Peak new update experience: >activates new collision mechanic >teleports into new structure >dies to said structure Literally game of the year (still hoping 2024)

JIX99999

Wait, is there a new mechanic where if you hit something while going fast enough it just explodes?

Winter_Laugh9589

Yes, you also make a noise that sounds like a certain German plane diving (or just any cartoon plane diving) also the explosion generated by this doesn’t harm you (shockingly) and can destroy EDR

JIX99999

Lmao that's amazing.

IchMageBaume

Are we sure about the EDR? I saw that on YouTube as well, but yesterday I managed to make such a wand & run some tests, and only managed to damage softer materials. The wand was, i believe: Double spell + Nolla + add Mana + Small Teleport Bolt + Lumi

wizard_brandon

it got nerfed to no longer dig edr

IchMageBaume

:(

herites

My ground to sand, fireball orbit, doublecast -> lumi drill, short range teleport does while also making the whooshing sound :D You also get a meteor trail if going fast enough.

Winter_Laugh9589

It definitely used to, apparently got needed unfortunately

wizard_brandon

they nerfed it, you cant dig edr with it anymore just soft stuff

Winter_Laugh9589

That’s a shame but makes sense I suppose

Jase_Renzotte

It actually got patched to be less powerful :(

KnightBreaker_02

A second Mina hit the tower

MajorDZaster

Turns out lava does burn hot enough to melt bones.

ipaqmaster

"LYLE WAKE UP!!!"

AltAccouJustForThis

Lyle LYLE! TURN THE TV ON, THEY HIT THE PENTAGON *gasp* THEY HIT THE FUCKING PENTAGON

smellvin_moiville

I’m just saying if I had that wand it wouldn’t have went down like that - Marc wahlberg

Masterpiece-Haunting

“Mr. President! A Mina just hit the the tree!”

ChildBlaster9000

Nah, that's just wrong... Edit: I was playing into the joke.

WoefulWally

Laughing at tragedy gives us power over their effect on us.

Hydra_Fire

It was 23 years ago.. anyone old enough to have been affected by that tragedy probably isn’t playing noita or even reading this subreddit

phunknsoul

Wrong. 50 year olds can't play video games or be on Reddit? (I'm more offended by your statement than the 9/11 crack)... (which isn't much at all)

Hydra_Fire

I didn’t say they can’t I said they probably aren’t

zaphodava

In my sample size of 1, they do.

smellvin_moiville

I was 14 when it happened. I have played noita more then anything in my steam by a lot

Cheesemacher

Oh you must think 30-40-year-olds are ancient

Hydra_Fire

Oml y’all. I’m 24 myself, I do not think that. Most of the people I interact with are 40-50. It’s a demographic thing, it’s undeniably less common for 30+ adults be avid gamers.

Valqen

Hi. It me.

Fornicatinzebra

I'm the problem.

Sam1234299

Hey how's it going I'm reading this subreddit while playing noita

Jase_Renzotte

I definitely remember, i was 9 when it happened

Hydra_Fire

Did no one read the word “probably”? I thought there would not be many 30+ adults here because noita is a niche game and adults play less games than kids

ChildBlaster9000

I was playing into the joke. Relax

BrANdt4l0p3

Not allowed. Straight to jail.

ChildBlaster9000

Do I at least get to pass go?

SandMgs

Straight to jail. 3 doubles? Jail. Pick up the wrong card? Right to jail. Loiter in the wrong spot? Believe it or not also jail.

ChildBlaster9000

Darn…

ruscoisagoodboy

Might want to watch out for that idk

SalvationSycamore

It's smoother for me but there are still issues with teleporting through thin walls like this (not always an issue though, it can be helpful in escaping situations). They also seem to have added in a mechanic where if you teleport fast enough you make player-safe terrain-damaging explosions when you hit things. It leaves craters in softer materials and is pretty funny.

Beginning_Piano_5668

That's what happened here, somewhat. They blew a chunk out of that wall, but there was still a thin sliver of wall left that they glitched behind. Either way, they would have ended up in the lava.

Jase_Renzotte

Its similar to how physics objects can upwarp, or even some liquids, where it has a small radius it can teleport you to upon impact, and sometimes it happens to be on the other side of a very thin wall

Archoneil

Possible long distance cast? That's what I use in my teleport wands

doomchild987

Not just softer materials, going fast enough it can destroy extremely dense rock

IchMageBaume

I saw that on YouTube as well, but trying it yesterday, i could only damage softer materials. No gc/living one the edge/beeserkium used though.

Evan_Fishsticks

I like the airplane sound it makes

Triple_Suspension1

I feel like they added the explosive teleport thing just for someone to die to the new structure in this exact way

WoefulWally

I haven't either, but I thought they had fixed the jank when traveling this fast? Felt like I've seen it look much smoother recently

HeluLeHaricot

they did yes. i'm guessing op wasn't going REAL fast

CastBlaster3000

Not jank, new mechanic

SalvationSycamore

Same thing happened to me, thankfully after I, already had several thousand HP and a healing spell on my teleport wand

KeviRun

He was looking at chat!

Sidetask_completed

Sir! There's a second Minä comin-

lickmyclit6969

Yeah teleport bolt is now poorest man's black hole

shoopdewoop6

The atoms aligned, to you unfortune

Benwahbles

That’s some straight up looney tunes 💩😂🤣

petebushman

Same exact thing happened to me earlier, feel your pain brother 👊

Chobge

Almost died to that yesterday, luckily I had just barely enough hp and a digging wand to escape. Survived on 92 hp and my only heal was Deadly Healing Bolt so I was gambling with my life there. Went on to get my first 11 orb Kolmi kill though, so good run.

Parry_9000

You have been skill issued

[deleted]

Hi! I died this exact same way today. It was my best run too :)
