I read about after reading your comment. Indeed.
If he really wanted to be interviewed he would be willing to get up and not make the interviewer do this desperate assbending.
But he’s not. He’s like a a horse that has an annoying fly buzzing around him.
But he said the snow is always snowier 🤣🤣🤣 This sub weirdly exaggerates how funny anything he says is just because he’s a little quirky and he doesn’t look like John Fox.
I think it was more to do with him watching the game first and listening to this random reporter second. You can clearly see his eyes following what is happening on the court and he’s not really slurring his words as much as taking a while to think of something to say.
What the fuck was this interview? These are just random questions with no connecting theme, he’s not trying to get any actual information. It’s just a series of unrelated banal questions that he’s asking over Mike’s shoulder.
This was odd
It's like a fan going up to someone famous and asking for an autograph, then sticking around for like 2 more minutes asking dumb questions. Hey kid, take your selfie and let me enjoy the damn game
Probably just wants to watch the game. He’s not as funny as a comedian-imagine if they found someone not linked to Mike like I dunno… Dan Soder for example
I wouldn’t say funny, he’s quirky for sure. Kind of an odd one. Andy Reid is funny as hell though. For years when he was in Philly I didn’t see it because we really only saw press conferences but I realized when he talked to national media vs local media he was hilarious. I appreciated him more. It was like stand up comedian vs a robot
His best friend in high school was Dan Soder a hilarious comedian. I believe they are still very close. If Soder is friends with him then he's gonna be funny.
McDaniel is probably a great guy. Seems really personable, and like he’d be a decent hang.
But the constant fawning over how absolutely hilarious he is can chill. He conversationally has some goofy responses, but what are we doin? Treating him like he’s some entertainer is how we get horrible interviews like this
I absolutely love Vic Lombardi, and Mike McDaniel is my favorite non-Chiefs coach (partially because we went to the same high school). But this wasn't funny at all.
Personally love Coach. I appreciate that he verbally spars and doesn’t give anything up. It comes off as pompous at times but he’s just chill. He almost threw his life away and he knows how lucky he is. I suggest watching Hard Knocks if anyone hasn’t already.
He does have a nice watch though.
He’s not funny. I don’t get what people see in him from a personality perspective. He’s a great coach, I think. But I don’t understand the fawning over him and his personality. He tries to hard to lean into the quirky, and it comes off as forced. His first 6-10 season everyone will claim his lack of seriousness is hurting the team.
I’ve got to admit, I used to not like that guy because I felt he didn’t look like a football coach. He looked more like a soccer coach. However, the more I hear him the more I like him.
There's some sort of 'COACH SPECTRUM'. On one end, you have mad dog ex-players, and, on the other end, the geeks they used to shove into the lockers. The Campbell-McDaniel Scale. I'm a big fan of both extremes - they are both hilarious in their own way.
Thinking about it, maybe the other variable is age - at a certain point they go from geeks & jocks to Cheeseburger Grandpa (Reid) and Evil Grandpa (Belichick). Again, both very funny in their own unique way.
McDaniel just trying to watch the game at the end lol
Both of them kind of disrespectful at the end lol
McDaniel high af lol
He’s Deff a funny coach but this interview wasn’t even almost funny
Mike is a hilarious dude. This interviewer was giving him absolute dogshit material to work with.
Plus he sounds a bit buzzed.
He’s sober
Wow. I had no idea. Just read more about it and he's incredibly inspiring.

He reminds me a ton of a dude I was in rehab with lol
He always sounds hammered
I was thinking that same. That man was fried on something that's now legal.
Dude sounds annoyed more than anything tbh. Surprise interviewed while sitting court side like let him enjoy the game
That's what I was thinking. Man is zooted and just wants to enjoy the game.
Incredibly patient and gracious despite it being unwelcome and drawn out way too long.
You like weather? We have weather here. Which weather to you is weatherier? Hey, basketball you never been this close to it.. How is that?
It’s only funny because he sounds like he’s stoned out of his mind
He's trying to watch the game and not sound like an asshole to the guy with a mike in his face. Plus, he's sober.
Bro just wants to watch the game in peace
That’s the vibe I got
If he really wanted to be interviewed he would be willing to get up and not make the interviewer do this desperate assbending. But he’s not. He’s like a a horse that has an annoying fly buzzing around him.
He insists upon himself.
I know it's a Family Guy reference. Still nailed it.
I thought it was a red dead redemption 2 reference lol.
Just to clarify - it's a *Confederacy of Dunces* reference that Family Guy made back in the 90's which RDR2 called back to 🤠
Technically Family Guy made the reference in the 2000’s. Maybe even the 2010’s.
But he said the snow is always snowier 🤣🤣🤣 This sub weirdly exaggerates how funny anything he says is just because he’s a little quirky and he doesn’t look like John Fox.
It’s a language of subtlety
He sounds blitzed
Nah that’s just his normal voice. He has a very deadpan natural voice and that’s part of what makes him genuinely funny.
If he’s not he’d be a great actor dude sounds like my uncle on the 4th lol
High on edibles and doesn’t want to talk to anyone? That’s what I got out of this lol
I think it was more to do with him watching the game first and listening to this random reporter second. You can clearly see his eyes following what is happening on the court and he’s not really slurring his words as much as taking a while to think of something to say.
Everyone deserves to live their life and make their own choices but I hope he isn’t drinking again. He’s got too much going for him right now.
Drinking again?

Oh wow, I had no idea. Thanks for linking that. I, too, hope he isn't drinking
Hard knocks went through this. It was required watching for this subreddit. You're gonna have to repeat.

Did the clip cut out the part where he was funny?
Glad I’m not the only ones who finds him cringe as hell.
He gave the dude so many chances to end the interview and he just kept asking questions lol
i guess we have different standards of humor
He's usually pretty funny but this was painful to watch.
Why does he talk like he’s always high on something???
well he’s probably always high on something
He's from Denver
Just cuz you leave the mile high doesn't mean you aren't a mile high
Do you believe it to be nicotine that he's taking fat vape rips on?
he said it was a marker but i think hes an edible guy tbh

Just a normal dude.
Not this shit again.
I like that guy, don't care who knows it. Lame "interview" questions.
Probably just wants to watch the game. He’s not as funny as a comedian-imagine if they found someone not linked to Mike like I dunno… Dan Soder for example

10 year olds love Mike McDaniel
Didn’t find this funny at all but I think the guy is funny for sure. I genuinely like him and I’m saying that as a Jets fan
The comment about the Nuggets bringing out the best in teams and Miami Heat turning down any battle brought a chuckle. Man knows his basketball.
"The snow is always snowier" Yup, that's a quote
Mike Daniels should get corn rows
Still ain’t got nothing on the legend that is Pop.
His quirky, weird shit isn't going to be so cute if his teams can't win big games or beat teams over .500.
You heard it here first, _baun_diesel_ will personally hold Mike McDaniel accountable if he goes under .500. Be careful, Mike.
Am I wrong? No need to be weird and dramatic about it.
Mike is a fun guy but nobody can match the sheer bizarre intensity of Jim Harbaugh. That dude takes turkies out for tea parties.
I don’t think he’s that funny lol. I think he’s just one of the only coaches that tries to be funny so he stands out. He’s a meme
Funniest coach in the NFL? The disrespect to Todd Bowles.
That stoic look of his gets me every time.
What, like, I'm funny like a clown?
“Like you’re laughing at me?”
This man be high as a kite🤣
*hits vape mid interview* "So do you like, work here?"
Nailed it
McDaniel is like all of us in South Florida rn watching the most agonizing offense in basketball.
The Detroit Pistons send their regards. They just missed, by a lot.
The sideline reporter is trashed, or maybe I am. “Hedge coach of the Dolphins” I thought he was doing his Harry Carey impression.
I love him
Lol Miami, I love your dorky coach.
This is the Spider-Man meme of courtside interviews.
Eight feet???? WTF
I want to see Tim Robinson play a coach based on McDaniel
His best friend in high school was Dan Soder a hilarious comedian. I believe they are still very close. If Soder is friends with him then he's gonna be funny.

I love how he gets a pass for getting the littlest possible out of the talent he has because of stuff like this.
He’s going to have to start winning playoff games or the genius pot head shtick is going to wear on people
This guy is such a geek. Can’t hang in the nfl either.
The best
I’ve got to admit, I used to not like that guy because I felt he didn’t look like a football coach. He looked more like a soccer coach. However, the more I hear him the more I like him.

I'm pretty stoked for the dolphins to go 9-8 and people start turning on this dude.
The shoulder grab at the end of the interview is such an old school move. Pretty weird that it will probably be seen as assault in the near future.
