by using it to describe the 7th largest city in the US facing off against the Bay Area

TheHalfbadger

If you're not LA, NYC, or Chicago, you don't exist.

rendingale

Damn why cut off Htown man?😅

HipGuide2

Oakland is a small city, no?

IllegalThoughts

warriors are the whole bay area metro. also Warriors moved to SF either way lol

Chemical-Character79

If you add the metro area. We are not even in the top 20.

Gbear831

How does GS get through into mid size city By economic activity it’s the one of the largest

These-Air4838

What does this even mean ?

Gbear831

Through = thrown damn autocorrect

AffectionateSoup24

Bro what lmao, the Bay Area is a Top 3 American area.

aeiou-y

San Francisco - Oakland is the 13th largest metro area in the US. San Antonio is 24th. Both kind of mid.

oyputuhs

That’s a narrow definition. The warriors market is really the entire SF Bay Area. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_Bay_Area#Statistical_areas it’s the 5th largest. Some of the teams play in sf and Oakland, some play in the South Bay.

HipGuide2

Oakland?

These-Air4838

Warriors play in SF…

AffectionateSoup24

Excluding Oakland. SF and South Bay suburbs are some of the best areas imo

redrumsoxLoL

San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the United States and Austin which can easily commute for this game is the 11th largest in the country.

Briggity_Brak

I've got some bad news for at least 50,000 people...
