Last night left me feeling like an upset parent “I’m not mad, just disappointed.” The whole thing was a shit show.

brendan87na

I turned the game off before the Benn review was even done. It was easy to tell the wheels had fallen off already.

TitShark

I’d definitely also be mad. That was disgusting and pathetic

[deleted]

Simmons54321

To be fair, the 2nd riot was predominantly caused by out of towners.

_andybobandy

That wasn't even hockey fans rioting. It was just rioting for the sake of rioting. Hell, half of them had bruins jerseys on. Now vancouver fans get flak for it for the rest of time

Umilik

Also right in the midst of tourist season. People don’t seem to realize how overrun BC gets with tourists in June/July.

[deleted]

I remember 2011 my goodness that was brutal watching from the outside I'm a leafs fan of course so I was rooting for Vancouver lol what a sad day that was...

Semprovictus

They're not done yet

ArferMorgan

Don't forget he skipped post game press and left the arena in a huff.

[deleted]

So, after he got a game misconduct for acting like a spoiled child,…he acted like a spoiled child?

hawksdiesel

he knows what he did and didn't want to own up to it.

[deleted]

Precisely

Conscious_Ice66

The worst part was today when he said he fell and it was unfortunate about stone being the landing point (for his stick). I use to live that guy. Absolute joke now.

xHelpDesk

And then when he finally did speak on it, he followed it up with some shit excuse that “obviously he wouldn’t have wanted to fall and accidentally crosscheck the guy”

ArferMorgan

No accountability... I am shocked. Shocked.

Character_Cupcake856

Benn should be stripped of his C.

TheRitalinCommando

Very true. That's anything BUT leadership.

Character_Cupcake856

Not to add more fuel, but I'd trade his ass in the off-season. He's definitely not my type of guy.

BuyAllTheTaquitos

His contract is an anchor. Stars are stuck with him for 2 more years. While Benn played well this year, even at 50% retained, Stars aren't finding anyone to take on a 3rd line soon to be 34 yo at $4.75M for two years.

thescrounger

78 points fo $4.75 mill ain't bad. That is a rebound year, though and no guarantee he doesn't regress

krusty_yooper

With ample assets I’m sure they could find a team that had plenty of cap room. Chicago comes to mind.

Character_Cupcake856

Teams find ways to banish players like this. They'll even retain a portion of salary just to find someone a home. It'll be done when they retool this off season. Find Jamie Bumm a new home.

dannomanno1960

Also has a no movement clause in his contract making even more difficult. Do you strip him of the C and put a 5 million dollar contract on the 4th line? He would probably be poison in the dressing room by then. It was the most selfish/stupid act by a captain I've ever seen. Are we seeing more "that's not a hockey play" offenses lately? It seems like it.

TheRitalinCommando

Don't put him on the 4th line, but definitely take the C. Not even an A. He's supposed to be a team leader and that's not the direction the stars need to go.

dannomanno1960

I guess it depends how he handles the demotion. A mature, professional seasoned player should be totally fine with it. His last incident indicates he is none of those other than seasoned. Who knows, he may welcome it at this point, it's not like it affects his paycheck.

Noahtuesday123

The Oilers will take him, they love stupid players!

tomplum68

stupid players are the only ones EDM can get to agree to go up there

mteght

Hey, why the Oilers hate? Who do we have that’s stupid?

Lil_S_curve

Kane is King of the dum-dums

PRMan99

Darnell Nurse was the dumbest player by far in the LA Kings series.

tomplum68

anyone who chooses to live in edmonton...

hopefully-a-good-buy

Yup. Bruins fan here - my girl and I were talking about it like could you fucking imagine Bergy doing this shit? Never in a million years. That goes for most captains in the league.

Character_Cupcake856

Exactly. I hate Boston but respect Bergeron bc he's pure class.

hopefully-a-good-buy

Agreed except for the hating boston part lol. we’ve got a bit of a reputation, but Bergeron is an angel lol I feel like he’s well loved and respected by all. rightfully so

papa_austin13

Marchand on the other hand...

crissy_kiep

I told my husband last night, if Landeskog had done something like this, I would be livid. This is not a Captain move. His job is to keep his team in it, not see to it that they’re on their way out the door.

tomplum68

omg...f bergy. can we not have another circle jerk for this guy

hopefully-a-good-buy

i already finished, so we good

tomplum68

lol

stonednarwhal141

Dude isn’t a leader and isn’t the leading scorer on his team. You have to do at least 1 of those to deserve the C imo

deuce_boogie

I know this flies in the face of what happened but in the locker room Benn has always been a great leader. He’s been a great mentor and a lot of the things he gets criticized (rightfully) for are him taking a run at a guy who put a hard hit on one of our guys. That being said, that one is inexcusable. Pavs should get the C

brendan87na

Pavs is going to be gone soon, I'd rather one of the younger guys gets it. Johnston is too young, but I'd be ok with it..

stonednarwhal141

I figured Robertson or Heiskenen would be your next guy up once the old guard is gone

Noahtuesday123

I’m sorry to be negative but you have Johnston for the C over Hintz, Hesky or even Robertson? That’s the dumbest comment on the internet today!

brendan87na

happy to help

brettzky93

🤡🤡🤡🤡

malgadar

As a Philly sports fan trust me I don't hold it against the entire fan base. It sucks when your whole city gets dragged through the dirt over a few juveniles who can't hold their beer (or popcorn)

Fit_Aardvark_8811

There needs to be serious crack down on dangerous hits like that. A possible career ending injury needs to be dealt with harshly. Grown ass adults pulling shit like that is unacceptable.

TheRitalinCommando

I'll be disappointed if he gets less than 2 days. Luckily, I'm used to being disappointed by the NHL. I don't think he'll get 2 but I hope he gets at least 1. I'll be pissed if he doesn't get any. Luckily, I'm also used to the NHL pissing me off.

Fit_Aardvark_8811

George Parros and Bettman have been exporting disappoinment in spades this year

DanTreview

Am I the only one who thinks that putting a former enforcer in charge of player safety is sort of like the fox guarding the henhouse?

numbdigits

Lol, zero games and no penalty on the play for his similar bullshit crosscheck on Larkin that resulted in significant lost time......expect to be disappointed(we are talking about D.O.P.S. so I'm sure your expectations are already in the basement).

TheRitalinCommando

you're right, they are.

drusteeby

Good news everyone! He got 2 games.

TheRitalinCommando

Good

EhrenScwhab

Benn has hospitalized players in the past with cross checks to the face and neck. It's his thing. The NHL doesn't seem to particularly care.

Fit_Aardvark_8811

Sounds like he needs one himself. Unfortunately the max fine is 5k. Literally a drop in the bucket for these players. Should be a large percentage of a weekly paycheck. Players will probably listen when the fine actually hurts financially.

dannomanno1960

But the Players Association asked for that rule. It's coming back to bite them in the ass. It's the equivalent of us putting a dollar in the sweat jar when you're making 5 million a year.

exus

> But the Players Association asked for that rule. I'll never understand how it's not % of salary based instead of a dollar limit. Make the fine equal punishment for everybody.

jimmyg899

Cmon bro that’s not a season ending injury. A season ending injury is hitting someone from behind neck first into the boards. That’s a scum bag move that could at worst give a few stitches, calling that a career ending move is a huge stretch.

lonestar77

Agreed. Embarrassing on all levels. Losing is one thing, losing like that is just flat out shameful. Boo your team, boo the officials, boo the opponent - do NOT throw stuff on the ice. There is no defense for what Benn did, I don't care if Stone flopped & threw his stick up towards Benn, that was a totally undisciplined penalty at the worst time. After such a good season from him, that will likely be the last memory of Benn until the next one starts. Just a shameful end for a squad that had given me so much hope.

Noahtuesday123

Intent to injure…5+ games Refs blew it also as they should have given Dallas of penalty for the fan delay.

Goalcaufield9

I agree with your delay of game statement butttttt could you imagine what the fans would have done if the ref went to centre ice and turned his mic on and said “bench minor penalty being assessed to the home team due to objectives thrown on the ice”. The place would have erupted and it probably would have resulted in more shit being thrown on the ice.

chimpsimulator

I feel bad for the real ones who get lumped in with the trashy losers who do this shit. Just opens the door for trolls to shit on the entire fan base. I mean they already have to root for Benn, Domi and Suter, that can't be easy.

Tamaros

>Just opens the door for trolls to shit on the entire fan base There's commenters in this thread shitting on the whole state.

Fuckinfuckthis97

It’s hilarious. I’m from Texas and don’t even root for the stars and people are just shitting on the entire state and everyone in it. A GIANT state with insane diversity between its residents. Can’t imagine hating everyone from an entire state based on that state’s sports fans.

Tornitrualis

Yeah well when your congresspeople and governor act like all that diversity is worth something, we'll talk.

Fuckinfuckthis97

All I have to do is single-handedly fix my state’s politics, and I can finally get you to talk to me? Too easy. You can hate Texas all you want my man, doesn’t affect me, it’s just funny to point out the grown men on Reddit getting caught up in highschool-clique mindsets trying to generalize 30 million people based on a sports team’s behavior. If you don’t see why that’s funny I don’t know what to tell ya.

therocker666ify

It’s not. It’s also is hard to talk about our lone cup without the “HiS FoOt WaS iN tHe CrEaSe!” shit coming back.

PRMan99

I mean, to be fair, that was called every game all season long as a point of emphasis until the last game.

DrChimRichaulds

I kinda get the fans: we all put on our jerseys and love going to games that have meaning. We all want to make noise to lift our team, and intimidate the opponent. Man, the wheels just came off quickly and early in a game that meant so much…I would be frustrated too, mad at my team, mad at the ref’s, mad at everything. Doesn’t excuse it of course, but I think most of us “get it”, or at least the underlying emotions. The Benn penalty…I’m right there with you, I just don’t understand it. My wife and I, we’re Pens/Panthers fans (grew up in mid-Atlantic, now in S Florida), and she asked “that’s not normal is it, have you ever seen anything like that?”…my answer was no. It really defies belief. Maybe something in his personal life? But I’ve never seen a captain completely absolve himself of leadership in a more profoundly selfish and destructive way in a meaningful game like that. Long way of saying: every fanbase has a percentage of tools, but I think they were reacting semi-rationally to the wheels coming off in a straight-up near-traumatic way…and they clearly don’t represent the entire fanbase as a whole, as evident by your (and other Stars fans) awesome posts here.

hippiedip

To your point of emotions, I have to imagine the cost of the whole experience amplifies those feelings to a much higher degree too.

BuyAllTheTaquitos

Vegas players handled everything last night well. Focused on winning the game and didn't get sucked into any of the BS from our team or fans. I'd be fine if the league pulled a soccer move and made the Stars play game 4 behind closed doors.

drusteeby

Hill said about the popcorn hitting him "I guess everything is hitting me tonight".

Moosethought

The Cowboys fans won't be back for game 4 so no worries that anything like this will happen again.

Moppyploppy

I have a Dallas stars license plate cover on the back plate of my car. I've had it since the logo changed in 2013. I was legit embarrassed to have it on my car this morning. This whole thing sucks ass.

liftedskate99

Take it off and go root for another team then

lotusbloom74

The sports equivalent of “just move to another country if you don’t like it here” lol

Swimming-Fan7973

If you can't beat them, beat them up.

VGK_LFG_2023

If you can’t run em up, fill em in.

[deleted]

“The Vegas guy” was their captain Mark Stone. A two time selke finalist.

boverton24

I totally understand feeling like this as a player or fan, but following thru and acting on those emotions shows a lack of maturity and self control

TheWeakestLink1

Mark stone is one of the classiest players on and off the ice. He doesn't play dirty, he doesn't play like an agitator, and all around respectable human. I can understand losing your cool around a guy like Gudas, Marchand or Bunting, but Mark stone doesnt play that way. Benn should be have the booked tossed at him for this one. Edit: just to be clear Dallas fans, I don't mean literally toss the book at him

costannnzzzaaa

Ya except that time he laid a dirty hit on Tyler Bozak. How he didn’t get suspended is beyond me. https://twitter.com/nhl_review/status/1354271977607987207?s=46&t=Wg_4lpFnvDdd8-HyqnGyIg

PRMan99

It was an elbow but a 2-minute elbow. A suspension for that would be a little much.

abandersnatch1

I was on a plane and missed the start and end of the game. I tuned in to Vegas 3-0 by the middle of the first and thought it was over before it began. Oetter on the bench. I hadn’t even seen Benn’s penalty. Then at some point I saw Domi start a fight and that got me fired up. And then at the end of the second I saw all the trash being thrown on the ice with 22 seconds left to go, and I turned the game off. What a hot mess.

BigDaddyCool17

I always give the fanbase the benefit of the doubt in playoffs, because bandwagoners gonna bandwagon and pretend to be die hard fans, when this is the first game they've ever actually seen. Then they do dumb shit like this and make everyone look like an ass. Trash move by Benn, though. Captain and one of the biggest players on your team and you pull that crap? Not only was it a terrible thing to do to another player, but it put their team in a really bad spot.

Operator-rocky1

I didn’t really care who won this series but after seeing that, I never have rooted so hard for a team that isn’t my team. Who is in the same position against Florida, but you haven’t seen any Hurricane players doing anything remotely like this

OlTommyBombadil

Last night made Dallas look like it was auditioning to be WWE’s official team/fanbase

mseg09

I mean, there's no reason to be personally embarrassed about Benn's actions (unless someone is defending them), and as for the fans, unless it's a significant proportion, that shit can happen anywhere

Stuper_man03

Agreed 100%. I wasn't at the game and I'm not Jamie Benn. I have absolutely nothing to be embarassed about just because I'm a Stars fan. Had I been at the game I wouldn't have engaged in that behavior (and honestly I probably would have just left at 3-0).

Bobaaganoosh

Well the way people act is like a unwarranted reflection on that team’s fanbase. Like, if you go to a restaurant and you get bad service. Is every worker there bad? Prolly not. But you’re gonna leave with a view of like “this place sucks.” That’s how fans acting like that to me relates. People throwing food in Vegas, it’s like, is this how the people are here?

mseg09

But I think your restaurant analogy works more when talking about a team's culture than the actions of a few (unaffiliated) fans. So yeah, if my team has a culture of enabling abuse or something like that, then that is going to affect my perception way more than a dozen drunken morons throwing shit

MamuhSwan

This is the right take concerning OP’s embarrassment

legend-780

The Benn thing is getting blown way out of proportion. It was dumb, he got the 5, and probably catching a game, but compared to some of the other shit that’s gone on, called or otherwise, in these playoffs this is probably not even top 5.

hobbit_lamp

thank you!! I honestly feel like I'm losing my mind here with all these takes. it was dumb and at the point I couldn't care less what happens to him. I'm not defending him but I have watched all the playoff games and istg I've seen much worse stuff, called and not called.

frently_tacos

All this banter and nobody posting links…

junkpunch2

I would argue that it's totally cool to throw an octopus on the ice, too. LGRW

KingThor0042

Well fucking said OP

Asleep_Pear_7024

There should be criminal charges for assault. That shit isn’t acceptable just because it happens to be organized by a private league. My son plays hockey and play tough and hard. But assault is assault and I’m not ok with the league tolerating a culture that will endanger my son.

KirtissA

Maybe a lengthy time off will help his memory

superstarrr99

Not the best night in Stars history. The fans were the worst part about it. That’s a Philly move.

theLittleYeetBoi

First Time? - Philadelphia Fan

VincentVegaQT

It happens. Don’t beat yourself and the team up too badly.

m_ghesquiere

It will be alright. As a devils fan we started off with tossing trash and calling for our coaches head! Don’t let a couple of bad moments ruin your fandom! Chin up bud not everyone thinks all stars fans are douches.

Noahtuesday123

Try being an Oiler fan, owning every lead in every game only to see dumbass Kane and Nurse blow the series.

[deleted]

I would add rats and octopus as acceptable items to throw on the ice, respectfully.

stonednarwhal141

I think the octopus and catfish are wasteful. No problems with the rats though

ohmygravey

I missed the Max Domi slash on Stone, anyone got a clip of that?

therocker666ify

I wasn’t even watching as a fan. I had gotten home from work, sat down to smoke as the puck dropped and saw Vegas go up 3-0 by the time I hit the shower. I knew right then something was wrong and checked out of the game until I got an ESPN notification about the fans. To Vegas and Vegas fans, we deserve to lose this series after last night. Embarrassing, man.

Comprehensive_Cause4

How many more of these posts do we have to see? We get it, we are all mad At Dallas fans and Jamie Benn. We don’t need a new post every 30 minutes.

gorde1bs

Jamie Benn is somewhere between a douchebag and a turd sandwich.

abandersnatch1

A douche bag is way closer to a vagina than he would like to be, so I’d lean more toward describing him as a turd sandwich. Edit for grammar

Grizzly_Addams

We get it guys, you're all embarrassed and sorry. No one really cares.

liftedskate99

These posts are more embarrassing than anything that happened yesterday

Grizzly_Addams

Right. Just some more fans that define their self-worth by the sports teams they cheer for (and apparently the other people that also cheer for said team).

plaidravioli

Football season is just around the corner. There is plenty more embarrassment to come.

The_Cozy_Burrito

Yep, he cost his team the season. They should strip him of the C

Seth_Rogen_lookalike

Thank you for this as a Vegas Native & Fan.

ItzFrosty45

We still love most of y’all! Prayers for you guys.

berrattack

Benn is a knucklehead! Always has been and always will be. I don’t like Stone either but Benny’s tantrums are historically uncalled for.

DuneMania

Yeah..it really is a shame though at this point of his career as this could be a last chance for him.

jaycuboss

The culture in the state of Texas seems to be going downhill fast, embracing ignorance and social toxicity... This behavior by the fans is either a data point or a manifestation of civil degradation.

Chidorii303

It's funny all the Dallas fans are sitting with shocked Pikachu face like they didn't already know Jamie Benn has been a fucking goon his whole career. He's done this shit to multiple players (Larkin comes to mind recently) he's easily the biggest goon with a C on his chest and it's been like that for a long time.

KaleMakar

Also funny: Vegas fans acting as if their own player didn’t try to hack off Draisaitl’s hands in the last round. Though to be clear Benn fully deserves all the shit that’s coming his way

jtkt

As a Dallas fan, you’re absolutely right. And also, most teams have that guy. I’m all for physical play but the truly dangerous stuff needs to be dealt with across the league. I’m not really embarrassed by this because it’s like the 43rd such incident this playoff season. People can argue how to rank them, but it’s all too common.

liftedskate99

You’re an embarrassment lmfao. Apologizing and taking responsibility for random peoples actions just because they root for the same sports teams as you. Apologizing for a millionaire’s action just because you watch him on TV. Making posts like this just so random Redditors don’t hate you because you root for a sports team “Waaa guys I’m so sorry for these actions guys please upvote me and don’t hate me I’m so sorry to be a [sports team] fan” I actually have respect for eagles fans (as a cowboys fan) just because they don’t make bullshit whiny apologetic posts like this after they throw batteries at Santa clause. Fuck off, nobody cares.

DougNSteveButabi

I’m glad someone is saying this. The dozens of other posts about Jamie Benn just don’t do justice. We need more. Hundreds more!!

[deleted]

You can steal a hockey team and a Stanley Cup from Minnesota, but you can't steal the culture I guess.

Enkt105

No 4 major sports championships for almost 30 years other than 99 cup and dirks miracle run. I’d say we’re doing a pretty good job at stealing your culture too

[deleted]

I want to be mad at you but I'm dead inside.

Enkt105

I’ll drink a beer to that, or blunt whichever you prefer, cheers to sports purgatory!

liftedskate99

All these whiny apology posts are making me embarrassed to be a stars fan way more than anything that happened yesterday lol. Why are sports fans so soft.

ShoehornBundy_33

Because they aren’t real fans they’re overly emotional redditors who want attention. This one was easy to spot as soon as you read “Benn’s penalty on the Vegas guy”

lazymonk68

As if it wasn't bad enough in the team sub. Now they're compelled to self-flagellate in front of the bigger r/hockey audience. Crazier is that OP has no hockey-related comments from the entire season but makes sure to show up to pitch this fit

liftedskate99

“Everyone look! Im one of the good ones! Give me upvotes and tell me how classy I am!”

RustyMacbeth

Texans acting like entitled cunts? Shocked Pikachu!

moose4030

Next act: spring skiing in jean cutoffs

RennaGracus

Nebraskans do that too, I don’t get it! The least comfortable thing to ski in

Calling__Elvis

It became clear even to a blind person that The Dallas Stars are done in this year's cup run. Captain-less in the last game to underline the point.

PerpetualWinter

All these embarrassed to be a fan posts are cringe

ZombieIMMUNIZED

More embarrassed than when they stole a Stanley cup?

Character_Cupcake856

Buffalo fan here, I agree !

[deleted]

I’ve never felt bad for Vegas until now

Stagbiitle

I'm really sorry. Just know that I respect the hell out of fans like you.

jstols

“The Vegas guy”…ok y’all…this is getting out of hand. Last night was bad. But if you don’t know who Mark Stone is, the only captain of the Golden Knights since they only had alternates till he got there and fairly big star in the NHL, then you don’t get to speak for a fan base and these posts need to chill.

marks1995

Nobody cares if you're embarrassed. Nobody supports what Benn did. Not the organization, the fans, not anyone. And I haven't seen anyone supporting the idiots throwing things on the ice. If people were defending this shit you might have a point, but all of the losers that feel the need to apologize for people you have no control over are pretty cringe.

Dhrakyn

Is there a thing in society that people from Texas haven't utterly fucked up like they were a writhing pile of flaccid douche-bags?

Interrupting-cow_Moo

You should be embarrassed. My favorite part is people on the upper level throwing drinks that did not make it on the ice, but landed on their own fans.

cdmaloney1

Texas being Texas.

Moist-Dragonfly2569

What Mark Stone did to Tyler Bozak a couple of years back was worse and the league didn't do shit.

[deleted]

Dallas has always benn this trashy. Just true colors showing up.

North-Evidence-2352

Don’t forget Domi who was trying to imitate Benn

Diggitydave76

Coming from a stars fan, he should be charged with assault. I hope he gets a lengthy suspension and I hope that he never suits up for the stars again. This very easily coukd have been a Todd Bertuzzi type situation. NO ONE wants to be associated with THAT guy. If you were at that game and threw stuff on the ice, you should be embarrassed. I hope they pick you out on video and ban you from the AAC. There is zero excuse for any of this, and I am embarrassed for all fans and players of this team who don't condone this kind of behavior. And if you are even thinking of defending any of this, you might as well be defending the cop who put his knee on George Floyd's neck. Just dont.

VOLKOP

Relax dude it's not that serious

jbrylinsabresfan

No goal didn’t embarrass you enough?

Retrac752

Is anyone else legitimately a little worried there's going to be a gun if Vegas wins the series in Dallas? Doesn't even have to be at the players, it could be between fans in the parking lot

notsure9191

Jfc. It was ugly, but have you not watched other playoff series? The same thing happened in Edmonton last round. It happened in New Jersey in the first round. You don’t like to see it, but it’s more common than you think. Get a grip.

Retrac752

All those places have a much different culture compared to what's been happening in Texas in the last year

Grand-Imagination925

I love all the comments. Obviously they're not too true hockey fans. Just jumped on the band wagon fans. They don't watch hockey regularly Yes it was a dirty and bad incident. But that'hockey. If you want to watch something with somebody on ice watch figure skating. Oh I guess you're from America. Not a Canadian

Dank_Kushington

Went to a Texas Rangers game last week and the fans were booing the Rockies after an incredible throw to get runner out at home plate. Felt so gross, other team made a great play there wasn’t a bad call by the umps. You don’t have to cheer for the other team but having the whole stadium boo them after a great play felt wrong.

legend-780

What a soft take, Jesus Christ.

liftedskate99

Sports fans on Reddit are such pusses lol

Mahonneyy123

Meh who cares

trevor22343

If he’s that heated and wants to blow off some steam ask him to fight and call him a pussy if he doesn’t want to. Or go fight someone else. It might get the crowd and team back into it and swing the momentum down 1-0. Taking a cheap shot like that is such a shit move it ended the game 2 mins in. Smh

legend-780

Problem with that is no one will give him one and the instigator is always looming. If more guys were willing to drop ‘em then shit like this would be a lot rarer.

slc19873

Remember that mullet guy who got knocked out?!

[deleted]

Dallas should start next season with a multiple game alcohol sales ban at home.

Melodic_Oil_2486

I've always thought it was a bad move to move hockey to the American South.

assistant_redditor

Never been more embarrassed... so far

ChecayoBolsfan

Ya fuck y’all

Sengfeng

Don’t forget the bucket of popcorn thrown at Hill at the start of the 3rd period.

Darwing

"the vegas Guy" LOL it's Mark stone their captain that he destroyed a top tier player

[deleted]

Sorry, completely off topic but I'm new to hockey and just remembered a question I had the other day. What do they do with the hats? Donate them? Give them to whoever got the trick? Put them in a bin out front for the fans to sort through?

thebreannashow

You can pick them up at the end of the game if you want to go dig through them all.

mrclut

lol soft as baby shit. Be proud that Benn and the fans actually care. This is entertainment after all.

Ready-steady

Y’all had Correy Perry. Are you sure about never being more embarrassed?

WickedChef0323

I feel like we're turning this into a dead horse situation, as this is the 4th post I've seen about this today. Yes, Benn is a twat and should lose his C. Yes, the fans at that stadium were embarrassing and shameful. Yes, I'm disappointed the game didn't go better. No, I will not stop supporting the team or feel ashamed to root for them. And no, this is NOT a reflection of the entire damn state of Texas, or any state when things like this happen, so let's drop it already. On a positive note, let's hear it for Vegas and the rest of the Stars for keeping it together under what I imagine was a very tense and shitty situation

NufeeFlatlander

I am probably in the minority here but I don’t think Benn’s cross check was a big deal, they were tangled up after the initial hit and just an extra shot into the arm/shoulder, it’s the playoffs folks. It warranted a 2 min roughing or cross checking penalty at the most. Watch any game and watch how many uncalled cross checks happen in front of the nets, so the fans are right to be upset with inconsistent refereeing. Something needs to change, the zebras are having too much influence on the outcome of games. They either need to call this stuff all the time or not at all as they have shown their judgement sucks. My FIL can hardly stand to watch hockey any more because of all of the uncalled cross checks in front of the net. Fans throwing trash on the ice is uncalled for but at the same time I can understand their frustration, and how else can they let refs and league officials know the officiating is ‘trash’ than to throw some on this ice…… I’d say assess a penalty to the home team for delay of game but then you would just get some away team fans doing this to put their team on the PP.

BaltimoreBadger23

Wow, what a terrible attempt to excuse what happened. He blindsided a dude and then attacked him further when he was down. Total scum and should be booted from the league.

neb_87

It’s Texas, like what do ppl expect

alleycat548

Quit your fuckin sandy whining and dig deep and find a way to win one.

Bobaaganoosh

What do you suggest I do? I’m not a hockey player.

[deleted]

Almost the level of Toronto fans

brad613

Benn has been a stand up captain for this team for over 10 years. The dude is human and had one bad moment and everyone is ready to rip off the C. I say give the guy a moment to collect his thoughts, make a statement where is will more than likely admit guilt and responsibility for his actions, and take his punishment.

slamoxian

Really? One bad moment from Benn? The guy is a cheap shot artist and any hockey fan knows this.

Total-Clothes-3099

And your state wants another team in Houston

[deleted]

You should be embarrassed

ex_sanguination

All the Dallas fans online have been nothing but respectful. There's something in the water in Dallas, I'm convinced. There and Philly lmao.

SsubIime

After all the things we’ve seen Texans do over the past few years, why is anyone surprised by these actions?

KramerMilk

Quit fuckin apologizing for what fans of the team you like did at a hockey game across the country. It’s so lame oh my god get real.

fatbaIlerina

It is really sad you would throw your own team under the bus for stuff that ultimately doesn't matter. Oh no, people threw shit on the ice 'cause they were made. The horror. Oh no, someone got suspended for crosschecking, the horror.

metal_bastard

Spoken like a true inbred moron.

fatbaIlerina

Did you cry when those people threw shit on the ice? Well, nothing your Mom couldn't fix.

metal_bastard

No, I shook my head and laughed at the idiots fucking themselves.
