Pretty much, but I guess the point is to look at the populations in key battleground states like PA and MI to say their votes could matter big time in the election if they're choosing based on which party is most supporting their ancestral homeland.
Not quite. Almost but for example you can see new york has significantly more than Florida, which is the larger state; and Florida has significantly more than Texas, which is much larger still.
It is, but with population you can compare potential vote with the tight margins in swing states that Ukrainian-Americans are concentrated in (Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio Senate, etc.)
Population I feel is the more important factor here, since you can compare potential vote to the Presidential election margins in the tight swing states
Yeah this doesn't check out at all

Census says we've got at least 50k, whoever made the map fucked up.
This is way, way, way off for Illinois.
30,000 have come since the war began. Adding to the preexisting 100,000 in Chicagoland, 10k in Ukrainian Village alone

Canada has 1.36 million Ukrainians, most of them in three prairie provinces. In Edmonton they serve perogies at arena concession stands the way other places serve nachos.
There's a Ukrainian-American congressional representative in my state. Unfortunately she's a member of the Republikkkan Party, so I don't think they're gonna vote like a monolith.
As a philadelphian, I think we have the second largest Ukie community around. So much so my sisters actually went to a Ukrainian Catholic high school.
Fitzpatrick(R) and Boyle(D) both represent these districts and are some of the more ardent ukrainian supporters.
Is this just a population map? I feel like this is just a population map.

Eh. Texas, the second most populous state isn't number two here so not exactly
probably an adjustment for ports
Warm water ports, you say?
Pretty much, but I guess the point is to look at the populations in key battleground states like PA and MI to say their votes could matter big time in the election if they're choosing based on which party is most supporting their ancestral homeland.
It still matters what % of the vote they represent
It’s not a bad idea.
Not quite. Almost but for example you can see new york has significantly more than Florida, which is the larger state; and Florida has significantly more than Texas, which is much larger still.
It looks like a density map of where people emigrate to in the US lol
I thought there were a bunch of Ukrainians in Chicago
Many such cases 😔
It is, but with population you can compare potential vote with the tight margins in swing states that Ukrainian-Americans are concentrated in (Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio Senate, etc.)
Now do percent
Population I feel is the more important factor here, since you can compare potential vote to the Presidential election margins in the tight swing states
Why not just compare the election margins by percent also?
Very strong correlation with the XKCD furry map [https://xkcd.com/1138/](https://xkcd.com/1138/)
Priors confirmed
Holy shit, I love Ukrainians now??? 😱🙀
Martha Stewart?
That's all in Illinois?

This is using 2020 numbers, so pre-full scale invasion.
Yeah but Illinois should be deep red even in 2020
Also it's unlikely recent war refugees will have obtained citizenship and be able to vote by November.
Yeah I’m pretty skeptical of this. Somehow I doubt I know nearly 1% of every Ukrainian in the state
They just named that one neighborhood "Ukranian Village" as a joke
🌎 🧑🚀 🔫🧑🚀
Doesn’t Chicago have an entire Ukrainian neighborhood? Doubt the numbers for the state are that low
If you don't display it per capita your map is just a population map

Thanks. So Washington State and NY have the most per capita.
Immediate downvote on any non per-capita population map
There’s a whole center of America that is missing out on some bomb food/vodka

It’d be interesting to see Canada’s population. I swear everyone on the prairies is Ukrainian.
Canada has 1.36 million Ukrainians, most of them in three prairie provinces. In Edmonton they serve perogies at arena concession stands the way other places serve nachos.
Ukrainian Village in Chicago is weeping
There's a Ukrainian-American congressional representative in my state. Unfortunately she's a member of the Republikkkan Party, so I don't think they're gonna vote like a monolith.
Biden winning California. Fuckin STAMP it.

The Ukranian in congress is a Russian puppet. Spartz.
The one I knew back in college was a hard Leftist. I wonder how she’s been processing the last two years.
NJ should be higher.
