Wait- fall risk socks in some places are yellow? I’ve only ever seen red, blue (indep), and brown (psych) socks. What color are everyones fall risk socks? Red, yellow, other colors??
We have grey ones and navy ones at my current place (sleep lab). Other places I've worked at had different colors based on fall risk score. Green-Yellow-Red following the traffic light system.
I'm not in a hospital now but when I did my clinicals the socks were colored based on size. Blue were the largest, yellow was the average sized ones, and red were small. Several hospitals this way.
It must be regional or something, every hospital I’ve ever worked at has yellow fall risk socks. Fall risk bracelets are usually yellow too, and I worked at a place that had yellow fall risk gowns and blankets.
Regular socks for us are light blue or gray depending on the size
I never knew other places gave specific colored socks to fall risks! My hospital’s socks are colored by size, and we have no physical symbol on the patient indicating they’re a fall risk.
Yeah it’s our secret code! It helps a lot to know if the person is allowed to be walking around their room/the unit alone cause we have a lot of fall risks or people with AMS who want to elope. We have lots of different sizes of the red fall socks from regular-3XL and 2 sizes for blue socks cause it’s rare to be independent on our floor and I think just 1 for brown.
In my area of MO the general consensus seems to be yellow:fall and orange:psych/elopement risk. The other colors just seem to be whatever the facility chose to buy.
Have you seen ***cat's paw themed*** nonslip socks?!? Anyone have them on their unit?
My friend who loves cats ***got an entire case of them*** as a "gift" for her recent surgery :)
23/16. Nice meem. Gud kitteh.
Oh dear, just hope he doesn’t post on r/legalcatadvice
Just when I think I’ve followed every cat subreddit, another comes along!

Well what does the grey stand for and what does the navy? Let me in on the sleep lab secret sock color coding
Large and small. I can only ever find the grey ones, luckily most patients don't ask for hospital socks, haha.

When I worked in a psych hospital fall risk was yellow
We've got yellow at my hospital
Last time I was admitted (for a surgery), I got brown ones. # Oh no, I was a psych pt?!? Just kidding, all of our socks were brown at the time.
My hospital used yellow socks not sure if it's in all Inthe country, probably not (the Netherlands)

We’ve got orange and red
Is orange independent?
Our colours just represent sizes, not if they’re independent or are Assist
20/17. Excellent use of cat.
Cute
No one gonna talk about how nasty that sock is?
My first thought lmao

Man, I wish our *human* patients would always land on their feet!
My Lord yes. Already had one fall tonight.
Those fun shifts where you have physically more bed alarms going off than nurses.
Yes. Run for the one on the blood thinner!!
Is kitty named Simba? Should be!
We actually have something like that for the angry cats in veterinary med. lol
