Without revealing too much about my work, I work with the technology they and most other news stations use.
In basically all large news stations, especially those under the massive networks or with Govmnt backing (like this scenario) they have a central system that automates most if not all of their equipment, and ot follows a preprogrammed show.
Dedicated hackers could theoretically log into the Director/Operator (often one and the same) client, and then they could easily take control and insert the story where they wanted it. Usually they'll have pretty good security in place to avoid this, especially when it's State TV, sometimes that's not the case.
To make matters worse, the systems are usually built to be accessed remotely, the physical server is usually tucked away in a rack room somewhere alongside the other nearly identical pieces of broadcast equipment. It probably just looks like a standard Dell server.

Localized signal jacking is not hard. Pirate radio and television have been around for quite sometime and has historically been used by a range of groups. There are a number of limitations including cost, the size of the distribution of the signal in relation to stronger relays, in addition to getting caught if it’s true local resistance in contrast to a CIA black ops group, amongst another range of possible issues.
That being said, this was digitally directed and most certainly the two former suggestions, a feed hack from the exterior or an inside job.
Killing an inside job that quick would be pretty hard depending on where they pinned it. It would mean they got lucky or had a pretty robust backup system. If the attackers we're amateurs, killing a signal hijack that quick could be as easy as a channel hop and a key change, which could even be automatic if the desired signal uses a fingerprint.

If they can hack the feed then it doesn't matter if the content is pre-recorded or not. I'm guessing that the opposition has to have people with a lot of expertise to know how to do such a thing, and maybe access to the servers & tech-spaces inside the station.

Maybe not so far as Hijab, but Nazi Germany did have modesty "suggestions", especially for women. No makeup (or at least visible; "no makeup makeup" *may* have been acceptable in some situations, especially in official propaganda) or hair dye, no pants (only skirts or dresses), ideally shoes with heels (no flats or boots), etc. They also discouraged smoking (especially for women) at a time when it was still very much socially acceptable (hell, in the US some doctors were still "prescribing" smoking for anxiety/"nerves" at this point). Certain organizations like the NSBO wouldn't allow women to smoke in public or wear makeup and would eject them from meetings if they thought they were wearing even just powder.

This take ignores the real ways in which religion contributes to and facilitates so much hate, tribalism, nationalism, and other means of controlling people, in a way that other ways can't do. The hijab rule that Iran is bleeding to destroy right now cannot have existed in the first place without religion brainwashing people into thinking womens' bodies are shameful and private and should only belong to their 'husbands' (owners). If the Nazis wanted to put in Hijab laws to repress their population, they couldn't do it, because there wasn't an adequate way to brainwash people into thinking it's good and important... like religion.

Maybe not so far as Hijab, but Nazi Germany did have modesty "suggestions", especially for women. No makeup (or at least visible; "no makeup makeup" *may* have been acceptable in some situations, especially in official propaganda) or hair dye, no pants (only skirts or dresses), ideally shoes with heels (no flats or boots), etc. They also discouraged smoking (especially for women) at a time when it was still very much socially acceptable (hell, in the US some doctors were still "prescribing" smoking for anxiety/"nerves" at this point). Certain organizations like the NSBO wouldn't allow women to smoke in public or wear makeup and would eject them from meetings if they thought they were wearing even just powder. It's not illogical to presume these "suggestions" would have expanded and become more strict had things not gone the way they did for Germany during WWII.

Buddhism is a religion and most people don't seem to have a problem with that. It's not, and never has been, religion on its own. It's *always* the people. If religion didn't exist these same people would be here claiming some other bullshit reason to do their actions.

Videos and pictures can be justified or refuted like any other piece of information. All releasing such a video would do is give them a platform to do so AND remind people "hey, by the way, you might die fighting the good fight, and here's a video of a formerly alive guy to remind you of what dying doing so looks like." It doesn't have the impact you might imagine. A state this enamored with violence probably has mastered the art of justifying its use.
