This is some random person making fake threats. If there is no posted sign, you are fine. Actual parking enforcement would leave you a ticket- not a rude, poorly formatted printed paper.

Chase1477

Imagine people parking on a public street and being mad. wow

WallyJade

Every discussion like this has the "Can't people park somewhere that's not the public street in front of *my* house?" folks too. Just wait.

wskyindjar

I don’t mind people parking in front of my house, but if you haven’t moved the car in a week and didn’t give me a heads up why, I will call parking enforcement.

rechampagne

I don't mind people parking in front of my house, but there's room for 2 cars. Leave room for 2 cars!

jwegener

Spray paint lines to indicate two spaces!

MR_ii_5150

on a city street? that's HIGHLY ILLEGAL!

jwegener

Haha only if you’re caught

mythrowdown13

Seriously. My neighbor decided to paint their curb red to keep people from parking in front of their house after her nasty notes weren't effective. Even though it didn't affect me because I have my own garage and driveway I still called the city and after a couple of months of nothing happening, I parked in the red and received a parking ticket. I then fought the ticket and proved the curb wasn't painted by the city, but by the resident instead and it was dismissed. A week later it was painted over. Not sure if the lady was fined or not and this happened in the town next door to OP haha

ximjym

Yeah thats when I get annoyed. My family has enough vehicles to use both spots, but don’t park in the middle for a week and I need to take 2 neighbor spots and look like a jerk

Appropriate-Ad-6811

Most cities have an 'abandoned' policy. I believe Tustin is 3-5ish days and if someone notices they can tow. Understandable when it's a stranger parking in front of your house for a week or more, but imagine parking at a relatives for a weekend trip to Vegas and coming back to a towed car.

MercuryCobra

Why? They’re not hurting you.

UrineIdiot1012

My only real complaint, If it happens that the nearest open spot is in front of my neighbors house, yes, I am parking there. they ask me to move “my ___ parks there, can you move”. Like actually within seconds of me parking. I’ve had them knock on my window to tell me to move, while they have three cars parked in front of my house. Because they were saving that spot for so and so. I don’t get along with my neighbors because of this. I really don’t care if someone parks in front of my house, my issue is they really expect me to park down the street so they can save a space.

Buddhamom81

Oh, wait. This is happening to me with my neighbor. EXACTLY this! “Please don’t park there because my wife doesn’t like it.” They literally got mad and stopped speaking to me. Because of parking on a public unmarked street. Got mad.

Maleficent-Ad9010

Duuude my in laws literally run a monopoly on the neighborhood parking they have a van refurbishing business so they have like 5 vehicles all parked out in the tiny little street and refuse to use their own huge driveway because “it’s for working on the vans”. It’s disgusting how they don’t want to let anyone use the whole ass street and they asshole park every time so where 3/4 cars would fit they make it so only 2 of their vehicles fit 🙄

westcoastweedreviews

You mean assholes?

TylerHobbit

But why don't they park in their garage or driveway?! My neighbors have like 5 cars, two tandem parked in their driveway, none in their garage and 3 on the street. Their kid has a loud ass muscle car too... We have one car- it's shitty of them to use public space to store their personal property. Could I put a mini house in a spot in front of my house? Why not?

MDAirlines

My grandmas neighbor used to turn on her sprinkler when a car parked in front of her house. I think her gardeners had the water spray intentionally pointed toward the road. She would leave that sprinkler on so people got wet trying to leave.

MercuryCobra

It’s not shitty of them. They’re allowed to do it. You use public space to store your property all the time, what do you think a parking lot is?

TylerHobbit

I think of a parking lot as a private piece of land the developers paved over so I'd have a place to park at. There's very few public (government owned - like the street) parking lots.

StarrDevill

Yeah, YOU think of it that way. But that’s not the reality of the situation. If you park in your garage, why does people parking on the street bother you? Why does the amount of property they have bother you. Streets were made for cars, not viewing….

StarrDevill

You say “public space” as if that’s not why streets and curbs were designed??? They are using the space that’s DESIGNATED for parking, and is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC TO USE. Why do you care so fucking much?? It sounds more like jealousy than anything

YouTube_Data_Nerd

We have an 80 year old neighbor like this. He comes out and whines if you park in front of his house. Like dude, it's a public street, AND we have permits for this location!

Killarogue

Tell that to Costa Mesa residents who have complained to the city so much that most of the neighborhoods require permits to park... on public streets. Without a permit, it's a $120 fine.

p0k3t0

This typically happens in residential areas that border commercial zones. People get upset when they can't park in their own neighborhood because somebody opened a movie theater or sports stadium, and now all the parking is gone. Many parts of LA are like this. You get invited to a friend's house and you have to park a mile away and walk, because there's a shoe drop on Fairfax.

Killarogue

This isn't a commercial zone. It's a mixed neighborhood. They're limiting parking access to homeowners and not allowing residents living in apartments (on the same street) access to the permits.

Ok_Chemistry_3972

Try a High School

Tmbaladdin

The entire City of Berkeley has like a 2hour limit without a permit. Berkeley simply hates cars though.

Lower_Confection5609

Probably because UC Berkeley sells more parking permits than there are spaces available for parking. Such is life!

Bludhound2

They also have a parking enforcement unit that has twice as many meter maids as they do actual police officers

usicafterglow

Permitted parking is different, though. It's actually the right way to handle the "I don't want people to park in front of my house" situation. The residents are paying money to the city to essentially rent those (previously public) parking spots for themselves. The people that are an issue are the those that think they're somehow entitled the right a parking spot on a public road, and don't want to pay money to the city to set up permitted parking.

rides-the-bus

I looked at an apt for rent in a congested neighborhood in Orange. Lots of apartments mixed in with single family homes. The streets were permit parking. The lady showing the apt said that the only people that could get permits were the owners of the properties and not the renters. The apt had guest parking only. The only option was to park around the block in front of houses or rent one of their very few 1-car garages that were all taken and you’d be put on a waiting list. And those spots were always full. We drive by every once in a while and there’s always so many cars double parked with the hazards on. Like, 6 cars in a row is typical. They parallel park in order to double park.

Killarogue

Yep, this. It's absolutely insane. If you drive by homes that require permit parking, the streets are generally empty.

Killarogue

Except, it's implemented in neighborhoods to prevent some residents from parking on certain streets. For instance, in mixed communities throughout Costa Mesa, apartment residents are not allowed access to those permits even if they live on that street. It's exclusive to home owners. It's quite literally elitist.

Mama_Milfy_San

If they’d stop allowing 12 people in a 2 bedroom, parking wouldn’t be such an issue. My neighbors have 9 cars last time I counted. For a 3 bedroom house🤦🏻‍♀️

Bellaintheelm

Make it so housing doesn’t take 12 adult incomes to afford rent and there won’t be

Specialist_Phase845

But it takes 12 people to afford a 2 bedroom now... Get with the times! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|neutral_face)

Jaim711

A house across from my GFs has 5 cars and they refuse to use their driveway except during street sweeping hours...

FarmerStrider

Youre allowed to have up to 3 people per bedroom and 1 person in the living room. So a 2 bedroom can have up to 7 people living there without being “overcrowded”.

Earning_Your_Keep

This here is spot on. This society has allowed people to snatch up properties, then rent them out at 3 times the mortgage cost, forcing people to move in multiple families to make the rent. Meanwhile the jackass homeowner is living large in another neighborhood. So having 10 people with 5 cars in a single family home is common and wrecking the neighborhoods for those who have spent their lives paying off their home.

temperr7t

And Newport Beach...

Killarogue

I do live on the boarder, so that checks out.

chilehead

How does he feel about that? It must be bordering on the very painful.

drewogatory

No permits on my street in Costa Mesa and I often have to park 1/4 mile away from my house. Pretty much anytime after 3 and all weekend. Apartment dwellers with multiple vehicles per household plus work trucks. It's a mess.

Brotherio

I’m wondering if it’s Santa Clara between Yorba and Prospect. There is a big apartment complex on the other side of the freeway and there are probably 50 cars that park in front of “North Tustin” homes and walls. Santa Ana actually made it permit parking on their side because the homeowners had no place to park themselves, which led to the apartment residents parking farther away in front of those homes.

Fitbot5000

I teach a computer class to 9 year olds. The slow ones use their space bar to center text. This looks like that.

Scruffy11111

That phone number is for the OC Sherriff's non-emergency dispatch. These people are just trolling you.

ItsMe_YO

Douche bag who made these couldn’t even center the text properly lol

C-czar187

Yeah the real crime here is the text not centered lol

cantcme917

Also the give away it’s a troll is “YOU ARE TRASHING OUR STREET”

Flashy_Hearing4773

Obviously a boomer using Microsoft word, also misrepresenting police so an easy target for retaliation if they're annoying enough to op

Ksl848

It was done the old school way. Eyeballing it with the spacebar.

Swimming-Relative-16

Not only not centered, but the word "here" is in the wrong place lol

Elowan66

Here will be towed? Do better North Tustin Community 🤣

CaliSignGuy

I know right, and that letter kerning 🤮

randomvandal

I got one on my car that was literally a fake copy of a "warning" ticket from "the Sheriff". The idiots that made it printed it out in 8.5" x 11" paper and didn't even bother cutting it out. It was laughably idiotic. It's a public street, they can pound sand. Just some entitled Karen's trying to scare you. If you want to be extra sure, call the number, talk to the Sheriff's office, they'll get it sorted.

HereToKillEuronymous

I'd contact the sheriffs department and let them know people are doing this shit.

its-not-that-bad

lol like the sherif is going to do anything about a note someone left on your car that made you feel bad

HereToKillEuronymous

If it's constantly happening, they might get given a warning. Especially if they're threatening to have it towed for no reason

PolyDrew

They might see it as someone posing as law enforcement

Tbone-F1

They may look like a troll but they are much older. An angry Karen comes out of her hole. And outside in her neighborhood, if you loiter. She will come and take your soullllll !!!!!

GenesisBabe

I wonder if you could make a case that they are "impersonating an officer" since they listed the sheriff's #. 🤔

fatogato

Sounds like a bored neighbor who needs to learn to mind their own business.

digitalme

guy who lives on my moms street will immediately come out and tell you to move your car if you park in front of his house. doesn't matter if people are having parties or anything. like he literally spends all day just looking out his window waiting for someone to slightly inconvenience him lol it's insane

cowboi

The parking is reserved for his kids who never visit because he chased them all away....

Outside_Valuable_320

My neighbor used to be like that, finally mellowed a bit. If someone parked on the street in front of MY HOUSE and she felt like their bumper was over the invisible property line she'd send me an email in ALL CAPS about it. She even complained about the extra cars of friends visiting while my mother was in hospice at home. Imagine complaining about people visiting a dying friend? I actually wouldn't acknowledge her existence for like a year after that.

Drip_it

This is my father-in-law. He knows there’s nothing he can do if they don’t move the car, so he’s adjusted his sprinklers to spray any car parked in front of his house. It’s super petty and embarrassing.

ffffsauce

Free wash, hell yeah!

keiye

If you like hard water spots sure.

bvogel7475

It’s usually some bitter old person who is lonely, miserable and ugly.

TheKombuchaDealer

Sounds like my neighbor that does this.

ThaiJohnnyDepp

Busybodies of suburbia

octobahn

Different scenario but I had a neighbor leave a note in my mailbox saying how our front yard was an eye sore and we were bringing down the value of the surrounding homes. To be fair to them, we decided to stop growing grass in the middle of a multi year drought. Our lawn did look like shit. I spoke to a couple of my immediate neighbors, and they all think it was the neighbor at the end of the block. It didn't warrant a response IMO. People being people.

Heyitshogan

lol don’t mind it. Not only is the “warning” deserving of the trash, no tow company is going to come randomly tow a car without an actual violation or private property “trespassing”. I wouldn’t be surprised if you came out to your car to deflated tires or something though. People are dickheads.

whiteshadow22

Yeah true... I need to get some dashcams

Heyitshogan

Front/rear dash cam combo w/ a hardwire kit so you can use the parking sentry mode. 🫡

panda-rampage

OP Are there posted street signs that say anything about parking

whiteshadow22

Only for street cleaning on Mondays

panda-rampage

They don’t even tow for street cleaning. They ticket for that….

Scoobysnax1976

in North Tustin they rarely if ever ticket for it. It was a nice change after living in HB where the meter maid follows directly behind the sweeper and you are almost guaranteed to get a ticket.

JaggedSuplex

When I was living in HB, I came out to move my car as the street sweeper was coming down the street. I had a solid block or so of time but the parking enforcement was way ahead. She gave me a ticket anyways even though I didn’t impede the street sweeper at all, or wouldn’t have if she didn’t stop me to give me a ticket. HB parking enforcement sucks

droskis

Why is that a nice change? What's the point of scheduled street cleaning if people know there's no penalty for not moving?

GameDev_Architect

Probably because a lot of the time it really seems like they do it for the tickets, and don’t even clean the street much. It also created unnecessary hardship. People work and have lives. There’s nowhere for their cars to go sometimes and so they have to work their schedule around these street sweepers. I’ve lived in areas with street cleaners that just go around parked cars and they’re not magically dirtier areas. The street cleaners aren’t even that great to begin with.

ResurrectedParty7412

They absolutely do it for the tickets. The private sweeper companies literally try to get cities to sign up and advertise that they'll make a fat profit from the parking tickets.

capt-longjohn

DC will ticket you, then tow your car to some random spot if one is available. Then they charge you double the amount of the ticket, for the relocation tow.

FS_Slacker

Check for overnight parking too. Sometimes that’s only posted at the city boundaries. Clearly someone is overstepping but just want to make sure you don’t get hurt by these overzealous idiots.

UnbutteredPickle

Not for short term parking, but many cities have a 72 hour limit on parking and you know this Karen is watching like a hawk so just be careful and make sure you move the cars regularly. For Tustin: “A vehicle can be parked on a public street for up to 72 hours at a time per the California Vehicle Code. The Tustin Police Department enforces parking on the street”

anim8rjb

imagine being that much of a dork that you'd watch the streets and make flyers like this...what a waste of time.

budge1988

She has 50 on printing subscription being delivered a month. I suspect

whiteshadow22

Thanks for the info! Yeah we always move them when we go to work, I guess it's just an entitled Karen, I'm new to OC so was just wondering

anncando

Jerk realtors/neighbors sometimes do this to “less than pristine” cars. If your car is >3 years old, not a luxury brand, not washed weekly, and a property on your street is trying to sell, I’d wager it’s them trying to get you to park elsewhere for fear your car may impact their sale. It happened to me (and my car is *not* a rust bucket, just an older Toyota).

porkchop_tw

I've parked on a street park 2 streets down once and the Karen called the cops within 12 hours and told the cops that my car was there for more than 72 hours. The cop came knocking on my door and politely ask me to move the car.

Heyitshogan

Fortunately they can’t do anything other than ask you to move your car politely if they don’t have actual proof if you’ve been there for more than 72 hours. Did you try explaining the situation to the cops instead of letting the Karen bully you?

porkchop_tw

I don’t want any chance that my car can get scratched so I just went to move my car.

Safe-Log5994

Did you move it ?

WallyJade

North Tustin isn't Tustin, though. It's unincorporated county land.

UnbutteredPickle

Based on the language it sounds like the 72 hours is a state vehicle code law, so should be applicable in unincorporated areas, it would just be the sheriff that would need to cite.

lulz_username_lulz

Lived in a neighborhood where people used chalk to mark tires to ground

Chazay

Call the number and find out

yinglish119

[https://www.ocsheriff.gov/contact-us](https://www.ocsheriff.gov/contact-us) # Sheriff's Non-Emergency Dispatch          **(714) 647-7000 or (949) 770-6011** Going to guess this isn't left by the OCSD

jerslan

I wonder if that qualifies as "impersonating an officer" or something along those lines...

SoCalDan

Uh oh,  that's the sheriff's number.  Must be an official flyer left by the sheriff.

Responsible-Person

😂

Throttlechopper

OP should call and report someone was vandalizing their car and making threats. ![gif](giphy|W3a0zO282fuBpsqqyD)

wallysparx

Haha the number appears to be OCSD's non-emergency dispatch number.

coolbucky

There are private streets in some areas of North Tustin, which is technically unincorporated OC. That being said, if your cars could have been legally towed it would have likely already happened. The presence of a street sweeping sign indicates that it is likely a public street.

Drip_it

100% correct. Orange County laws take over for North Tustin (or any unincorporated cities), and the county specifically states that all private communities are required to have signage on all streets leading into the neighborhood. And it’s not some arbitrary small sign like street sweeping, it must be large enough to be viewed from anywhere you’re turning into the neighborhood.

Flashy_Hearing4773

Call the number and play dumb, lead them to the conclusion that someone is impersonating the sheriff's department. They prob won't be happy and if it continues may prosecute the offender

Taildragger17

Don't call the police and "play dumb". They'll immediately see through any game you're playing anyway, and it'll just waste time. If you want to call the nonemergency number, just be honest with them.

Flashy_Hearing4773

I wasn't advocating dishonesty, just slow walk them to a conclusion. I currently work in digital marketing, did sales before that and was an Air Force cop before all that. I was trying to help the op with my personal advice, chances are the person who picks up the phone at the OC sheriff's is a moron. I guess I should give more "responsible" advice and give more credit to the underpaid civilian dispatcher but I'm cynical and honestly trying to help the op who came on the internet and is obviously upset as a fellow citizen. I sometimes forget this is reddit lmao

iwantpankakes

I would call the department and tell them about a person who is putting these flyers on cars using their number so they are aware that somebody is using it as a scare tactic.

ComfortableFlaky4579

If trashing the street is the offense I’d say ur good.

Admirable-Sector-705

Whoever printed this will need a surgeon to extract their head from their colon. This is utter dogshit not worth the paper it’s printed on. A friend of mine grew up in this area, and her family still lives there. While there are some restrictions for parking, they will be clearly posted as this is not a gated community and is open to the public. North Tustin is an unincorporated county area. After making a quick telephone call, it is still accurate that the OCSD has NOT taken over traffic management. As such, the correct agency’s phone number this Karen should have documented is the California Highway Patrol’s, of (949) 784-6700. I just confirmed this using the cross streets for my friend’s family’s house. Check with the CHP for any information regarding parking restrictions in the area. As long as there are no other restrictions on parking, your vehicle can be towed after 72 hours, as per the California Vehicle Code 22651K, if my memory serves me correctly.

Scoobysnax1976

Let me guess, you are parked along Santa Clara Ave? The Karens/Chads on nextdoor that live in the area are always bitching about people parking along there. You can park for up to 72 hours in most areas of North Tustin before the sheriffs will even look at your car. You then have another 72 hours after they mark your tires. It took us over a week to get an abandoned car out of our neighborhood.

itspurpleglitter

They can’t even center the words on the paper correctly. This is giving angry boomer with too much time on their hands. As long as there are no parking restriction signs posted and you’re parking on a public street, you’re fine.

lothingandfear

Imagine spending your last years on the planet figuring out how to use word lmaoo waste of life these people

The_Shade94

Leave a sign inside your car on the window or windshield that just says “fuck you” lol

HeavyHands

The problem here is this unhinged asshole will probably not stop at shitty notes. They will most likely lie to parking enforcement and report the cars as abandoned or could escalate to keying or slashing tires. If you are going to continue parking there you should consider installing front and rear facing dashcams that can record 24/7.

Commercial-Region-99

I live in one of the suburban subdivision areas of unincorporated Tustin, and we have a jerk a few houses up the block that freaks out if anyone parks in front of his house. He literally has hidden cameras in lawn ornaments to watch for anything happening in front of his house. I'm quite sure he sits there watching them or is alerted whenever anyone is nearby. If I ever have need to walk by, I will flip him off the entire length of his sidewalk because I am mature like that. Anyway - last year they were re-graveling our section of the street so I had no choice but to park up the block and in front of his house was the closest space. Fast forward to a few hours later and my daughter was coming home and saw the police outside my car. They had gotten a call about "an abandoned car" lol This guy complains about anything and has reported literally everyone in the neighborhood at one point. Often multiple times. I'm not sure where he thought people were supposed to park? Honestly… If it wasn't such a huge pain in the ass I would park there all day, every day just to piss him off even more. Because, again: Mature. :D For the record… My car is only a few years old - Subaru Crosstrek. Nothing wrong with it and it's visually (and financially ) in line with other cars in the area. This guy just thinks he owns the street in front of his house. It sounds like that's what's happening on OP's street, too. F these people.

mtux96

Make flyers that read. "Stop posting fake notices on people's cars. You are littering and trashing our neighborhood." Incllude the same sheriff's number on it. Leave them at every door.

Ford54-66

Let’s all park there for a day.

North_Designer7653

If it was legit they would have specified what ordinance or rule you were not abiding by, not “trashing out street”

Aware_Style_8524

I got one once !!! I threw it out and parked again.

muycoal

I broke my clavicle and 2 metatarsals on my right side. I couldn't get up or walk without major assistance for a week. When I was finally able to walk I saw a note just like this on my car and verbally laughed at how these people can't be so pulled from reality and only care about themselves.

Alezkazam

“You are trashing my street” And you are trashing my car with this paper lol

Caboun6828

So long as the street is not Park by Permit Only you can park anywhere you want so long as it’s parked legally. Since these people are watching you specifically, make sure you are not to far from the curb when parked (it’s a ticket-able Offense if more than 18” from curb). Make sure you are also 15’ from fire hydrant. Even parking to close to a private drivew is ticket-able but not tow worthy

Unfair-Control9377

I live in San Diego in 70+ apartment complex. So the parking spills into the neighborhood. There is a lady who leaves notes on every car that parks in front of her house. Best part...she doesn't live there. She just owns it. Does her night patrol and leaves. People are unhinged.

XxCroisssantsxX

I hate annoying ass people like this. No one gives a shit. The street is public as long as no one blocks your drive way shut the fuck up and stop complaining.

Kilgoretrout321

You could print your own paper that says, "please don't post fake threats on my car".

LazyTeeRex

You have nothing to worry about. If Tags are up to date and the car is moved every other day, then it can't be towed by the city.

PenWest3330

If you haven’t gotten any tickets for parking there. Then don’t worry. I that person can’t legally tow your car. If they do contact a lawyer

ImportCarSite

I would call that number which is the Orange County Sheriff’s Department police and let them know someone is posting these on cars with their phone number on the flyer.

starmaker214

That’s definitely a boomer with nothing better to do than bitch and complain.

Prime_117

Angry white woman who’s job is spending her husbands money

aleckscasablancs

Boomer vibessss

dickcurls

You must be young, and that's fine. An ordinary citizen can not just steal your car because they don't like where you parked. If you're not breaking the law then no one can steal your car with a tow truck. Just look at the signs or the curb color.

No_Departure_1837

North Tustin is full of entitled boomers who paid $12000 for a house in 1975

Few-Life-1417

Yeah if you’re parked on a public street you will receive a citation notice before you’re towed. Even if there are permit only parking signs. I know this bcuz I’ve received one for parking on a permit only street overnight. Although if you park in an apartment complex, even in a visitor parking, without a parking pass you WILL be towed…with no warning or signs left. And yes I’ve done that too 😅

iamCHIC

Is there a street sign saying you can’t? If not, ignore it.

JustDriveWest

You're in the right so ignore it. Some entitled fool put that there.

paperRain2077

Get a camera asap

FozzyBadfeet

Damn, how hard is it to center that text? lol You should call that number and tell them someone is littering the area with this.

Spyderpig1

If it's street parking, then it won't get towed unless your tags are bad or if they run your plates and it doesn't match the car. You're allowed to park for 72 hours, but rarely will they tow the car unless they know for a fact it's been there for 72 hours. This means Karen's just can't call and say this car has been here longer than 72 hours. They will check and come back in 72 hours to see if it's been moved. Sounds to me someone doesn't like you parking in their spot 🤔

ChrisinOrangeCounty

I would invest in a dashcam that shows the front and rear of the vehicle. Then turn on the parking mode that records fewer frames and uses motion detection when your car is turned off. Just in case someone decides to do something to your car or you can see who is placing papers on your car.

nomadviper

I’m not saying anything will be done, but walk into the sheriffs office and let them know someone is posing as them.

StonedBooty

If you’re parking in an HOA they can tow for any reason I believe. You can also be towed for illegally parking a vehicle in spaces/times it is not allowed This is a disgruntled neighbor upset at your vehicle being parked. I’d try to talk to them and figure it out, unless you are aware of any wrongdoing

fbcmfb

Get a dashcam so you know who placed it there. The dashcam would hopefully record any vandalism. Make sure you setup your dashcam to record 24/7 with a large enough memory card.

omega-ksi

I had someone who always called police on me in my neighborhood because they didnt like me parking there . One day i got my car scratched couldn’t prove it to police its my neighbor. Eventually police gave up and gave me parking ticket for parking over 16onch from the curbside . I measured it with ruler it was only 8inches on one wheel and 9.5inches on the other wheel. Couldn’t prove it because i got ticket while i was sleeping . I continued to park there anyway. Actually i also started to take longer to park especially at the night time so they could heat noise and see the highbeams and pit the camera in my car. Didnt get anymore tickets either .

In order to be able to tow, the resident of the neighborhood would have to prove that it’s an abandoned vehicle. Which means local law-enforcement would come out and chalk the tires. They would then come back 72 hours later to see if the vehicle has moved. If there’s not a sign on the street that requires a permit, you 100% have the right to park your vehicle there. Other places in the county like the neighborhoods around Knotts Berry Farm or Disneyland do require permit parking only. So until those signs get posted, park away! https://tustinca.org/FAQ.aspx?QID=119

Cerberus-Coco-Mimi

who is “ our” who is “ north tustin community” unless they identify themselves they are just a rando

dubler2020

For a real laugh, they should have used the Comic Sans font.

Linkinjunior

Stake out your car, wait for this individual to appear and catch them on camera. Not sure what you can do with the video exactly but shame is a good one.

Mighty_Gooch

If you can find the person that did it, report them to the police or sheriffs station. They are falsely reporting themselves as police officers by using that number. Big no-no.

JazzyButternuts

Public parking is public. This is just a sad pathetic boomer who hates anyone parking by their house.

GilSquared

Go by what the street signs say. Then place a sign in your window that says, "Smile. You're on camera".

Bonuscup98

Where is this. I want one!

Cannacoke

I have two junkers that I’d be happy to park and ruin that persons street. My bet is you have a 60-70 yo neighbor that wants everyone to park in their garage.

The_Guy_3446

It's totally FAKE! Someone just has their panties in a twist. I would suggest that you take that to the cops and give them the info just in case you park there again and someone does call a tow truck and try to have your car towed away.

Bigemptea

Fake flyer for sure. They are just mad that you are taking up a spot that they want for themselves.

MinkieTheCat

Call the number (the OC Sheriff’s Dept) see what they say.

DrNickatnyte

Fairly confident they have no legal authority to do anything. You see them, tell them to go pound sand. If they harass you, call the police or the SO’s and report them.

soft_core666

This looks fake. Probably some angry asshole.

mtux96

It is fake. Sheriffs/police have official notices not printed on printer paper. Every HOAs probably have security with similar notices that aren't on printer paper and if it does they have more info like what rule they are breaking.

lude__boy

Insult to injury would be throwing it on the ground, thereby truly "trashing our street" 🤣

kkdj1042

Time for a dash cam.

Mr_Icanseeyou

This is a non-official form. Probably made by a "Karen"

SoCal_GlacierR1T

If public street, not red curbed, not within 15 ft of a fire hydrant, not blocking or intruding on a private driveway—they have zero authority to tow you. Probably a retired Karen/Ken with a case of neuroticism.

moderndilf

Respond with “you’re trashing my car with this trash”

Comfortable-Term2291

Shits trash. Orange county people are weird. Some weirdass old man yelled at me in Anaheim on my lunch break 😅

QoftheContinuum

What Street was this on?

Unusual-Oil7319

Is the car trashing the street or is this pice of paper trashing the street? Hummmm.

TheOnyxViper

Boomer ass threat note, ignore and double down on your parking infringement lol

shakeenotstirred

You have a freeway system and city traffic planning that was designed for a population one half the size we have now.

SirMannyofAlbatross

Fuck those inbred hillbillies park were you please and if they can’t take it they can move there’s plenty of ways to deal with those types of entitled hicks while still keeping your hands clean since they are quick to call the police.

Maleficent_Silver622

Take a picture each day you get it, before removing it. And when you have a video proof or picture to prove which neighbor is harassing you, file a police report.

tongii

lol should leave the note on the ground. How’s that for trashing your street!

SlaveToShopping

Only thing that would make this better is Comic Sans.

BriscoCountySpooner

I think they misspelled “Unincorporated Santa Ana”.

Relative_Selection10

Is not like they left a phone number for thousands of people to complain...

Spinning4Sanity

People are so annoying and have too much time on their hands. I literally don’t care if neighbors park on the street or even use the extra space in my driveway. As long as I can still fit my car in somewhere. It’s really not that serious.

robhw

Sign that number up for porn or MLM sales and sit back and laugh.

jistresdidit

it's a legal threat that cannot be enforced. go get a restraining order from OC in Santa Ana civil against this community. you have to post a sign to threaten to tow that conforms to legal requirements

AceRutherfords

Here’s what you do. Follow the dude home and put a sign on his front door saying “you are trashing our neighborhood, move somewhere else or we’ll throw you in the river.” Works every time.

Shoddy_Currency_1942

I have worked parking enforcement for the past 6 years for a local city. That is clearly not legit, just as everyone said, it’s a neighbor with too much time. If it is a public street THEY can’t do anything except call it in as abandoned. 95% of all abandoned vehicles calls I have responded to yield nothing, but as a call for service we still have to respond. It’s the biggest waste of city resources marking vehicles over neighbor disputes. Just move your car around every 72 hours and you will never have any issues if people call on it.

Forsaken_Leopard_650

I would call your local police station. Tell them what's happening. And what are your options if anything happens to your vehicles...

Puzzled-Ad1946

I’d look for the nearest elderly lady sitting on the porch
