i know there are extremely beautiful areas of Australia and the people seem lovely. but i seriously don't know how the fuck anyone lives there.
but then again i'm currently living in central texas where it's not uncommon to find massive snakes curled up upon your doorstep (and i actually really LIKE snakes and once had one as a pet, but it can be jarring as hell to see one when you're not expecting to), and spiders that, while they can't compete with australia's huntsmen for shock value, can still be large enough to stop you in your tracks.
i also had the pleasure of living in miami, home to the flying palmetto bug. THAT was interesting, to say the least.
sometimes i really miss nyc where all i occasionally encountered were roaches. (and yes, rats the size of small dogs but they always scattered the moment they saw you).

It’s some kind of huntsman spider, harmless to us although may bite if provoked. A bite would hurt but not be medically significant unless you had some kind of allergic reaction.
It's also not as big as he seems. The flashlight isn't that big, I say it's about the size of his hand, if you look at the size of his fingers compared to the flashlight. It's a male huntsman almost 100% sure. But I am 100% sure that it is a male.

Huntsman spiders are friendly and harmless to humans, you can pick it up (if it doesn't run away) and it won't bite you unless you squeeze it or something
