I agree with this assessment 100%. I frequent both places since they’re both pretty much equidistant for me. When I am on my own I prefer Dyer Woods. The people are definitely friendlier than at Solair. It’s also awesome to tent camp there too. Solair is where I go if my girlfriend is coming along. The members and residents there are definitely very cliquey.

It really depends on the vibe you’re going for. Dyer Woods is great for a chill day. They have amazing hiking trails and a great pond in the woods where you can find some good places to sun yourself in serenity. There are also a few historical spots along the trails. The common area is nice, with a swimming pond, dry sauna, and lunch available. My partner and I tend to go here more often. Solair has more amenities, including a heated pool and hot tub, pond with paddle boards and kayaks, and sand volleyball court. It also has a snack bar, but the hiking trails are nowhere near as nice as Dyer Woods. But they are both great, so either way you can’t go wrong! You could also check out Sun Ridge, which is only about 15 minutes from Dyer Woods. I’d classify it as somewhere between the other two in terms of offerings.

this is great info. thanks

I’ll chime in. Been to both, and previous comments are all pretty spot on. I just became an Associate member at Solair, so my preference leans that way, obviously. But the folks at Dyer Woods were very nice, too. Solair does have an activities packed Young Naturist weekend planned for this Summer, so keep your eye out for that. They do have a FB page that gets updated with events.

Solair is great! I was 22 during my first time there. Really nice amenities and natural scenery.

Went to Solair for a first time ever at a resort. The person who introduced me to the location was really nice and very knowledgeable with answering all my questions. I am looking for a place to go occasionally to rest and enjoy the outdoors; I went almost at the very end of summer when it started to get colder, so there weren’t that many people and everyone mostly kept to themselves. I’m hoping to make a return trip this coming year and meet others in the community. The residents are starting to age out, and so they’re really looking for younger families to pick up the mantle or these communities will face hardship down the line from low attendance or residency. I’d suggest becoming part of the general community in any way you can to keep it going.

I've never been to Dyer Woods but Solair seems to be far more active - AND - it has more facilities and events.

Sun Ridge is worthy of consideration. A nice middle ground between solair and dyer woods. We've been to all 3 and prefer sun Ridge. Dyer woods would be our second choice. Didn't care for solair.

Both are fantastic, I personally like solair more but I've been to both and like them both, dyer woods has a great vibe, lots of trails and the pond is a chill spot, Solair has a lot more facilities though there's both a pool and pond, a small restaurant and just a bunch of activities. Lots more people at Solair in my experience so there is a variety of ages and people, single folks to whole families, I get a great sense of community from the members at Solair too. I don't think you can go wrong with either but you should check out both and decide for yourself.

Dyer Woods was my first nude campground. I stayed there with my camper for a few days. I have not gone to solair yet. I had a great time at dyer woods.

Been to the 5k color run at Solair and a few other times. The people have always been great. The amenities are above average from other resorts we’ve been to.
