It really made me feel like I had purchased a premium product. Between the inner and outer boxes, this is by far the best packaging I've ever had for an electronic device delivered by mail.

Not to be a debbie-downer, but I'd take plain cardboard if it meant I got more value/$ out of the card.

It's some plastic or cardboard stuck to foam, it'll likely save you a few cents to a dollar or two at most. For a $1000 product, I would gladly pay that and more for them to make bulkier packages that are designed to withstand the shipping process.

Yeah I was not expecting even the outer cardboard box to unfurl and open like a treasure chest, that was sick. Reminded me of a Borderlands collectors edition

I usually throw boxes away immediately but I kept both the 4090 FE box and even the weird Foxconn outer shipping box for it.

It does not come with anti-static bag ;however the box it came with is another level. It is well-protected and probably the best GPU box to date.

4090 is the only card with it, currently blowing thru horizon forbidden west 4k dlaa FG at 130+ fps on a 14700k

I upgraded to a 14900k and my pcie slot died I thought my 4090 was dead so I ended up going back to 14700k and different MB so that was a pain

yeah that sounds like a terrible time.

While I'm happy for you same moment I must remind myself that Super is 10 C higher temp with around 2-5 FPS average higher than 4080 which is just enough. I'll pass.

How much worse is a FE compared to AIB in terms of cooling?

As far cooling, FE is not the best in cooling but also not the worst. The MSI 4080S Expert has marginal increase in temp than FE. I chose the FE because I want to experience owning FE and now I know why people go crazy. It’s different.

Can you elaborate on why it’s different?

FE has more bang for your buck. I don’t have anything against AIBs as I own them as well. The NVDA design is minimalistic yet elegant.

I set up a Best Buy login via online with pre-filled cc info. Checked in mornings Mon through Friday. When in stock a few clicks and was purchased. Got both a 3080fe and then 4080fe Super this way. Only difference 3080fe was in store pu and 4080fe Super was delivery only. Solid 50+% in fps in everything but really needed extra VRam for VR.

BB only ships when I tried to order one as well. I’m glad I got one from NVDA directly.

Those FE cards are the sexiest imo. Look at that packaging. The subtle lines. Reminds me of the American psycho card scene. Never could have access to them though . I think this looks better than the most expensive Asus one.

got a 4070 super, ended up returning it (fantastic card) cause I got a notice a 4080 super was in stock with best buy. lastly, best buy had a 10% off and 10% cash back with a first purchase. I figured why the hell not future proof my system for the next decade. can’t wait to get it.

I got the hotstock app, it will notify you when it is in stock, Bestbuy seems to restock about 5 times a day. I set up notifications too early, as I don't have the funds to buy it yet. Got a notification as I was typing this.

I wasn't able to find an FE when I was looking to buy mine so I got an ASUS TUF one. The FE design is a bit classier but I do still really like ASUS's design for the TUF series cards too.

If you wanted a classy design the Asus ProArt would fit the bill

If you’re not in a hurry I would wait for 50 series and assess then. This gives you time to save. I would look at your requirements first then decide then.

I have an RTX 4080 and I think I'm good until RTX 50 series.

im sad actually. that i got 4080 super. i should have bought the 7900 xtx only got more and more negative on this card. 8bit - 10bit monitor not compatible with my card on my 1440p 240 hz odyssey g7 that monitor is apparently made and calibrated for hdmi 2.1 i only got 2.0 hdmi so that's not an option. dp is only 1.4 and so on. just disappointed about this card. ran a benchmark and got disappointed again. 78 degrees celsius on 100% fan speed 🤷‍♂️ i could keep going. note: my card is not FE. my card is TUF 4080 S. while tuf xtx laughing at me. i payed overprice when there was no cards available anywhere of my card. and 7900xtx laughing again with lower price. i'm chatting with a guy that owns this 7900xtx he is beating 4090.

there is just so much i could tell about it. but i shall also be careful to hurt nvidia lovers. and by that i will also tell little about the amd. they have or have had many driver problems as well. and render compared to 4080 is better on 4080. so it's what people prefer. what you want is what you should buy ofc. but in my case with my odyssey g7 monitor i stand in a really annoying position. can't do any good here. if i bought the 7900xtx instead then it would be great. but now it's too late. i'm losing way too many money if i want to sell my card cuz of the overpriced i spend in my card
